Afternoon all We're still in Birmingham. In the Jewellery Quarter. We were thinking of Otto for pizza. Not open at lunch times. Doh... Happened, purely by chance upon Trentina which was quite close by. A joyous discovery. Highly recommended if in this area. We had the following House salad Courgette mint garlic and buffalo mozzarella Salsa rossa grilled asparagus Calamarata with tuna, San Marzano tomatoes, capers, taggiasche olives. Each dish was delightful. The house salad especially. Lovely mix of lettuce, peach, mozzarella, walnuts, and seeds. Calamarata cooked al dente. Perfect.

I left restaurant just 3 hours ago and I already told 3 strangers about our amazing dinner. Delicious, simple, flavoursome. I am almost tempted to drive back from London just to go for dinner there again.

A restaurant that had lots of people talking with mixed reviews fedback to me, but keen to see for myself, we made a booking. The first thing that strikes you is that is a very short menu (probably thanks to Gordon Ramsey on Hells Kitchen highlighting the importance of not having an overly extensive menu, but I would say this was to the other extreme). Being a limited menu, you expect what you order to be top notch. Arrabiata I thought! A delicious, simple dish that should be impossible to go too far wrong with. Overpowered with salt and garlic, it was actually inedible. It was highlighted to staff who have hopefully fed this back to the kitchen. My friend chose the pork ragu, which he was pleased with, and after offering me a taste I could agree it was the much better dish. Disappointing when operating on a limited menu, it shouldn't really be that way. It's also very expensive for what it is. Much nicer Italians in the JQ, consistently providing good service and food at more reasonable prices I.e Cucina Rustica. Glad I've tried it, and relatable mixed review feedback but I won't go back.

Lovely authentic unpretentious Italian restaurant with friendly staff and great tasty and wholesome food which was very fresh and well presented . With the corner aspect and bi fold doors onto the street it provided a little taste of Italy in the heart of Birmingham

Italian food at its very best, you will not find a more authentic Italian food experience in the midlands. Incredible friendly team, great wine list but the food is the absolute star, with vegetable, fish and meat dishes served in a very informal relaxed environment. Well done team Trentina, special mention to Chef Elliot Brown for delivering a great menu 👍👏👏🇮🇹

What a wonderful find. The food was delicious, we had a main of monkfish and a starter of scallops, both were beautifully cooked and it was washed down with a bottle of pinot that was also first class. Would highly recommend, great service and lovely surroundings.
