Tokova in Wandsworth

One of my favourite restaurants in London. The staff are personable and despite being busy always make it a special place to visit. The menu delivers a high standard of Basque food. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

The restaurant is located inside an indoor bustling market, not exactly fancy. There were 8 of us, so we ordered everything on the menu. Every dish was outstanding, so flavorful...simply delicious. Reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

Amazing family led restaurant. Every dish was incredible and great wine recommendations. Highly recommend the black rice and the asparagus dishes.

Fantastic food served with passion! The flaming chorizo is great fun but all the dishes deliver. Some well chosen wines too. One of the more grown up restaurants in Broadway Market - Recommended!

Food served very slowly, waiter preoccupied elsewhere, food average at best, portion size woeful - 2 scallops, 2 prawns, 2 scrawny lamb chops all around £14. Very overpriced. £100 for 6 dishes including £12 for poor service. Disappointing

My partner and I went to Tokova for Valentines Day. We’d read really good reviews of this place and received recommendations from friends. We arrived as the first booking and when we were greeted, we were informed there was a set menu - this wasn’t advertised on the website. Unfortunately the service was incredibly slow, we waited nearly an hour to be served olives and one small starter plate between two of us (even though there weren’t any other customers yet). Despite good presentation of the food, it was either over cooked or under cooked, lacking flavour, and the portion sizes were too small for sharing. For example, we had a dish with duck and potatoes in which the duck was really over done and the potatoes were uncooked and hard. We also had octopus which was came out cold. It almost seemed as though they were missing a chef or kitchen staff. Obviously because we had a themed set menu, it’s hard to say whether our experience was skewed by this. We wouldn’t go here again and recommend more kitchen prep to be done by the staff. It’s fairly overpriced and not enough food to satisfy an appetite of two people costing a total of £70. After, we went to eat elsewhere as we were left so hungry.

Went here with a friend and it was a new experience. Really enjoyed the relaxed vibe, different menu and the hosting was relaxed, attentive and knowledgeable. Interesting dishes with a twist. We tried a few of the recommended dishes and were very impressed with the simplicity and yet the flavour and taste was awesome. White asparagus and the celereiac dish were awesome. The black rice was also very tasty. I'd come again in a heartbeat.

A great spot in tooting market! The owner explained each dish with such passion to us and made us super comfortable, we got a counter seat so could see our food being prepped. Food was incredible and expertly presented on the plate. Recommend the steak, scallops, and prawn/octopus dish. Definitely coming back!

Fantastic service and food. We arrived for our booking which we had messed up, but the owner made sure to fit us in a bit later. When it came time to eat she explained the menu, and clearly there is so much passion and thought in each of the dishes. A lot of variety. Everything was delicious and the service throughout was great and friendly. We will be back!

My first time in Broadway Market and at Tokova. Not sure quite what to expect from a venue inside a market and when we arrived to a very busy restaurant I was concerned there was no table and service would be slow. Could not have been more wrong. Although Christina and her daughter were super busy, they took time to explain the menu and chat more generally and we never felt neglected. Having the dishes explained with such passion makes selecting which to reject very difficult, but we settled on our six dishes and nibbles to start. Everything was stunning. Outstanding flavours and delivered in the perfect order. The excellent king prawn and octopus was probably the least interesting and maybe lacked the stunning flavours of other dishes but take nothing away from the food for this it was still very tasty. The menu and dinks list is quite small but that just means everything is done to perfection and this place really works well. We loved it and I'm sure you will too.

Good menu comprised of dishes typical of the Basque Country, or modern riffs on more traditional basque ingredients. Great service, Cristina was really personable, good atmosphere in the brilliant Broadway Market.
