Well its that time of year again, another few weeks at Chapel. The weather is cool windy and wet, so BBQ time is defiantly on hold. Trip to the Grange is in order.I still can't fault this place. Everywhere is clean and tidy, dining room looking as good as ever and good staff. The garden is huge and very inviting for family's. Got a drink and went to the dining room , i ordered the steak pie with veg and chips, very good and piping hot. A few day later i returned and had shepherds pie, again spot on. This place from the outside looks nothing , but do yourselves a favour , go try it !!!!!

AS i didn't fancy cooking, and thinking where to go, it didn't take much thinking about. The Grange !!! Once again on entering everywhere was spotless and tidy. I went to the dining room and was served by a young lady who was very pleasant and took my order. Garlic mushrooms to start and the shepherds pie for the main. Garlic mushrooms came in good time and were so hot i couldn't get near them. They were very good indeed , not had them for ages and really made a change. Next came my main OMG enough for 2 days and again very hot, not many places you can say the meal was to hat to get at , but this was. Again everything home made , tasty and well presented, in fact had to take some for my dog as i couldn't finish it all , lucky dog or what !!!!!!With the shepherds pie were carrots peas green beens and chips, how can you fault that !!! . BUT, theres always a but. when i had finished the mushrooms and the young lady came with my main i had no knife and fork ,as i had used them, so pinched them of another placement. When i looked at the dining chairs where the slats on the back meet the seat needed cleaning. These things are minor but lost one star rating . Oh nice to see salt and pepper pots on the table instead of sachets. One more little gripe , too many chips and i didn't realise that they would put gravy all over, better in a side bowl as i don't do a lot of gravy and i could have put on what i wanted .Meal total was £10.20, how can you beat that for quality and value !!!!!.

Really nice friendly and welcoming pub/restaurant - well worth a visit. Extensive menu, well prepared and very keenly priced. We enjoyed the lunchtime special scampi (£4.75) and the "1/2 lb mammoth burger" (£3.95). Our dog was made welcome too. We hope to return for their steak and wine for 2 specials.

Excellent food at reasonable prices. The menu is extensive and meets the needs of all appetites, it includes special offers such as two steaks and a bottle of wine from £20 and lunchtime specials for only £4.75. If you are feeling hungry or just want a snack , Tracy's is well worth a visit.

Came here for the 3 course Sunday lunch priced £8.95!! Great value for money, egg mayonnaise for starter was lovely, then the main of roast beef/chicken, roast spuds, mashed spuds, peas, carrots, cabbage, Yorkshire, stuffing, then a dessert of Belgian waffles with cream, ice cream and chocolate sauce, all homemade, all delicious, great value, would definitely visit again.

I'm afraid I wasn't happy with this casually family run establishment. More things unavailable from the menu than I deem acceptable. Staff weren't over intelligent either which always makes things more difficult. Liked the bar man though, he was a nice chap. Very polite.

I decided to have dinner at the grange again to see what else was good on the menu. Decided to try the home made steak pie, glad I did. Plenty of meat in it plus chips peas carrots and cabbage all perfectly cooked and the plate was hot, £6.45, amazing value. Don't be put off at the outside, yes it does need a re vamp , but the food is superb and very reasonable price.

18th Aug 2017 6pm. At first sight it may look a bit run down , but don't be deceived. On entering i was greeted very well by the bar staff, good start, I picked up a menu and asked if i could order dinner, no problem. the staff then ushered me to the dinning room and showed me to a table. Very nice and clean and well set out. I decided to go for the home made chilli chips and nan bread. Service was quick and the food hot , very good chips but i thought the chilli could have had a few more beans in it and for me a bit more spice , nice bit of salad as well, but this is a personal opinion and it would be good for most people. I was so impressed with the service and the food i am going back for sunday lunch as i am informed it is also very good. So from the outside you may be put off, but don't be . its good , friendly with good honest food.

Visited The Grange after not being able to get in at The Ship and pleased we did. The place could do with a refurb but the food made up for it. Honest home cooked food and good drink at a great price. Friday night steak night, had x2 Fillet Steaks perfectly cooked and bottle of wine for £25.. Worth a trip for the food!

As we walked towards this place, it looked very shabby and not even clear where you go in and once inside it is in need of a refurb, but.. the staff were great and the Sunday lunch great too. A bit weird not be able to order food and the bar... you have to get your drinks at the bar and then go into the restaurant to order and pay for food But.......... Good home cooked food served quickly, so don't be put off by the outside.

22nd June 2016 1800. From the outside you could think its closed, and its off the main road and from the road you only see the rear of the building it looks tired and in need of a makeover. Inside also could do with a revamp. Nice greeting from the bar staff but not a great selection of beer to choose from. I sat in the bar , found a table by the window and looked at the menu which was quite good and reasonably priced. I ordered the 8oz sirloin steak which came pretty quick. Two things struck me, one the table looked clean but was very sticky, and the dinner plate was cold. Could have been because there was salad on it but would have been better if the salad was in a side dish and the plate hot. The steak was not bad , cooked spot on but half of it was stringy, mind you the dog did'nt complain. There was plenty for me so i didn't miss it. There were a few regulars in and they were all friendly and we had a good natter so thats a good point. There is quite a lot of competition in this area so it needs a refit.

We found this by chance one night while out for a walk! We were on holiday and decided to try it out. Staff were friendly and we put an order in for 6 of us. Kids had burgers, husband had home made steak pie and I had scampi. Burgers were big and got plenty of chips. Steak pie was big with plenty of steak in and served with 3 veg. I got plenty of scampi with my chips. It came to just over £30 Which we thought was very good for 6 of us. We paid more for a take away which wasn't even very nice!We went back again to find it was steak night. Got steak chips and peas for £5.50 which was cooked really nicely. On a Monday to Thursday they do e selection of meals 2 for £10 another good deal!Really worth paying a visit. If people have kids there was a slide and somewhere for kids to play at the back.Would recommend a visit.

Visited as a family of four in April. Our two teenage sons have hearty appetites and take some filling! We were not disappointed. The boys went for the burger stack which nearly beat them whilst wife and I had different meals from main menu. All meals good size, well cooked and reasonably priced. Staff were attentive and friendly giving you time to browse menu without rushing you along.Desserts were also good quality, good sized and well priced. We will definitely be returning.

The breakfast in the morning was good, food was cooked as you ordered it and there was a variety from full English to eggs on toast. There was no cereals or fruit out on display but didn't ask for any so cannot say if these were provided, but no complaints

Staying in Aby village for a week's holiday and had to try the local pub. Exterior looks a bit "tired" but don't be put off - inside it's friendly. cosy and lots of character. Excellent choices of dishes on the menu and "daily specials" board - we especially appreciated the choice of gluten-free options and Dawn was happy to go through each option in detail. Good portions and served hot! Very tasty and wholesome. Wide range of dessert options too and it was evident from conversations with other diners, that Dawn would also be happy to adapt these just to suit individual requirements. Obviously very deserving of the many awards over many years.

Lovely fish and chips hot and fresh cooked to order . Few seats outside or you can sit inside at extra cost . Only reason I've not given 5 stars is cause they charge for a carton to take away what you can't eat which I thought was a bit mean as we'd spent over £30
