Food was alright, quite mediocre and an inauthentic atmosphere. I had a mushroom starter which was quite tasty (a little overpriced) and a calzone which was too greasy. The staff were nice but the atmosphere was like that of a canteen with loud pop music, not fancy restaurant

We came to celebrate two birthdays in our family on a Sunday evening and had a really lovely experience. Most tables in the restaurant at that time , late afternoon, included babies or young children and the staff were fantastic and really engaged with the toddlers. Food, drinks and service were brilliant and can’t wait to return!

This Italian restaurant in Leeds is truly a gem, offering fantastic food that left a lasting impression. I visited for an office dinner and had the pleasure of enjoying an amazing pizza, delicious pasta, and an incredibly delightful tiramisu. Food: I ordered half of the 20-inch Italian spicy pizza, Al'arrabiata, and Tiramisu. Everything was simply exceptional and made to perfection. The tiramisu, in particular, was light and served as the perfect ending to our meal. Staff: The staff was incredibly sweet and attentive. One of my colleagues received a smaller pizza than expected, and without hesitation, they made him a new 12-inch pizza. Honestly, we hadn’t even noticed the mistake, but their service was appreciated! Atmosphere: It was busy obviously being a Saturday night but still tables were easily available.

We went on a Friday night, as a party of 6. The restaurant was very busy when we arrived - always a good sign in my eyes. We were seated quickly at our reserved table, and were given the perfect amount of time to consider what we’d all like to eat and drink. Between us, we had 2 calzones, a 20” Tropicana pizza, spaghetti bolognese, and a fig & goats cheese pizza. All of our meals were thoroughly enjoyed. The staff were friendly and attentive. We’d highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a nice place for date night or a family meal.

Perfect authentic Italian food & atmosphere. Amazing staff in particular Anja (sorry for spelling) made us feel like we were at home. Pizza's are amazing but the pasta is better!! Linguine Gamberoni & Cozze, Napoli sauce with chilli perfectly fresh & divine & king prawns were super king & muscles perfect, Anja made our evening perfect, thankyou

The pizzas here are amazing and the service so friendly. Anna has been particularly helpful in helping us order food for a family party. All of our guests were delighted with the food. I would highly recommend.

One of the best pizza's I've ever eaten; absolutely delicious and no scrimping on the toppings! We took pizza home so we could indulge in desserts - the cheesecake & the tiramisu was equally as outstanding! And finally, the staff were spot on; great recommendations and speedy service!

I’m not sure why this place gets so many positive reviews. We both had pizzas and wine, really mediocre at best food, surrounds are grotty, sticky tables, crammed in like in a canteen, and horribly overpriced for what it was. Service was non-existent, all in I wish I had gone to a greasy spoon for that price!

On two separate occasions had horrible service. First time we were a big group of 5, booked months in advanced were sat right by the entrance, not very nice, had to wait ages to be served andfor the food. When we wanted the dessert menu, had to ask twice because it was taking so long, and it still took 20 mins to get those menus. Second time it was just me and my husband, again sat by the entrance and been told there were no other seats available. But the couple behind us, 2 mins later gets better seats. When i asked the waiter about it, they said it's because they are having food, ridiculous, because I don't know why would they assume we were not. But we had to leave without order because of how rude the staff was. The food is tasty but not worth it when the service is poor. Will try delivery 😂

Nice family Italian restaurant. We went on a Friday night and it was quite busy. The star of the show were the 20 inch pizzas. Loads of toppings to choose from and you can go half and half with them making it great for sharing. The Aperol Spritz was just right too!

I don't understand why there are so many good reviews on this place! This has been one of the worst restaurants I have been to in Leeds. We came as a group of 4 on Friday at 7:15pm. Seated quickly, and drinks came after about 10 mins. However, everything went downhill from here. The atmosphere was just insufferable, so many children and so loud! There are many tables crammed into such a small space, the decor and interior felt more like an airport cafe than a restaurant... me and my partner ordered the dough balls with garlic dip as a starter, and the sauce was literally mayonnaise!? I could hardly taste any garlic in it. 6 doughballs for £5.95 is outrageous, especially if you are serving it to customers with a mayonnaise dip. Mains came after 20 mins, and all 4 of us were disappointed with our meals. The pork medallions were overcooked and very chewy. The spicy Italian pizza tasted like one you would buy for 3 quid and stick in the oven from frozen, and the base was very dry. The carbonara was so stodgy and tasted too much of egg, the pancetta that is meant to be on it tasted so dry and chewy, I think they just cut pieces of bacon into it, didn't taste like pancetta at all. The calzone was the biggest disappointment of the evening. It was so burnt it was practically black on the outside!? The inside was cold as well, served with the most mediocre looking salad on the side. We all just wanted to get out of there in the end. Really bad experience. The staff were also rushed off their feet, which is why the service was so poor. They did take the calzone off the bill after my mum complained, but you would have to pay me to eat here again...

An evening visit for a birthday celebration. From our arrival the staff were friendly & efficient. We ordered pasta, pizzas & vegetarian dishes, the food was served quickly & everything was delicious, desserts too. We hope to visit again soon.

Lovely experience this afternoon when I was passing by with my daughter who very much fancied an ice cream. The staff were kind to her and she was thrilled with her strawberry ice cream which tasted great, we left very happy. We look forward to having dinner at Il Forno again soon. The pizzas here are fantastic by the way. We can strongly recommend everyone to try them! Thanks again Il Forno!

Popped in with my partner on the off chance they'd have a table. Luckily, we got one! The staff members were all very friendly and understanding as theres so many amazing things on the menu we did not know what to pick! The atmosphere was nice, chilled and relaxing energy! The food was absolutely unbelievable, we just got back from Napoli not long a go and really miss the amazing food, and the food here definitely comes closest to what we had in Napoli! the chicken gnocchi with mushrooms was just beautiful! Dor desert, we got a tiramisu, and it was so fresh, light, and full of flavour! We already can't wait to come back 👌🏽

We called in here Sunday evening,we hadn't pre-booked but it appeared most diners had. For starters we shared a tomato garlic bread which was ok. I had large penne arriabata and other half small lasagne.The lasagne was a child's portion I would say.Get large if you're hungry. My penne was alright,would rather have had pepperoni than salami in it,always tastes plasticky to me. Should mention the waiting staff who worked hard and very efficiently. Wasn't impressed with large bottle Peroni beer at £8 each. They certainly like their greenage on the dishes that passed us by!. Can't say we'd rush back.

Fifth time to this restaurant and the last. Our meal last night was horrible. Garlic mushrooms were mushrooms on bread, Pizza was sloppy, lasagne was mush. When we asked the waitress if they had a new chef she said yes and that she was getting better. The service was so bad the waiter was hiding behind the wall and he kept checking to see if my friend had finished eating, this made us all feel very uncomfortable and rushed I complained about the state of the facilities which on cubical was disgusting. The overall price for four of us no desert totalled £168 four miserable mains, 3 pizzas ok and a lasagne absolutely vile. 4 glasses of wine a coke and vodka. Unfortunately I did not see the service charge on the because no way would I have paid it. If you want a nice meal at a decent price with good service please do not entertain this place.

Amazing. Superb wood fired pizzas.

We visited as a family. Unfortunately the food was very poor. One meal was burnt and another, advertised as a salad was embarrassing. It contained two sliced tomatoes, a bit of cheese and a small handful of rocket...charged at 12.95... picture below. The pizza ovens looked great but the pizzas were small and Italian by name only. We visited on a Saturday evening, it was very noisy and we couldn't carry a conversation. I appreciate this is not the fault of the restaurant but the clientele. We won't be returning but I hope the restaurant take note of some of the poor reviews and make changes. There are lots of positive reviews so maybe we just hit a bad night.

Food was lovely and very quickly served, don't think they should add a service charge to the bill, if I want to leave a tip that's my choice

Have had many takeaways from this fabulous establishment. Tonight we took our 16 year old son and his grandparents, one of whom is still recovering from broken hip and collar bone. From the moment we arrived, Anna and the team were just fabulous. They made our son's birthday special and helped his grandmother feel safe and welcome as she struggled with her balance. We chose to go to ll forno to celebrate my wife’s birthday as we’d had a few lovely visits before … however we were sadly disappointed today. We had booked a table for 5 people but were shown to a table for 4 people while the waiter went to get another chair to perch on the end. There was clearly not enough room for all of us so asked to be moved. The waiter called the manager and reluctantly moved us. Not a good start. We were promptly asked for our drinks order which came quickly. Then the mains took over an hour to arrive. When the waiter came to give us glasses for water she unfortunately dropped on onto the table. Two of the dishes were taken back because of the risk of glass in the food. My sister effectively waited 1½ hours for her main course because of this. We asked for another bottle of water that did not arrive so had to ask another waiter for a bottle. At the end of the meal, we were presented with a bill for all the meals even though one of the staff had told us we would not have to pay for my sister’s main course because of the glass and long wait. They only removed the cost of her main course after we complained. The food was good, but the service was terrible. We will not be going back again.

Good pizza, but a very poor dessert. I had the creme brulee and it was like water and not set at all, stupidly I ate it and it made me very sick, it was the only thing different I ate that week to my family so I know it was this, but I should have sent it back when it wasn't set. Service was good and the staff were lovely. Pizza arrived very quickly.

Lovely food went for pizza and pasta dish, starter was also nice. Couldn’t fault the service lovely people. Drinks very expensive! £5 for a sprite. Also service charge added. Surely the owner should be paying a decent wage? Bill was around £150 for 4

Our place to go for pizza 🍕 just can't beat 20inch

It has to be 1, Im sorry. Came here last Sunday, table of 6. To start with, place looked ok, we were welcomed, our waitress was super nice and friendly. Menu is big for such a small place- lots of choices; a bit complicated to understand what is your "key" point to go for. We have ordered and our order came wrong- 2 pizzas were mixed up. Ok, mistakes happen. They have taken pizzas straight away and changed them with the new ones. One pizza was requested without mushrooms-came with mushrooms- was replaced- the new one came with traces of mushrooms hidden somewhere between pizza base and large amount of cheese. When I showed pizza to a manager (I believe she was one), she couldn't understand what was wrong. After explaining 3rd time that guest doesnt eat mushrooms, we got the pizza right. Its nice of you not charging us for a pizza (that we didnt eat), but this is at least you could do. Ingriedients that they use were not fresh, pizzas were 10 inches, not 12 as it says on the menu. Honestly, you can make better pizza at home. This place has hood hygiene rating 5... I am very surprised of this. You need another visit. Just massive thank you to a lady who served us. She is the only one who truly deserved 5 stars ( I didnt catch her name, BUT i believe she was from Slovakia?). The rest was probably the worst experience we had ever have.

First visit for Mothers Day, last visit ever. Very slow service, incorrect delivery, cold food, main courses forgotten, rude staff, tasteless fayre, no atmosphere, incorrect bill. Absolutely nothing to recommend.

Me and the family came here after seeing amazing reviews of the giant pizzas and we just had to try for ourselves, along with another carbonara for me to sample! 😋 We had the garlic dough balls for starters which you can’t go wrong with in my opinion. My carbonara was absolutely spot on, no complaints whatsoever, I cleaned the bowl as usual. My other half and little boy got a huge half and half pizza to share, margarita and pepperoni. It was delicious! I can see why the place is known for its fantastic pizza! It was so huge they boxed the rest up and we took it home 😋 It was a Sunday tea time when we came and the place was busy so I would advise booking in advance. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed, we would definitely come again. Overall, I highly recommend a visit here. Best pizza in Leeds and delicious gelato

I had thee best Risotto!! I booked a table in advance. The service, food and atmosphere was wonderful. I would highly recommend.

We used to enjoy food here quite often as it’s delicious. However during our last visit the management makes us feel really uncomfortable rushing us. Some friend came to Leeds and we decided to take them to the restaurant as we use to love it. We booked a table using your page (much earlier than the last table available). When we arrived a young waitress welcome us (don’t know her name but she was super kind all the time). We were chatting and having a look at the menu when she came to the table to take our order. She also let us know that the kitchen was closing earlier than expected as they didn’t have more bookings for the day. Seconds after that a super rude manager came to the table without even saying hello and asked us straight away: “tell me your starters as the kitchen is closing” we asked him for a couple of minutes and his response was “a couple more minutes” and he left. That makes us felt rushed and we really wanted to enjoy a full meal so we decided to go somewhere else where the manager doesn’t want to go home earlier and rush the clients. After we asked for the bill he came to apologise and offer us two drinks if we stay as he said “I have seen you more times around”. We decided to go and he charged us for the drinks that we didn’t enjoyed as we only could take a sip of it. Although I love the food, I think that I will avoid going there in the future and would recommend anyone to run if this manager is around.

We’ve been for my son’s birthday. Anna and team were great! Definitely recommend.

In brief, tables far too cramped together, food average at best. The service was shocking, mainly due to the two female waitresses who obviously didn't want to be there. And then to top it off they charge you an extortionate service charge.

We were celebrating our nieces' 30th birthday. Eight of us booked. The food was fabulous. Unfortunately, halfway through, we started to notice that the staff were clearing up, this was at 20.30 hrs. Our plates and glasses were taken away as soon as one of us had finished. Then, all around us, chairs were being put upon tables, the music was turned off and we hadn't finished our meals. Staff started leaving at 21.00 with their coats on, and we were then given the bill of approx £46 per person, plus a service charge of £6 per person. We couldn't have ordered a sweet as there was no one left to serve it!! The restaurant was advertised as closing at 22.00 hrs, but the staff were paid until 21.00 hrs. We didn't pay the service charge and complained to the manager. We were told they were sorry, but next time, all would be okay!!! You will see by my photos how disappointing this special evening turned out!! We shall not return!!

Nice food and atmosphere. Naughty little service charge added-all too common these days on top of already expensive bills. Should be stated in big letters next to every price.

It's such a treat to find a restaurant like this. Excellent menu selection, whether you want pasta, pizza or other Italian food. The 20" in half where you can have 2 pizzas on the same base is massive, but so good and there's enough for lunch the next day! Save room for desserts if you can. Service has always been friendly, attentive and efficient. Highly recommended.

First time visiting and we left very impressed. The food was great, Anna our waitress couldn’t do enough to make sure we were settled and went out of her way to ensure our young children had the food they liked and make them feel very welcome. The value for money was good and the lemon cheesecake dessert was breathtakingly light and so good!! Looking forward to our next visit.

Always a lovely time at Il Forno. Of all of the pizza places I frequent, this one is on the slightly pricier side, however this is justified by the quality on offer. My partner and I both had the Gamberoni Piccante to start, which was delicious. King prawns cooked to perfection served with crunchy bread and perfectly balanced chilli garlic sauce. Pizzas were fantastic and so fresh. The entire venue smells amazing due to the freshness of the food, and the staff are all very friendly and accommodating. As usual, I look forward to returning and encourage everyone to enjoy an evening or lunchtime here!

I spent over £65 on two large pizzas. One salmon and the other half and half prosciutto and seafood. Whilst the salmon and prosciutto were fine, the seafood was inedible due to the incredibly strong chilli on the pizza. I eat fairly spicy food but this was ridiculous. It was so hot it felt like a chilli eating competition. Pairing this strength with seafood doesn't work anyway as it totally killed the seafood flavours. It was so hot I felt ill. My partner tried it, again he is a chilli fan, but he too found it way too hot. In addition, the calamari on the pizza was a bit rubbery. It feels like I spent a huge amount of money just thrown away. If you charge high you have to get it right. Very, very disappointed.

I have been to this restaurant many times and always enjoyed it. However, sadly our experience this week was way below expectations! We had pre booked 2 weeks in advance, arrived on time and shown to our table-squeezed into a very tight corner by the window. We ordered drinks and food at same time, drinks arrived very quickly closely followed by our pizzas which was a bit suspicious as we had only been there for 10 mins, both pizzas were also slightly burnt! After taking my first mouthful I was gasping for water and soon realised my whole pizza was covered in hot red chillies which I admit I did not see on the menu and seems odd on a seafood pizza? My friends calzone was also covered in red chillies too! We asked for side plates to remove the chillies and a jug of tap water!! Our plates were quickly removed and deserts arrived within 5 mins-both were delicious but then again they should be at the price we paid! Service charge was automatically added to the bill ( I do not agree with this!) and it came to around £78 for 2 pizzas, 2 drinks and 2 deserts so quite pricey for something so mediocre. We felt rushed by the staff from moment we walked in to leaving-we were in and out in 50 minutes! Won’t be returning I don’t think, there are so many other fabulous restaurants in Horsforth who value your custom and don’t charge anywhere near Il Forno’s prices!

Been a few times to this restaurant, the staff are great and the food very good if not a tad costly for what it is. Was going to visit this evening with my wife and granddaughter however they seem to have introduced a policy of only allowing 1 hour and 15 minutes for your table. It’s nice to have a gap between courses and a drink while looking at the menu etc. I’ve never been anywhere where it’s less than 2 hours for a table and I’m not paying over £100 to be rushed so it’s Napoli del cuore down the street for tea. Pizzas are just as good.

We’ve eaten at many Italian restaurants throughout the UK and this was without doubt the worse experience we have had in terms of customer service. The meal was nothing special, pizza which was slightly undercooked but hardly making a fuss about. My major complaint was what came after. We both ordered coffee, after a patiently waiting it arrived luke warm. I called the waitress over and mentioned that the coffee was cold, only to be told by the waitress ‘Well you’ve had it for 5 mins’ I’ve got to say I was speechless by her response. Utterly disgraceful attitude. I requested that we have another two coffees, preferably delivered hot. Eventually they arrived…Luke warm. I once again I called the waitress over and complained about the coffee. Once again, we were met with more attitude from the waitress. We called the manager over and complained about the shocking attitude of the waitress and service. The management apologised profusely and offered to rectify the problem. In short, there was absolutely no reason why anybody should be spoken to like that. It was not only disrespectful but embarrassing for the other customers. The waitress in question should be hauled in and disciplined. Be warned.

Gorgeous little gem hidden in Leeds. You can feel the freshness of ingredients, great staff hospitality, and overall, laid back atmosphere. This truly is a great place to dine in with family, or friends, and I look forward to returning.

We came with 2 children for a birthday meal on Saturday. As always we had a great experience with food quality and service (this time it was lovely lady called Anna). Our children love this place. We always feel welcomed there. And it is our favourite place for family celebrations. Fully recommend. Will be back again!

Absolutely fantastic place. I’d say some of the best pizza in Leeds. Nice flavours great dough and cooked in a wood fire. The other dishes are good as well. The mozzarella and prosciutto starter was excellent. It’s been a while since I’ve been and there’s a noticeable cost increase as there is everywhere but still well worth it.

I came here on Wednesday and it was so good I had to come back on the Friday and had Spaghetti Carbonara on both occasions. I ummd and arrrd over ordering it because I have been disappointed more than pleased when ordering in other restaurants but I gambled and won. It was soooo good, the creamy sauce has that lovely rich yolk to it which is what you always hope for with Carbonara and it had great quality pancetta. This is our new go to Italian….but what to order next time…..as splendid as the Carbonara was everything looked delicious, so I just might have to work my way through the menu. The service was great, attentive, accommodating and welcoming.

Food was quite average, service not the best took ages to be seated even though it wasn't busy. Salad plain and asked for some oil or vinegar was handed some vinegar. Given one spoon, one fork and one knive.for two desserts...strange

Having heard good things about Trattoria, we decided to try it out before heading to the cinema this evening. They had a great wine selection and after sharing the amazing garlic bread as a starter, I chose to go for the Lasagne as a main and my other half had the Chicken and Mushroom Gnocci, both of which were faultless. The lasagne was rich, flavourful, crispy on top and cooked to perfection throughout. My girlfriend claimed she could have drank the sauce that came with her gnocchi. The staff were warm and welcoming, the atmosphere was lovely and the price wasn’t eye-watering. All in all, an Italian restaurant as they ought to be.

Visited last night. The first time we’ve been back in a few years. The service was good and friendly. Pate was okay. Dough balls were again okay. Calzone was average. Mushroom risotto was average. Gnocchi was okay. The food was all just okay but really nothing to write home about at all. Beers were £7.50 each and Sprites £4.75. Seems very, very steep. £162 for 4 of us with a bottle of mid price wine. Certainly won’t be rushing back.

Adore Ilforno! The pizzas are just insaaaaane and it’s the most authentic Italian food (including gelato) I’ve found! I take my family to visit whenever they are up North and have spent a couple of bdays there too ☺️

This place has the best pizza 🍕Three of us shared a 20inch pizza, we stuck to the classic's four cheese and ham and mushroom. Absolutely delicious 😋 we've been here a few times and it never fails to disappoint.

Had a lovely meal at Il Forno - their 20" pizzas are just amazing, and absolutely massive! Loved the Tuscany, with artichokes, rocket, onions and ham. The tiramisu was delicious too! It's a well run, friendly place that always makes me want to come back for more!

Horsforth classic. Lots of friendly new staff who were happy to recommend dishes and drinks and food was great. Disappointed that my personal favourite pizza with pears on has been removed from the menu but fair enough if I was the only one who ordered it! Glad to see it doing well since knocking through to the shop next door. Busy every night indicates its continued greatness.

This has been a game changer. Sadly no other meal will compare. I am only 42 and my biggest regret is that I have reached the culinary peak way too early. Thank you, Trattoria, for a truly outstanding dining experience. I wish I could give you six stars.
