Top Chinese Takeaway in Broxtowe

tried recently wasn't great, food was very poor and tasted awful, I'll stick to my normal one next time

Very disappointed with the quality, quantity and temperature of the takeout food we received. The Thai green curry had the consistency of water. The Spicy Chicken dish we ordered was mostly onions and the beef in black bean had way too much green peppers. The Crispy squid should be renamed, wobbly cold squid 🤢 All of it was Luke warm and didn't taste fresh. I can't afford to pay good money for an awful meal. We have had some nice meals from here in the past which makes it even more disappointing. I will on the lookout for a new Chinese Takeaway. *EDIT The issue has been rectified. The Owner came round and replaced the food which was extremely nice and we appreciate this gesture. Thank you

Seems may have changed ownership? Ordered our normal order tonight and it's completely different and much poorer in quality. Was the best Chinese in Stapleford. Salt and pepper chilli chips - cold, soggy, no chilli. Fried rice had clearly been sitting for ages. Chicken wings now deep fried and I suspect straight out of the freezer bag. Sweet & sour was brown rather than the usual red and totally bland. Avoid, which is a shame, as not long ago it was always fresh, hot & tasty.

Absolutely awful! We've ordered from here in the past but tonight the food was inedible. The chicken fried rice was sour and tasted off. The chicken was vinegary. Both tubs went in the bin. The curry sauce was jellied. So annoyed what a waste of money! Tried ringing no one answers.

Great for a lovely authentic meal

We ordered via the Just Eat app last night as our usual takeaway of choice was not taking orders. The food came to £53, so not cheap. We were told via the app that the delivery slot would be between 19:50 hours and 20:10 hours. The food actually arrived just after 20:30 hours. When we checked the bag the containers did not feel hot, and clearly the food had been hanging around in the delivery driver’s car, rather than coming to us straight from the restaurant. The crispy duck was luke warm and overcooked and the portion not particularly generous in size. The chicken with ginger and spring onion had about as much ginger as you could see through a microscope. What is the general issue about Chinese takeaways not giving you enough ginger with this particular dish? Is ginger a particularly expensive ingredient? If I had known, I would have prepared some of my own in advance and put it in. The rest of the food was warm, generally okay, but not hot, other than the rice. Based upon the former, a particularly disappointing and at best average experience. Poor value for money, and I certainly will not be ordering again from Top Chinese Takeaway. Three stars is generous in this context.

Good Chinese and I can get yuk sung here which I really like. The lady at the front even nipped over to Sainsbury's for me to get a lettuce 😃👍

I get my takeaway from here I wouldn't go any where else it's always lovely and hot 😋.

Good food prepared quickly. A lot of mixed reviews but we had a good experience and tasty food and that’s saying a lot because we had two vegetarian meals and sometimes they’re not great but this was tasty 10/10.

This is a very clean place to get your food and they welcome you with a nice greeting

Being a long term customers, we normally really enjoy the food here, not this time, the food was ice cold, the rice was completely dry, bbq spare ribs were all gristle and the sauce had gone to a jelly because it was ice cold, the curry had also gone into a jelly, the chips were really dry, we opened everything up but decided not to eat it just in case we got food poisoning, better to be safe than sorry. We waited over a hour for what’s got to be the worst food we have ever had delivered. Sorry Top Takeaway, I’m a believer that food should never be served like that, therefore, never again will we order. £38.00 thrown away. Look after your customers and they will always come back. Not now.

This restaurant is delicious. They have the best spring rolls of anywhere I have EVER eaten. I've also had the Singapore Rice Noodles twice. Very good, but a bit too spicy for me. But those spring rolls 🤤🤤🤤

Favourite Chinese in Stapleford! We have ordered from here copious times and never been let down. And I WILL be ordering here again tonight!

Worse Chinese place I've ever used,hair found in food and apparently their policy is have to go to their shop to get refund they don't come back out and was very rude I choose to not come to your restaurant as I don't drive and I would have to be out of pocket again to get a taxi there and back any other Chinese takeaway would have replaced with a fresh meal and the person who came to deliver my food broke my gate she slammed my gate and the lock fell off

Ordered a meal on line, got a confirmation email saying it would be an hour, money taken from account. 20 minutes later 2 International phone calls from Ireland!! The only Irish people I know live in Stapleford! So not answering those. An hour later I phoned top's takeaway to find out how much longer my meal was going to be only to be told the order had been cancelled, no explanation was given but told that someone in Ireland had tried phoning twice to say it was cancelled, why would someone in Ireland phone me to cancel a meal I'd ordered in Stapleford uk!!!!!!!!

Exactly what I expected, the food is tasty and the service is good, I can't complain, this has now become our new regular Chinese takeaway.

I wouldn't say the food was bad as take away quality, but there was a piece of Scourer in the food. Lucky we didn't swallow it.

Working in town Not been here before and read mixed reviews having said that got the sweet & sour ribs, excellent very nice sauce / gravy not too thick not too sweet should have got some rice or chips definitely go there again. 👍

First time using this place Absolutely disgusting 🤢 chips really dry (obviously reheated! That much soy on the noodles they were nearly black! Phoned the restaurant absolutely terrible customer service and having to go through just eat for refund! NEVER AGAIN WILL I ORDER FROM HERE

Took the money for my order, then said it's too far for delivery (10 min drive) Then claimed they could not refund for 3-5 days.

My normal Chinese has closed after a lifetime so in the look out for a new one .. tried here can't say i loved it but it wasn't bad either ... Still looking for better but if in a rush i would use here again

Wanted to charge me £4 delivery even though I live 2.3 miles away and was spending £75! Really Rude used Evergreen in chilwell they were fantastic and £20 cheaper for the same order.

Never had a bad meal yet......very spicy full of flavour and has always arrived still hot.
