The food was amazing honestly, it came out perfectly hot, i ordered the one bowl; ramen, bone broth and beef. The meat melted in my mouth which i didn’t really like but had a good taste overall, the broth was perfection, so pure. the noodles were thicker than expected but very good the service was wonderful and each staff had a smile on their face and was willing to help. the portions were quite large but you’re able to get tubs and boxes for left over foods :) highly recommend

Really nice place with suitable decor. Food is great and service very quick and prices are good, too. Please note 10% service charge is added to whole order value but still worth it. As a starter bbq ribs are really worth trying - for me that was enough on its own but if you fancy a meal sweet and sour chicken is great option. They even have real Chinese beer if you want to try.

Portions were massive and was seen to promptly, but the food was disappointing, lacking in flavour and some of the ingredients were massively different in temperature, burnt my tongue on the broccoli. Would recommend if you want a big meal, but you won't be getting a quality one.

What a little gem! The staff were very welcoming and accommodating four my sisters pram and the space we took (3 adults and 3 children). With a cozy atmosphere and nice welcome it was nice. We scoffed the food so quick I forgot to take pictures sorry. I had szcheuan chicken noodle dish, my girlfriend had the Crispy Lemon Chicken with rice, my sister had the Sweet Chilli Chicken, my nice has a special with egg noodles and alter just had plain noodles. Food was fast to come out, great portions very flavourful and just overall a really nice place. Will definitely be going back to try their Ramen dishes as they looked epic being served to another table. Highly recommend 👌

Vusy when i went with daughter and 2 grandchildren. Was seated upstairs outside toilet. Granddaughter qge 4 wanted to use toilet was absolutely filthy seen better toilets in festivals. Told server he did nothing Ordered food was abruptly told we have ran out of egg qnd vermicelli noodles and chicken and char sui what restaurant runs out 9f main dishes by 7.20pm Food arrived no dips with starters and half were cold told server he did nowt again. Main arrived qnd to be honest looked like sick on a plate thrown together and it was horrible. Told server again nothing done Felt had to pay as 2 women and alot of staff around told them my complaint but was looked at like i was stupid Would never eat at this diabolical place again food horrid and place was filthy should be inspected as i have seen nothing like this vile place

Told server nothing was done Ordered food was told half food was unbelievable who runs out of noodles , chicken and char sui by 7.20pm Food came it was diabolical half cold no dips with starters , daughter bit into a satay stick and it crunched like a crisp Server not interested yet again Will never eat there again was filthy and food horrible Complete waste of money told people waiting for a table to go elsewhere never again

wanted to give it a 1 I got the laksa noodles, didn't have a taste at all. It tasted like some kind of unseasoned broth. No idea what happened there. Noodles were mushy and overcooked. meat was bland mate got the house special. the rice was greasy and weird tasting, the chicken was okay but thats about it. never wrote a bad review in my life but i was so disappointed. waste of money only good thing to say is that they had pretty big portion sizes

Sure it is just about ok. However.....No atmosphere though, and very basic interior ( beyond requiring an upgrade) crockery & cutlery all outdated and food resembles regular chippy thought inflated prices. Keep your expectations in check !

In general the rice dishes were good but the ramen did not have an adequate cooking reduction

I ordered the one plate with Szechuan sauce udon noodles and tofu. The meal was amazing and the portions were huge.

Chicken teriyaki - unreal. The chicken is so tender and the batter is so crispy, the teriyaki sauce is the best I’ve ever had. Definitely recommend Tokyo to anyone

Hands down the best food in Liverpool. Salt and Pepper Balls make me feel like a juicy boy. Like back when I was but a child and momma would look me in the eyes and say "have a good day at school". Thank you Tokyo noodle Bar, don't change.

Really good food, worth the money

A lovely little eaterie near the burnt out church in Liverpool. Food was amazing along with the service. Will definitely be going back for the teriyaki chicken again.

No way Japanese ramen. Not a nice hot thick both. Not sure why broccoli was included, not a standard ingredient. Lack of actual noodles, no egg as ordered. Not sure what meat I actually just ate. Not even better than Wagamama’s and that’s an issue Remind me not to return.

Very busy canteen type Chinese on Berry street. Very good Ho Fun and seaweed kohowever the pork dumpling we had were not good. Just had a weird taste. I would definitely go back.

Don't know how many times I have been in here but the food is always amazing, and it's not even expensive!! Less than a tenner for a huge portion of great food. Never need to eat for the rest of the day afterwards. If I could give more stars I would.

The food was very bland and this was the same for all 3 people eating. We brought it up with the waitress and she told us to “get out” and made a show. Because I was very embarrassed, I paid for my meal even though I didn’t eat it all and I left feeling like I’d been robbed. This place used to be amazing, but this time not so much. I won’t be dining here again.

First of all, the staff are lovely and I always appreciate a place that lets you eat without coming over every five minutes! We got won ton noodle soup and ho fun beef - both were absolutely delicious and the portions were huge, with a great balance of meat/veggies to noodles. The dishes are all very well priced too. I'd recommend Tokyo Noodle Bar to anyone!

Very bad experience. The waitress was among the unfriendliest I have ever experienced. Overall the service was abysmal, the first starter (spring rolls which tasted like they had been baked in rancid fat) arrived together with the main dishes, the second one (edamame which were allright) 10 min after. The plates were thrown onto the table in a very disrespectful way. Also the mains were served at different points in time. To tie everything together the quality of the food was very bad as well, the miso soup tasted sour (it had a spoiled taste) the noodle dishes were drowned in sauce which did not taste very good. The “fresh seasonal vegetables” were neither fresh nor a lot (half a bok Choi for the Tokyo terriyaki, 2/3 pieces of mushy carrot and broccoli for the stir fry). The fried chicken and prawns tasted alright. Overall I would not recommend anyone going there as there are many way better food options just next to it. It was the first time I did not feel comfortable or welcome at a restaurant in Liverpool.

I have been a customer of tokyo for over 10 years. I popped in today on my own and decided to go for a Thai green curry which I’d never ordered from Tokyo before. When the plate of absolute slime was dropped on my table it jiggled like jelly and looked like the inside of a sheep. After tasting it it was a instant no. As it had all the wrong ingredients. No beans not even green in colour. Actually similar to a snot colour and texture to match. Anyway I asked if I could exchange it as it was not a Thai green curry what so ever to be told I’m wrong and I don’t know what a Thai curry is if I don’t think that the crap on my table is up to standard. Funnily enough this man doesn’t Kmow I’m a chef and know a bit more than he expected as he insulted my intelligence. Anyway was made to pay for the curry that I had one spoon full of and was in utter disbelief that I was charged but I suppose £15 is pretty cheap to never return considering how much I’ve spent there in the past. So thanks for the plate of slime and wish you all well and if I can say one last thing if you plan to come to this place do yourself a favour and don’t order any type of curry unless you want a plate of jelly

I came here today with my fiancé for lunch, the staff member that served us was friendly, the service was fast and the food was delicious.

After having Maggie's fus noodles all the time it was time for a change. Got the special udon in tom yum broth. The broth aka sauce was more like a monosodium glutamate dishwater smell and taste with hardly any discernable flavours and no spice so i won't be trying here again straight off the bat. Wanted a hearty broth. Spewed it up to get it out my body. Prawn toast one slice of bread with a thin layer of prawn paste Same as any other chippy and it cost a fiver ere. Bad value The little dumplings were ok dipped in vinegar. Salt and pepper chicken got the thumbs up from my son, but he eats any salt and pepper from any chippy and he never said this was special in any way. I have got a hot and sour soup to try as that is my goto . The soup was tasty but only a few nibblets of meat and one it two stands of carrot. Not enuff to make me go back. Will be back to Maggie fu from now on for some hearty spicy broth that fills you with goodness as this place is a whole lot of underwhelming .

Nice place to have lunch. Quick service and good food. Its a little bland for me but they have condements on the table to make the food to your liking. Price wise it is affordable

Oh man there is a loooooooot of room to improve. I had chicken noodles with chilli sauce but it tasted more like a much too sweet sauce with some noodles. Just terrible. :/

Great place! Great value for money and the ramen is spot on! Highly recommended to go and check this place out in Liverpool City centre. Stay away from the bigger brands and check out the more local places, they deserve the money and offer a much better variety! We recommend that you pick the meaty broth ramen with the mix of meat, the bowl was filled with all sorts of goodness! Thank you

The ramen was amazing, better than wagamamas! The servers were a bit tired or unhappy, not sure but not good at all which is a shame as the food is nice. Also they don't provide chopsticks or any spicy sauce, just sweet chilli and soy sauce. It seems like there's is lack of attention to detail, which is a shame.

Went for the noodle soup with bone broth and char sui, it was superb and excellent value. Staff were great, would highly recommend 👍

Absolutely terrible.amd definetely nothing Japanese about it. Miso is worse than instant. Barely edible. Won ton is the greasiest I have ever seen. Green tea was the best thing (cheap teabag). Service charge. I recommend to stay away from this.

All the food comes in really generous portions and it's very reasonably price. They make really wholesome and filling food that always leaves you satisfied. The one-bowl miso soup is one of my absolute favourite meals. There are vegan dishes available but there's not markings on the menu for what's vegan, only vegetarian. However, when I asked the staff were so kind and made a list for me of what was suitable. I would definitely still recommend this place to to other vegans but just be warned you'll have to ask what is and isn't suitable.

I haven't tried the ramen but I got the cho fun with laksa and chicken. With service charge it came to £9.68. I live in London so I think this is decent considering the generous portion size. Food not the best but service was super quick so it's a good place to go before catching a train from Liverpool Lime Street

30 May 2023 1730hrs. Service 10/10. Food 10/10. Starter- I had sweat/ sour soup- fresh - hot - lovely. Main sweat / sour chicken noodle - Fresh - hot - lovely. 1 meal enough for 2 people and they kindly boxed up to take home. Highly recommended. Second time ive eaten here. Thank you.

Food is great but the lady waitress is very rude. At first when I asked for recommendations (meat for ramen) she answered rudely that it if I want beef I eat beef if I want duck i eat duck blah blah...very rude reply.....then we haven't finished eating yet and she was already standing there taking the plates and all. Like why? I felt like she wants us to leave....very rude and uninviting I felt her service....the other man was kinder. Please treat all your customers with respect regardless of their colour or ethnicity.

Food was incredible, sweet and sour so crispy & and crispy chilli beef was ridiculous! Bottomless green tea, satay skewers. Ice cold asahi, very very good value! Absolute GEM!

Asian restaurant for white people. They use excessive cornstarch sauce to keep food "fresh". Just left the dishes as you see in the picture. Noodles were a laugh, what is that? Just headed somewhere else to have some real food.

They take long to take your order and the orange juice tasted like the ones bought in a store (not fresh). Other than that, the price is accessible given the medium quality of the food, but the service fee should not come in the bill. It should be the customer who decide whether to pay for it. If it is listed in the bill the customer might feel uncomfortable to deny to pay it (as was my case). I would go eat there again only if there weren't any other option. I ordered the seafood noodles and a portion of gyoza.

Favourite place to eat in Liverpool, and probably always will be. The service is so chill, friendly, fast and flawless. Food is always to standard across the entire menu. Today the char sui was so supple and easy to eat it was to die for.

Great Quality food with amazing value for money. Been coming here for around 10 years and it never fails to deliver. Even on the busiest days; my order has never taken longer than 10 minutes. I even ordered to collect and the portions are just as huge as they are when dine in. 5*

We both had karaage chicken curry and honestly it was nice however I dont think karaage chicken looked like this.. but i might be wrong 😅 It looked like katsu chicken curry but the flavour was different. We went during Chinese New year and it was crowded thus the service was a bit slow... Dish came with a small bowl of miso soup. The staff was nice and sweet though and the price is reasonable.

Portions are huge and delicious 😋 but it was Chinese new year so was crowded and service was okay, but not the best.

Great place. The size of the portions and the quality are amazing for the price you pay. I recommend the Tokio teriyaki. There are other good options too, all for a good price.

This is a great value restaurant. Quite small but is worth a visit for some quick food that is going to fill you up. Service is efficient and the food seems to take minutes to come out. Its not fancy and not a place for a date night but great if you are off for a night on the town or hungry after a day's shopping.

Ordered and paid online, drove to collect to be told the order has been cancelled because one item in my order wasn’t available. No telephone call to ask if I wanted a substitute to replace the unavailable item. Just cancelled it. Now got to wait for the bank to refund etc Ridiculous! Excuse was ‘we are busy and understaffed’, … well don’t take the order then!!! Cut off online orders!! Waste of my time.

Always visit this place and it never disappoints

I read the rave reviews and thought I'd give this a shot. I normally don't spend the time to write a review unless a place is amazingly good, or in this case, really poor. I ordered a Tom Yum soup and a Red Thai curry with boiled rice. The dish arrived in less than 5 mins, which a friend said was normal. To me, that was a bit of a red flag, but decided to try it. Possibly the chef had some left overs and thought he could pass them off?? Both dishes tasted the same. Veggies soft as if they'd been pulled from a pot on heat all lunch. (I went in around 2:30pm). Rice was clumped together beyond belief. I've eaten authentic Thai, but this was more like a school dinner. If you want Thai, then don't select that here. It would've been better not to offer it, if the chef can't make it. I even politely called them afterwards just to confirm that they had the original chef on today. In a nutshell, I live 10 mins away so I opted to take out, otherwise I wouldn't have paid for my meal. People rave about the portion size, but 2 'school canteen meals' do not equal one decent one I'm afraid.

Been here a few times - tonight the waitress who served us came to ask if we were ready to order 3 times within a few minutes, the 1st time literally two minutes after walking in. She snapped 'Still not decided' and made a gesture like she was frustrated at us taking a normal amount of time to order! Made me quite uncomfortable. Food was decent and has been the other times I've been here. Service charge says optional on the menu but is never optional.

Brilliant food and service if your in Liverpool check it out you won't be disappointed don't tell everyone though as it'll get to busy for me, its also reasonably priced.

Amazing food! The menu says service charge optional but they always charge me it without the option. They ask for money straight away and then leave with the bill still on the plate, almost as if the price is being kept hidden. I would have tipped regardless but why say optional then secretly charge me for tips? 🤔

Was pretty good food and had very large portions. I ordered a noodle bowl with spicy garlic sauce. I was hoping for / expecting more of a crispy noodles with some spicy garlic flavor but there was more sauce than expected.

This loverly restaurant serves such great food its in Liverpool before you get to China Town near thee old church.they don't rush you and their food is served to you straight from thee wok so it's pipping hot.i would defo recommend it if you are in Liverpool.

Went there with my kids before going to see Rumours of Fleetwood mac service was very quick and food was excellent not much to look at when you go in but we'll worth a visit would definitely go again next time I'm in Liverpool

Food are over deep fried and lost the original taste. Decoration seems Japanese but the taste of food is very far from Japanese. Using low quality rice. Price not match the quality.

Didn’t taste very good. We ordered 2 meals from the build your own dish. Chicken wasn’t the best quality and came out very fast. Service was good and the place was clean but not best food quality in my opinion.

I've been a regular customer for years and the food is normally great. Recently I placed my usual order over the phone. When I went to collect, rather than charging me the usual £15.60 the guy tried charging me over £18. When I queried this he said it was because I ordered by phone, rather than using their app. The app sometimes does not work properly so I prefer to order over the phone and have never been charged extra for this 'privelege'. I said this was unreasonable and he agreed to charge me £16.10 which is the app price including service charge and snapped "next time order on the app". A little tip regarding customer service: don't try and overcharge your loyal customers just because you have to pick the phone up, or they might just go elsewhere in future.

One of my favourite quick eats in Liverpool. Good selection of food and a lovely cosy atmosphere. Staff are attentive and friendly. Food comes out quickly but it’s piping hot and burns your mouth a little so wait a bit when it comes!

Entramos de casualidad buscando un restaurante japonés y fue todo un acierto: genial de precio; los platos super grandes y todo muy rico! Fuimos dos personas y no pudimos con todo...! El personal muy bien también: el camarero que nos atendió fue muy simpático y atento.

Stumbled upon this hidden gem in our first visit to Liverpool. I can't recommended it enough. Friendly and efficient staff, delicious food and good value as well! Everything I saw on other tables looked really nice as well so I can't wait to be back so we can try more dishes.
