Great breakfast here. Some quite unusual choices as well as the regular. Specials change every month. Service is excellent and they are very dog friendly. I love this place!

This place has definitely gone downhill! Food quality is not the same as it used to be. Shame as it was our family favourite.

I used to love coming here.. but the last couple times have let me down. I ordered a mozzarella, pesto, red onion and pepper panini with fries for lunch. The panini was tasteless and had clearly only been grilled for a minute or 2 as it came completely cold, the mozzarella was not melted at all, which is disappointing as that is the point of getting a mozzarella panini.. there was a large portion of fries however these are cooked from frozen and were pretty tasteless. The service was overall pretty good, but the food really let my experience down. Prices have risen, yet the quality of the food has gone down of the years, would recommend going elsewhere in Altrincham as there are plenty of nice spots.

I called in for breakfast with my two young boys. I’ve had the pleasure of eating here on many occasions but I had to bring my kids to let them enjoy their great food, one of my boys is really fussy and he told me it was the best breakfast he’s ever had. The kid’s breakfast was cooked to perfection and my steak and eggs were delicious! The staff are all so nice and the cafe is immaculately clean. Thanks to the owner who made sure we were looked after and gave the boys a sweet treat on the way out. If you’ve not been then I’d thoroughly recommend you get yourself in there, it’s the best cafe anywhere! Also great coffee! Dan

Popped in Saturday morning for birthday treat. Not mine! Proper old style cafe with an excellent menu. Not just for breakfast. Coffee was good. Food including standard breakfast, eggs Benedict and breakfast sandwiches all very tasty and the right amount. Also GF widely available on the menu. I’d have liked my black pudding to have been a bit chunkier. Was expecting more from Bury! Staff were excellent. Attentive and smiling. The birthday boy was happy. One tip. Sharpen your knives ORC. Or is it a H&S issue!

Avoid!!!! I've deleted my previous five star review after the hideous experience I had at this cafe today. 1. The salad I was served had VERY old leaves in. They'd turned black, slimy and smelt like material from a pond. I felt absolutely sick to my stomach. I was so aghast, I didn't even take a photograph before I stormed to the kitchen to share my horror. The server smelt the leaves and was equally as disgusted. I've never smelt salad like this in my life. Horrific. I wasn't charged for the meal but it's inexcusable. I wouldn't return to this cafe if you paid me. VILE. 2. The kids meals. £5.95 for a baby bowl of pasta for a seven year old. See photo. The pasta was COLD. How they think they can serve a tiny bowl of pasta for almost six quid and keep a straight face. Some eateries feed kids for free, or for a discount in the holidays. This cafe is taking the absolute mick. This cafe is awful. It went from five stars to zero (if I could). It's unforgivable. Inexcusable and disgusting. Didn't charge me for my pond life meal, and reimbursed the drinks, but nothing can undo the absolute mess we experienced today. Shameful.

Mr Hanson I stated in my last review I would never dine here again. But my Mum loves your chicken and chorizo pasta and again hit the mark today. But I ordered the pastrami on sourdough. Do you pickle your own brisket. Because it was so peppery it has made me vomit 30 mins afterwards it was peppery. I have been pickling my brisket for 50 years now and is a favourite if your sister Claire’s from I used to pick up my niece from withington bc and Claire used come with us and Katie always expected a pastrami sandwich. There is no need to use so much black pepper corns and must be slightly rare as well and sliced thinly. Only salt beef needs slicing thickly. Now the coleslaw. Needs a more liquid dressing as the one I had was gloopy. Add equal amounts of milk to mayo and it is just enough to lube the slaw. Weekends I’ll never dine again three times now and did not get what was ordered and I did my chicken wrap was cold my pal order wild Mushroom rissoto. Not a wild Mushroom in sight button mushrooms instead and tasteless. I ordered a side of curly chips did not arrive until I asked for the bill and they were cold and soggy. When they came with the main ordered there was also an order of French toast which was not ordered. MR Hanson why is it at weekends is it nothing like during the week ?

Been here a few times always like to try something different, as always food was delicious, on this occasion I had the Reuben’s toastie from the specials, lots of flavour tasty pastrami, and as a side the Salt and pepper hash browns, cannot begin to describe how amazing they are, comes with a katsu curry dip, absolutely gorgeous

First time trying this place. Decided to opt for the lunch deal, however when it came out we were slightly disappointed. £10 for the deal but you can get more elsewhere for cheaper. Tasted like frozen birdseye burgers and the quality of the meat was very poor. £1 extra for “salt and pepper fries” which is just a sprinkle of chinese five spice. Not really impressed.

Oxford Road Cafe - great place to eat. Wide range of food always very tasty. Specials menu is great to try. Coffee is very good. OLGA - thank you for the coffee you always make it just how I like and you are always very kind. All the employees at Oxford Road are lovely. Well worth a visit.

For the price I expected something a little better. Staff were lovely. But I laughed when I got my barm £7.50 gets you 1 sausage, 1 egg and 1 piece of bacon on a standard muffin

the full english breakfast is definitely a favourite but for us our server Kate made the experience great especially for the kids who enjoyed their pancakes too!! definitely coming back hopefully be served by Kate again :))

Really good choice of food, plenty of variety. Nice atmosphere, very popular (which is always a good sign) staff really attentive and knowledgeable about the different foods on offer. Would definitely recommend Oxford Road Cafe, 100% i will be returning.

My first visit for breakfast 🥞 as a request from my daughter on her 28th birthday. She and her partner love this cafe, and now I know why. Great welcome, friendly staff. We were able to sit in one of their booths which felt nice and private. Good selection of food and drinks, nicely presented and tasted lovely, They gave my daughter a lovely surprise dessert to take away for her birthday. I felt prompted to leave a review as I’ve seen on their social media, a lovely post affirming their staff. Well done

Very friendly staff, who played along with my chatty daughter. Excellent food, good coffee, great staff. I had Danny's Rarebit which was truly awesome, a really nice treat. My daughter really enjoyed the fish fingers and chips.

Fantastic venue for a family birthday gathering! It's dog and child friendly, has amazing food and the staff are friendly and helpful. One of my favourite places to eat in Altrincham. The brisket hash is incredible! As are the Teriyaki skewers.

Delicious breakfast some really interesting items on the menu. We had the Power wrap and Eggs Benedict which was superb, kids had the waffles, which created a rare 10 minutes of silence and clean plates. I will take that as the highest possible praise from them. Will return if in the area again.

A very nice cafe, lots of varied food options, and the people are friendly. They accommodate kids very well too, providing interesting activities sheet and crayons, a good selection of kids menu options too. We had the vegetarian burger which was delicious, and the pizza from kids menu. The only drawback is that food takes a while to come, would be fine if you're not in a hurry or have a hungry baby with you. I'd love to go again though. Update: Visited again after 3years and it's even better now. People are the most sweet and friendly, the food is great and the menu is varied. They were so sweet and gave us a discount and a free muffin as it was my birthday. Will definitely be a regular now!

We are regulars but it's gone a bit downhill recently and we will be trying some alternatives. This Sunday, service was poor, it took 30 mins to get one of the drinks and they weren't that busy. When the food finally came, both meals were cold and there were things missing from one. Staff weren't interested in sorting it out. Consistency is important - I don't want to go somewhere thinking "I hope they aren't as bad as last time"

The place may be smaller than you would expect but it makes up for it quality of food and service. Can't fault it and nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommended and will most certainly go again.

Great brunch, really high quality meat on the OCR big breakfast, every element was perfect. Fridns enjoyed the brisket hash, cheese and ham omelet & the smaller breakfast. It's worth the price, the service was great we changed our order a couple of times and they dealt with it well (too many tasty options!) They're very dog friendly they brought out sausages for him at no extra charge and came o came over for pets and more water etc, very impressive! 10/10

This was always our go to for breakfast and brunch. Last visit a few weeks ago I was disappointed as my club sandwich had very little bacon and chicken in it. It’s put me off going back.

We had a lovely brunch. So refreshing to have somewhere that has zero contamination of gluten. The food was delicious. The cakes were not dry as is so often the case with gluten free cakes. Polite and attentive owners who were most welcoming. I can recommend this lovely little place in the heart of Altrincham for gluten and non gluten free eaters. We will certainly return to the off the wheaten track.

Oxford road cafe, you have recently switched from your normal English muffins to these horrible almost bap like muffins. Please can you go back to the old ones as these new ones are horrible and are ruining the high standards you usually had 😔

Food was very nice. Thought it was a bit pricey for the offer. Very much plays to the local area demograph.

First and last time. Ordered a full breakfast with toast and a coffee. Coffee came and I asked for sugar. The breakfast came and it was a mini. I asked for sauce and asked where the toast was. Bacon was cold and undercooked. I had 1 sausage 1 egg a tiny pot of beans and some mushrooms and an hash brown. I ate what was on my plate then ten mins later the toast turned up with the sauce and sugar. Paid the bill and went to Witherspoons next door for a hot decent breakfast at a fraction of the cost. Might have been a one off. Once bitten twice shy.

The food was average. I got the omelette with a small salad which you can see from the photos that the salad is not fresh. Also, there’s egg shell in the omelette, quite disappointing. The english breakfast is ok. The waiting time is too long, because we drive there so we look at our watch regularly: waited for at least 15mins to take the order, waited for another 40mins to get the food.

Bitterly disappointed, heard good things about the cafe and thought would have Sunday breakfast in with partner. Firstly staff took our number and said they would call us within 15 mins once a table became free. This didn't happen so had to walk back to the cafe. When we got a seat we waited a good while for a member of staff to acknowledge us and take our order. After 40 mins we hadn't see sight nor sound of our food which was simply toast and and a egg balmcake. Turned out staff handnt placed the order. A wasted Sunday morning.

Me and my boyfriend visited for lunch last week having been there many times since we always enjoyed the food. HOWEVER- last week we were unpleasantly disappointed by our experience. After waiting 40 minutes for our sandwiches, we still received the order incomplete. We ordered two sides of fries- but were given one :( and when we asked about it they said ‘oh we are just giving you a big portion’ (it was just a normal portion). So I ended up paying £6 for some very salty and honestly pretty average fries. There was no refund for my fries :( Not to mention a can of Coke was £2.70. The staff seemed a bit annoyed when I’d said that the order was wrong :( and we were confused how it had happened since on that day there seemed to be a lot of staff just standing around Thanks for the previous experiences, but this one was rubbish

Went for a late lunch where thankfully they had all day breakfast still going. There was plenty of menu choices for food and drink, even with a selection of low carb options. The table service was efficient and kept us well looked after with drinks. Happily would visit again 👍

Great food but staff were rude. Overhead a staff member refer to a customer as a ‘tw@t’ after he had left because he only tipped him 5p. Took our tables orders in a rushed manner (it was not busy) and missed items off. I go here regularly and the staff are always pretty rude. Except Gina, very polite and friendly.

If you haven’t tried this place yet, do it ASAP! They have extensive and creative menus with all healthy and fresh options! They had my favourite American ones too! The pulled beef brisket with egg was absolutely yummy! Very friendly staff and amazing service! Absolutely recommended!

Great welcome, superb service, delicious food

Found this cafe on a rainy afternoon. The menu was vast and had something for everyone. Staff were really nice and attentive. Food came out really quickly and it was all tasty. Will visit again

Amazing food for a really great price, and that’s coming from a student. The quality is really really good, I’ve not had many better lunches anywhere. Last time I went I had these incredible hoisin duck bao buns which were some of the best things I’ve ever tasted, and they were only like £7 for 2 buns and then I got some chips and a cold drink. The service is really friendly and quick, and there is plenty of seating indoor and outdoor. Easily one of the best places in Altrincham for breakfast or lunch.

Popped in for a late breakfast after a heavy night out. Really enjoyed the pancakes and the maple bacon. Would definitely recommend 😁

Warm and cosy. Great quality full English with excellent ingredients. Thought a tenner for a breakfast was a bit steep however it was so good I thought it good value. Easily r recommended.

I love Oxford Road Cafe - it has a lovely, warm, welcoming feel for an independent cafe/eatery. Great range of breakfasts and mains throughout the day catering for meat lovers, vegetarians, vegans and fitness fans (protein based dishes). Food is fresh, hot and locally sourced. Staff are always attentive, friendly and fun. You can't book but it's well worth the short wait if they are busy.

Super place for breakfast. Great, friendly service can't fault it. My go to place when up in Altrincham.

Absolutely amazing lunch. I had the Crayfish salad. The dressing was just fantastic. Can't recommend them highly enough.
