Toby Carvery Captain Manby in Great Yarmouth

We are regulars! Most staff know us by now and we always enjoy our visits! We recently went with friends and it was amazing as always - topped off by great customer service from Bruce! He was really chirpy and friendly and made a great meal even more enjoyable

Always love a Toby Carvery! It’s great value for money and a nice spot for a meal out with friends. We had Bruce as our waiter tonight and he was so friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back!

Perfect meal out for the family our waitress Kelly was brilliant with making sure all of our food was spot on and getting extra cutlery for the kids very helpful and made our visit very welcoming

Came for a quick lunch before leaving for holiday. To be honest I never expect much from a Toby carvery as some who has been in hospitality for years understands that with such a high turnover it’s difficult to keep to the top standards people demand. Especially at the low prices Toby have. Here I was so impressed with the food however the service was incredible. Our waitress Kelly was attentive and engaging not once taking the smile off her face. This is so rare these days I’ve eaten in to many places especially chains where the staff feel burden that your there. Thank you for such a great experaince.

A bottle of diet coke and a j2o apple and mango £7.35 What a rip off. Didn't bother staying for the carvery. I certainly won't be going back there again.

Absolutely shocking food and service. We had a table booked at 8pm on a Saturday night, staff were already sorting everything out to shut down the place. Took them forever to come take our orders, we didn’t want carvery but our other choices were unavailable. Not even an apology. We had to get a carvery then. Meat was hard, gammon way too salty and selection of vegetables really poor, tired and lukewarm. We wanted to order desserts but took them ages to come ask us if we wanted anything else. Kitchen was closing so when we asked we were told ‘need to check’ then came back to say fine, so we got two slices of cakes. Took FOREVER to come, another 20 mins. Bill came up at an extortionate price, almost £90 for 4 carveries, 2 slices of cake and 1 mac&cheese (from the awful vegetable selection, not even cooked fresh). Utterly unacceptable! Please avoid, you can definitely make a better use of your money! Never again, Toby has gone down in quality SO MUCH!

The restaurant is kept tidy and well presented and the food is the usual Toby Carvery standard. They had a team of new Carvers/Servers so service was probably a bit slower than usual but I accepted the situation and it didn’t bother me. But where our visit was different was the service received from Ash. It’s a strange thing eating in restaurants, you don’t know what good service is until you receive it and I would argue we received it to its fullest tonight. Ash was just a pleasant, friendly, helpful and just a down right decent guy and made our visit all the very much better!

We were greeted and served by a lovely friendly lady called Kelly. The carvery lunch was delicious. Will definitely return.

Evening roast for nine friends on a Friday all having the carvery except for one veggie option. Good service and food quality is a consistent factor of this Toby. Special shout out to our server Jason for the care, attention and general humour shown to all our table. Tip top

Food was really poor, meat was edible but Yorkshire pudding was like rock,mash potato had many raw lumps ,carrots were raw & gravy very thick. We regularly use Toby Cavery Wolviston in Stockton On Tees which is always good quality so thought we would try while we were away but left dissatisfied.

Great atmosphere and lovely friendly staff kept clean and tidy and food was amazing We had a member of staff named George serving us he was friendly and very prompt with cleaning plates away making sure we had everything we needed ect

Booked a table for 6pm. Queued for half an hour to be told there was no meat left. Appalling service. No information. No apology. Won't be back

the service was good however potatoes were uncooked in the middle and cold, the carrots were rock solid so didnt eat any of them, mac and cheese and yorkshire’s also cold the meat was nice

Shocking service waited 40 minutes after booking a table and the food still wasn’t out so we left along with lots of other people who were fed up of waiting

Disapointing, draughty due to the door constantly opening and closing, no lamb unless you wanted to re-queue and wait, roast potatos overdone but still luke warm, gravy thin and tasteless, the whole meal was bland and luke warm at best, not helped by the plates being stone cold, terrible for a large chain with a good amount of staff for the quality we got this was overpriced, will not be returning and should have gone that little further to the Castle in Caister.

We arrived and thankfully we had booked a table. You can tell if a place is great buy the amount of people there. I have never seen a Toby carvery so busy. It took us 40 mins from arrival until we actually got a plate with turkey and a giant Yorkshire on it. But oh my word… the food was amazing! Thank you to all the team there. Absolutely super marvellous.

The experience did not start well when we were told that as we had arrived 20 minutes late our reservation had been cancelled. Toby carvery need to realise that if people have travelled a long distance to reach their restaurant they cannot be precise within 10 minutes of their likely arrival due to traffic conditions. This policy needs to be changed to allow a lot more leeway. The restaurant was busy and after some delay we were found a table. We had quite a long wait for the carvey, due to supplies of both meat and vegetables having run out. The carvery itself was of the usual good standard. We then ordered our desserts, but after 45 minutes they still had not arriced. Every time we asked the waitress they were "being prepared". In the end I gave her an ultimatum that if the food did not appear within five minutes we would walk out. The desserts immediatly appeared. Tghis restaurant is chaotic amd badly organised - not the place to visit for a relaxed meal.

We rocked up on a Tuesday evening for a carvery and was very politely greeted by the manger (extremely polite and a very family friendly guy), we were seated in the section of Kelly. She was outstanding!!! Can we just say we couldn't have asked for more she was amazing! She made sure everything was safe with our menu choices as our daughter has a dairy allergy. Kelly was very helpful and informative, and super efficient! She spoke to the kitchen to ensure our food was not contaminated in anyway and they were extremely safe for us. We really enjoyed our evening meal! Thank you to everyone! We had no issues with our food and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Including trying to win us a monkey. Over and above! Thank you.

The waitress who greeted us was really friendly and welcoming, we had a Groupon for 2 course each. I had the garlic bread with cheese for a starter, followed by the carvery, my wife had the carvery and a honeycomb Sunday. The garlic bread was lush, the carvery was ok, however the beef, pork and turkey were overcooked, the gammon melted in the mouth and was amazing. The Sunday was delightful!

Came here whilest staying at hopton haven. Staff were great, got us in earlier than our scheduled time. The man who served us was funny and nice. Reasonable prices. 5 meats available, really tasty. Didn’t think I would come back to Toby after past experiences, but this was really good and has changed my mind!!
