Trawlers Catch in Mid Devon

Very thin piece of fish. Wasn’t “large” at all. More batter than fish. Didn’t feel fresh as well. Rather disappointing.

If you don't want to find out until you get home that you've been given a very THIN looking piece of COD, that was meant to be large size, I would highly recommend another 'chippy'. BARELY ANY CHUNKY FLAKES OF FISH! Even the medium size had slightly more 'white fish flakes,' when this item was also lacking in fish quantity!! We have used many other F & C shops across the County and Country and this is by far the worst. A member of our group (in the catering business) ; felt in their opinion that the FISH supply is NOT fresh! I tried to address the matter with various members of staff, but sadly they came across as totally unbothered and rude. From our experience, they are clearly cheating customers in the quantity and quality of fish for the price, compared to what you can actually get far better elsewhere.

The food was really good but having repeated my order about 6 times to the girl at the counter she still managed to get it wrong!

These fish and chips were really, really nice. We recently moved from a seaside town.. and these fish and chips were the best I've had in a long while. We will definitely be returning.

Ordered two cod and chips and was surprised at the cost. The fish and chips tasted fine but I wont use them again due to the price.

Treated my Man to cod and chips absolutely delicious nice sized piece of Cod and plenty of fries 🍟 also had a sausage which was huge and tasty

This is my fourth attempt to ask for chicken and on each occasion that none is available. At 7pm in the evening you have no Cod so I can only deduce that your offerings are dependent on cheap frozen produce. Possibly edible once you've had a good night in the pub but not worth a visit whilst sober!

Good for quick clean easy food ........ How much more can you say about a fish and chip shop Clearly more to get to 100 characters

Had sausage and chips special have to say it was excellent and great value and would recommend a visit.

Quite simply, the food here used fo be good. The chips were good, the fish was tender and the batter crisp. It was a proper chippy. Now, under new ownership and management, be prepared to pay £7 for a standard fish and chips, which is cold, soggy and worst of all so greasy it'll line your mouth for days. It is in fact so over priced for what it is that even the staff think the prices are extortionate. Save your money, and yourself the disappointment, go elsewhere!

Visited for the first time, visiting my aunt in Crediton, we thought lets have chicken and chips, I ordered and queued for half hour. Fantastic smell of fried fish and chips, getting quite hungry. The chicken tasted wonderful, but we had trouble in finding the chicken, it was mostly skin and bone. Disappointing.

unfortunately the batter inside my fish was soggy , this had a terrible effect and made me ill all night.

I was passing through Crediton - a town I do not know - just before 7pm, and feeling hungry, on a journey which would take at least another hour. So I decided to look out for fish and chips, and saw this shop on the main road through the town. Going in, I was struck by the extensive choices: most types of take-away seemed to be advertised, using pictures and text. After brief consideration of the fish options, I asked for huss (which I've not had for quite a while). This turned out to be unavailable, so I settled for cod and chips, paying £5.40. There were half a dozen or so people already waiting for their orders; this number dwindled gradually and one or two more arrived to order. I think my hunger made me feel I was waiting quite a long time, but on returning to my car and opening the layers of paper around the food I discovered that it was worth the wait. The battered fish was amongst the best I've had, and the chips were pretty good too. Fifteen minutes or so later I resumed by journey across unfamiliar parts of Devon.

Been going here for ages, it's very frustrating at times but I do keep going back The food in the take away/fish shop is very good quality, my only gripe is that there is always a long wait, even if I just pop in for a bag of chips, A lot of it is to do with the large selection and options on offer Haven't tried the restaurant out the back though

Fresh cooked fish and chips that are the best in the local area. Lots of other stuff at good prices. The only fault is that the curry sauce portions are a little small and not value for money

Went here for lunch had a burger and chips plus abattered mars bar and slush puppie perfect portion nottoo huge filled me up not bad £1.50p for burger n chips. The staff are great always talkative love this plaice ten fold.

2 weeks in a row the sausages have looked horrible all dried up and tasted worse, the second week my partner even said to them can you cook fresh ones this time as last week the misses wasn't happy and they were still crap and as for the curry sauce well less than half a pot.( with the amount they have made by not giving what is ordered and paid for you would think they could afford a full pot for each order they remember to give out ) beginning to wonder why we started coming here again back across the road we go

Alojarse en la zona de vacaciones encontramos este lugar, y nos encanta. El servicio es de primera clase, muy amable y servicial. Y la comida, que es la parte importante, es insuperable. Y lo mejor de todo que usan lenguas islandesa pescado! Muy recomendable.

Always a good buy ! Chips are just the way I like them, and the fish has a lovely fresh taste to it.

I'm quite a regular at trawlers catch Crediton, usually order curry sauce and chips plus whatever my family want, get home to find no curry sauce, this has happened repeatedly.Tonight put my order in ( different meals) and when I got home only 3 of the meals were what I ordered. Donar kababs hardly any meat, and all stone cold. Not returning ever again.

Love this place if you want Fish'n'chips look no further by far the best in town. But if you want more than your standard fare then this is the place to look. Check it out you won't be disappointed.

Well fish & chips is no longer a cheap meal. Having said that these are the best chips in crediton - not greasy and cooked fresh.
