Bowery in Kingston upon Hull, City of

I’m a tradesman working away so live on a daily budget. This evening I arrived at 18:00 for food only to be told as it’s been a quiet day they are not serving food. I extremely annoying as this has been a go to spot for my evening meals for the past 2 months. Girl with the long black hair with back tattoo. Disappointed.

It's alright, barman are top tier

A genuinely nice pub, the service is always professional and the drinks are always cold and refreshing. The meals that I've tried have all been good value for money and tasty. There's always a nice atmosphere with lots of friendly faces

Brilliant classic pub food good size portions at a good price and well cooked. Staff are friendly and accommodating this has become a regular lunch stop

Quality well ran place! Lots of different drinks options, plenty of seating and well placed screens, clean facilities. Also special credit to the doorman on Sunday night (Eng v Spain), vigilant and professional, helped provide a safe environment

Bowery is a traditional pub/sports bar. There is a good selection of beers larger and cider, including a cask conditioned real ale, which was in excellent condition when I called in. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The pub is large but has cosy separate areas. One room has booths with TVs. There is an outside seating area at the front of the pub and a nice covered outside seating area at the back. There is a pool table in a secluded area at the back of the pub. It is a great pub for watching big sporting events.

(Sunday experience) Nice bar/pub. Sky sports on tv with plenty of tvs all over. Multiple games showing. Great standard food. Pool table at back with its own tv. Clean toilets. Plenty of drink to choose from. Great location. Parking at rear. Has mini digital arcade games. All in all, a very good place to chill with friends and family.

I was only dropping off my disabled wife, was confused about drop off charges if any plus couldn't identify a disabled parking spot!

So I have to change my review entirely since the latest menu change. The food is really not anything to feel positive about anymore however the service and staff are still super friendly, the atmosphere is nice and the venue is very welcoming.

I had good afternoon at bowery I saw a new menu and tried I had just club baguettes wich was well presented for drink I had shipyard nice fantastic pale ale but when I asked to the manager for a drink she asked me if I want buy 3 for 10 pound wich was again a good deal I didn't drink all the beer just one and the manager told me don't worry I will save for you next time when you come back here I was so pleased thank you for a lovely food drink and staff I will come back more often thank you

We were down for our son's wedding and we tried the Bowery for Sunday lunch and we weren't disappointed. Good food and a generous portion.

I like the fact that the pub is always warm! As are the staff; very welcoming and polite. The young lady behind the bar remembered me - and my drink - on only my second visit. I will be back.

Won’t be coming here again, I came here after I googled “pub with car park” but it doesn’t have a car park, the car park is managed by a predatory parking company and even though there’s some way of getting free parking if you spend money at the pub, the way to achieve this was convoluted. I’m not gonna pay to park in a place where I’m spending money, I’ll simply go somewhere else in future. They’ll try to fine me but I’ll ignore it, so it’s lose lose lose for everyone: me, the pub, and the hideous horrible predatory parking company. Well done Bowery.

Good pub ! Good was quick and tasty, beer was good value and Pool table was spot on.

If you enjoy your food and ale whilst some prat is smoking a toxic stinking vape next to you then this is your pup, if not there is other alternatives nearby, enter at your peril

A better example of a Marstens pub

Top notch bevs by the one and only guy with the cool beard and red flannel, his service was out of this world, definitely will come back ;)

We will never visit this place ever again, a £100 fine for a couple of mins over in the carpark while dinning with you, parking eye have a contact with Marsdens Brewery so your responce to the last person complaining about £100 fine saying its nothing to do with you and you dont like it either is utter rubbish, if you dont like it Marsdens should cancel the parking eye contract like many other businesses have like Coop and Aldi due to how many customers theyve lost, youve lost us for good, and i thought pubs were struggling and could ill afford to lose customers but you are digging your own graves !!! Us and our friends have taken our business else where so well dome Marsdens !!!

Went last night for father in laws birthday, had an excellent time, food was great, drinks were great, not too pricey, compliments to the chef, will recommend and also visit again 👍🏻👌🏻

Lovely beer garden and nice selection of drinks. Princes Avenue has become the place to be and this is the centerpiece of the area.

Visit if you want a lovely £100 parking fine. Only received letters too late after moving address. Visited the pub for a total of 36 minutes to receive an ungodly fine. Parking notices are NOT readily visible upon entry to the rough area of ground behind called a car park. Shocking

Sorry, my previous post was incorrect. You were right it was supposed to have been posted for another venue. Gluten Free food was great and unexpected, we would revisit again as it is rare to find somewhere that only has the ubiquitous salad, gammon or steak choice.

New furniture a must. The fact that they don't refurbish the furniture shows how much they hold their customers in contempt.

£8.25 for a pint of stella & a pint of strongbow is way to much. Nice pub. Nice staff. Nice atmosphere. But £8.25

my experience can only be described in two words, fantastic! it was like when you really need to sneeze and it finally happens. i only popped in for a glass of water and a bag of crisps, but ended up having dinner 4 times throughout the day, including the best steak ever known. i really had the time of my life, and i owe it all to you. the atmosphere, wow! the staff, double wow! the squirrel outside, triple wow! i shall soon be returning with all of my friends and family (and mark) and making sure they try everything on the menu! i am completely overwhelmed by my experience and i could cry (i am right now), i am in disbelief a place like this exists. i have been crying for weeks (over something else.)

I dined at the Bowery for my step nephews birthday and it was fantastic. The staff navigated me through the gorgeous scenery of what is the Bowery and I could not wait to tuck into my luxurious 1 course meal. It was at that moment I realised today was going to be a good day, all my problems had suddenly disappeared and what was left was a gorgeous memory on my lips. It was like my step nephew had been born all over again. The view from my window was magnificent I saw a squirrel go by. the toilets are nice too, Thankyou Bowery of Hull I love you

Popped in for a few drinks after a meal. It was very quiet. There was loads of space. Staff were polite. Lots of seats to choose from. The section I sat in were a little worn and the decor is in need of a little TLC but nothing major.

Great space to park behind the pub. It’s a pay and display but you can claim your money back at the bar for your ticket if your drinking/eating there. Ordered a steak for my lunch and it was delicious. Staff were really helpful and a nice relaxed atmosphere, definitely be revisiting.

A great pub, always friendly people & staff, always a different crowd every week, great vibrant atmosphere with live dj's on Saturdays, playing great music.

Lovely staff that you can really get on with, the food was great as well (the salted caramel cheesecake was soooo good), loved the drinks choices and good spacing inside so you can either sit in a booth and it's comfy and private or sit out in the open with a group. Would recommend.

Asked the young man outside for 2 half's lager 2 half's cider he brought 4 pints costing 14.80 pointed this out to him but totally blanked us . Poor customer service . Other establishments on princes ave who will get order right and give good customer service . Bowery very disappointing service tonight.

I didn't dislike Bowery, I found it a very likeable and friendly place.

Really dissatisfied with the food, fish was not fish, it was mainly batter. Rock hard. My mums burger wasn't good, supposed to be mozzarella cheese stack. Deep fried cream cheese is not mozzarella. Certainly wouldn't recommend this place.

Desperate, one cask ale on which lasted for one pint (nice IPA to be fair) but once this was finished unwilling or unable to add any more cask ales. If you like bog standard puff juice, cider or Manfield Smooth this is the place for you. Where are Mark and Lisa when you need them.

After trying four or five different places, this was the only one that would let us in with both a baby and a dog! Very friendly and welcoming.

Looking a bit 'tired' but a good atmosphere when we visited.

Meals good as usual but unfortunately the heating seems to go off about 6pm so will reconsider eating there again during the winter.
