Have been here numerous times. A lovely atmosphere with 100s of games to choose from. The food and drink services are delicious. They take a while to arrive, however as its sole purpose is to play games the timing of food arriving is irrelevant. Highly recommend

Four of us went on a Sunday morning at 11. With an opening of 11am, the chairs were still on tables, and the shop wasn't properly open when we sat down. I think they were understaffed on the day, so this and the slower service wasn't due to the people working there. Food and drinks were really good, loads of games to choose from and a nice atmosphere to sit down.

Fantastic evening with great food, drinks and games. Always lots of classic, new and interesting games. Even tried a fast action co-op game which tested the whole table. Staff are always on hand for recommendations if needed too.

It's a fun place for a snack while playing a board game - many games on the wall shelves. Just pay a small extra fee and play while having your snack.

Love coming to board. Staff are always so helpful and are always willing to give recommendations and help you get set up when trying new games. They also offer a good selection of games to purchase at competitive prices. Frozen raspberry mojito also a firm favourite of ours along with the sweet jars

Fun and good food. Would recommend they use a solvent for wiping down old games as it would remove so much more ink and look less used though. It was a game for us alone wiping down the cards.

Food was okay, however there were limited options. We ordered our meals and one didn't come out until the others had eaten theirs so felt put off eating when everyone was finished. They did offer money off that item. Atmosphere was great and seemed like everyone was having a great time. Games were good, but seemed that there were some limited options for older children, but did notice a few for younger kids. We played exploding kittens, herd mentality and the meme game. Servers were good and did apologize about our food and we're happy to help with any games if we needed it. Overall a nice experience and a great idea, not sure I would opt for food and drinks next time.

I love coming to Board for a chilled night out with friends. Lots of games to choose from, food is cooked fresh, and large portions. The staff are always really friendly and helpful. Such a gem to have found in Exeter!

This is a great novelty social experience and opportunity to try new games without having to commit to buying! The food was great, if a bit pricey - lot of options though from full meals, to snacks and even alcoholic drinks. Staff are friendly and always keen to suggest games or explain how to play them. Spent the full three hours there! I recommend the game "Takenoko". Also if you're a student don't forget to cash in on the 10% discount on food!

Great place to come with friends. Lots of board games to chose from, just wish we could have stayed longer than assigned 3 hours. Ordered new drinks and then 5 mins later was told our table was needed in 10 mins!! Will still be back though!

Amazing staff service concept food Just a perfect experience

We went here with some friends and stayed for around 3 hours. Played around 5 games and also got food. Food was good, the game selection was great! Service was excellent and everyone there was very helpful. £6 or £7 to enter.

Traveled quite far to go here. Very disappointed which is a real shame as the concept is a good. We ordered 4 meals only 2 was served. Once we asked for the other 2 they went back to cook them. We then had to return one Burger which was really Raw in the middle but our child ate quite a lot as to young to notice but stopped eating it as it tasted funny to her. I noticed as wanted to try it, it put me and my daughter off completely when we seen how raw it was . 30 mins later one of the missing meals came out. Another really Raw double Burger for my other child, which we instantly returned. 30 mins later the cheese toasty arrived by this time we all felt sick, maybe the thought of our daughter eating a Raw Burger. The guy who cooked it was really embarrassed, but the annoying part it the lady told him not to worry when he apologised “as it happens to all of us” We really don’t write reviews unless it’s real bad. We are so disappointed and don’t like to complain or confront issues. After leaving and the 2 hour drive home I felt like we should not of payed the £60 and is kicking myself the whole drive that we did not complain or refuse to pay. Looking back the whole experience ruined our day. I felt the there was no sympathy from the lady behind the counter. My child is traumatised and probably won’t eat out again. We did receive the raw burger for free. Let hope this is a one off and some training is provided to the chef to prevent this again. PS, the UNO card pack is mouldy and needs replacing. Also could do with some hand sanitiser on the tables.

My husband and I visited with my 10 year old. The staff were super friendly and helpful,very busy but didn't ever make you feel rushed and customer service was fantastic. Great selection of games and we enjoyed browsing the different choices. Food was delicious but very expensive for what comes on the plate, this was only minor complaint as spent a lot of money on food/entry for something you could technically do at home for free! The novelty, friendliness of the staff and atmosphere made it worthwhile however and was a perfect rainy day activity 🙂

A really lovely, warm and welcoming board game cafe with plenty of choice. The games are well organised and lots of care and thought has gone into the selection. The staff are so lovely too, which absolutely creates a wonderful atmosphere where you can hunker down and play your board games. We were also really impressed with the food. Great in all senses: food was tasty, the waiters were at hand when needed, kind and knowledgeable about the games, and it has a great atmosphere. Came back for the ice cream that same week, it's huge and delicious.

The boardgame bar I visited was a letdown. The entry fee was high for a short stay (45 min for 15 euros per person), and the staff was a bit rude. Prices for drinks were also steep. Not recommended if you go later in the evening.

Had a lovely few hours here. While the collection isn't huge, there is enough to find something to entertain-no matter what you enjoy. We spent an easy 4 hours there and it flew by. The service was nice and friendly, and the atmosphere also lovely. Drinks menu was varied and food was tasty. Recommend.

Was pretty let down by this games cafe, unfortunately. I've been to another games cafe many times (Unplug and Play in Guildford) and they have a huge selection of games. Board advertises having 350+ games, but I honestly have no idea where this number came from? It was a pretty small selection, maybe 100? And for 2 player, I'd say only 20 games maybe. Felt like there were more games for sale than available to play, and some really popular games (unstable unicorns for example) weren't in their library but were only for sale. The other thing I found strange was having such a large menu at a games cafe... some of the games were sticky/grimey and the air was pretty thick with grease. Couldn't stay the full amount of time purely because of the air quality. Also, not to nitpick, but the tables were weirdly high up and it made it a bit awkward trying to move cards/pieces around to play games.

Really nice place to go with a small or larger group of friends. A good choice of games and the food alone is worth going for as it's also really good! Love the homemade lemonades! We've been a few times and the staff are well trained and friendly and on one visit with a larger group of friends one of the staff joined in with us and it was really funny! Looking forward to going back again :)

We've visited Board multiple times and will continue to! Friendly staff and good service, always checking back to see if you need more drinks or need a hand with the game you're playing, really tasty food and sooo many games! So glad to see them open again!

Went for the first time yesterday while in exeter. The concept of the place is amazing. You pay £6.50 for entry and have 3hrs unlimited access to all their board games. From the start all the staff were really lovely and friendly. The food and drinks tasted great and at a decent price. Food had clearly been freshly made and was piping hot. 100% recommend to everyone. It was such a relaxing time.

Adult food was over priced. Kids food was well priced and decent portion. Games had stuff missing but usable.

We loved everything about this place but the service was the highlight. Such knowledgeable, funny, and helpful staff who do everything from explain how your game of choice works to getting you drinks and food. The wide selection of games to play is impressive and we love getting to try new things. The ice cream Sundays are huge and delicious. This place is built for making memories and we hope to return soon!

My first time here with the lads since they recommended the place. I absolutely love the atmosphere in here and the collection of games. We played for a couple of hours till it almost closed haha. Food and drinks will be on the pricey side as you would expect but the cocktails are something to go for! Some are rather unique and they all tasted really good!

Honestly the food selection wasn’t great, but I went on a date and the board game options for 2 people was not big at all. Also the quality and shape the games were in was fairly disappointing and a bit gross..

Brilliant evening playing living forest. Took over 90 minutes to setup but once we started it was an interesting strategy game. I would recommend checking youtube if possible. Had a Louisiana Burger and wife had a chickpea curry stew delicious.

Great place to get introduced to some new board games. Staff are friendly and very helpful and can save time by explaining the instructions to most of the games. The tables are designed so you can put the unused parts and boxes underneath giving room for chips! Tables are for two or more and seats are comfy. Food is good and after a few years of coming I still love the chocolate milkshakes. A really nice and social way of playing a variety of board games. Definately take friends for a great evening. They also have an annual membership for those likely to go often which gives you reduced rates and discounts on games. The atmosphere is relaxed and social.

A lovely board game café/restaurant, with reasonably-priced food to accompany. Staff very friendly, assisted with the learning of games and went above-and-beyond with any request. Compared to some other board game cafés I've been to, it was smaller in game choice (still 100+ to choose from) and also very compact space-wise in general but they make the most of the space available. Would go back again if ever in town again, and would happily spend much longer there!

Nice concept, food was cooked to order and was very tasty, drinks were a bit pricey though. Over all will visit again!

Big fan, a huge range of games at a decent price

I went with my daughter to a Harry Potter quiz evening. Lots of fun with the staff dressed up, butterbeer available and some very clever decorations. Questions were not too hard so everyone was able to get a reasonable number right. Sadly we didn't win but enjoyed the whole evening. Well done to the Board staff 👍

It was cool. You can order a meal or just have a snack and/or drink while you play games with your friends. They have so many games. There are some available for purchase too. Service was friendly and quick. Very informal and casual atmosphere. I recommend it.

This place is great. So convenient. The staff are amazing, they show you the games and explain the rules so that you can dedicate your time to play rather than read the manual. The food is also very good.

Visited today (08/04) to help celebrate my birthday. Had a wonderful time. Extra special thanks to Ollie, who, despite being completely alone in the busy cafe, was attentive, cheerful and personable; a real credit to your business! Will be back again soon.

Had part of my stag do at Board, great atmosphere. Everyone was friendly and really welcoming. The food was amazing. The staff at Board were really helpful with going through the rules with the games.

Very nice board game restaurant - plenty of games to pick from, sizeable tables and a nice selection of drinks, food and snacks. Couldn't ask for more really, except perhaps a copy of Root on offer to play ;)

We booked this place for a staff get together and everyone had a great time. It has a great atmosphere and the staff are really attentive. The menu was eclectic and catered for all tastes. Food was very tasty and generous portion size. Everything was very clean. Well done guys

Some people waited an hour and half for food and we didn't get a warning it would take that long or an apology. The food was coming in 20 minute intervals which makes it hard to play any games. We paid 6 pounds to just be in there with the understanding they would recommend games and help with the rules which they did none of. The staff were disinterested and seemed miserable. Wouldn't bother visiting.

Delicious food and lovely service, had a great time and lots of fun! Unfortunately, the cards from games do smell due to being touch by so many people. Could maybe do with being laminated so cleanable! Other than that, brilliant

A fun afternoon with friends playing board games. Some of the games were a bit tired looking but to be expected. Food and drink service was good.

This is a lovely place - the food is tasty, the games are fun, and the staff are friendly and helpful. I just wish that better ventilation was in place as within 3 hours of arriving my clothes and hair stank of grease from the kitchen. With an airborne virus doing the rounds I might not come back until that's sorted.

The idea of the place is great! The games were fun. Our table was too small to play the game we wanted which was too bad. Some of the game equipment was very worn out and ripped in some places. It would have been better if all of it had been laminated from the beginning. But the drinks were good and the games were fun! Can highly recommend if you want to try out classics you have a great selection (Catan, Carcassonne, Monopoly). You can try new games as well without having the risk of buying a game you might not enjoy in the end.

What a wonderful way to spend a few hours with the family. Friendly staff who have to double add gear chefs, waiters and game gurus, and they do that with such style. Plenty of yummy food. We loved it so much we extended our stay to play another board game and have another milk shake. Love this place.

Fun evening out with my boys here. We spent a good 4 hour here, playing new games and having a bite to eat. Lovely staff, good food, excellent concept and quality time spent with the kids. Not the cheapest, it could be a *little* less, but it was cool though! I'd go back more often if it was a bit cheaper.

Large assortment of games. Tables are available for 3 hours. Gives you time to try out a few new games or have fun with old favourites. The food is pretty good, not amazing but tasty.

Amazing place! Great value (with a discount if you bring your own games!) and with eat out to help out what you pay feels like robbery! We played sushi go and Betrayal at the house on the Hill during a little lunch and had an amazing time. The food was great and all freshly prepared (I reccomend the onion rings they were huge!) and the staff were all lovely, hard working and very accomodating for Covid restrictions. 11/10 will be returning soon!

Had a really enjoyable few hours here, the games selection is huge and really covers any genre you might be in the mood for, raiding from quick party games to longer strategy games. We got drinks and sharing fries, which were all very good too. This has become one of my go-to places for a bit of fun in the evening in Exeter and would definitely recommend it to others too!

Not open on Wednesdays, need to update the opening times. Travelled to Exeter for birthday day out at this board game cafe and it was closed. Apparently closed every Wednesday. Would be nice if the information was correct.

Fun evening out for something a bit different - pay for a set amount of time and play all the games you like. Slightly annoyingly, I booked a time quite late in the evening and wasn't allowed to stay the full duration because they shut earlier. To be told when booking that our timing would be cut would have been nice! Great milkshakes though.
