Superb fish and chips from Tony's fresh fish bar, freshly cooked by Tony as you wait, what lovely friendly service in this chip shop, if in the area again we will will not hesitate to return again, we have yet to taste the steak pies we also bought but have no doubt they will be equally as good.

Stopped here on way home, Small place probably have to be local to Know it. Definitely a hidden gem on the main Road as sorts. Had pie and chips local Harrison’s pies Really good. If I was served by Tony then what A Top bloke great food. Gonna have the Fish for sure next time

Fantastic food. My son loves the chicken burger. My other son loves the fish and chips. I adore a chip butty with curry sauce. Yummy. The pies are to die for too. A must visit you will love it. Great people that work there. A real happy family atmosphere. Paper carrier bags used and fish and chip boxes - great for the environment. 10/10

A real proper traditional Fish and Chip shop, chips are superb, fish very fresh and the pies are amazing. Thoroughly recommended if you are anywhere near and worth stopping off for if you are passing through.

Without a doubt the best chippy around, called in on tuesday in a tsunami downpour , only getting home and devouring fantastic food made me feel normal(ish) again,well worth a visit

The food is always well prepared and very tasty, the fish and pies are out of this world and Anthony and Sarah as well as all the staff are always welcoming. When we want treat ourselves with something indulgent or a picnic in the countryside, it's the first place we think of going to. As a customer of many years we've never had a bad meal, the fish is some of the best we have ever had and the local steak pies are really special. They know their stuff and won't disappoint.

Good Food, chips seem homemade which is great but it's a shame they don't open Saturday afternoon. Please open on Saturdays!

The food is great. Always hot and fresh. Try the steak pies. They are home made and to die for. I travel to rawtenstall from Manchester just to visit this chippery. Only complaint is that is not open on a Saturday afternoon. I love this chippy and can’t get there during the week. Give it a try and I promise you will be back.

This has always been top class fish and chip shop, but it also sells wet fish. Also very good for breakfast baps of all varieties.If your passing well worth a try you won't be disappointed

Food is cooked to order. Portion size was good and food was tasty. It was a bit cold when we ate it- did not travel home well although I would say we were eating it within 10 minutes of being served. We had a fishcake, fish and chips. Definitely better to eat outside as soon as you have been served.

Firstly this is not a restaurant but a fish and chip shop which also sells fresh fish for you to cook at home. The fish which is cooked on site is needless to say, fresh and excellent and the chips are expertly cooked, what more could you want from a chippy. The owner and his wife are friendly and welcoming. The only downside is, it only opens Monday to Friday and closes each day at around 6, it is however open all day on those days.

Love this old fashioned little shop and friendly staff. Fish always freshly cooked, batter soooo tasty, lovely fresh white chunky fish and just the best chips. You order the fish as you go in and your served as soon as it's ready. What's not to like.

Tony sells good size fish and his chips a very good, he can get you fresh fish if you place an order with him.

El pescado estaba recién fritos con mantequilla y como justo en frente de mí eran las patatas fritas. Mi hijo también tenía un jumbo salchichas con patatas fritas y salsa de curry. Tony y su esposa son una pareja encantadora amable y obviamente orgullosos de su cocina. El pescado, patatas fritas y curry (curry con opcional lloviznando sobre el pescado de si lo prefieres así) estaba delicioso. Recomiendo encarecidamente y sin duda volveremos!

A popular shop but definitely not the best chippy in town. £1.60 for a bag of chips! His batter is not very good but portion sizes are big, so great if you are hungry but not bothered by the lower quality.

We have visited this chippy many times over the years, as, although they used vegetable oil, the fish and chips were nice, as far as fish and chips cooked in vegetable oil goes. There just isn't anywhere in East Lancashire that cooks their fish and chips the traditional way, like in Yorkshire, which is to use beef dripping, But now Tony has introduced an option to have the fish cooked in this way, and now it is surely the best chippy in East Lancashire. I find fish and chips cooked in vegetable oil leave a bland oily taste to proceedings, but now we have golden brown crispy favoursome fish and chips in East Lancs! a godsend!

Being a lover of fish and chips, I am prepared to travel for the very best......... which I have found at Tony's in Rawtenstall.The choice is wide, with plenty of great chips but the Fish offered is superb, fresh and prepared to exacting standards as you wait.Do try it, there are not many good local chippies left.Tony B

Great fish and chips, no excess grease and the batter is lovely and crisp. Mainly take away, but does have a window table were 4 people could sit..

Food is always lovely and fresh, staff always take the time to acknowledge you, no matter how busy they are, great fish and chips, at a very reasonable price. Never been disappointed with this place

Lovely fresh fish, great chips and huge portions! No cafe but sit outside on the benches or walk across the road and sit in the beautiful Old Fold Garden and relax but PLEASE put your litter in the bin!

We go here loads, usually when I can't be bothered to cook tea! The service is always great, the chips/fish/mushy peas are superb, and Tony must be the friendliest fish and chip owner ever!

Arrived with a party of 8 and we had to scrunch around a tiny table, even though there is plenty of room for more. The staff told us they are planning to buy some more. So to the food, we had bagels and soup. Both were very good with the soup being home made and very tasty. The staff were helpful and accommodating for our varied needs. The pricing is varied and good value all in all.
