Treborth Garden Centre in Gwynedd

Served two cold fried eggs which were awful, chips were ok but over cooked. Then proceeded to the shop counter to pay for 4 trays of violas and 2 door mats approx £34.00. A woman serving was extremely rude and unhelpful, she would not allow me to carry the plants in the baskets to the car although I was parked just outside in the disabled section. Two other customers could not believe her attitude and kindly helped me. On leaving a member of staff told me the woman was called Sharon and several complaints had been made against her. She is definitely not an asset to your business..

We was a group of 7 adults and 2 young toddlers age 1 !We ordered and was told food would be 30-40 minutes ! 1 hour afterwards we asked where the food was it arrived in drip and drabs ! The quality of food was nothing to what I have had here before ! When asked for the manager she was not available! Lowri took over the situation and handled our concerns very well ! Could have said a lot more about the food but I won’t as Lowri was very good on trying to make the situation better

I attended the cafe yesterday with my mother in law. We was greeted with warm welcomes by the young girls. I always stop of here before I go to the hospital with my mother-in law. Wish I could come more often as the staff always choose my puddings for us. And advice us which is the best deserts to choose. Thank you all for always giving me a good experience especially helping me take my stuff to the table as I’m in a wheelchair. See you all soon :)-

I love coming here. The gardening centre has a wide range of plants and gardening tools, and the food in the cafe is to die for. The staff are always happy to help and the venue is always clean. I regulary take trips here with family members and I find it plesant. Would highly recommend the home made cakes.

Awful customer service and poor staff attitude. We ordered two breakfasts and a kids pizza and chips. The pizza was a frozen 99p pizza that came without the chips - i wouldn’t even feed this to my child at home never mind paying for it when eating out! The breakfast was precooked and reheated, with no tomato as stated on menu! They also forgot the toast and when reminded they brought us one slice of cold burnt toast to share! Will not be returning. Shame as it used to be a lovely place to eat.

Where do I begin? No queue when we walked in so went to stand by the tills where there were 3 members of staff congregated. One standing by the till, another dipping cutlery in hot water and wiping them off and another making tea/coffee. Stood for approx. 10 minutes with various glances from the till and cutlery member of staff but no acknowledgement or a can I help you? Eventually another member of staff came along and just looked at me, I asked if I could order food, she said I had to go back down the counter about 6 foot to place my order (couldn't really understand as there was no one behind me) so i walked a few paces to be able then to order my food. A woman with long blonde hair was dishing out the food for some other order and she was swearing, huffing and puffing, slating other staff members and saying she needed a Zanex and was going to get so pissed that night because she was fed up (not really what needed to be heard when just going out for food). To be fair the food was decent but unfortunately the service was very very poor, seems like very little motivation and very unhappy staff. It was as if the customers were an inconvenience.

Not much I can say about this café too be honest.We ordered two teas and two cakes from the counter staff who looked shocked that we had approached the counter, let alone want serving!!!We sat down and my partner said the cake she had was rock hard and dry and she was going to return it.She said to the young asian lady behind the counter that the cake was hard and received the reply " Oh, ok thanks" and walked off leaving my partner stood by the counter, rock hard cake in hand. She looked a little bemused when she returned to find my partner still standing there and asked what she was expected to do with it?All staff here are young and all look as though they really dont want to be here and if the management got off their backsides once in a while to check up on them they would see this.

Cannot recommend Treborth Garden Centre enough for a Sunday lunch. The portions are generous, perfectly cooked veg ( not trendily half-cooked) and lovely staff!

Very first visit here. We travelled a considerable distance to get there. We went for a snack and to purchase a set of garden furniture. A major purchase for us.The cafe staff are dreadful, sorry to say. They spend most of the time with their back to you. Uniforms are dreadful and surely don't comply with Environmental Health requirements. Blonde assistant needs to find other more suitable work away from any contact with customers!!It took an hour to purchase the garden furniture. We spent £1500 so you would expect a decent level of service- no chance.We also bought the recommended cover.While waiting to pay the blonde cafe assistant came walking through the store eating a tray of chips with curry. !! What a sight that was. Dreadful.Once home we realised we had been sold the wrong cover so had to return.On our return we were told refunds aren't given and we would have to accept a credit note.I pointed out the cover was the one they had given us and didn't fit. A manager was duly called.We were then forced to listen to three members of staff moaning about hours, pay, conditions etc.Duty Manager arrived and advised we could have a refund after I pointed out the item wasn't fit for purpose and as I lived 80 miles away a credit note wasn't an options as I plan never to return!I feel sorry for the owners as they must be unaware but they need to get a grip and employ decent managers and staff. Finally, my advice, get rid of the blonde in the cafe!

Prior to Covid we've had several meals at Treborth. It was generally cheap and cheerful but well cooked food and good value. We were passing a few days ago and called in for lunch. The lunchtime rush had passed and there were plenty of staff behind the counter but most of these soon disappeared. My partner went to order and stood for about ten minutes before getting served. Scampi and a burger were ordered and so we waited. After about 15 minutes my partner spotted our meals on the kitchen serving hatch waiting to be served. After a further ten minutes a member of staff picked them up and then put them down and disappeared into the kitchen. Another ten minutes passes and the the member of staff re-appeared collected our meals and served them to us. Both meals were only lukewarm. We complained and sent the meals back. After another ten minutes our meals arrived again. Now the meals were hot. The scampi and the chips and the burger tasted of rancid fat. We ate part of the meal and left. We will never eat at this so called cafe again

We have visited many times, service and food on this visit was very poor.We were informed of a 40 minute wait when the cafe was 25% capacity.I have never seen such shocking attempts to wear a mask to protect the public. Serving staff constantly playing with their hair, a food hygiene no no. They displayed a couldn’t be bothered or care attitude. We will think twice before visiting again. Very sad and disappointed. I’m going to report to the authorities.

I am a local person and every time I go to treborth garden centre I am faced with shocking customer service. I came in to buy silk flowers for a holiday cottage I manage and I asked 3 members of staff where their oasis was and each staff member pointed to the general location and each time it was wring. A lady who works in the cafe I thought was taking me to it only to walk behind the counter of the cafe and start serving! I was left standing there like a fool...when I approached her to complain she argued back and started giggling and pointing at me like a child. In the end a fellow customer told me where it was. I think they need some customer service training...plant area trained staff etc. I am happy to say that the girl on the til was excellent. I will not be returning and will use the amasing Fron Goch garden centre from now on.

was a good breakfast to be honest, only thing that was letting it down was the price on a can of fanta(£1.70) way to much,and the toilets were not very nice at all.

Dogs welcome, lovely store and cafe. We had a great time. Will be back reguarly. Snacks foe the dogs also in the store and great parking.

Waited 20 minutes to be served. Food was terrible. Cold eggs and raw chips. Serving staff were completely disorganized. Wont be coming again.

Due to a local pub only accepting apps I decided to try the restaurant for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised how quick the service was even though very busy. I ordered vegetable lasagne which came with salad and my son had burger and chips. Very good portions, nicely presented and very reasonably priced. I keep forgetting about this hidden gem but it really is a nice restaurant. Fresh home made food and pleasant staff.

I could have been an undercover shopper at the store . 1 no welcome pr polite greeting not even a thank you or have a good day 2 i am aware that the corvid is around but please try and make your customer happy and feel they can come back again 3 surely it doe not take three members of staff to look over one item been sold . 3 management please look at your feed back]k and comment so you could imprve and listen to your customer man y thanks was i a undercover shopper you decide yes or know

Came across the rudest woman on the till today ..am sure there are lots of people that would appreciate your job and be a lot more pleasant and helpful ..I am local and have been coming here for years but this woman was so repulsive that I won't be coming back .

Saw a member of staff brush her long hair in kitchen. She stood with her back to a pile of plates and containers of food items. So pretty obvious where any bits and pieces from her hair went.

Very disappointed this morning and on many previous visits . Cafe Staff were rude. Lack of hygiene. E. G long loose hair. Another with cardigan and long furry collar on it which could easily capture germs.Astonished to see a Mug carried to the table by a member of staff gripped by its rim rather than the handle. Could not see the food hygiene rating sticker displayed in the cafeMaybe the sign above the kitchen door reflects their attitude I KISS BETTER THAN I COOK

We visited the cafe in Treborth garden Center. Oh dear it was awful. Ordered two soup and sandwiches. After half an hour I went to query the whereabouts of our food. Shortly after it arrived.The bread was dry and far from fresh. As for the pea and ham soup, well it was nothing like soup and not a pea or bit of ham to be seen either visually or in taste. It was a thick brown coloured gooey mass. My wife stood her spoon up in it and it didn’t fall over!Never again!

I visited on the 20th of October for lunch and was so disappointed of how bad this place has gone waited 30 mins for 2 Sandwiches and bowl of chips which when arrived was cold fish fingers and the chips it was not busy there at all about 10 people there all couples, there I saw throughout my time there 7 different members of staff but all the tables where covered in dirty dishes for that whole time we where there how can this be with so much members of staff, Treborth used to be a lovely cafe but not anymore, staff members on their mobiles behind the counter instead of doing their job, I always TripAdvisor Positive but today seeing this and I work in same industry with 4 members of staff has dishearted me

Called for standard breakfasts whilst staying in Bangor on holiday. When we eventually got served to order we sat waiting at the table for almost an hour and when the waitress did bring the food it was stone cold. Very disappointed and definitely not worth £4.50 per person or good food as they boast either!!!They sell a large variety of gifts and goods at the Garden Centre but the cafe is very poor & a maze to find as its not signposted. Definitely won't be back again.

The food was greasy and budget standard. The service was not good…the dark haired woman was rude and unfriendly. The place did not look or feel clean. Won’t be back.

Very disappointed with my meal today so was my husband..I had the chicken curry there was 2 little pieces of chicken in it ..it came on the plate with carrot,peas and turnip on the plate it was cold ..chips arrived in a bowl they were cold....husband's lasagne was full of oil it was dripping off the plate..will not recommend anyone to go here for food

Just been served by a girl with loose long brown hair hanging everywhere another with long blond hair down to her backside, no ponytails etc. One had a jacket on that came over her hands. And she had false nails an inch long painted white. She moved so slow, so did the one with blond hair. The highchair we got for my grandson was dirty. The cafe is well set up but needed brushing food everywhere. There were two lovely polite girls working who looked clean with tidy appearance.

To be fair the food was lovely! However the blonde waitress that was behind the counter needs to take more pride in her work and appearance as she wore her blonde long extensions that she kept flicking every 5 mins whilst handling food she should be washing her hands more often and tieing her hair up to prevent her hair falling everywhere. She also wore a green highvis gym looking top whilst all other staff members wore black plain clothing which resulted in her looking out of place and untidy. Whilst people where waiting to be served you had the blonde waittress standing about talking to the other staff member whilst playing about on her phone. She also kept making unnecesary and unpleaseant noises and laughing very loudly which resulted in the poor baby behind us waking up. And by the looks on the previous comments I would suggest talking and improving on the customer service.

It's very rare that I feel the need to leave a review on Tripadviser but this as a truly awful experience. My food arrived pretty quickly but my friends did not. I could see the meal sitting in the hatch with 3 members of staff standing next to it for 10 mins before I eventualy went over to ask for it, the blonde haired waitress then brought it to the table, put the plate in front of me and not my friend and just walked off, i then had to go back to the counter to ask for cutlery and was ignored by the now five members of staff behind the counter until i shouted EXCUSE ME!. There were lots of young staff on duty and seemed largely unsupervised.The food was terrible, mine was an overcooked burger in a cold bun with soggy bitty chips and my frends egg and chips was even worse as you can imagine after it had been sitting on the counter for ten minutes. I have worked in hospitality for many years and this is one of the worst things i've ever seen. AVOID THIS CAFE.

We ordered 4 breakfasts and unfortunately 2 of them were wrong when they arrived. It appeared that there was no management and unfortunately all the young staff did not have any guidance or support.Also do not use the toilets as they are disgusting.Unfortunately our family are unable to recommend the cafe at this garden centre.

Did a review in October 2018. Breakfast used to be beautiful but sadly quite poor now, won't be going back for a while for sure. Curry didn't even look like curry it was thick and dry. Staff attitude not changed being rude and arrogant, so obviously management don't care about customers having a good experience or they would of made an effort to improve things. Very sad and disappointing.

Cafe food gone down hill used to be lovely. Staff rude and make fun of customers. Big whale of a blonde girl mouthy.

So very disappointed with today's food! Waited 45 minutes for it. Beans cold and kids microwave pizza was rock hard. Lasagne came with salad, coleslaw &potato salad which looked like they were trying to avoid wasting new potatoes! The chips arrived later which were extremely bitty! Won't be visiting again!!

Arrived here after work at 5:20pm 25/08/21 with the understanding they were to close in a few minutes. I quickly went to the area I needed to go to, to have a quick look for something within the kitchen utensils. Having heard this 'girl' telling other shoppers to make their way to the till, she stopped at the end of my aisle and stated the same to me. I politely said 'yes I know I'm leaving now', as I started to leave the aisle she stood there giving me a dirty look lol! She walked away and purposedly said loudly, 'that she hated that THEY don't listen'..erm, love, give people a chance to walk out!! I was in the shop for less than 5 mins check your CCTV!! Seems based on previous reviews there seems to be quite the issue with staff, glad that they don't work with/nor for me! I'll be avoiding this store from now onwards. It's not the first time I've seen unprofessional behaviour/rudeness at this store, but this 'girl' was 'hilarious', anyhow, they lost a sale and I went elsewhere! Not sure why these staff think that they are entitled to have such an attitude and talk to customers however they want, but it seems it's because they get away with it!! Note to the managers/owners, you can complete relevant 'Customer Services' courses online and there's a college down the road! It seems that some of your staff, especially this particular individual, need to attend urgently. I'd be happy to point her out to you!! 10/10 for Rudeness and attitude!!

I used to use Treborth Garden Centre regularly but after my unbelievably stressful experience today I will NEVER return again. I have lived in Wales for a quarter of a century and to this day I have never encountered a more rude and wholly obnoxious individual! My husband had picked up a large bag of compost as I shopped for plants with my daughter, but when we met up I saw that it contained sphagnum moss and peat which I always try to avoid. When we got to the checkout I explained that I didn't want to purchase the compost and my husband kindly agreed to leave it back where he found it for her. I bought my plants etc and the check-out 'assistant' was already being rude, curt and decidedly unpleasant with me as she put each item through the till, but far far worse was to come. This 'assistant' called (in Welsh) for a young lad to go and check that my husband had returned the compost and this 'woman' stood with my receipt gripped in her hands until he came back in. Not ever having seen my husband he couldn't verify what she demanded of him so I asked politely whether she was actually accusing my husband of theft and she rudely replied 'well he hasn't put it back has he'!!!! I couldn't actually believe my ears, or her blatant ignorance so I asked for a manager, by which time my poor oblivious husband who had no knowledge of just having been loudly accused of theft came back in the shop to help carry my plants. A large queue had formed behind us and the only person to begrudgingly apologise to us was the manager, NOT the offensive individual who had been so cruelly presumptuous when my husband was just helping her out. After leaving the shop, a lovely Welsh man approached me and said he had seen and heard everything and was as shocked and appalled as me...he told me that she had blatantly accused my husband in Welsh of theft and I was left utterly dumfounded by how a store can be left in the hands of such awful individuals who have clearly never grasped the concept of manners or of customer service at all. I was so close to contacting the authorities to report this terribly slanderous experience but my husband wisely encouraged me to forget all about her as she clearly wasn't worth expending my energy on. I would rather die than go through such an experience once more so I strongly advise giving this place a very wide berth, unless you enjoy being grossly insulted and publicly slandered for no reason whatsoever.

We were able to purchase everything on our list which was great. However the lady at the checkout spoiled the experience - she was extremely rude and bossy. She had no patience whatsoever with us as customers who were not used to the complicated way of ordering the heavier goods at the entrance to the main store. She certainly requires some training as to customer care!

Used to eat here years ago and always had lovely food. Met a good friend here today for lunch and a catch up. No one around when i wanted to place an order for food, so went to the till to try and order only to be told i couldn’t order there. I was told to move to the other end of the counter where my order would be taken, where exactly the same person took my order! We both ordered toasties and some chips. The food arrived nicely presented but the plate was all greasy. Chips arrived and they were nearly black they were so overcooked and were barely warm. I asked for fresh chips and the lady assistant was very friendly and brought some fresh ones. These didn’t taste very nice either think it’s the fat they are cooked in. Managed to eat half of the toastie, best thing about it was the side salad and coleslaw!A friend of ours was just leaving as we arrived and she said a few people had sent their food back whilst she had been there. Definetely better places to have food. Tesco meal deal would be a better idea! Think they should stick to selling what they know best

The staff here are terrible, so rude and it seems you are an inconvenience for being there. It's time the management team had a review of their staff attitudes towards its customers, or order to get repeat business from local people..........

Service was terrible, waiting 50 minutes for food, staff attitude was that of indifference , no apologies. I can safely say I won't be coming back.

I don't write this review in a malicious way but managers / owners need to appreciate their staff are rude and there is no smiles or customer service unless it's asked for. Today the lad with the pony tail was rude to a customer, the girls stocking up the kitchen section were rude and not helpful and the woman on the till, late 50's poss 60's. Brown dark short hair, she was no smiles and made me feel like I was a nuisance. Everytime I go there the staff are always miserable and this impacts on the experience. Not all staff it just seems to be the till staff and them replenishing. Garden outdoors staff always pleasant. Managers need to acknowledge the review's and provide staff training on customer service. A smile goes a long way.

Unacceptable staff behaviour from the van hire department of the store. A female staff member has been extremely unprofessional, impolite, disrespectful, non helpful demonstrating disgusting attitude towards myself during my two day visit at the store. This staff member clearly had an attitude problem together with most of the other staff working at the store hence the previous reviews on trip advisor. To receive an inappropriate facial expression together with a stare as I entered the property on both days followed by being instantly ignored was unwelcoming and made me feel immediately uncomfortable. The member of staff was completely unapproachable. I WILL NEVER SET FOOT IN THIS STORE AGAIN NOR WOULD I RECOMMEND ANYONE ELSE TO DO SO IN THE FUTURE. KEEP AWAY!

Visited today to try and purchase garden furniture. Staff were extremely rude and incompetent when it came to negotiation on a shop floor display sun lounger. Maybe train staff to be more helpful,polite? Won't be returning... Also absolutely no social distance procedures in place.

Yet another horrendous lunch at Treborth Nursery. When will you ever learn !!!! The food on your counter even when has only just been put out is always nearly cold when it reaches the table Nobody shows any interest whatsoever. Why does anyone even bother to eat in your restaurant. Cold chips are not what you want for lunch your lasagne was awful it hadn't even browned properly on the top. A bottle of gaviscon was required by all of us after our meal. Gordon Ramsey would close you down !!!!! Your food counter is a mess ! Your staff haven't got a clue. Train them get a chef in the kitchen that's cares about his food. It has the capacity to be a nice restaurant with staff that know what they are doing. Very very very very disappointed yet again. We have vowed never to eat there again.

It’s a shame it’s a nice little cafe. With basic food on the menu. But even that seems hard to do. I ordered our meal. The teas came later after I had prompted the lady. I get if it was busy. But it wasn’t. Also I observed some staff fiddling with there hair. And then serving food. No hair tied up or in a hat. So big health and hygiene issue there. It seemed as a customer we were disturbing the girls chat time. By ordering our food.

Went shopping asked a question to this dark haired lady on the till and she answered me back in a very very rude manner No customers =Shop closure = No work = No pay

I have been here more than a few times and even tho we are in unpredictable times the staff did their best and as far as I’m concerned they have always done their job to the best of their ability.I will keep going there as I feel it’s a important service they offer and it’s always great value for money

I've experienced this on more than one occasion! I don't know if it's menopause or they need training in customer service! I will not be going back again! This was in the shop part not the resturant!

Visit 23rd November 2020 with 84 year old mother who struggles to walk any distance. Have been visiting this place for many years and due to mums mobility have always used the exit as an entrance to get to the cafe to save mum having to walk up and down the aisles. Never had an issue even during COVID times. Not today though! Very rude lady (short, blonde hair) made such a fuss about us going that way despite us wearing masks and being socially distanced from the 2 customers at the till. We asked if my mum could just go that way and we would walk round, I have never experienced such rudeness!! We can walk up and down the various aisles (no one way system) passing other customers closely but not able to walk passed the till being more than 6ft away from anyone else! We were told there were wheelchairs to use (they don’t look very safe!) but my mum is very independent and wanted to retain her dignity so didn’t want to use one. There was really no need for this lady to make such a fuss! This treatment stopped us spending money within the store and we will never shop or recommend the place again.On a side note cafe staff were lovely.

I visited with friends looking for xmas decorations we decided to grab a bite to eat whilst there we should have known from the start it was not going to be great when we were in the queue to order and witnessed a member of staff furiously scrubbing at some dried on food and spraying it with sanitizer surely hot soapy water would have worked a treat. We arrived to find a tray outside with bits of scone on it and half cups of coffee that no one took away in the time we were there so sat outside for atleast 30-40 mins and then another table left and the plates and cups just left for god knows how long as they were still there when we left all this madness in the world and 4 waitresses stood idle talking amongst themselves.The food took no time at all to arrive as the place was getting ready to close so only a few other people in the cafe the breakfast looked ok, on further inspection I think the chef (and I use that term very loosely)must have not been happy to cook the food as it was what I can only describe as the worst thing I've seen on a plate and I've been a chef for 20 years the eggs clearly cooked on a flat plate were black and chewy underneath and looked like a paper doyle the bacon was cooked but had black bits all over it cold beans in a ramekin and a wedge of toast that must have been cut by a blind person and only toasted on 1 side I feel that if you dont want to cook food for people near to the time you close then dont but dont take an order and serve something I wouldn't feed to an animal.

Was blasphemed at by a member of staff because after sanitising my hands in the toilet I didn't want to touch the door handle so used my sleeve. She said "Je***Chr*** no need for that". Shame because up until then had reasonable service. She spotted me when I came to pay and promptly shut her till and walked off. Left me quite upset...Shan't go back.

Good shop but stay away from the cafe. Very rude and ignorant staff. Very abrupt as we entered when we asked what the process was. Got the order wrong, sat a few minutes after the food was delivered before they gave us cutlery. Then forgot our drinks. Asked for sugar for the drinks, had to then ask for a spoon. The spoon we were given was dirty and had to be replaced. The waitress just laughed when we said how disappointed we were with the service

Went there today, awful service, queued for 10 mins waiting to order coffee, people behind ordering food, girl came to till asked have you ordered said only want drinks was told to go to back of queue, I declined seeing that I had an OAP Pregnant lady and a 3 yr old with me. NO TABLE SERVICE!!!!NO SOCIAL DISTANTING IN QUEUE OR TABLED, NO ONE SHOWING EMPTY TABLES, TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE.

On returning an item today at the store I was first queried why it was returned if I have the item in package and reciept Im wondering why I was made to feel a fraud she mumbled something to her work mate slammed reciept on counter no refund just voucher even with a reciept?then she queried which stermat this is the point she turned nasty she said something under her breath and said to work mate im in no mood today and laughed how rude your damn lucky you got jobs some paid still haven't you must of been so false in interview as yr attitude stinks I wont ever spend there again

This place has high turnover in staff as I beleave there not the best people to work for. Which is quite evident if you have a purchase problem it's difficult getting a refund

I enjoy visiting here. I've seen a couple of bad reviews here recently and working on the premise that people are quick to criticise but not so quick to compliment, I think it's only fair that I share my experiences.I've not had a bad experience here yet, I visit often. The food is always super quick to come out, there is a great choice of dishes and I come here for a quick cafe meal without the extortionate prices of the chain cafés or full restaurants. The meals we order usually come with a generous and wide ranging side salad, the salad has always been as fresh it can be. I usually order a toasted baguette and the portion is just right. The chips here are homemade, they're great. The covid modifications when we visited last Friday were as good as they could be. As a family of four I felt we had plenty of space and I didn't feel unsafe. We'll be coming again, thank you :-)

visited today 17th August,,,my 4 year old grand-daughter needed the loo,,,,wasn't very clean,,,needs to be checked regularly when used by customers especially in the currant situation

I was going to use the cafe but didn’t get further than the entrance. No social distancing whatsoever, and no interest or concern from the staff about this. Granted it’s the manager’s fault not the staffs’ fault There were two entrances, one could have been an exit. This garden centre managed to stay open through lockdown by claiming to be a hardware store

Staff need to take a course in customer service immediately ... staff most unhelpful and more busy talking amongst themselves whether or not to have McDonalds for tea !! There was no social distancing and they left no room for customers to pass them.Staff training seriously required . A smile and how can I help you would be a good start ! If you go to Treborth Garden Center be aware of what you've got in your personal bag❗️❗️Today my mum went shopping to the garden center with my vunerable grandmother who is 74! She had already spent £25 in the store - supporting a local business!!! she was questioned on the way out as the security alarms went off! She was made to empty all of her shopping bag and her handbag at the till infront of MANY customers and about 6 members of staff - you can imagine how intimidating this could be!! To be questioned about a re-usable shopping bag that costs £3.99 that was originally bought from Fron Goch garden center 2 years ago in Caernarfon as a gift from my sister which they also sell at stermat, holland arms and rest of the garden centers!! My mother even rang my sister to get her to describe the bag over the phone to prove that it was not taken from the store! she was then taken through to the offices in the back to be further questioned whilst leaving my grandmother out in the shop/carpark on her own not aware of what was going on! She was made to feel as a criminal and warned if anything was on the cameras the police would have to be called! when the deputy manager arrived she had a threatning approach even though my mother had explained the current situation and the bag was not stolen/taken from their store! It was obvious that both the member of staff and deputy manager had been discussing the mater in the office and already formed an opinion about my mother whilst left to stand outside the office while they chatted away! (even though the deputy managers family had been brought up in the same village as us). They gave her the 'benefit of the doubt' for today even though they had been through the cctv and still had NO evidence that she had been near the bag stall in the store and they WARNED her NOT to leave the store today and tell people that she had been accused of stealing! I am very dissapointed to say the least as people try to support every local buissiness with everything going on right now.. Our family will NOT be returning to this store ever again!

So I have lived in Bangor for nearly 2 years and love doing my garden. But because this place didn’t have a online shop I hadn’t used it, until now and it’s just amazing in every way. From hose pipes to bricks from flowers to palm trees. It has everything. Don’t go in with a trolley or you will leave with it overflowing and more. To me this place is a whole new world. Pun intended.

We visited this garden centre today , at the checkouts there were 2 tills open we stayed behind the old ladies queuing when the other checkout cleared we made our way to that one only to be told she’s closed that one so she could go a see a customers dog !! I asked the 4 other staff stood around if they were serving , they all looked at each other and in the end one of the young girls served us !! I told her that I was shocked at the level of customer service and she just said it wasn’t me !! For a large garden centre I’m shocked at the lock of care you have for customers ! You rely on customers so I feel a lot of training is needed !!!

Wonderful staff all round and very helpful especially Desna who was able to show me where everything was that I needed and went out of her way to assist me. Would definitely visit again and recommend this place and cafe.

Male member of staff started shouting and threatening to kick us out. Seemed like he enjoyed the power trip. Horrid. Younger members of staff were beyond helpful.

Reason for visit - to buy stuff to grow food as I believe shortages will follow in the wakes of COVID-19. I therefore disagree with previous comment (their one and only ever on Tripadvisor) that this place is non-essential. Decent product range abailable here. However, some (older female) staff were a miserable lot (x3). One told a customer in a very rude way to stay clear because of social distancing but failed to do the same when she was approaching other customers. I would be happy so supply a reference if ever they were to apply for a job at Manchester airport where such traits abound. On the other hand, there were 3 very pleasant younger staff who were great.

I have shopped at the large garden centre many times and always found the staff to be very helpful and forth coming, The staff seem to be hardworking and always approachable. Also this is my 'go-to' for garden and building supplies. thank you!

Visited today and shocked to read previous reviews. Shocking they people would visit and complain for no reason. The staff were lovely and made sure the customers shopped safely and looked after everyone taking every precautions. Ignore previous comments and if they were they concerned they should of stayed home.

I was shocked to see that Treborth Garden Centre was open as usual today (25/03/20) after the government had announced last night that no one is entitled to leave their home for any reason other than the 4 outlined! A garden centre is not an essential shop and your workers are not 'key workers'. You as an establishment are putting lives at risk. We drove around the car park as we couldn't believe that we saw cars going in and out of the premis... When we circled the car park we were not only shocked that stermat was open but a young memeber of staff was assisting a customer in putting compost into their boot (they were defiantly not 6 feet away from each other and you do not need COMPOST during a PANDEMIC)APPAULD!- We will be boycotting Treborth Garden Centre having been customers for years and we urge others to do the same. Stay home and stay safe everyone!

The last time I had a meal in this café was a really bad experience. As I was visiting the garden centre for plants, I decided to call in for a snack. There was a small queue, but I was served quite quickly by a very pleasant young girl. She took my order for soup and roll and I moved down to the till. Another pleasant older lady served me with my tea and then took my cash amount. By the time I had found a table, my soup was delivered. What good service. The soup was delicious and I will definitely call in again for my lunch. I also bought some plants and pots and was served at the checkout by a very cheerful lady.

Nice garden centre with a reasonably priced cafe. Good selection of plants and fancy goods also reasonably priced. Was disappointed on our last visit with the fish and chips..the fish not up to their usual standard but hoping that this is just a blip. I am prepared to give them a second chance.

Excellent place to visit loads of things for your garden staff are excellent welcoming just happy to help you find what your looking for.

My friend and I visited, I thought it would be a normal carvery, where you pick what you want and put it on your own plate, but they plated it up for you, I felt like I was in an old people's home. The food was quite tasty but lukewarm, as they kept it on the side for ages before bringing it over to you with half a smile.

Terrible service, denied selling me spray paint when i had proof of age over 16, very rude women, will never recommend anyone to go there

I have 4 times now and the food is always just warm but never hot when served some of the staff don't look happy and have no time for people, I think they should rethink service and getting hot food out.

We called in this afternoon with our grandchildren and wish we hadn't bothered lesson learned we won't bother again! It was extremely quiet but having got our drinks and cakes off the very off hand staff went to find a table. There were plenty and there were plenty of dirty dishes piled up on lots of them too. The grandchildren decided they would like ice cream so I went to get them some which I was served and then told to pay later as she didn't know how to use the till! Really? Then what are you or the other 3 girls doing working there? 4 staff hardly any customers dirty dishes on tables dreadful service and an appalling lack of get up and go. Very badly run cafe and such a shame because the actual look of the place is very inviting just a shame the staff aren't.

I don’t know why I keep coming to the cafe here, horrendous service every time. Such a shame because this place could be fantastic. The food is average however staff are rude. Food never comes out together. More often than not, the order comes out wrong and the attitude of the staff is terrible. You get ignored until you almost have to grab someone to ask where the rest of your order is. Nothing ever improves here. Poor, very poor.

The Sunday dinner took 30 minutes to arrive. We had requested things to be omitted from 2 of the meals which were not liked. This didn't happen. The member of staff was downright rude and stormed off. I can't believe the inefficiency of the system compared to the number of staff behind the counter. Shame really because it is a really nice place and could be so much better.

I really don't know if I could recommend enough how you shouldn't visit this store. One of the workers, Dawn, refused to give a customer the correct change and then used inflammatory language against a visiting party of elderly customers. Despicable.

I can’t believe the bad reviews for this place, I am always shopping here for plants, garden things, household stuff, tools, paint and all things miscellaneous. 99% of the time they have it here and all at value for money.

Simple but broad breakfast and lunch menu with all day breakfast, jacket spuds & sunday dinners being the highlight. Basic setting, good value, nice staff

Absolutely awful, waited 30 minutes for food that belongs in the bin. Watched 3 orders returned and refunds given. If this place is still in business by Easter, I guess they have got a whole new set of staff.

Very good value for money. Only complaint is the awful cutlery...fork actually bends when trying to cut bacon and sausage. Change your cutlery and you've nailed it...

Excellent breakfast and good price again have stopped here several times.This pls 've just off A55 so easy to get in and out on a trip.

Met up with lady friends for a catch up and went for a meal. Mine was fabulous a 6 oz sirloin steak cooked to perfection, it was the tastiest, jusiest most tender steak I can remember eating, and it was only £6.99 with chips and peas. A real bargain. My friend had the gammon and she said it was great 2 had soup which was tasty and one had a curry ciabatta which she found a little spicey.

Basically waited 50mins for 2 x salads.

Visited this morning for breakfast and was astonished to see that a member of staff was running around busy as a bee whilst other members were too busy chit chatting for over an hour. I called the lady over and thanked her for her service her name was Gwen. Excellent service received by this lady, perhaps the other staff should use this lady as their mentor.

Very poor service, plenty of staff who just couldn’t cope with half a dozen customers and when the cooked breakfast arrived it was cold...the only thing that was warm was a sausage

Went for breakfast with the family food was excellent worth the money thank you chef and cafe staff.

Arrived just after 10am, was busy but found a table for 4 with ease. 3 of us had the standard breakfast which was excellent value at 3.99 which included a mug of tea or coffee. Food was piping hot and a good sized portion, was worth the 30 min wait.

Such a disappointment we arrived for breakfast which we thought was just in time as over 20 workmen where behind us. We thought wrong as we sat there for nearly an hour watch every single person who came after us receive there order. Will not be returning.

We decided to visit the garden centre as a family trip having been recommended by friends.

Popped in for breakfast . Sadly they had stopped serving after 11.30 so had the Shepherds Pie again. Very tasty , good service and a very nice cappuccino as well.

Attractive looking garden centre, where we've bought plants before. Earlier this year we bought several pot plants. Took them home. After a couple of months one of them just withered and died.
