The front of house staff were polite and helpful. Unfortunately, the organisation of the restaurant left a lot to be desired. Their website made a big deal about the 3 pizza bases. Regrettably, only one was available, (Gluten free, with a surcharge of £2.50). They were going to charge us the extra £2.50, until I pointed out that we were given no choice! Items on the menu were missing, or there was hardly any of them, when the food was served! Cold plates, tepid Peroni beer etc. The food was edible, but very disappointing.

We came to eat last week on a Friday night and we only figured we'd stay for an hour or so - well we ended up staying for 4 hours! The food was mouth-watering, my son devoured his pizza in 3 minutes! We all decided to get a mixture of starters, the bruschetta was my favourite. Perfectly crunchy and tasty. I ended up getting pasta as I wasn't in the mood for pizza, and I asked for a recommendation and the waitress told me their seafood pasta was great so I got that! I wish I remembered the name of the dish because it was so amazing. I lived in Italy for 2 years so it was nice to be brought back to the cuisine of true Italian food (which is so rare to find nowadays - I am not interested in these English-made Italian restaurants we see sprouting up and around country). My son has never visited Italy so when I got to tell him this is real Italian food, he told me he loved it and wanted to come back for his birthday. We will definitely be booking a table for his 12th birthday and I'm so glad to have my new favourite Italian restaurant in Bournemouth! So close to the beach as well, I'm sure in the summer it would be lovely to go for a walk along the seafront after eating. The only downfall I would say is that some drinks took a while to arrive but I guess they come from the bar which is different to the restaurant I'm told. But either way a really nice night with my family. Just want to say a huge thank you to the lady Naheed for making my son so happy, and for teaching him some Italian too!

When we arrived it was several minutes of staff looking at us and ignoring us before someone came over to show us to our table. The staff were all very polite but the service was very poor. When we ordered our drinks we also asked for some tap water, the drinks arrived ok, we ended up having to ask four times for the tap water, each time being told I will bring it straight over. We ordered our food ok after a short while. My starter was Bruschetta which was very bland, plenty of it, 3 slices of toast with lots of small tomatoes cut in half but little taste. I had a chicken, mushroom and onion pizza for main on a gluten free base. When it arrived you could see that the onions and mushrooms were barely cooked, tried it and indeed they were almost raw and luke warm. At this point a barman arrived with my glass of wine so I told him about the Pizza and he shrugged and said you will have to talk to the restaurant and walked off. I eventually got the attention of a waitress who came over, when I told her she said I will have to get the manager. She came over and I told her, she apologised and said that they would make a fresh one. Not much more than a minute later the same pizza was redelivered to me and the waitress walked off before I could say anything. I then went through the same rigmarole again of speaking to waitress who has to get the manager. This time they did make a fresh one but it was not much better, we were going to see a show so there was no time to keep going on with this, I ate what I could of a very undercooked, bland, warm pizza, my husband had the vegetarian pizza on a gluten free base, his was also bland and only warm. At no point did anyone come to check if my pizza was ok, and there was no offer of recompense when it came to paying. We have cancelled our next booking here and shall not be returning.

The pizzas were lovely but maybe service wise we went on the wrong day! We pre ordered, had our starters and about 45 mins afterwards we dared to ask when our pizzas would be coming. We were offered one drink when we sat down but no more. This was the wrong thing to ask. The lady manager threatened to call security. After a few conversation, we were then told the other table were first and ours would be another 20 mins. After 20 mins she checked we still wanted them, ofcourse we did, we were starving. 1.5 hours we got our pizzas. we sat down at 7.15, all pre orered the week before, we started eating our pizza at 9pm. We stay in the hotel each year but will try another restaurant next time. I think they priority was being given to takeaway pizzas as they seemed busy making the pizza but not many pizzas actually going to any tables. I'd give higher score for the food but the appalling attitude of the manager let it down.

I visited on Saturday evening on our arrival day on holiday. After an age of trying to find somewhere to eat we tried our chances here. Even though we hadn’t booked , and there were 6 of us, we were able to be squeezed in. Even with a short time window of an hour before our table was needed I did t feel like we were being rushed at all. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, and the food!!!! I’ve eaten pizza all over the world and until yesterday NYC had my number one pizza! I ordered an inferno with extra olives and it was amazing! Beautiful base, thin and crispy but not to crispy. The toppings were first class. The general atmosphere was fantastic. I have family who live locally and I’ve recommend them visit as I was so impressed. Well done guys and it’s a shame it’s a long way to visit from Birmingham to enjoy another one of your pizzas!!

This is our second visit to tocco, and again we weren't let down. I had the charcoal pizza base and I loved it! The base was very light and I prefer it the usual base. My parents had the pasta, and the flavours were fresh and tasty. The cannolo for dessert was out of this world, took me straight back to sicily! Staff are so friendly and smiley. The manager remembered me from our last visit, which I thought was nice, signs of a good manager.

Waiting ages to get seated, staff were really lovely, but my drinks never came and I had to leave my seat whilst eating to ask for my drink. The 2 young girls serving were so lovely. All in all, great place, great food, just a shame I had nearly finished my pizza before my drink arrived.

The location, the vibe, the staff and the price were all exceptional. But the two pizzas we had were very bland. The ham and mushroom was very bland and the pepperoni was only tasty if you got a small piece of pepperoni. We have travelled extensively in Italy, and I even an Italian Margarita has much more flavour that the two pizzas au had here. The starters and the desert were amazing though. Use better ingredients that cheap ham and mushrooms

Both the service and food are exceptional, they absolutely cannot do enough for you. It's a family run business and both the surroundings and the food are authentic. One of the very best Italian restaurants we have visited and we have visited a few!

I have just had Pollo Pizza (with chargrilled chicken, mushrooms & onions). Pizza came warm & topping was cold. I paid upfront for pizza £ 13. I had an impression that the chef just put the ready topping to the cooked base like its done in sandwiches but the topping was not cooked in the oven or was not in enough (if was at all). So the veg & chicken were cold, onion & mushrooms still fresh, clearly not melted within the base. I have eaten as it was late & I was very hungry. I decided to complain after I have eaten so that the next time they improved their sevice & cook topping properly. My complain was not accepted by the lady manager who said that I should give pizza back after one bite. I challenge her saying that the topping should be cooked properly & should not be cold & fresh & its a worst pizza I have eaten. Its true. I had my pizza in Italy & I can compare. Even Whetherspoons pub pizza is tastier as its cooked properly. I just wanted an acknowledgement but the manager was dismissive & rude. I will not go there again. The bar for drinks is ok, but I will not order from the restaurant again.

We ate at the Tocco whilst on holiday in Bournemouth and we enjoyed it so much that we booked again for another meal later that week.On both occasions we had pizza which was cooked to order and was delicious.The service was great too.The restaurant is a new venture and deserves to succeed.

As we were staying at the Royal Exeter, we thought we would try the pizza while we here, I must admit the Charcoal dough on the pizza was exceptional, the starters were also very nice, would highly recommend this place.

We were a party of 10 and it was brilliant. They made us so welcome and we had Cicchetti (Tapas). An endless supply of amazing dishes plus a lemoncello desert. Also delicious cocktails:) Nothing was too much trouble and very reasonably priced. Would definitely return.
