The Little Taperia in Wandsworth

Brilliant little spot, food was lovely. Won't be the last time I visit.

I'm not a big fan of Spanish restaurants in London because the food never feels authentic. Little Taperia is a great exception, the most delicious Spanish food I've ever had in London. I ordered a potato tortilla and was asked if I wanted runny or well done, which was great to be asked, and it was so delicious. I also had croquetas, patatas bravas and arroz negro - this one is superb! Great flavours, great presentation, great service and I was even jealous of other people's orders. Really recommended!

Solid menu with some interesting bits too. We got there pretty late so a couple of the plates didn’t look that fresh (which is understandable), but everything tasted great. Nice table wear - the little blue rimmed white plates looked good. Cant fault the staff, they were really on point; actually one of our party wasn’t drinking so they brought us a thimble of desert wine one of them was a colourful non-alcoholic alternative. Nice touch.

Excellent time spent at the restaurant. Food as well as service were both really top tier.

Had a lovely meal here. The tapas dishes were delicious, although I thought the salt cod croquettes could have done with a little bit more salt cod, but that's my personal taste! The food was well cooked and plentiful - a particular favourite were the black pudding scotch eggs. The service was warm, attentive and helpful - we had the sauvignon blanc which was sweeter than we were used to as recommended and which, perfectly complimented our meal. We were both full so sadly, no room for desert but would have loved to have the tried the churros. The menu was very helpful to anyone with dietary requirements. We hope and look forward to, coming back.

One of the best Spanish restaurants I have been to in London (can see why it reviews so well)! Favourite dishes were the arroz negro and ox cheeks. I cannot recommend this place enough and will definitely be returning!

This place is just absolute perfection when it comes to Tapas. Wow.

Our lovely little neighbourhood go to.. my perfect order: ham croquettes, sourdough bread, fennel endive & orange salad, ribeye steak & Catalan spinach with raisins and pine nuts. Beautiful food, wine and atmosphere.

Had a wonderful tapas meal here that was so simple yet so delicious! Bread with crushed tomatoes and Iberian ham, shrimp with garlic and hot peppers, mini chorizo sausages made with red wine, and roasted peppers crusted with a bit of salt! Also can’t forget the sliced bread, toasted and served with salted olive oil. Unbelievably satisfying! Thank you LT!

Have visited little Taperia twice now and absolutely love it. Food is amazing and there’s ample choice. Our favourites are the steak and patatas bravas. On our most recent visit, our server Sophie was incredible. She was super friendly and the perfect level of attentiveness, providing us with everything we needed quickly and with a smile! Definitely recommend.

Overall, this was a distinctly average and rather disappointing experience, especially compared to the glowing reviews on here. A tortilla is a simple dish that nevertheless showcases the skill of tapas chefs - the best I have eaten were lightly set and rich in flavour. The tortilla here was dry and stodgy. Chicken skewers were also dry. The spinach and croquetas were tasty and pull this score up from 2 to 3. Churros were excellent but not all desserts on the menu were available. Paid £50 for 4 dishes and an appetiser of almonds - felt like a bit of a rip off.

I've had some very average tapas in my time and was pleasantly surprised at how delicious this was. A gem of a find!

We have come here a couple times and love this place, such a good menu, there are so many dishes we’ve enjoyed. It’s not too expensive at all and the drinks are fantastic. The service has always been on point and very attentive. We’ve also been given a complimentary shot at the end which is such a nice touch.

Service was really attentive and the staff knew the menu well so were able to give us scrumptious recommendations. We loved all the small plates! The food was fresh and full of unique flavours.

Great, if v noisy at times, atmosphere on Saturday night. Staff v attentive and food was great especially the salad which was so moreish. 2 small criticisms - £9.50 for a glass of wine was IMO a bit high and the salted cod didn’t taste of salt or cod. This is me being niggly. Everything else food wise was excellent. I’d definitely go back and recommend it.

Food and service were great. Unfortunately we were sat next to a table of 6 very loud, sweary women. It was often hard to hear each other speak. Not the restaurants fault.

I had an awesome evening with my two friends here on a Saturday night. The food is absolutely delicious - it really reminded me of happy days spent in Madrid before lockdowns. The waiter let us know when there were two bits to a dish rather than the three of us which was super helpful. Really loved it. Highly recommend!

Great little find, I cycle past each day and decided to book for dinner, it didn’t disappoint, great food, attentive and excellent service and great cocktails too. Will definitely be back!

Six of us, four adults and two teenagers, came in for a very late lunch and we couldn’t have found a better place to eat. The teenagers had filled up with chips earlier (bad mistake) so they weren’t particularly hungry but we all enjoyed everything we ate. It was excellent: the salt cod fritters and the wonderful spinach with pine nuts and raisins came in for special praise but there was nothing that we felt was less than delicious. I can’t comment on the vibe as we were the only people there (it was mid afternoon so probably not a popular time) but the setting was pleasant, as was the service. Two of us were visiting from outside London but would very happily come again. It was far better than our two local tapas restaurants, and we had always felt they were good. A great find.

Edit 30 June 2024 Went for a family birthday and could not be more impressed! Absolutely perfect service, with the right amount of attention and care. Fantastic food! Not all were to our liking but most were super especially the octopus and meatballs and salted fish cakes!! Love the aubergine bakes and the cheese selection! Very reasonable and would definitely go back!!! Amazing guys, thank you! *********************** Quaint and really good service, unfortunately food isn't great. Shame really, as I want to love it, and in the past it's had really good food, but it was distinctly average and lacking punch. The octopus was bland, so was the tortilla, scotch eggs. The prawns and chorizo was good. Might have been a one off, but please please please improve the food and use decent quality products. The tomatoes are very watery and lack taste on the tomato bread. Had such a good time this evening. Good was amazing, each tapas bit was lovely and perfect size for sharing. Was looked after by Alayna, and the other shirt wearing man! Such good service, could not ask for better- and treated me so well on my birthday! Thank you!

Excellent tapas bar with many vegetarian options, reasonably priced drinks, well crafted items, and friendly staff. Whilst the atmosphere is slightly claustrophobic, it is not unlike tapas bars in Spain itself, so no complaints there. All in all, Little Taperia is an awesome place!

Very good food, lovely people running the restaurant, and a comprehensive menu. Each plate is meant to be shared by 2 people, portions are generous so good value overall. Brunch menu available over the weekend (min 2 people taking it). Both seabass and presa iberica were a bit salty (in British terms, though; Mediterranean cuisine doesn't mind..)

One of the better Spanish restaurant. The price is also reasonable. Totally love every dish we have ordered. We were served by smiley and friendly staffs. We will definitely be coming back more often.

Our local Fri date-night spot when we get a babysitter. The presa iberica rivals most top quality beef steaks that I've had. All round great experience and you can tell that it's popular by how full it gets.

I rarely write a review but felt compelled to do so as a way of thanks. So please we found this little restaurant! The food was delicious, the service was exceptional - with the waitress offering advice, topping up water and our glasses throughout the evening. My daughter and I had a really special evening. One of our favourite restaurants and our go-to place for Spanish tapas. We keep going back and always have great food and service.

Unbelievable food. Delicious. The scotch eggs (black pudding and quail egg) were next level. A nice surprise, albeit left field for a tapas restaurant. As was the blue cheese salad (ie, a Waldorf). Potatas bravas didn’t disappoint, and the lamb cutlets were amazing. Friendly service. Food came out quick. And nice to support a local. Top marks all round.

Wonderful taperia - excellent seeing and food.

Little Taperia is always just what you want and need. It is an unassuming place to enjoy extremely well cooked, delicious food in a truly relaxed and unpretentious atmosphere. It is no wonder why it is often full of happy faces when you walk past!

I’ve just been to the restaurant for my brother’s birthday treat. On entering it felt like stepping into Spain, the cool vibe and the menu spoke volumes. If you have any dietary requirements, it’s mentioned beside the dish and the staff are very hospitable .

Consistently excellent food whenever I have visited. The boquerones and squid ink rice in particular are standouts. The morcilla scotch eggs and churros are also very good and worth tasting.

Amazing time at Little Taperia last night. Every dish we tried was delicious, especially reccomend the night’s special of Tuna Steak. Great drinks menu with a range of alcoholic and non alcoholic cocktails. Service was immaculate - we even got a free chocolate and shot with our bill for Valentine’s night! This is an absolutely outstanding venue for Tapas. Be sure to book a table in the front part of the restaurant though. If you don't there is a chance you will be seated in a conversion at the back which is does not have nearly the same cosy candlelit atmosphere as the main space.

Walk past this place a lot and it's always packed. Managed to get a table last minute and were really glad we did. Amazing menu of food, and great drinks selection. Found it to be very reasonably priced. Don't usually come away from tapas feeling so full!

Back to the scene of the crime and another outstanding meal at this hidden gem. All previous comments stand. There simply are not enough stars to rate this hidden gem of a restaurant! Relatively small and tucked away in Tooting, it offers a loud and lively venue with plenty of hustle and bustle alongside some great food and an endless supply of sangria. Be warned - you do have to book at least a couple of days in advance but believe me when I say that it's absolutely worth it!

This was quite simply one of the best meals I’ve had in years. I lived in Spain long ago but the tapas cooked up in this little gem of a restaurant eclipsed nearly everything I remember eating back then. The scotch eggs were frankly astoundingly tasty and the scallops were in the kind of sauce you can only dream of eating. The chairs and tables are a bit agricultural but frankly, I would sit on the floor to eat any food that kitchen might deign to prepare for me. Brilliant.

Amazing food. As a chef I can say it's been a pleasure to eat here. Iberico grilled to perfection, grilled pepper to accompany also tender and sweet as should be. Croquets is also an amazing choice. Crispy outside with creamy delicious inside, fried as should be (no oil stains on a plate dripping from food). Patatas bravas were perfectly crispy, sauce was a slight disappointment but all over very good dish. Cheese board worth its price, it's seen that meats are cut freshly, not just presliced, frozen, stocked for a week ahead like some other places do. Here it's done with care and respect towards ingredients. For dessert we had churros, and they were better than from places that apparently specialise in churros including the sauce that was delicate and not overwhelming the flavour of churro itself. Great experience. Will come back and bring other chef friends. <3

We chanced upon this tapas restaurant & spontaneously decided to eat lunch. Very attentive service, backed up with good tapas plates ( loved the spinach, sultana & pine nut combination ), at a reasonable price.

The place is enchanting. Food is top quality and all the dishes we tried had a great twist that differences them from the original Spanish recipes - which I completely agree with. It brings you a piece of home to Tooting. Also, loved the posters on the wall! Sevilla, Cádiz, Córdoba... really, really lovely. We'll come back! Recommendations: Croquetas de jamón and pinchos morunos. We wanted to try the morcilla scotch eggs but it couldn't be this time. We'll be back just to try them for sure!

Rude staff, rushed service, very disappointing experience. Unfortunately I came here for my boyfriend’s birthday and was met with rude staff who rushed us out after 1 hour 30 mins, even though we waited a long time to be served. Wasked if we could swap to a nicer table but excuses were made as to why we couldn’t. We were so full and couldn’t eat a dessert so I asked if there was anything they could do for a birthday celebration - a cocktail or something sweet that was small - but they said no, we have to order a whole dessert. Wouldn’t come here if you want a special experience.
