I ubered my food so not sure about service or atmosphere but what I can say, the stew chicken was the best I have ever tasted since my auntie used to cook who passed. It was soo authentic I’m from London and I came here for the night. Coleslaw had a little to much sugar but other then that 10/10 fresh plantain to. Good portion aswell they don’t go on stingy with the chicken. Keep it up please.

The best food in Nottingham, this place never lets me down and even when it’s not their best work it’s still better than anything else. Criminally underrated. Sincerely, 6 months pregnant and dreaming of the twisted dough balls x

Food, service and atmosphere poor. Food is precooked, reheated in microwave. Brothers running it are abrupt, rude and in your face. Kept repeating themselves louder and louder. Avoid. Especially if its "raining" ! No parking on busy, noisy junction.

Fui 4 días en una semana, después de la hora de apertura 3 PM y la tienda nunca está abierta en el momento en que se supone que debe hacerlo. 30 y pensó que era justo tal vez un día tarde. 30 y luego 5 , hoy a las 5 y la tienda no está abierta. ¿Esto es horrible solo actualiza la hora de apertura si no estarás abierto en los horarios mostrados?

Myself and two friends drove from Derby in hopes to get a delicious home cooked Caribbean plate and we were not disappointed in the slightest - the curried chicken was high quality meat bursting with flavour and the portion size was brilliant. The gentleman serving was very polite and patient with our big order and even gave us a free sample of the boneless jerk chicken which was sensational. Even the little things like providing the salad and coleslaw in separate tubs was very considerate. Five stars - will be going back for more in the near future.

El mejor pollo idiota en Notts, he estado en todos ellos, porciones de buen tamaño, sabor increíble, llegué tarde a recoger debido a una batería plana en mi coche, pero fue recibido con una gran actitud por el propietario e incluso me lanzó en unos cuantos freebies, será un cliente habitual ahora, seguir el excelente trabajo!

Most disgusting food i ever have. The owner and staff of the shop show pathetic behaviour here. They dont know how to deal with customer. They also misbehaved with delivery riders. Not recommended anyone.

My first order from here I ordered the curry mutton rice and peas and I wish I never ordered from this place I don't usually like putting people down but this food shocked me because it tasted dry as hell my food was filled with rice and hardly no meat atall for 9 pound each and I orderd two muttons two rice I was eating pure rice .. 1 pound for a small size tub of coleslaw Over priced for medicore food Will never order from here again

On 29/07/23 I purchased by card 1curry goat and rice meal. I was over charged £71.50 it should have cost. It should have been £8.50. I have contacted them 5 times to be told the manage or owner, will be in touch. No contact from them what so ever. Junior Northampton

Excellent takeaway yesterday very good standard

As a Jamaican who has lived in several places, I strive to support my people wherever I go. I had visited this restaurant once before and was disappointed with the food and the customer service; however, I decided to give them another chance recently. According to Google, Tropical Taste opens at 1500. on Sundays, so my child and I decided to go for dinner. Since the food was subpar the first time I visited, I wanted to show up when the restaurant opened to see if the freshly cooked food made a difference. Before we arrived, we called to confirm that the restaurant was open. The man who answered confirmed it was. We arrived at the restaurant around 1515, but the restaurant's door was locked. I was baffled. We looked outside, wondering if I had gone to the wrong establishment. The man opened the door slightly and peeked his head out the door as if he was surprised to see us or that we were disturbing him. Without an apology, he said the food was not ready and we would have to return later. He was rude and unapologetic about it. He showed no consideration for the fact that we drove distances to come to his place to support him. Instead of having his establishment open as he had confirmed, ready for customers, he made excuses most disrespectfully. I left there, but not before telling him his conduct was unprofessional and unacceptable. We could have waited inside the restaurant, but he runs the business differently. I have heard that Jamaican restaurants have a reputation for poor customer service, but as a Jamaican woman, I will not condone this behaviour anywhere. Open your doors at the time you set, and be ready for customers who are prepared to spend their money with you. If you cannot open on time, learn how to talk to people well to increase customer retention and keep a good reputation for your business.

Best spot in Nottingham. I have eaten at countless places across the city and no where can you taste the love in the food like this place. 10/10 !

Came here with 3 Jamaicans, who all rated it highly. The best fried chicken I’ve had, well seasoned with the right amount of spice. Also had plantain and dumplings. Real authentic Jamaican food. Would highly recommend.

It is very hard to find a Caribbean takeaway to tick every box. The food was tasty and authentic. The best test is their fried dumplings, you can taste the clean oil and it was not oily. I travel for 30 minutes to get there and they hold my order and the portions was very Generous.

Excellent authentic Caribbean food. Frequently order the Jerk chicken rice and peas and patties. Have also tried the curry chicken rice n peas plus plantain. All have been delicious! Highly recommended

Both Caribbean taste Nottingham and Ubereats. Diabolical service. I offered. CCTV footage which I can submit on here if it was. Possible. To show the driver, put food near my front door took a photo of it to show that it had been delivered. Then pick the bag up and left. Both Uber eats and Caribbean taste Nottingham basically told me to get lost. Diabolical.

Really really good. Very very tasty and juicy chicken, really good portions. The coleslaw is bang on as well.

Mi pareja y yo pedimos la entrega hoy, comí ensalada extra y ensalada de col extra, que se fusionaron en una olla pequeña de ensalada de col, que ni siquiera era muy jamaicana, supongo, más procesada y muy dulce. También pedí que cambiaran el pollo jerk por otra cosa, si incluía demasiada azúcar. Adivina qué, vino con salsa dulce encima. No me gustó esta entrega, que por cierto también llegó con 25 minutos de retraso, con un recipiente abierto de salsa dulce en la bolsa.

We were looking for a Caribbean take out and found this through its online site. They were just about to close so we didn't have the full choice - but we had some delicious jerk chicken. Fresh and very tasty rice. Will definitely come back.

Wow...thanks guys for our yummy takeout. I spent ages looking for a place that didn’t have poor reviews and ended up finding this gem...worth the car drive over 😂 Perfect portions and really tasty, we will absolutely will be coming back!

I ordered a curry mutton meal with rice and salad with a coke for 6 pounds. Did not expect much but the food was amazing! The rice and meat together was a rich, delicious combination that made me feel like I was eating in someone's home. The price also surprised me, the food was good enough that I'd have happily paid a couple of pounds more for the generous quantity and excellent taste. Of course it is not fancy, but the taste is what is important.

Nice food, I particularly like the jerk chicken and lamb curry. Very reasonably priced as well. Staff happy to have a chat about Jamaican food

I’m currently at QMC where my baby girl is having major surgery- I hadn’t eaten for two days and made an order for delivery- the gentleman accommodated my order despite being in the middle of the day and the food is AMAZING!!! Portion sizes are HUGE!! Ordered curry mutton, Ackerman and saltfish and oxtail and butter beans all are proper tasty and spot on! Not had food as good as this since leaving London 8yrs ago! Thank you for your kindness on one of the hardest days of my life! Will recommend to everyone A⭐️
