Bleak - terrible disco funk music, mercilessly loud. Coffee is mostly milk - hopefully early days and some consideration for customers will become more evident with time.

Looked average and very busy so didn’t hold out great hopes….. but the Italian vegetable focaccia was so delicious; ricotta such a change from bog standard mozzarella ; lashings of pesto which was NOT over salted ; bread nice and crunchy. The ultimate test: I ate slowly to make it last . 10/10

Unimpressed. This place did not live up to expectations at all...it is poncy, very expensive and the food item I ordered was just not what I expected and was under-cooked, oddly presented and awkward to eat - I won't go into detail as don't want to sound petty and it detracts from the greater point of this review. The staff were cold and I fully agree with the previous reviewer about the unsatisfactory menu for a community/family orientated park. I don't generally like to leave negative reviews, I usually just don't leave one if a bit disappointed with a place but on this occasion I'm having to speak out. This 'cafe' needs replacing with a decent, affordable, traditional community cafe with nice friendly staff - unhappy/grumpy looking staff tell you a lot about a place. I have to concur with the previous reviewer. Such a shame as this beautiful park needs a decent cafe.

We visited today for lunch, with 3 children under the age of 5..No children’s menu, understandable, not everyone has one.. It is a very large park with numerous play areas for children, so why would you have a children’s menu!!! Never mind, there has to be something suitable to feed these hungry kids. Absolutely nothing, not a thing but fancy sandwiches that most children would turn their noses up at (ok, let’s be fair, there was a cheese & ham toastie for £8). Fancy cakes, fancy pastries. I mean, what family park cafe doesn’t have chips for Gods sake!, or a plain chicken sandwich? Or even scrambled egg on toast? Simple fair for a simple cafe in the park. And £8 for a cheese & ham toastie for a 3 year old that will have only 1-2 bites.. Normally you would see lots of children here. Ours were the only ones. I’m not surprised. Definitely not catering for their customers. In fact I looked around and most people were having drinks only. The glass cabinets inside were very full..Moral of the story? If you have children who eat anything & everything you’ll be ok. If not don’t even waste your time. We had to walk to Cockfosters. We fed all our group fish & chips. Thank goodness for Chippers. It was delicious.😀

This is a complete rip off with poor hygiene standards. I’d rather go hungry and disappoint my children next time (even suffer the whining and tears). One single scoop ice cream for my youngest child (not even used with a proper scoop but a spoon) was placed in a sprinkle cone. No price advertised. My eldest then asked for a cookie. She selected the white chocolate chip which wasn’t particularly large. When I was told £7.30, I asked for a breakdown and was told that the single scoop alone was £3.50 and the cone was an extra £1. The cookie was £2.80. What’s more is that I noticed they were selling the Costco carrot cake so can only assume cookies had come from Costco and knowing their prices, a very large mark-up would have been placed. This is terrible value for money and wasn’t even served with any kind of smile. I also noticed they were selling mini Twister ice lollies which I believe come in multi packs with a “not to be sold” separately. God knows how much they charge for one of those. Hygiene standards are not great either as I witnessed the staff member offer a child in front of us in the ice cream queue to try the Oreo sprinkles and he was allowed to put his hands in the pot! Wouldn’t go back here again. Stay clear!

Not impressed. I placed an order to be told 30mins wait as kitchen was busy. OK that was fine. 40 mins later I chased the order up twice. Apparently the milk shake had been left on the counter but I wasn't told. The burger arrived under done without chips which apparently they couldn't supply and no apology. They did eventually bring them but were slung on the table. My jacket potato was hot and tasty but the salad was horrible. The staff are always miserable and unhelpful whenever we go. I paid £25.60. Stopped to buy ice cream for my Grandson. He usually has a cornetto from the display fridge. The display fridge was empty. In its place is various tubs full, full of different flavours of an iced concoction they pass off as ice cream to unsuspecting customers. It was £4.00 for one scoop. My Grandson wanted the fluorescent blue one. I was scared of the look and colourings, and so refused and made him have the safe option of the white one. He had a couple of licks and didn't like it. I tried it was vile. The dog ate it though, and as we left he was sick. The staff were miserable. The cafe inside, at best is unkempt looking. The reason for 1 star is because the outside seating is pretty. My advice would be to avoid this place.

I'm fairly sure that only the scantest regard is being paid here to Covid-19. Business is brisk, the outdoor area is strewn with litter, the food is somewhere on the "edible" to "average" end of the spectrum, whilst still being reassuringly expensive. The customer makes most of the running, the cafe seems short-staffed and inhospitable. I don't for a moment doubt that times are very hard, but on a busy Bank Holiday Monday we left the cafe feeling pretty disturbed. One for the local council, I'd hazard.

This cafe is situated on the edge of woods in the lovely Trent Park. That unfortunately is the best that can be said of this dire establishment. The outdoor seating area is just filthy - rubbish bins upended and the area strewn with food waste, polystyrene trays, face masks etc. The main cafe and the outbuildings are very shabby / poorly maintained and the service is absolutely glacial. I waited over half an hour while only 6 people ahead of me were served. During school holidays only 1 person was at the counter while several customers complained about the inordinate delay with their cooked food orders. No cutlery or napkins were evident and my reminding staff politely of this was met with complete indifference / incomprehension. It’s a real mystery why the Trent Country Park authorities allow this cafe with its poor reviews to sully their own reputation. Never again.

First up, there are TWO cafés in Trent Park, and TripAdvisor has got the postcode of this one wrong. It says EN4 0PS, but that's the postcode of Trent Park's other, much nicer café at the Wildlife Rescue and Ambulance Service, plumb in the middle of the park. This café, "Trent Park Café", is at the western side of the park, about 200m from the main entrance on Cockfosters Rd. Its postcode is EN4 0JY. There's something wrong with Trent Park Café; I don't think the staff here are happy, and it shows. No smiling; selective deafness. Once you've waited in a queue that moves forward like a snail on Valium, to finally be greeted with a brusque "Yes?" and a determination not to do anything quickly, you feel that, as a customer, you're the problem. You're not welcome here. If you buy ice cream, you can't pay at the ice cream counter; instead you have to wander across, cornet in hand, and basically push in to the snail queue in order to pay. Given how long they've been waiting, the other customers won't appreciate it. And the staff will do their best to ignore your apologetic appeals. "I'm so sorry, could I just pay for... hello?"Do yourself a favour: leave, and walk to the café at the Wildlife Centre; it's only 10 minutes down the straight drive, but the experience is light years away. Here, they are glad to see you, and smile. If you have four drinks to carry, they offer you a tray. And the profits support sick animals. One more thing: back at the Trent Park Café, they have those yummy little Biscoff biscuits that other cafés put in your saucer for free. Here, each tiny biscuit will cost you 50p. Turn on your heel and let the market do its job: take your custom where it's wanted.

Poor service, the staff are rude, they make you feel like a real inconvenience to them. Maybe this is due to lack of experience or not enough training? They also seem to struggle in taking any order that's slightly off script, for instance; asking for a food item to be substituted or removed. In some ways this café can get away with it high prices and limited food quality because of its fantastic location, in one of North London's most beautiful parks. I presume that is why it is often very busy. Contrary to some of the other comments, I have found the staff to be friendly and helpful enough, and the food and coffee tolerable (though it should be noted that I am not very fussy) However, what will prevent me from returning is the use of disposable plastic to supply many of the products; especially cold drinks, and their failure provide sustainable alternatives. Many smaller businesses with much more limited turnovers in profit are now using paper straws and providing all drinks in reusable cups. There is no excuse for a business of this scale not being more environmentally aware.

I took my sister, mum, gran and the dog with me to this cafe. After looking for a no dogs allowed sign and seeing other dogs in there, we sat down inside. Mum went to order and Dane back to our table. Shortly later a waitress came to us with the wrong order. My sister explained you could tell it was the wrong order by the times on the receipts but she didn’t understand and took the receipt off us. Another woman came out and looked at the receipt with mum and didn’t apologise for messing it all up, just argued more then took the food away along with the receipt that mum needed. The same woman then came out again, glared at me and said “no dogs” (at a park cafe?!). There were other dogs in there! So we went outside without the receipt or table number. Mum went back in to get the receipt and they just gave her her money back! Not all of it and just said “well you’ve had drinks haven’t you?” No apology, nothing. I had a little word. Advised them to apologise when they screw up...whoever owns this place...you need to employ better staff who speak English properly and have some kind of customer service- or even just people skills!

They threw the wrong sandwich at me and then when I explained I had ordered a different type then proceeded to have a go at me and explained I had got it wrong.

Very badly run, staff not wanting to be there, food really cheap and bad quality. Absolutely waste of money. Lovely location but I rather bring my own lunch and sit on the grass.

We've been coming to this cafe for years but our last visit confirmed our suspicions of a terminal decline. As the only people ordering food we had an unacceptable wait despite being told it was coming twice It eventually turned up after I asked for a refund. The baguette was an uncooked part-bake with no salad. The staff were unconcerned and clearly have no desire to ensure their customers are looked after.

I have been to this cafe twice recently and both times i have been left wanting to not go again. The staff are totally unfriendly and not welcoming. Service is slow and they do not serve hot drinks for children so no babychinos or hot chocolate. You can of course buy and adult size hot chocolate which a child would never finish for the full price. Also if you mention that a smaller size is needed, the staff begin to argue and do not care. Horrendous place!

Have visited here a few times now and each time the service has been very poor. The staff seem to be bothered if you ask them anything and come across as incredibly unhelpful. Have heard others complain their crockery was unclean. If you are expecting service with a smile go elsewhere. It's a shame as the settings are perfect.

Myself and four other tables had to ask for our money back today after waiting way too long for our food. I ordered two toasted sandwiches and after a 45 minute wait outside in the cold, it was time to ask what happened to our order. I was greeted by the most rudest, sour faced members of staff who said “we have a problem in the kitchen and your sandwiches will be another 20-25 minutes”. When I said I couldn’t wait and wanted my money back, she gave me the filthiest look and literally chucked the money at me.

Went here with a friend based on recommendations. Ordered chicken, mozzarella, avocado and pesto paninis. "New" said the menu. Took half an hour to arrive. Were baguettes not paninis. Poor quality catering chicken. No avocado, no pesto. Some kind of tasteless green smear here and there. Questioned waitress, she indignantly told us the avocado and pesto was "a blend". Otherwise a nice, clean venue under the trees. My advice is: stick to a few well made choices please. Or get someone who gives a damn to run the place - recreating a rubbish British eating experience from decades ago is not a sustainable business model.

We visited on a rainy sunday. The cafe wasnt that busy, however the service failed to reflect that. Stoney faced, non receptive people behind the counter. Can we have some milk pls for our americano..........grunt, no eye contact. Awful, go to hockey club nearby, much better welcome. The coffee is ok but with service that, why would u bother. I wont in future. Shame, nice setting awful people and dear!

Nice location to have this cafe immersed in-a beautiful park family friendly which also includes a ‘Go Ape’ section. A good menu is offered and there is nice outside seating as well as seating indoors. The staff weren’t particularly friendly however and took a while to serve me. I had a nice baguette but you had a choice of crisps or salad with it and I was confused as to why they couldn’t do both. A popular place with good quality food. Heard their salads are tasty with generous portions also.

New staff needed! Had to leave without breakfast today as they forgot my order, then misunderstood new order twice, by which time we needed to go. Only one member of staff cooking and making coffees, lady didn't appear sure of what to do. No apology forthcoming at all - very disappointing!

Whilst waiting for drinks one waitress was constantly fiddling with her hair then preparing drinks. Through the hatch into the kitchen I saw a man do a massive sneeze not covering his face. I hate to think how far and wide those germs went.

As a 'Local Authority Concession' Barnet Council must take some responsibility for this establishment.. This cafe prides itself on providing poor quality expensive food / ice creams whilst making you feel like they are doing you a favour!! Really, Barnet Council have also only awarded them a 2 out of 5 'Scores on the doors'. As a food establishment if you're only hitting 2 then you really dont care... Barnet need to step in and resolve this... Such a shame as Trent Park is gorgeous. However, Barnet Council and the cafe let it down.

We asked for half a portion of chips for my 4 year old and the waitress said it’s not possible as she couldn’t reach her manager to ask permission. Gave me the impression the management of this place is pretty uptight which may explain why the grumpy staff have been mentioned in this place a few times! The welcome from the staff was warm and welcoming. The coffee and hot chocolate reasonably priced. Both were served in good time, were hot and tasted good. Sitting outside in the warm sunshine on comfortable chairs was just great. Must do it again, soon.

I visited your establishment and felt the need to contact about just how awful my experience was I waited half an hour for a burger and when it came it was the worst tasting meat I have ever had, it was very low quality that contained lots of hard balls of fat and sinew which caused me to have to spit it out I had complained to staff and they just stared back blankly and offered no resolution I’ve tried using your cafe multiple times where often it would be shut or over half your menu unavailable I am thoroughly disappointed and will not be recommending this to any of my peers

A party of 7 all meeting for lunch. Got shown to table but no mention at this time you have to order food from the bar. 4 of the party have obvious mobility problems so this advice would have been useful. When asked the only 2 bar staff to take food orders we were told do not have a machine to do table service.Come on Ember inns this is the 21st century, I,m sure we still have paper and pen still in operation at other pubs.Bar staff slow with only one staff able to log in to computer. Food on the whole very good. Be prepared to get blocked in the car park after 4pm with people arriving!

Each time we visit Enfield we make sure to visit The King and Tinker. It is a charming pub, full of history, and there has been an ale house there for more than 1000 years. It has real olde world pub charm and a wonderfully cosy feel. My absolute favourite on the menu is the lamb shank - beautifully cooked and extremely reasonably priced. The steak pie is a favourite of my husband's and never disappoints. We were hosted by Toni - a lovely lady with extensive knowledge of the pub trade and with a friendly and warm personality. Definitely try it if you are in the area - you won't be disappointed!
