Seen more toppings on old chewing gum. Over priced and underwhelming. Was really looking forward to my pizza after waiting 45 minutes. I only wish I’d taken a photo of the “pizza”

I had a super fun evening at Portal with a large group - the service was excellent and the pizzas were amazing! Some of the best I’ve had! The aubergine miso one which I think was a special was a 10/10. Everything arrived quickly, despite the size of our group and the staff were really helpful. Don’t skip on the t shirts either 🫶🏻 I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Exeter! ❤️

One of the best neopolitan style pizzas I’ve ever had, period! Not only is the dough exquisite and cooked to perfection, with slightly crusty edges and a soft middle which makes it hold still right where you want it so is easy to devourer, but the ingredients themselves are also fresh making the pizza stand out from the rest of its competitors. From pure, simple yet rich tomato sauce (most likely made with real tomatoes and a pinch of salt, olive oil and not much more) to the fresh mozarella and (in my case) tasty chorizo and pepperoni, a combination that I’ve never tried before but that greatly surpassed my expectations, everything just hits the spot like never before. Me and my buddy also ordered the margarita which was simply delicious. Combine all that with the awesome vibes of the Topsham Brewery right in front and you got yourself a home run. Kudos to the pizzaiolos and staff for keepin’ it real! 🤘🏼

I recently visited Portal Pizza in Exeter, and it’s safe to say I’ve found my new favorite pizza spot! The vibe is super chill, with a cool, laid-back atmosphere that makes you feel right at home as soon as you walk in. Now, onto the main event—the pizza. It’s absolutely amazing! The crust is perfectly crispy with just the right amount of chew, and the toppings are fresh and flavorful. I went for their classic Margherita, and it was spot-on—simple, delicious, and packed with flavor. What really stands out is the quality of the ingredients; you can tell they don’t cut corners. Plus, the staff are super friendly and seem genuinely passionate about what they’re serving up, which just adds to the whole experience. If you’re in Exeter and have a craving for pizza, you’ve got to check out Portal Pizza. Whether you’re dining in or grabbing a slice to go, you won’t be disappointed.

The dough was good, but sadly, burned... and it's a crime to put basil on before cooking. Not many toppings, overall terrible value for money!

Beer and Pizza - two of life's essentials. Last night, I sat in the light drizzle on Exeter Quay and enjoyed both. Topsham Brewery has such a variety of "craft" beers that you're bound to find one to your liking and Portal Pizza serve up some of the best pizzas I've ever tasted. There's not a huge choice but it doesn't detract. As a previous reviewer stated, the dough is the star of the show. Sit inside and the vibe is buzzy, sit outside and enjoy the people watching experience that Exeter Quay provides. Always busy. Even the drizzle couldn't stop this being a 5 star experience.

It used to be great, one of the best pizzas around. But in the last month there is noticeable drop in the quality.

I ordered a margarita pizza with only a small amount of cheese on it for £9. Wasn't worth the money. Atmosphere was great.

Absolutely delicious pizza!! 🍕🥰 My only negative was that I was quoted a half-hour wait and my order was forgotten so I had to remind them but they quickly got my pizzas into the oven!

Topsham Brewery pizza is absolutely my favorite pizza joint, with their dough being the star of the show - it's soft, fresh, and wonderfully moist. Once you try it, you can really taste the difference, and that's what makes this place truly unique and special. This Bank Holiday, after a 9-hour journey exploring some stunning spots around Bristol, we made a spontaneous pit stop in Exeter solely for this incredible pizza. You can imagine how bustling the place was at 4pm on a sunny Saturday! Despite the crowd, the Topsham Pizza staff were visibly exhausted from the constant stream of customers. To add to the chaos, our pizzas initially ended up at the wrong table. However, they quickly rectified the mistake and replaced our orders without any fuss. I just want to extend a huge THANK YOU to the team for not only crafting such beautiful pizzas but also for delivering exceptional service amidst the hectic rush!

Very rude server, no smile no interaction just asking for a table number and when I told him that we just sit around the corner as we haven't chose table yet, he rudely replied "table number". Pizza was somewhere average, bit burned nothing amazing almost like frozen pizza from tesco. Place has potential and it use to be much better but for now is very poorly run. Will try in year maybe again.

I met a friend at Portal Pizza, think we were lucky to get a table as there was a steady queue the whole time we were in there. The place had only been open a couple weeks but it seemed very popular already. Not surprising as the atmosphere, staff & PIZZA were all very good. I’ll be back for sure! Well done!!

Me and my wife visited here on 14.10.23. we had a slice of Margherita and the smokey mountain. They were absolutely superb! Lovely, crispy base and perfectly thin. We visited Italy recently for our honeymoon and it was like being taken back there! They have some really interesting pizza ideas and the service is very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be coming back!

Excellent pizzas, good choice of local beverages within the topsham brewery. We had two "meat feasts" happy to pay a little extra to support a local charity also. The staff here are excellent, and very friendly. Opening a new shop in Magdalen road this week I hear? Cannot wait ❤️💪 Our dog loves it on the green when it's ☀️😎

This place has really gone downhill over the last year or two. Prices have gone up (go on, blame the war in Ukraine like everyone else 🙄) and this is what £14 gets you now. This is a so-called ‘meat feast’! Must be sarcasm or something, because meat was barely present let alone a feast!! A complete rip off when presented with such a poor pizza such as this. My girlfriends Nennella wasn’t any better, which seems to be an exercise is seeing how far a single floret of broccoli can be spread! Incredibly poor pizzas, certainly won’t be spending my money here again, go to On The Waterfront and get a proper pizza.

This has been the best pizza and garlic bread of my life, I am currently weeping because I accidentally took a sip of my pint and it erased the flavours. Gutted. Got the vegan cheesy garlic bread and vegan chick pizza. I am going back to Ireland in the morning and may never be happy again. THANKSSSSESSEDESS

Portal Pizza currently serves the best authentic pizza in Exeter. Brilliant dough, small but good choice of toppings. P.s. it is not burnt, it is cooked correctly.

Great pizza…fabulous selection, absolutely delicious and hot straight from the oven. For those reading the ‘burnt pizza’ reviews, they’re not in our opinion plus they taste better than any high st brand any day of the year!

Burnt pizza. Horrible service & attitude. We got a burnt pizza and they literally had a problem with us pointing this out. Apparently this is how pizzas are... Burnt. They looked and tasted burnt. They made it again, burnt it again but this time without any broccoli. Apparently the couple next to us had the same issue.

The pizza was burnt! and when I requested to get another pizza ..the server was very rude to me about it and then ended up giving the same burnt pizza again!.. on the first time that I got the pizza at my table ..the waiter ..puffed and seeemed annoyed that he had to get pepper for me ..his behaviour was very unprofessional ..when one of the staff came to give the second pizza ( because the first one was burnt) he said ' I hope it's to your liking' which was very rude ..it's not that we were being fussy about the pizza ..but just pointing that was actually really burnt ..second time again. ..the pizza was burnt ..it was a very disappointing experience

Absolutely the best pizza in Exeter to eat out - stunning dough, sublime crust. Perfect prove, the crumb and air pockets in the dough is always en pointe. The passata is clean, fresh, uncomplicated and divine. We had the Porco Rossa which was inevitably sensational. The char on the pizza is always the winning factor, accompanied by their outrageously scrumptious vegan garlic Mayo dip - an absolute must for those pizza bones at the end of each slice. Insatiable with every bite - cannot get enough. Can’t wait wait for the next slice. Chef’s kiss!

The definition of a local gem, we have had the chance to enjoy both the excellent catering from Goierri, but also have been to the restaurant several times - it is now our go-to for when friends or family come to stay and we want to show off the excellent food available in Exeter. Eric, Nita and their family are not just talented chefs, but wonderful hosts. We love their ethos of minimising waste and delivering the best value and freshest of food, by getting people to book and pre-order their meals; meaning from the moment you arrive you can sit back, relax and look forward to all the wonderful flavours to come. The mussels in the Basque salsa verde are fabulous, we can't not order those when we visit. There is a fantastic range of different pintxos, tapas (hot and cold), as well as main dishes and of course the paella which is just delicious. The only thing that could possibly be improved is that they get the opportunity to have more space and more tables - but as that would mean they would have to move, I am very grateful for the current intimate set up and location!

Excellent food, snacks and drinks and a huge selection of games to play. The staff can help with how to play the games and can recommend too. One of our favourite places to eat when we come into Exeter, my kids (11 and 13) already have favourites they like to play but also like picking out interesting looking ones so we always play something new.
