Amazing! Fish was absolutely massive. Went here on recommendation of a friend and we are not disappointed

The town fryer in sandy has always been excellent! I've been going there for years .

Wow now that's what I am talking about !! I would say the best chips hands down in Bedfordshire!! I will drive to get this standard of food from stotfold ! 10/10

golden yellow fish and fresh potatoes, clean sauces, handmade. I work at a barbershop and when I'm done eating from here every evening I never get tired of it. Don't try any other place for quality food in Sandy other than here because I've experienced many times that the food in the other fast foods is old and unhygienic, but these guys have taken this business further than it should be, bravo

Disappointed with my meal tonight . Fish was very dry . No where near as usual good quality. This has been the second time in a few months .

Without hesitation I would say this is the best chippy for miles. Always fresh, always perfectly cooked, always crispy.... Even after a 15 minute drive home. Thank you Town Fryer. Edit 4/7/24 Still excellent. Haddock cooked to order, chips, crisp as you like.

Town Fryer was recommend to me by a friend. The food was delicious I ordered fish and chips and a chicken burger. The chips were crispy and not greasy and a good portion was given. I can't praise the service and the quality of food enough. I loved the chilli sauce too. I will definitely be coming back for more.

We have always travelled further to this fish and chip shop as they did fantastic chips. When I mentioned it to them they said they always charge their oil daily. Over several months now, the chips are very greasy and nothing like they used to be. Please please change your oil daily again! Maybe it’s a different chef

Our favourite chippy in the area. Open Sundays too as they sell kebabs and burgers. Parking is on street as you'd expect but you do need to cross a fairly busy road. Otherwise it's a short walk from a car park which is situated on the same side as the shop.

Been a few times now and can definitely recommend! Tasty, good portions, fresh.

2 X fish & chips (shared) between 4 of us plus mushy peas & curry sauce, yummy, enjoyed by all.

Used to be really friendly and great service in regards to listening to preferences etc but now just ignorant, rude and soggy. The attitude really let's it down and makes it not worth the money.

Excellent service. Food always 100 percent. Shop always clean. Staff are trust worthy the first time I used them I left my medication on the window seal out side before I phone and tell them my mistake. They sent a member of staff to my home with it. I think there attuide to there customers is brilliant so many fast food shops will use cheap souses ie ketch mayo and so thorth but they always use helmens mayo heinze ketchup and so on. I generally go ones a week and look forward to going. Compared to the other chip shop in sandy I wouldn't waste your money ide go town frier every time u won't regret it

Chips absolutely disgusting not even proper fresh chips ..frozen ones, never going back there, can't comment on any other food

My Dad recommend we travel the extra distance out of Potton to come here as the quality of food is better. I would absolutely agree. Amazing food and I will be back!

Just had fish and chips and the fish was overcooked and the batter was so burnt you couldn't cut it. Shame because they are usually ok.

Terrible don’t take card.frozen chips not proper fish&chip shop chips and they was very greasy also fish was over cooked and greasy.£1.90 for basically an egg cup full of curry sauce same with the peas.needless to say I won’t be going back!!!

Really disappointed in this place this eve. We regularly use them. They are abit more expensive but they are local. The last 2 times our pie has been stone cold in like it hadn’t been heated, the first time we left it but because it happened again a few days later we phoned to tell them. ( it was chicken so worried about maybe getting ill? ) they took over an hour to deliver a new one after having to phone again twice. When they finally came the driver just handed me the pie with no apology or even a hello sorry about that. I don’t think we will be returning again anytime soon unfortunately.

Nice little chippy for takeaway. The fish is good quality, with good batter. The chips aren't as good as some I've had elsewhere, but they're still pretty good. My only complaint would be that you can't pay by card.

Had a delivery from here for family and Stone cold, would have been a 1 star if it wasn't for previous collections have been good

Town fryer was recommend when we first moved to sandy. We havent gone anywhere else as these are delicious fish and chips. I've never had a bad order! Love this place 😁

Usually very good, on this occasion though they only gave me half of my order and missed a bag which meant I had to drive back to collect the rest. Food was very nice though

Not exactly my local but definitely worth the drive, freshly cooked and a decent price. The wife said it was the best fish and chips she’s ever had so enough said.

Food is good but when you order and pay for sauces and don't get given them it does ruin your meal, especially as it's happened more than once and when it's been quiet aswel. So don't think much of the service overall.

Terrible. Doesn't accept card in 2023, don't do buttered rolls in a chip shop.. that's pretty standard, they offered to toast some burger Buns and butter it, wasn't even buttered. Forgot to put our drinks in bag. Chips were greasy and chicken was cheap, worse than chicken from McDonald's. We only came here as Royal Fisheries were shut for refurbishment, but once they reopen il be going back there instead.

Hot, fresh chips and perfect fish. The staff are great, the menu has the whole range of chip shop items including kebab and pies. There's also a picture of a spooky ship which I love.

This is the best fish and chip shop in Bedfordshire. The portions are generous and always freshly cooked, and the chips are excellent. We come here regularly, even though Bedford is closer. Would recommend to anyone!

Hands down the best fish & chips in Sandy and in my opinion Bedfordshire on the whole, Actually, come to think of it the only place I have had better would maybe (maybe) be at a seaside town somewhere. Fast friendly service, walk in, or order on line , delicious hot food and excellent portions and prices, however please bear in mind they are one of very few establishments that take cash only. A large cod and chips costs under £12 and is perfect to split between me and my significant better half. Never had a bad meal from the Town Fryer 10 out of 10 on all fronts.
