Absolutely spot on 14th time we've ordered from here still as tasty as the 1st order.got the name right top taste fisheries.

Absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked food. Staff were very polite and gave a lot of chips. Best chippy in hull and will definitely be coming again. Lives up to its name TopTaste Fisheries :)

Planned visit to McDonald’s was spoilt by too many waiting to get in to drive through so since we had to go down southcoates on way home decided to pop here for some fish and chips. Very glad we did, cooked from scratch and just right not under or over done. Plenty of chips ( too many for me to manage even having given some to the wife) and lovely fish. First time of visiting and won’t be the last if this first is to go by. Hard to find a good chippy now but this one on first impressions is certainly that. Can’t comment on the negative reviews only on mine and it was 5* quality. Well done to the staff and owners. Be back soon. 👍🏻

What a smelly shop. It stinks. Staff look like they need a good wash. Serving food in hoodies and puffa jackets. Get white overalls on and hats , your not in a youth club. Food not good . Will not be returning.

The first time visiting this place since new management took over and the name changed from ocean basket to the current one. The menu's were somewhat misleading and were written in such a way that made you think you were getting a meal for cheaper than what it actually was. E.g. a large fish and chips was £6 and at the top of the menu it said served with peas, curry or gravy. When in reality if you got all that with it you'd get it as a large fish special which was actually £7.50. We ordered 1 large special + plus 3 small specials and a Pattie. We got home to find the pattie was missing and when we called them we were given an apology and told we could go back to pick it up, but that would've meant the food going cold by the time we got it. So they have said they will give it to us next time which is good enough. As for the food itself it was ok, the fish was good, although the batter was a little soggy and not very crisp, chips weren't too bad but could've been a little more crisp. Overall I don't think it quite lives up to the name of Top Taste.
