Toprak Ocakbasi in Barnet

We came here for a weekday lunch, and found it welcoming and helpful. The menu is extensive, offering a wide range of foods to cater for different diets and appetites. We chose a plate of mixed cold mezze and mixed hot mezze, intending to order more when these were finished. The platters arrived, very nicely presented, along with a basket of flatbread, and we started with the hot food. There were two servings of each food, with generous chunks of haloumi, and very tasty falafel and calamari, to identify a few. The cold platter was delicious, with well above average hummus and tarama. We finished both plates and did not feel the need to order more food. As we sat and digested, the host brought us slices of fresh melon, a welcome close to the meal. I would like to go back and try other dishes.

The food was delicious. It was so fresh, well cooked and really good portions. The whole family loved it and we will visit again.

Ordered via Just Eat as a takeaway. Most vegetarian options on the menu contained aubergine. Got the moussaka, halloumi wrap, cous cous and falafels with hummus. The moussaka didn’t look very appetising as by the time it was delivered it was a soggy mess having lost all the layers. The wrap was delicious and so was the cous cous. Overall quite authentic taste.

Enzo Oliveri has won my heart with his Taste of Sicily in Panton Street to the west of Leicester Square in London's West End. He has gallantly hosted my art classes, birthday etc etc. However I have a similar relationship with Toprak Ocabasi located at the junction of North End Road and West Heath Drive London NW11. Conveniently located opposite Golders Green tube station this place is heavenly. The owner and his daughter will win your hearts over with their excellent Turkish food and music. They will soon make you feel like you are missing something. That warm feeling of true friends, excellent service, valiant souls striving to manifest on Planet Earth something of the truly divine. With the utmost simplicity and modesty. That's as it should be. Aleichem salaam, shalom, litraot, arrivederci, whatever your creed or colour, as long as you love good food, good wine, good drink and the sound of laughter they will make you happy. Whether you are omnivorous, vegan or something in between.

I’ve just left after dining at Toprak and would definitely recommend this place! The service was very good from the start through to the end. Upon ordering my main meal, they decided to bring our hummus, olives and bread all complimentary. My mixed grill came with a big colourful and delicious salad. The food tasted great and they also gave a complimentary melon and Turkish delight at the end. I would nightly recommend this place and would love to return.

Everytime I go back from Italy to Golders Green where I used to leave I can't avoid going in this restaurant. Amazing food, amazingly fast service and amazing atmosphere. I have been there on Saturday with 8 more people, it was my birthday. At the end of the dinner they turned off the light and brought to us some nice and fresh melon and watermelon and for me a nice piece of chocolate cake with a candle of it, free of charge without anyone asking for it. Amazing! There are a there a few more restaurant like this GG, but for me this will always be the best! If you want to eat some fresh and tasty meat, salad and so on, this place will do! Oh i was made so welcome. Just a quick snack but the service couldn't be faulted and the food delicious. It was busy with all nationalities on fathers day. Just lived it. So friendly and warm.

we asked for vegetarian platters and one without cheese got a dish with sausage, calamari and cheese pastries, we asked the waitress twice for vegetarian and kept getting the same dish back. We told the manager and he said that calamari is vegetarian and the cheese is feta so its ok. it was very frustrating because we had to keep asking and the waitress did not understand us at all and yet they were friendly so we were sad that we had to keep complaining. Otherwise it is lovely.

Whilst visiting an Embassy, this small restauarnt has been somewhere we have visited a coupleof times.

After a bit of a break we decide to eat kebab rather than sushi and this place seemed to be the place to return to. We were left disappointed with the experience but difficult to say why. It was very quiet which was unusual, the food was good on the whole, sufficient but no longer interesting, the service was stumbling to non-existent and the menu had changed. It didn't help that my former excellent choice was no longer available and my alternative was just too bland for my taste. The ready-made dessert which one of us had was just a waste of money but our Turkish coffees were pretty good. The high point was that the white wine was excellent. Difficult to look forward to a return visit.

Toprak Ocakbasi is a nice place if you are coming for a dinner with friends and looking for quite a place. Service is good as well.

We were in Golders Green for one week and ate here 3x! My daughter would have eaten here every day if we let her. The food was delicious and the lentil soup was the best. The staff were very attentive. Location was great.

excellent food in a nice surrounding and at a sensible price generous portions aswell what more could you want (apart from a bottle of EFES) but at the time of writing the owners are in the process of aquiring a licence for alcoholic drinks - well worth a visit - highly recommended great service

Food edible but below expected quality, service is shoddy and was not happy to pay the £44 for the 3 mains. Would not recommend or return.

They have consistency here - I regularly get takeaways and eat in and have never been disappointed. Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. Service is impeccable. A brilliant example of Turkish cuisine at affordable prices.
