We celebrated our 25 wedding anniversary with family and friends. We could not have asked for any more. The terrace is a fantastic space, which provides a vibrant atmosphere, the food was amazing and so were the staff, who were so accommodating and couldn’t do enough for us. I would totally recommend this family run restaurant for either a meal for two or a larger gathering - the cocktails were amazing too. We wouldn’t have wanted to celebrate our special day anywhere else and will definitely be returning. To all the staff who made this day so memorable THANK YOU

Charged 70p extra for decaf so £3.90 for a small so so cup of coffee. When I queried the bill as I didn't realise there would be a surcharge and they didn't warn me when ordering the owner was quite confrontational. Having an attitude is not the right way to run a business maybe the owner could go on a customer service course? The young man serving seemed very nice I wish I'd dealt with him. I don't recommend this place

Staff lovely, food overpriced £10 for 1 fish goujon in a bun and a salad leaf typical city take your pants down meal. More chicken on a stripped carcass from a raided chicken coup by fantastic mr fox than on my flatbread for £10.

This is a perfect place for food and drinks. Great value. Our waiting staff was Alex, he was phenomenal. Alex made our visit perfect, attentive, friendly and very professional. We will definitely visit again.

Purely by chance we came across this lovely restaurant while in York for the day. This is real Gem to find with there being so many other eateries around. It's not overpriced and value for money. The food was really tasty and freshly made, none of your microwave or pre packed meals as can unfortunately be found in many places. The service was 5* and attentive without being intrusive. The owners son explained the menu as there was a really good specials board also available. Lovely friendly waitress staff too . What made this experience special was the overall ambience of the restaurant with SMILING staff 😊 We'll definitely be back on our next visit.

Today my friend and I went for lunch .There were menus on the table but they were taken away and others brought waitress said new menu started We saw pasta was advertised and asked what type was informed sorry it was not quite ready so my friend asked how long after a minute the waitress said a Day or Two which seemed odd... We settled on Sirlion Steak served on Sourdough with salad and side of chips I did not eat salad so informed waitress The steak came and was one of the most unappetising meals I have seen brown steak on brown bread with what I think was onion chutney on top of bread it was an open sandwich It was Cold so informed waiter he took the meals away and brought them back there was little difference if any and the plate was cold he did come and ask if that was better but as we were two women and didn't want to make a fuss we accepted the meal reluctantly It was not cheap at £14 each and was not worth it Sorry to say will not be back or recommend Perhaps if you are changing menus should be ready with correct menus on tables before you have customers

Had a quick coffee earlier and returned for lunch because of the friendly service we had received from our coffee stop. Lunch was really nice, steak sandwich and salad for me and my wife had the chargrilled chicken flatbread. Jamie was really attentive and always smiling and very helpful. Everything was so reasonably priced and a great ambience to enjoy a beer/wine with our lunch. Recommend this place all day long.

Absolutely incredible experience. The restaurant has recently brought in a new chef and a new menu too. Me and my partner were both extremely surprised at just how beautiful the food was. We had the chefs recommended dishes. Our filet mignon were cooked to perfection.

Had a nice evening meal here with my husband. The food was really tasty and served quickly by pleasant staff, the only issue with the food was that it was quite cold. It is a nice restaurant with a nice atmosphere but beware that they automatically add a service charge to your bill, one thing to look out for or you may end up tipping twice. If a meal is worth tipping customers will add a tip, they shouldn’t be forced to pay one.

The food was OK, though nothing special. We thought we'd got a bargain with the mid week fixed price menu, but we were offered sauce with our steaks and not told it was extra and then there was a service charge added to the bill, so it came to rather more than we expected!

A definite continental feeling to this beautiful little cafe/restaurant. Friendly welcome & lovely coffee & snacks. Our new go to for future visits to York. Many thanks for the service

We came in just to have a snack and coffee! The waitress was the most unfriendly I’ve ever encountered! We had a baby with us and it was obvious they weren’t happy with this! With hindsight we should have gone next door to the cafe which is owned by same people and the waitress could have recommended this! Instead we stayed and felt very uncomfortable

As a person with an allergy not on the top 14 I couldn’t recommend this enough!! They took account of the allergy and made food safe with incredible kitchen and serving staff

Managed to get a table on a busy Saturday night, service was super attentive, the food came out really quick and lovely and hot. Chicken wings and Sea Bass were lovely and very big for starters. For main, we had lamb and steak, lamb was superb. Steak was good, not the best cut but very good value at £18. Very enjoyable meal.

We popped in on the off chance and so glad we did. Staff very welcoming and knowledgeable. We had a few cocktails, along with a steak and the fish of the day. We also indulged in dessert, all of which were delicious . If you want freshly cooked food, excellent cocktails and wine in comfortable surroundings please visit this restaurant. You won't be disappointed. We will visit again when next in York.

Four of us booked for a meal here on Saturday night and couldn’t be happier. The staff all very helpful and friendly. Food was well presented and very tasty had a selection of dishes from small plates to large plates and the food didn’t disappoint. Piping hot and so tasty and at no point did we feel rushed as was a very busy night. Good prices for food and drink. Thanks to all staff and chefs for making this a memorable evening.

My best friend lives near York and has taken me here a couple of times when I’ve stayed with her. Each time we go for the Tapas small plates as we like to try different things. This visit I was on a Northern Xmas markets coach trip from the Midlands and pre booked as knew it would be a busy Saturday. Had a lovely Tapas lunch. In particular really liked the pea Arancini. We were only after a light lunch so had 3 small plates and a couple of cocktails. The Aperol cocktails were lovely. Really enjoyed our lunch and the staff were lovely.
