The location is great as all the shopping malls are in walk-able distance, with a car-park from the council right next door. £3 for 24hrs! Dont be fooled to use The Prince's Quay one behind! (Over priced) Staff we're very helpful, and well spoken. Helped us have fresh water, as non given in the room. Breakfast was filling, and plenty to choose from. (Fruit, cereal, coffee machine, fresh juice, muffins, and full English!) The room was perfect for a short stay. Just could do with a bathroom ceiling scrub, and air con fixing for the summer in room 201! Otherwise, all round pretty damn good for price. Had everything you need for a stay.

Great value for money, within a 2 minute walk from venues in Hull such as the City Hall and the Connexin. Room was very comfortable and had everything we needed! However, a staff member decided to make a comment about the act we were going to see, and was very negative towards them, which made us feel awkward. Apart from that, the rest of the staff were lovely :)

The noisy extractor fan in the bathroom runs continuously without an option to switch off. If you’re noise sensitive , avoid. Won’t be booking again for this reason.

Staff were friendly, room was okay. Unfortunately, I found the room not really big enough to get around using my wheelchair. The gap between the bed and the passage points was very narrow. That being said, the accessible bathroom at least had a wet room shower and bars in decent positions.

I am confused about how this place has such high ratings. I stayed two nights, the place is filthy. A lady was smoking in the elevator. The room was gross and dirty. The people were friendly enough, but I would stay elsewhere for the money.

I understand this hotel is regarded as a "budget hotel" but surely for just under 50 pounds you should still provide clean rooms. I was tired due to a long flight from NYC and had my MSc graduation the next morning in Hull. Thus, I booked the ibis hotel because it was in close proximity hotel to the ceremony hall. Firstly, a small bottled water purchased at whole sale costs less than 50p each. Providing a small complimentary bottle for guests shows you care as opposed to the "drink water from the sink" offer I had upon arriving to my room. Secondly my carpets were so dirty I could feel it under my bare feet walking in my room. The room had not been aired out so it was musty. The obsolete A/C was loud whilst attempting to heat the room. I was not happy with the conditions of my room but then again it is called a budget hotel for a reason. All my colleagues stayed at the holiday express were happy with their rooms. It seems I have learned my lesson the hard way when booking a hotel for a visit in Hull. Btw the lady at the reception desk was friendly which is a good thing about the hotel at least. Edit: The Hotel Manager, Phil offered to provide a full refund for what he says was an isolated incident. I respect the gesture. I hope he takes on board the things I highlighted nonetheless. A refund is one thing and returning customer who had a good experience with your services is another thing too.

I have been staying at this hotel for about three years. The hotel reception and cleaning staff are very good at their job, they are all smiling and very friendly. I would like to thank the Accor group of companies for their success in selecting the staff and hotel staff. Many thanks to Ms. Linda, Ms. Natasha, Ms. Lieghan, Ms. Janet, Ms. Alisha, Ms. Jess and all the staff I cannot name.

The location is a 5- star. It is so close to the city centre and the train station. After leaving the Hull Interchange bus terminal, only less than 10 min walk to the hotel. Convenient. There is a Wetherspoon ( for breakfast ) nearby which I would recommend. Convenient as well if I don't want to explore some new restaurants when the sky is dark ( around 1600 every day ) it would be a good choice to have dinner + a pint of beer. Suggestion for the hotel : is it possible to check all the light bulbs in room 15 , ground floor, please ? there was a light above the long table, next to the closet was blown out. Thank you. ^________^ no photo sorry.

Great Location, few minutes walk from Train station, Rooms probably a bit dated but extremely clean and large enough, Quiet at night and had decent sleep. Small but good menu in cafe-bar, Food was good, Staff extremely friendly and helpful, Allowed me to leave bags until needed to head off for ferry and also allowed me to check in early after arriving in morning from mini cruise on our return, Would definitely stay again when in Hull.

We stayed here for one night as we were watching Sir Ranulph Fiennes in a talk at Hull City Hall. The hotel was clean, staff were friendly and the room was basic but functional; just like we had intended. There is free hotel WiFi, the windows in the rooms can be opened which was great for me as I love fresh air. Not a fan of all these sealed windows and air con type rooms. Based on my experience from this brief stay I would be happy to recommend this hotel; its city centre and only a very short walk from the train station.

We had a play booked in Hull and wanted a cheap and cheerful overnight stay. Ibis was exactly that, basic, warm and all our needs were met. Very friendly staff was the icing on the cake. Only minutes walk from the train station.

The staff in the hotel are lovely, very kind and not overly corporate which makes a refreshing change. They make the hotel a welcoming place to stay. The hotel is a budget hotel, it is clean and the beds are comfy. The rooms are a bit tired and would benefit from a freshen up, new carpets, curtains and a general refresh would be great I'd happily pay a little more of the rooms were updated. Having said that we come to Hull roughly 3 times a year and for the price you can't complain, it offers very good value for money

Food crumbs under the bed, accessible room with very little room to get my chair into, bed had 2 thin mattresses on top of eachother and a mattress topper, very very outdated decor, plug sockets, furniture and sink, felt like we were inside a very old container. Dirty stains all over the carpet, very small room, not as it looked online. Never staying in an ibis again

Out for a birthday meal, and it was great. We tried the rustic and classic pizza. Turns out the rustic has a thinner base, we preferred the classic but both were good. They were great with sorting out the grandkids food first and quick. When they brought out the birthday cake loads of staff and customers joined in singing Happy Birthday to our daughter. Brilliant!
