Upon entering we were told to enter our number plate to which we said we took a taxi (we were going to drink) She scoffed at us and said to the other member of staff โ€œchallenge 25โ€ None of us look remotely 25 so took no ID, to which we couldnโ€™t be served alcohol. This was a rare event seeing family that live far away and it put a real damper on things. Rest of the staff were lovely but that one overweight old lady at the front desk was so rude and condescending I couldnโ€™t believe it. I wonโ€™t be returning

Visited last night . We booked a table which was just as well as it was extremely busy . All ok , you know what youโ€™re getting at Toby carvery - cannot believe how much people pack onto their plates though !! Desserts good. Staff efficient and friendly.

My self and two friends go to The Wolviston Toby every week now .it gives us the opportunity to keep in touch with each other we have never had a bad meal yet . So obviously we keep returning And always made to feel welcome by all the carvery and floor staff .There is many other restaurants in the area but we chose Wolviston Carvery Also because very good value for money.

Just had the carvery from here and what a great experience. Food was superb, hot, tasty and loads of it. Myself, my daughter and two granddaughters (9 and 8) all agreed we had thoroughly enjoyed what we had. I had gammon and it was fantastic, kids had the beef and I sampled it and it was the best I have tasted for years, great range of well cooked and seasoned veg with superb gravy and good range of condiments. Staff were friendly helpful and very cheerful even though they were a bit stretched. Recommend here for anyone who wants value for money and lots of tasty great food. Excellent balance of quality and service which makes the experience so much better.

We visited in the evening March 8th. I am in a wheelchair. The staff were very helpful. They found us a table where my wheelchair did not cause anyone else a problem. When we went up for our carvery one of the girls carried my meal to our table.

Met my dear friend for lunch and enjoyed my 57 minutes there, BUT I was amazed to get a ยฃ100 PARKING FEE!!!!!! how very rude! I never even thought that i would have to pay for parking at a services! I must have missed any notices that I needed to register my car, there were many people standing outside the restaurant, I did not see a thing! the staff should inform you of the charges when served. Euro car parks this is outrageous!! I will NOT be going there again and I think I will refuse to pay the ridiculous charges!!! Most services you have to pay if you are there longer than 2 hours. A ยฃ100 for a 57 minute ยฃ10 lunch is just totally scandalous!! sort it out TOBY CARVERY!

Fast service, great people and food beyond the usual standard. The roast lamb was excellent, said my wife, I had the roast pork and turkey, both excellent. Veggies were great, but the creamed leeks could have done with a bit longer on the cooker. Overall, wouldn't hesitate to go again

My partner booked a table for 3 people and the time stated 1:40pm, we turned up with an extra family member which shouldn't of been an issue to add an extra chair to our seating area, I have to say the member of staff at the desk was highly rude and unprofessional how she spoke to my partner, she told him he would of had to cancel our booking for 1:40pm and rebook and that we would now have to wait 30 minutes to a hour couldn't even give us a waiting time so we declined, we won't be going back to this Toby cavery, get better staff who know how to talk to the customers with respect, lucky for us we know some other lovely cavery place rating this at 1* wouldn't even give this place a 1,absolutely shocking service,Avoid!

This is to do with the packaging they use for deliveries (and presumably collections too). The food itself is lovely. A couple of weeks ago, I ordered two carverys - one meat with regular gravy, and one vegetarian carvary with vegetarian gravy. Unfortunately, the gravy pots were not labeled so it was impossible to tell which one was vegetarian and which one wasn't - so the vegetarian could not have gravy on his food. I complained to Uber Eats, expecting a partial refund on the vegetarian meal, but they fully refunded both meals, probably because dietary requirements are actually quite serious. We ordered again this evening. Unfortunately, again, the gravy was not labelled. I don't know if the message wasn't passed on, but common sense suggests that if you offer vegetarian gravy then maybe there should be a way of distinguishing this. Please fix this because the food is lovely, and we want to be able to order again.

Went for breakfast and witnessed a very rude customer berating one of the staff because he hadn't downloaded an app to get a discount for his grandchildren to eat for ยฃ1. He was very rude and quite nasty to the lady behind the bar. She kept her cool and advised how to get the app for the discount. He moaned again at her because his network signal was poor, she offered him the WiFi details. He stood in line behind me moaning he was disabled and should get preferential treatment. His wife advised him she had already got his food and put it on the table, his reply was nasty saying we'll I might not want what you've put on the plate. He then kicked off because the waitress seating customers told him she was busy and couldn't get him some water at that very minute. Never seen anything like it. Well done to all the staff working because if I'm honest I would have told him to leave if he was that unhappy. He needs to learn some manners what a horrible man!! Food was lovely, staff are great. ๐Ÿ‘

Really disappointed and disgusted with a staff member today. I work as a member of staff for a college which caters towards children with learning difficulties. Myself, two colleagues and two students were on a College sanctioned outing, where we decided to stop at Greg's for some refreshments . Once seated inside, having already purchased our drinks, one of the students requested a cookie but the queue was already quite long. To avoid the student having a meltdown in the middle of the store, I went up to the staff member at the till and tried to explain the situation, asking if I could quickly pay for a cookie. The member of staff (who I later found out was the manager), told me "you have to queue up" in a rather rude tone. I tried to apologise and explain the unique situation, however I was blatantly ignored. The lady who was being served at the time offered to purchase the cookie for the student (a very kind act i must emphasise), however the manager told her no and wouldn't accept the money. I went back to the student to try and explain that we'd have to wait to get the cookie, but the student was getting distressed, so I ended up going back to the till, and a younger staff member saw me waiting and offered to serve me. I am very grateful to this staff member, however disappointed in the manager. More than anything, her lack of acknowledgement or proper communication with me was the most disappointing. I understand that it was a delicate situation as there was a queue, however, the customers in the queue were fine with me going ahead of them as they could see the child was getting distressed, therefore the way the member of staff handled it was disappointing and completely inappropriate, specifically in the way she completely failed to acknowledge me as a customer, and out of spite, rejected another customers offer to pay for the cookie.

The most expensive cafe in the uk she makes her own prices up she was always expensive but she's got that bad she put a little sign up near the samosas trying to justify it swear to god if u order a few of her mangy chicken sandwiches u could go to Miller and Carter watch how greedy she is with everything she puts on aswell one portion two portion she makes her price up buying a sandwich is like buying a BMW with the extras she charges you for on it half cheese full cheese me and me partner couldn't believe that one you need a credit rating of over 850 to walk in her door

Order food a table of 6 3 people were served finished meal that was ok, over 1 hour wait for rest. NO apology no Communication. Very Poor quality when what did arrive. Disappointing such a fab location and out door area. In answer to your reply to my review. maybe act on your reviews - employ a chef and teach your staff some customer service skills. acknowledgement or apology goes a long way leaving half a table with out food or communication it good! reading your reviews two weeks earlier the food standard was poor for Motherโ€™s Day & still poor.
