Tony Macaroni in Edinburgh, City of

Booked a table for 4 at this venue and on entering the establishment I wondered if it was closed because there where no lights on and this made it very unwelcoming. We where directed to our table and it became quickly apparent that there was no heating on in the place either. It was absolutely freezing and coupled with the lack of lighting this made the whole dining out experience very miserable. Our order was taken and the food was less than impressive, I ordered the spaghetti bolognaise and had to leave half of it because the temperature of the food quickly decreased because of the temperature of the restaurant, it was very cold and had to leave my coat on for the entirety of the meal. We couldnt wait to quickly grab the bill and get out of there!!!! Would not recommend and will not be visiting again!!!

Service was shocking food took 45 minutes to come. They then told us we could only have pizza when at the time people where ordering burgers,ribs and pasta etc we then received our food which looked nice don’t be fooled it was herdnously greasey but wood rate 8.5 points off because I wanted ribs.

We arrived for table at the booked time of 7:30, and were left waiting 10-15 minutes to receive a menu. Once our order was taken, we waited a further 30 minutes to receive our drinks. After a further wait our starter was put down on the wrong table, lifted and then put onto ours. By this time the starters were cold. Furthering on from this when our mains came after another long wait they too were cold. Other tables around us were chasing up their food, having long waits and asking how long it would be before they could eat. We were planning on having 3 courses but decided to leave after two as we felt very uncomfortable and just wanted to leave. Additionally, our visit was made more uncomfortable by the staff shouting at each other and arguing in different languages across the restaurant. We were then obviously expected to pay full price at the end of the experience. As well as this the restaurant was cold and we had to keep our jackets on inside to remain at a comfortable temperature

Wow! We were very impressed indeed by the standard of customer service and the lovely food this evening. The restaurant and toilets were spotlessly clean too. We were rushing to go to a concert and were pushed for time, which was such a shame as we really enjoyed our meal and were sorry to have to go without dessert. My mushroom risotto was deliciously creamy and my daughter’s nduja, sundried tomato and basil pizza was just perfect. Our party also had the mussels, the lasagne and the Siciliano burger. All were cooked to perfection from quality ingredients. Leandro (the manager) could not have been more helpful, friendly and attentive. He encouraged us to come back soon, when we have more time to sit and linger over our meal- something we intend to do and something we will look forward to. The waitress with long dark hair (sorry, didn’t catch your name) was also very accommodating and friendly. Well done and thank you, Leandro and staff.

I'm done with toni macaroni at fort Kinnaird Edinburgh, £6.50 service charge for poor service, waited ages to get our order taken, waited ages for the food, food was bland, definitely not enough staff, staff looked miserable, will not be back!!!!!

Thought it was weird that the resturaunt was quiet. We sat down and only 3 tables were occupied. The resturaunt was like an ice box with tiny heaters on floor and our starter arrived OK, it was 2 different Bruschetta which were OK but the bread was hard to cut as over cooked. We chose the half pizza and pasta for our main and when it arrived it was freezing cold within a couple of minutes due to the resturaunt being so cold, my wife was so cold she went off eating her food. On trying to pay the manager kept telling us about how the Aircon has not worked since July and all they were given were 2 measly domestic heaters. It took 20 mins to even try to pay for our over priced 'cold meals as none of the card payment readers would work. I for 1 won't eat in any Tony Macaroni restaurant's again as the meal was substandard,cold and the resturaunt is in dire need of a refurbishment. £57 for cold bland food. Very disappointed Tony Mac!

Awful, restaurant is freezing cold. Had to ask to place our order after being there for 20 minutes. Staff were arguing with each other in front of customers and talking about customers at the pass. No heating in December is appalling.

Shocking service. Staff don’t give a damn. Food was cold. Restaurant was freezing. Wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.

My wife and I were at the fort kinnaird restaurant ( and after todays experience I use the term restaurant very loosely )today with our nephew and to say we were utterly disappointed is a total understatement . We ordered bruschetta which was basically burnt toast with mozzarella that was so well cooked it resembled melted plastic then it was topped with tomatoes which were actually okay , we had a Caesar salad which was nothing like what it should have been and didn’t remotely taste like Caesar salad. We also had a bacon bbq pizza which was surprisingly okay but the worst is yet to come as we got a spaghetti carbonara which was completely tasteless and as far as we were concerned was inedible and we got our nephew the crispy chicken and chips and the only thing that was crisps were the chips because they were so over cooked and the chicken was completely inedible as it had been deep fried and was completely soaked with grease . We spoke to a member of staff and the carbonara was taken off our bill which still came to £40.20 and returned later with another carbonara which I didn’t even try . I can only describe the food that was served to us as the worst food I have been served!! For this place to describe themselves as an Italian restaurant is an insult to the Italians and their food , avoid at all costs !!

Called in on the off chance for some lunch on a Saturday. It wasn’t very busy in there and we were seated straight away. The place was absolutely freezing, one of the waitresses was walking round taking orders with her coat on!! Service was quite slow…. We waited nearly half an hour for our food AFTER we had received our drinks! 4 of us had our food at the same time, we were assured that it would be a 2 minute wait for the final meal to get to us….. we waited over 10 minutes for it to arrive. Nobody came to us to ask if everything was ok with our food…. And when paying the bill, we weren’t asked either if everything was ok…. Maybe the staff knew it wouldn’t have been ok and that’s why we weren’t asked?? Thankfully…. We were only here in Edinburgh staying with family, and because we don’t have this restaurant near where we live, we won’t need to visit again……

Never again . Cold restraunte. Tasteless food . Slow service . Disorganised. Totally disappointing.

The restaurant was quiet when we went in for lunch, staff appeared friendly & there was no wait. When food came bruschetta was disappointing, just dry, toasted bread with chopped tomatoes on it. My daughters burger was undercooked, my carbonara, I though, was good. However a couple of hours later I was very ill. Won't be back I'm afraid.

Restaurant wasn't busy and took the waitress around 20 minutes to come and take the order. She came because I caught her attention. Waiters and waitresses walked by our table a few times and saw our menus there and none of them decided to come and take the order. We finally ordered and took 45 minutes for a pizza and some pasta to come. Pizza was ok, pasta was tasteless. Once we finished nobody came to clear the table. 15 minutes later I called a waitress and asked for a coffee. 20 minutes later coffee hadn't arrived. I asked for the bill, paid ans left. The coffee hadn't been charged. I don't know if they have changed owners and the whole staff but definitely not the same experience I had previously had. None of the waiting staff looked familiar. Not gonna go back.

Great pizza, made with fresh ingredients on a delicious crisp base. Service was friendly and prompt. Will definitely be back for more!

Service was good, no waiting at all. Arancino carne & chicken wing starters both good. Fillet of salmon was delicious and good portion.

Went in for 2 pizza and a carbonara to go, the place was not busy by any means. If I had realised that the 2 pizza boxes that sat for at least 10mins where for me I would not have accepted them. The pizza was cold And the carbonara well…. Cold for one and tasteless. I only live 5 mins away so not far. We’ve sat in before and was always good. Takeaway not so much. Very disappointed.

Regular customer, but now stopped. Service has become seriously slow. Food is below standard, got a raw burger served up once after a 45 min wait. Got a new burger 15mins later. 1 hour to be served lunch, what a joke!!! Childrens macaroni was lumpy and later we both felt sick. Def a no go for us.
