Great friendly service with top notch food. This is the only take away service we use, well worth the travel to appreciate the taste.

Easily the worst fish and chips I’ve had. The cod and chips were absolutely caked in oil. Inside the shop is dated and run down. Can’t understand how this is still open to be honest. Vile place

Amazing fish and fantastic value.

Girls here are miserable. Walked in and they just stared at me. No hello, smile or anything. This is a shame as its basic manners but doesn't seem to be the case these days. Especially at a place of work. I got large chips. Honestly the smallest 'large' chips I have ever had. Not worth the money and I wouldn't go back again.

Impossible to park nearby these days. I won't be bothering again. I'm disabled and tried to find a suitable space within 200 yards and it took 30 mins at 8pm midweek.

A brilliant, inexpensive and delicious dinner. The chips are always fantastic, the COD is always cooked to perfection and the burgers and kebabs are always lovely. I buy food from here an embarrassing amount. Consistently great food and lovely staff.

Need to use different or change the oil more often, would elevate your chips to another level. Other than that good chippy

Went in asked for a mixed donner kebab and a piece of small battered fish. Was asked if i wanted chips after I paid. When i said no, the man gave me attitude with his eyes. Like it came with chips? I didnt understand if anything i bought came with chips, it was unclear when i ordered the fish on its own. Unsure if i was charged full meal. Kebab had thick cuts of lamb meat, just not what youd expect.

Hi You are doing a great job and I commend you as we all know it’s very hard going at present in this industry. Just want to make you aware there is a serial viewer going around the local chips shops and giving bad reviews. Name and Shame Travis Jones. I see he has put a bad review on here. He has been band from the Silsoe chippy. Just be aware

The Chips were quite cold, some were hard and some tasted like there been sitting in the fryer for a while. Bit disappointed. Expected the chips to be better. Also the bloke was miserable.

Good old fashioned fish and chips. The cod was slightly smaller than other establishments I've tried though. Tasty enough that it's not such an issue.

Perfect Chips nice and fluffy and not over cooked I bought a portion of Chips just before closing the night before. I simply had to drive 4 miles the next day to purchase another 2 x Large & 1 x Small for my visiting family & friends. Ample ammount to feed 4 adults and 2 children. In fact sadly I had to discard nearly half a portion as we were stuffed 😊

If you like standing around waiting, this is the place to go. The service is so slow, I could have driven to Luton Town chip shop at limbury, got served and drove back in the time these snails served me.

What do want to say is I've never been let down on quality of food. The food is always piping hot,quality of potatoes used for chunky chips is amazing. Brilliant fish,great place to indulge in good ol fashion fish n chips. A real great find 👏 👌

Never been the same since Chris retired! Expensive, dry fish, terrible batter which is over cooked! This picture today is the last straw! Started eating a fish cake as thought it would be better than the cod! ? How wrong was I? Every mouthful was disgusting and burnt. Turned it over and no wonder, it was black!! No excuses for this. Just inedible! Please don’t use them

Very good fish n chips for £8.90. Fast service and good quality fish n chips. Chicken sausages, steak and kidney pies, burgers+salad, mushy peas are also available at lunch times. At busier times kebabs are available. Take away only. Friendly service.

Food was lovely as always. Decent sized portions and I am Coeliac so the gluten free chips are such a treat for me.

Always well cooked fish with decent t batter

I purchased saveloy and chips and scampi and chips for 'cheat' dinner. The saveloys brought back to my youth - I have struggled to find saveloys that taste as they used to in my youth for many years - well the search is over !!! As for the scampi my partner used the phrase "oh, my f***** god !!!". They were plump, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, cooked to perfection and tasted like they had just left the ocean. Now we get to the chips, perfectly cooked, crunchy on the outisde, like little white clouds on the inside - yummy. The only change I would make is that I probably only need 1 portion of chips next time as the portion size was pretty good (however the birds the next day were also singing your praises when they got the leftovers..... Great food thanks !

Best fish and chip shop in the area by far. The food is tasty and they even do a gluten free option and extra crispy chips. Not only is their fish yummy but their southern fried chicken beats any in the area. Their hygiene is 5* and the family so welcoming and lovely.

Been going to Barton fish and chips shop for years lovely family run business, Never had any problems until the last couple of times I've been the young lad that work's there is Rude and Aragant, Manners don't cost you anything!! Please and Thankyou would be appreciated! Service with a smile and manners. A real let down to the business!! Food is good and all the other membersofstaff are Excellent!!

Let's be honest, this chippie has pulled the stops out over the last year since my last review.. Great quality, greatly improved, great value. We went to wrest park today and thought we would try the Young's chippie in Silsoe. Fish as good, chips nearly as good. But Young's fish is 20% more expensive, Chips 25% dearer and pies 40% dearer (but same pukka pies). Everything else is at least 20% dearer than Barton chippie. So if you want convenience then go local. If you want the same quality but save a lot of money go to Barton chippie.

Excellent online ordering and queuing for made to order takeaway. Order online before going to the shop so you can choose a time to collect. Your order will not be ready before the time ordered, so don't bother turning up earlier than about 5 minutes before. Excellent food.

The food is very good and the owner is a top gent. Definitely recommended.

Booked online and told to arrive at designated time, but had to wait with everyone who just turned up for takeaway, and served 15 mins later. Good food, but can't see the point of pre booking.

I love this fish and chip shop. The food is amazing and the staff are very friendly. If the owner sees children coming in he kindly offers them a lollipop. They have recently renovated and now accept card payments. I highly recommend it.

I have reported the malicious review by Buffolow to Tripadvisor twice now. I have no idea why TA hasnt taken it down. Anyway just to say Barton Fish and Chips has continued to serve excellent meals throughout lockdown and their protocols for Covid are absolutely excellent. I always enjoy my chippy lunch when visiting Barton!

Love the chips here. Currently you queue outside and they call you in. We did a telephone order to pick up...you still queue and pay when you go in.

Very disappointed with my trip a week ago, chips were full of black bits, had to throw nearly all the chips away and the batter for the haddock was soft not fully cooked. Not the usual quality we receive so will now give them a miss,

First time for a long time thought we'd try our local fish shop takeaway, did not dissapoint. Ordered online for 19.30 and ready to collect on time. Batter crispy, chips too. Plaice and haddock were tasty and cooked to perfection.

Sorry but brought a kebab from Barton fish and chips shop Tuesday and saw staff put remainder of the meat which was in the tin into my pitta bread then cut a bit more off which he also place into bread when got home found that the meat was black burnt and unbeatable this is not the first encounter we have had with this chip shop and would not return again

I'm not a fan of battered fish but this is thin and crispy, always tastes fresh and I try to have a small fish when possible. We are regular customers now!
