Tollington's in Islington

This used to be a very simple chippy, but it's now a Spanish-style fish bar serving great dishes such as Plaice and Aubergine. And fantastic chips! The food is very good and given the quality, it's no surprise there are queues outside every night. It's not comfortable inside - couples are sat on bar stools, larger groups sit on basic tables out the back. But overall, it's worth queueing for.

This a amazing for dinners or just a casual lunch has amazing choices and really suck you in to the world of Spanish cuisine 🇪🇸🌍

Visito aquí la mayoría de los lunes y realmente disfruto el pescado y las patatas fritas aquí. El dueño te sirve con una gran sonrisa amigable cada vez. De camino al restaurante, llamaré con 20 minutos de anticipación para pedir el codroe, que es un pastel de pescado, me encanta. La próxima vez que estés en la zona, pruébalo y no te arrepentirás.

He estado comiendo aquí una o dos veces al mes durante años. Algo que descubrí hace relativamente poco es que están felices de despellejar a los peces antes de cocinarlos. Esto me conviene ya que de lo contrario dedico tiempo a separar la piel. También tiene la ventaja de que su pescado siempre está recién cocinado. Porciones muy grandes, así que siempre pido una porción de chips para niños.

Server was rude and raised his voice after I apparently should have stated my order earlier and then got impatient when I asked for food to be taken away despite him not asking me initially. Decent quality of food but service ruined it.

Sweet cod. Tasty, crisp batter. Really fresh tasting. Will be back for more. Not too expensive for London either.

Decent fish and chips. Family run and although not the cheapest its good value for money. Not open on Sundays which is a shame.

Great fish and chips for London - good batter and not greasy. Best to go on busy nights as alwys feels fresher. Chips are good and portions are great. Family run and friendly especially the younger woman who is always friendly. Price right for quality of food.

I agree with the other comments about good quality fish and chips. They are half a dozen tables where you can eat in and BYO wine. I've done this on many occasions although I have never seen other bottles of wine. A good cheap night out!

Service may be a bit abrupt, but don't let that dissuade u. Fish is not too greasy, fresh and Good value. It's also reliably consistent
