Stopped off at Coultons Bar Trefnant after a long drive from South Wales We had Fish and Chips They were the best fish and Chips I've ever tasted Will definitely go again and would highly recommend Service was good Friendly Staff

Amazing food, lovely atmosphere, relaxed comfortable setting. Will definitely return. Food was hot homemade and family of 4 with no complaints. Highly recommend. Great menu choices too desserts looked fab but we had no room lol.

This place is great. Since moving to St Asaph in March we have visited a number of times. Fantastic food, friendly staff, great price and spotless. Once again we have enjoyed a delicious meal this evening!

We all had burgers, the food was to a great standard. Fresh loaded burger, loaded fries and coleslaw. It was very busy so the kitchen staff did really well to get it all out together. £10pp - Fab

I come here quite often and have family meals when there’s an occasion as the food is always spot on with no disappointments ever. Food is great I can’t doubt that the chef who I believe is the owner is wonderful so friendly! but the management is poor We usually come for food every month or so and the service was always on point Ever since the manager left and hasn’t been replaced I believe a few months ago now , things have gone down hill She kept things in line the staff were doing their jobs but now think they can do anything And just sitting on tables looking like a lost puppy!! We came in for lunch and the bar maid was sat on the counter with a vape in her hand on her phone doing jack all I’m not really the one to review but if I was the owner I would be screaming for the manager back, The manager was so friendly *even tho young* she knew how to handle anything and provided the best customer service. Always had a great smile and made us feel welcome. The last time we visited we felt rushed even tho there were only 3 other tables in. It looks like the staff just wanted to get home * we booked our table for 7:30* We have been on many occasions where the manager made me and my partner more comfortable because of the way she treated us. I’ve worked in bars/restaurants for years so I know what it’s like but when the manager was there everything was such attention to detail and now it’s just the workers who don’t give 2 s I feel for the owner it’s such a shame to see this beautiful pub turn into a mess I will sadly say I will not be returning here. Such a shame

We had a fantastic lunch. The trio of butcher's sausages on a bed of proper mash in a bowl with a sea of delicious onion gravy and with a very large braised carrot and broccolli. We followed that with a very tasty rhubarb and apple crumble and custard.

Amazing two visits here. Normal menu Friday night so much yummy food and mega good value for money. Then Sunday lunch oh my word. What a service, food was to die for and we were in and out (not rushed) in 50 mins on MOTHERS DAY. Dan you serve a cracking meal!!

Huge variety on the menu, something for everyone. All 4 in our party thoroughly enjoyed our starters and mains. The sticky chicken noodles that I had were fabulous. Very friendly staff. We again had a lovely meal here on the 4.2.24! I have explored the wide range of delicious dishes available on the extensive menu which in all honestly have superseded my expectations, however my all time favourite so far is the Roast dinner! I became aware of the establishment through social media. Whereby many friends and acquaintances were frequent visitors, the photos in which were posted encouraged me to book a table, I can honestly say it was one of my best decisions! I have a couple of favourite eateries, this place now being up there! This hidden little gem continues to prove itself, not only to me but to my guests I invite to sample their food! My mother who lives in Abersoch now regularly makes the drive over mid week and at the weekend for their outstanding dishes. I tend to always choose the Honey roast Ham dinner with additional cauliflower cheese as a perfect side. The standard of food served here is second to none, the meat is cooked to perfection, the creamed mashed potatoes is to a perfect consistency, the homemade roast potatoes cooked to perfection, served with a selection of seasonal vegetables. Completed with a homemade Yorkshire pudding filled with parsnip crisps, stuffing and homemade rich, tasty gravy, topped with a side order of homemade cauliflower cheese cooked to perfection. I can never finish a child’s portion due to one, my pregnancy and two the generous portion sizes, however on numerous occasions the dedicated staff have boxed up my uneaten food and prepared it ready for home in the takeaway boxes available. As a regular diner I am not afraid to make requests, ask for specifics or menu adjustments and on occasions pointed out when asked any issues which I feel will benefit other diners or honest opinions when asked “ How was your food?”. I can honestly say to date I have never had to raise any concerns, issues or give any negative feedback at this establishment. I’d also like to point out the staff whom are employed here literally go above and beyond. Nothing is ever to much trouble, they have an impeccable set of skills which from a managerial perspective is wonderful to observe. They are pleasant upon approach and have a sense of warmth about them with a can do attitude, like previously mentioned I regularly visit eateries and can/have been put off by poorly performing staff who don’t compliment the dining experience, the management team here clearly have a happy workforce which shows in their conduct and mannerisms! The service, experience, quality of food, consistency of high standards and value for money is what draws me back here over and over, coined with the atmosphere and location makes this hidden little gem my guilty pleasure!

This is within a mile of where I live I often go with friends or family I would say at minimum I eat here once a month I have never had a bad meal The food is varied and of a very high quality highly recommend

The food was amazing and the chef went out of his way to make a pie for my sister(who has special needs) with onion rings as the top of the pie as she loves them. Saturday afternoon Christmas menu. Absolutely lovely food. Very tasty starter, main meal and sweet. My only one comment is that 1 carrott and red cabbage was a bit of a let down, some more traditional veg would of been amazing.

This use to be a really good local pub, now it’s just been ruined and took the heart out the village, also food is terrible and over priced

Best pub grub ever!! We stayed at the plas Isaf lodge about 10mins up the road from this pub and went here on a whim. We had a kids meal, 2 pies and a chicken stir fry and all of it was amazing. The meal sizes were big and the food was so tasteful, best pie I have ever had!

Food beautifully cooked, and displayed. Pork Belly & Garlic cheese bread, to start. It was yummy. Chicken & Bacon & honey roast ham mains. Washed down with a nice beer. Definitely will be back, reasonably priced and spacious seating.

A menu that really has so much choice, and food that was sumptuous to eat. The pub is either going through a refit, or just had one, but when it is back up and populated again will be really atmospheric! Lovely pub, hope to come back one day.

We walked in noticed the piles of dead flies, trailing wires, dirty cutlery, uncleared tables, wall heater that had fallen off, the disgusting smell and so we walked straight back out. The staff only noticed us as we were leaving. AVOID.

Family meal out with my wife and daughter ,sat opposite the chef /kitchen area , had starters ,main and drinks... Food was great, credit to the chef who appeared to take pride in the preparation of every meal ,and all meals looked delectable. A very pleasant experience, will be visiting again soon we hope .

Had a large takeout on Saturday for my daughters birthday, we ordered 18 meals in total. Food was very well presented, and stayed hot till I arrived home. Everyone in my family commented on how lovely everything was, really good portions and price too. Will definitely be going back and would recommend to others

Went to try out the new menus and they did not disappoint! The Omelettes were nice and fluffy and The new chorizo linguini is to die for!! Glad to be served by a smiley waitress who was delightful all service. Also glad they’ve fixed the toilets now looks much better. Will definitely be back soon!

The food is excellent. There is fabulous deals too. 2 for £20 in the week,Friday grill night save £5 and Saturday night £10 burger night which is our favourite 👍 The food is absolutely great, very tasty and fresh. The toilets need attention and some decor but overall great value

The food was lovely. But the toilets were awful. Also the glasses that the drinks were in weren't clean at all. My son had a j20 and I found black bits floating. I had a pint of shandy had to take it back as found black bits in my drink. I don't think the glasses had been washed properly personally. I won't be going back until they sort the toilet smell out and also they have clean glasses as they had a funny smell in the glasses. Couldn't fault the food though

Saw the advert for a beef dinner on line & not having transport I phoned our local Denbigh Doordash delivery to pick up a beef dinner, only grief I had was when I ordered the background music that blasted Down the phone just wasn’t necessary, the young lady should have moved away from the music as I could not hear her at all but I ordered a beef dinner & it was as hot as it left & spelt absolutely lovely & plenty too I don’t like broccoli so that was wasted but everything else - 2 big roast potatoes, 1 big roast carrot, mashed potatoes, red cabbage & that was lovely - a big Yorkshire pudd & loads of roast beef & a pot of gravy, it was a treat to have & so pleased I did & yes I will order again - there are cheaper Sunday roasts around Denbigh but I doubt if any would be better - thank you

My wife and I were staying with our mums at Ruthin Castle Hotel and Spa and chose this place for an evening meal out. It was a great choice with a good menu offering a wide range of freshly made foods covering all tastes. The starters were large but lovely and the mains really good. We tried the beef pie and green Thai curry both fabulous flavour and value. I had to try the sticky toffee pudding as it was with custard! Yummy! Good service and good to see an open kitchen.

Ordered Takeout Sunday Lunch and it was delicious! Everything was cooked to perfection and we were all stuffed by the end :) The meat was tender and the parsnip crisps are a delightful touch! Can never go wrong with their Biscoff cheesecake for dessert☺️
