Toffee Nosed Cake Company in Wolverhampton

AWFUL! ABSOLUTELY AWFUL BUSINESS! The owner of this company called “Dee” provided us with our wedding cake. It was SO expensive. She turned up an in HOUR late to our wedding! When the cake eventually arrived, it was SLANTED! We then asked for a small compensation for all that happened. She agreed a partial refund. Three months later and she still hasn’t provided us with a partial refund even having messaged us to say she will send a refund to us. Shocking business! ABSOLUTELY AWFUL! Causing unnecessary stress on our wedding day.

Awful lady and awful business. She absolutely ruined my wedding day turning up an hour late which ruined our schedule for the day and caused unnecessary stress. To add to this, the cake was melting and lopsided. She ignored my messages and calls after the wedding to discuss this, my husband finally got through to her, she admitted fault and promised a partial refund and three months later we have not been compensated, she just makes excuses. It's absolutely appalling and I'm left shocked and saddened that someone could firstly provide such poor customer service on someone's wedding day and then not even follow through on a resolution.

32 minutes ago NEW If I could give 0 stars I would, but seeing as 1 is the lowest it will have to do. This lady has caused nothing but upset and stress for my family. She was booked and paid on time to provide a cake for my brothers wedding, however on the day turned up over an hour late, with a cake which was literally slanted. It was noticed by everyone how the cake was tilted to one side, she ruined the schedule for the DJ, who just before she decided to turn up, advised not to even bother with the cake anymore as it had already pushed the day back too much. Taste wise, it was mediocre, no one commented on it saying it was nice, just how it was slanted (what a lovely memory for someone’s wedding day). After the wedding she was contacted on multiple occasions by my sister in law and was literally ignored , she only replied once my brother messaged off his own page. She then agreed to a refund of £100, this has then had to be chased up with her. On two occasions she advised the refund was going to be sent, only for it not to be sent and again had to be chased up. Now that we have explained to her we will contact trading standards, she has taken it as a ‘threat’, as a business owner she should understand that customers have the right to use that service, which is provided for customers who don’t receive the service they have paid for and is not a threat at all. I mean you only have to look at previous reviews to see how awful the company and its products are. Please do yourself a favour, save the upset and stress, do not use this company. The owners attitude is also shocking for someone who should have a good level of customer service, maybe she needs some training to learn how to deal with customers appropriately.

I ordered a bespoke salted caramel with butter cream cake for my wife's 30th birthday (in 2021) and needed it to serve 40 people. On the day when ordering everything it was fine and was told it would be done the day before the party. After chasing her on teh day of delivery to get an ETA, I was told that the cake would be done the next day ( day of the party!) and they would deliver it.. but here's the kicker.. she got the cake sizes mixed up with another order!. i had a salted caramel cake which served 15 people instead of 40! and she make up the numbers with 3 boxes of cup cakes which were not salted caramel which is not what i paid for. The guy who delivered the cakes, wasn't helpful at all. they only knocked £10 off the order and didn't really seemed bothered by it. i didn't know what to say to the guests as majority of them wanted the salted caramel cake, so some ended up sharing. Absolute nightmare of a baker. I would avoid if you want something special to avoid disappointment!

Ordered twice in last few weeks. Extremely delicious cakes and sandwiches. Very accomadating, understanding and actually caring about relative who was due to have afternoon tea but had to be changed to new date. Would whole heartedly recommend 100 %. Owner very friendly and helpful.

Had a fabulous Mother’s Day afternoon tea from here organised by my sons. Sandwiches very fresh and assortment of cakes was superb. Will visit when we can eat inside.

Had Afternoon Tea delivered to my house as a surprise Birthday treat from my Daughters. Wow what a treat it was! Everything not only looked beautiful but tasted divine! Definitely would use this company again.

I had my birthday afternoon tea here on Saturday. It was the first time most of us had tried the afternoon tea at Toffee Nosed Cake Company and we were very impressed! We were a party of 8. Dennice and her husband were very friendly, they made us feel very welcome and the atmosphere was very relaxed. Some of us had specific dietary requirements and drinks preferences did vary, however Dennice and her husband ensured we were all fully catered for and they couldn’t have done enough for us. We were encouraged to ask for drink refills as and when required. So now for the most important part, the food!!! The scones, sandwiches and cakes were presented beautifully on three tier stands. The scones were freshly baked and the texture was so light. They were served warm with jam and fresh clotted cream. There were a range of lovely sandwiches with a variety of fillings, served using two different types of fresh soft bread. We were all given the option of selecting a cupcake of our choice which was served along with victoria sponge cakes, ginger cakes, macaroons and meringue desserts. All the cakes tasted amazing!!!! I would highly recommend the traditional afternoon tea here and would definitely go back again! I would also recommend the birthday cakes as my husband ordered one for me and it was delicious 😋
