Approaching the window, you will enjoy the most exquisite and flavoursome of all ice creams. I have never tasted such a treat as good as this (and my vampyric palette is limited mostly to A+positive and similar claret beverages), coupled with the most personal and friendly service you will ever receive. Mr Trillo and his wonderful associates welcome all with open arms (especially those of a Gothic and Vampyric disposition). There are a number of locations and vehicles to enjoy the delights of Trillo's ice cream, so fear not, you are never far away from delight. My favourite being when the ice cream Land Rover parks very close to my crypt outside Whitby Abbey. Spectacular views will reward the senses, combined with ice-cream giving you a much needed treat for climbing the 199 steps. Mr Trillo, as always, I thank you for your wonderful service to the townsfolk, visitors and creatures of the night of wonderful Whitby. I shall see you soon... Delicious soft scoop ice cream bought from the vendor by the pier in Whitby. Immediately stolen by a pack of six gulls much to the amusement of all around. Thanks to the vendor for calling me back to replace it. I hope everyone watching went and bought one to try their luck with the gulls😁 the second one was delicious!

I bought the Gothic "liquorice and blackcurrant" icecream. There was only a very small amount of actual Liquorice sauce in it. It was pink with dark brown streaks. It tasted OK but decidedly average. I was expecting a black exotic gelato but was a wishy washy raspberry ripple type Icecream. It was also the most expensive flavour too. It was OK but not moreish in the slightest. Of course I prefer it to be naturally coloured and not radioactive red but I was Fairly Disappointed!

Lovely ice cream on the top of the cliff.. An abundance of flavours so went for the Whitby Gothic which was a good mixture of blackcurrant and liquorice. Only gripe would be for a large double scoop expected a larger portion not very generous at all ..

Found at several locations, we tried the one by the pier. The amaretto cherry flavour was our favourite. Friendly and helpful service.

We went to the cabin on the west pier and asked if they had the infamous jet ice cream because it wasn't advertised or on display. They did and It came with a black cone with gold sprinkles around it and was a lovely vanilla taste. However it does get everywhere and stains everything. Not sure if it comes out of clothing yet but it does wipe off faces easily enough if you ask for serviettes. I find it strange that they don't make this their advertising star because it could be a real draw for crowds as you can't get it anywhere else.

We brought my in laws here to try the Whitby Gothic ice cream and they were not disappointed. Lovely liquorice and blackcurrant taste, soft and creamy, they were converted instantly to this new flavour. A lovely ice cream at reasonable price.

After a long walk was ready for an icecream but was disappointed as the cabin on West Cliff was shut then went to icecream van near Capt Cook statue. Gentleman was very helpful as his medium would be my large size however whenI sat down at the bench I was surprised at the lack of vanilla flavour

I have always wanted to visit it Whitby and so me and partner went for the day.I was desperate to try the black ice cream but with not being familiar with the place I messaged Trillos. They were super prompt with their reply and so helpful. What can I say about the black ice cream? It came in a beautiful black and gold come. The ice cream was literally jet black. Without a doubt it is probably the nicest vanilla ice cream I have ever eaten. It turned my red lipstick black!I got the soft serve black ice cream near the whale bones and sat on the harbour to enjoy it. Trillos is a must visit.

The woman serving the icecream was so miserable. Eventually said thank you. The raspberry and cream tasted more like sorbet. No flavour and icey.

Tried the cider toffee ice cream which was gorgeous. Unfortunately our Trillo's experience was dampened by the miserable woman who served us. I've seen a happier smile on a baboons backside! Surely it's not that difficult to find appropriate staff in Whitby Mr Trillo?

Stopped here to sample the ice cream after a friend recommended it to me. We were not disappointed... Generous portion and lovely flavours: mint choc chip for my husband with lots of choc chip and Whitby Gothic for me (blackcurrant and liquorice). Very nice and lovely and creamy.

Trillos is one of the best places to visit for an ice cream when in Whitby. I recently opted for a jet black whippy ice cream. It looked really good and even came in a jet black cone. It was tasty however beware - my face, teeth, tongue, fingers etc. were covered in black ice cream dye. Luckily, I was out with a 5 year old and baby wipes were on hand! It was a fun novelty but I will not be having one again. I will be opting for a usual ice cream next time.

Stopped off at the ice cream van at the stop of the pier near the Whale bones. On the menu it said "whitby goth ice cream" (or something similar) and I asked for one, only to be told "no, I don't have electricity up here, go to the pier kiosk". So off we go, slightly disgruntled by her manner and we head down to the kiosk. Greeted by a young man "out of stock " and that was that. I know it's only ice cream but the staff really need to learn some people skills and manners. We were slightly annoyed too as there are people raving about this ice cream, in particular the black ice cream. I am sure the quality of their products is great.

this hut has been here since I was a child and is still serving excellent quality ice cream. As well as the usual Mr Whippy style ice cream they now do a Whitby Jet ice cream which is like its name suggests extremely black and served on a black cone as well. It tastes just as good as their other ice cream but does stain your teeth and tongue foe a while but that's just part of the fun

Black, like my soul. Tasty, like ice cream. Charcoal apparently doesn't agree with me very well, but it was tasty and the service was good. You can't digest charcoal, so this WILL turn various secretions black for a couple of days.

Trillos of Whitby are our new suppliers of dairy ice creams and dry goods, the sales team were very helpful and more than willing to go above and beyond to supply us with hard to find products, we met the manager who introduced us to his team and allowed us to sample their ice creams and sorbets.

The ice cream we had was lovely. I actually thought it was the black ice cream I was ordering but it wasn’t the young lad in their was very ignorant, he snatched the money then basically threw the change in to my hand!! He needs to learn some manners. Not to mention when I got to the front of the queue (many behind me) he went out of the kiosk to talk to somebody!

Welcome great, room small but only in it few hours each day stay in 1 week with coach tour. Staff the best.Chef is excellent food presentation Fantastic . Could not fault it.Lots to do in hotel and area around. Bar not over priced as a lot of hotels are. We will go again ASAP. Manager very hands on and very pleasant, One young lady (girl) stood out served coffee after meal and helped our small team with quiz answers. She should have award as staff member of the year. Lovely young lady.

Another super weekend of music at the Crescent Hotel! Thurs eve was Blues with the wonderful Alastair James, Friday was Open Mic night, Saturday was Nils' (Events&Bar Manager) 40th Birthday with a great Oasis tribute band and DJ sets until 3am and then tonight we listened to the talented singer&guitarist, Jack Robertson, who covers songs from Dylan to the Arctic Monkeys. The bar staff are endlessly chirpy, efficient and friendly. Thanks all. I'm looking forward to events such as Rocky Horror, Punk Rock and Swing Nights as well as the regular Blues night.......

What a find! This has been the loveliest meal we have had this year. The food is beautiful, my husband had haddock and loved it. I had rib of beef and it was just delightful some of the best food I have had. The landlord was super lovely and nothing was too much trouble. The staff were lovely and attentive but not over bearing. The menu gives lots of choice and there is a brilliant gin menu. They are dog friendly too so we all had a wonderful time- thank you. We have booked up for Sunday lunch when we are next on holiday over here. I couldn’t recommend this place enough

Gorgeous place to come to and is always on our list as a ' must go to'when we are in Filey. Beautiful setting and everything here is really delicious. The lemon meringue tart and coffee cake are to die for. It's lovely sitting outside and enjoying the sunshine. Sadly it was raining today and as we have a dog we couldn't go in, there was some seating under a canopy for the ice creams but sadly for us just a bit too chilly to sit out. It is cash only so that is something to always remember when visiting.
