Tobermory Handmade Chocolate in Argyll & Bute

Ignored by staff. Was interested in picking my own assortment, but ended up with pre bagged. Small pieces, but perhaps that is better. Larger would be too much. No where near the Belgium quality. Nice local shop, so happy to support. Not sure if it's worth returning. Supermarket sweets are better.

My kids loved this shop and are delighted with their chcolates thanks. The service was friendly and helpful too.

Visited twice so far (we’re on day 4 of our week) and both times were lovely. The first day we sampled the ice cream and chocolates (wow!), and the second we had some coffees that were lovely. Nice venue in a great location, very friendly and helpful service and a nice selection of gifts to browse too.

Expensive chocolate and overrated. Coffee was poor and bitter tasting and unfortunately the young lady does not know how to make a cappuccino.

We just had chocolates from the counter. The chocolates are amazing but the big issue is cross contamination for people with allergies. The same tongs are used for all chocolates.

We got a £23 box all dark chocolate own choices, Everyone was truly delicious . Well done for producing such a fine seection. Will never go to Hotel Chocolat again.

It was our first stop on a day trip from mull. Hard not to go mad here and fill quite an expensive bag by the time you have said 1 of those, no give me 2 several times from the array of single chocolates. Lots of pre packed stuff as well make good gifts.

The chocolates are incredible and worth every penny! Huge selection as well so something to suit everyone. Lots of pretty gifts aswell

We couldn’t resist a quick visit on our recent trip to mull. There was lots of variety and unusual shaped chocolates to choose from along with gift ideas in store. After a few laps round the shop we decided on the milk chocolate covered marshmallows on a stick which was topped with grated white chocolate. Definitely a must if visiting Tobermory and we will be returning on our next trip.

The displays were extensive and so much to choose from. I eventually found a wee gift for my friend with lovely chocolates inside. The tin will be handy too.

Really delicious chocolates but about as pricey as you'd expect for a seafront chocolatier! Worth the spend for a small treat

Popped in trying not to buy a lot... wish I’d bought more! It was delicious, unique and they have all sorts of different things, from fancy to fun stuff (chocolate fish and shells) for kids

Went I. Here with the sole purpose of buying chocolates for us and friends, excellent range and choice,fairly priced and very pretty sweets and chocolates

awful as someone with disabilities was treated appallingly owner so removed from reality I think sh tough she was Willy Wonka

Myself and my daughter visited the shop whilst on holiday to purchase a selection of hand made chocolates as a surprise present. There was a lot of chocolate choice however we found them to be quite samey ie: lots of salted caramel & plain flavours. Nothing that left out and grabbed you like Lime or Orange etc (personal choice).We bought a small selection bag at about £8, they were ok but we all found them quite disappointing which is a real shame. We’ve had better handmade chocolates elsewhere.

Nice chocolates but very pricey. Quality was good but I have had better hand made chocolates elsewhere for less money.

I'm not a big chocolate fan (my wife is), but when you enter this shop the aroma that hits you is delightful. The chocolates on show are like a work of art....so we just had to try a few!They were delicious - to the point where my wife stated that they were as good, if not BETTER, than she had tasted in a recent trip to Belgium (and a lot less expensive)!

Came here on a cold day and had the most delicious hot chocolate drinks. Cream and marshmallow add to the naughty but nice aspect. Lovely views over Tobermory Bay.

Had coffee cakes and hot chocolate on a cold winters morning. Cafe clean and comfortable. Service was very friendly and shop looked nice. Didn’t taste any of the home made chocolates but they all looked appealing.

Called in for a coffee. Pleasant staff, nice coffee and a lovely smell of chocolate. Lots to look at in shop area and even took some gifts home of chocolate.

We visited this place to have a refreshing coffee, but it ended up being so much more than I expected. There was a large selection of refreshments available and all were of a high standard. However, these were eclipsed by the delicious selection of chocolates and treats that accompanied.

....or in this case got chocolate made with their own dark chocolate. Could have done with a few more marshmallows but still a must visit for a wee chill time.

Went during a day trip from Oban. Are in the cafe which was wonderful and also bought chocolate from the shop. The ones I bought for myself were excellent. I especially loved their Tobermory tin both when full of chocolate and empty, which they kindly, and very promptly, sent me another of for a friend the following week.

Nice shop full of chocolate treats, great for buying little presents for those back home. Bit pricey but who cares! it's chocolate!

Lovely little cafe with nice coffee and hot chocolate, cakes were good too. They make there own chocolate on site and I can confirm that it is delicious.

I realise that all their chocolates are hand made and therefore more expensive but I do think tourist are being taken advatage of. It was too expensive to buy anything so we just had a walk around and left

The shop sells the most delicious looking chocolates, which are hand made. There is also a cafe which is very popular, selling drinks and snacks

we went in here from a hot chocolate which was not the hottest and a little weak. the coffee was fine and the cakes ok if not a little sweet.

Thought a chocolate shop would serve fairly luxurious hot chocolate drinks. Had one here the other day and it felt every more watery than a Cadbury's milk choc drink, not what you would expect from such an establishment. I would expect a fairly thick chocolate drink , sadly it was tasteless. It was exchanged for a standard tea, and the cakes were delicious, but with a bad weather day outside it was a thick hot chocolate drink we wanted and this wasn't delivered.

Having arrived on Mull with little dog friendly cafe info available we found this cafe with a sofa at the entrance. Sheltering from the rain we had a welcome coffee and lovely cakes. We ended up doing some shopping for gifts

Delicious and beautiful chocolates! We wanted a little something sweet after our lunch and this was perfect! We ended up going overboard and took some to go back to our AirBnB!

The chocolates here are hand made artisan chocolates and are comparable in price for a product of this quality. If you like toffee the chewy caramels are superb and the champagne truffles are excellent. Good tea and coffee too.

I’ll happy pay for good chocolate but we found the products in this shop very average and way overpriced for what they are. It does a roaring trade though so clearly not everyone agrees.

Visiting this place briefly but there was quite a long queue at lunch to get a coffee so decided just to look at the shop instead.

This place is simply Devine, and some of the best made chocolates I’ve tasted. The staff were friendly, and the pricing was on point.

A good sized shop, particularly for such a small village. They had an excellent selection of chocolates and other sweets, many choices being great for gifts. My favorite was the truffle, a little piece of heaven!

Everything seems to me to be overpriced and entirely average. Had an unfriendly experience with one of the staff members. No atmosphere, and just not very welcoming. It doesn't feel like they care about providing a positive experience.

Visited every time I was in Tobermory for the lovely pot of tea, fantastic cakes, as well as the lovely jewellery and storage tins- very unusual and beautiful. Caved in for the violet and rose creams which can't be beaten!

This is a lovely café with really delicious cakes. The fudge and pecan one was outstanding. We will definitely visit again if in the area. The staff is efficient but could be a bit more friendly, a warm smile goes a long way, particularly on a rainy and miserable day!

Arrived on a day trip and attracted by several cafes along the front by the harbour and settled on the chocolate cafe/shop. Delishious hot chocolate with a huge chunk of cake which went down very well!

Popped in for a few truffles that didn't survive long they were so tasty, has to pop back for some more. The praline shells and milk chocolate truffles were amazing as was the chilli bite.

This is an unexpected gem in Tobermory selling handmade chocolates. There are many different types and it is a great place to buy gifts for those at home.

We stopped here for an afternoon snack. They allow dogs in a seating area near the entrance. The hot chocolate, chocolates, and cakes were very average. Could be improved with a cozier atmosphere (music, friendlier staff).

A real haven on a wet cold day! It gets stowed too - testament to the cosy atmosphere, good chocolates, lovely items in the shop - just a fine wee place to be. Very reasonably priced and chocolate flavours are first class.

We called in here on a wet lunchtime as we just wanted a cup of fresh coffee. The is a lovely selection of cakes to choose from. The cafe area is clean and spacious with sofas to relax on.

Popped in for a coffee and was tempted by the choklit and rice crispie cake!! The staff are super efficient and really lovely- there are also some lovely gifts and cards available as well as choklits to buy in smashing gift tins!!

Huge array of hand made chocolates, gifts, cards and a cafe with homemade cakes. There is a table inside the door where one can sit with "well behaved dogs". Worth visiting.

This is a combined chocolate manufacturing facility/coffee shop/gift shop. The chocolate smell as you enter is absolutely divine and if you can leave without purchasing then I'd be surprised. Lovely staff here. Great coffee in very pleasant surroundings.

If you are looking for somewhere to hide on a showery, not too hot, Mull Friday, this is as good as any, even if you are not in the market for chocolate. Cards, cakes, and coffee are on the menu as well. You can sit in the window and watch the world go by, or catch up on emails using the free wi-fi.

Called in here and bought some lovely chocolates and while we was in there we decided to try a hot chocolate with marshmallows and it was lovely if in Tobermory do try x

Fudge is good but it's not made by them, it comes from Crieff. Busy shop with a cafe. This scoring relates to the fudge, nothing else. We tried some chocolate but was nothing to save about.

If you like chocolate, this is a must! Hot chocolate, milkshakes, chocolate cakes and chocolates are all here. Served with a passion - this is a great place to visit on any trip to the lovely village of Tobermory.

Choklad kan aldrig bli fel! Finns även glass och café och lite turistartiklar. Smakade bara av chokladen och den var väldigt god. Fint läge vid huvudgatan och gott om sittplatser.

Lovely big shop with all kinds of gifts from jewellery, blankets,bags. Has a cafe inside where we ordered a coffee, one pot of tea with a slice of walnut & coffee cake and a malteser cake which were yummy, we had to sample them of course . Plenty of tables overlooking the beautiful harbour. Friendly place to sit and people watch.

Coffee and handmade chocolate, what could be nicer. This is a must even if you only buy a coffee and look at the chocolates.

Thought this place had a good atmosphere, busy and lots of comfortable seats available. Good choice of baking available and interesting choice of bits and pieces in the shop as well as their special chocolate.

I have visited this place several times, and have come to the conclusion that it must be a horrible place to work as the staff is always sour.

if you like chocolate this is a good spot. decent range of flavoured chocolates sold loose or in boxes.

A very tasty sweet shop though but not really an exhibition or a demonstration - not the day we were there anyway. Five stars for the quality and taste of the confectionery. There was a tearoom/cafe too although we didn't use it on this visit.

We tried the Armada, the ginger brittle, dark chocolate with hazelnuts and the mint creams. All were OK and the Armada was the best but just not a patch on Hotel chocolat. Sorry guys.

Les chocolats proposés sont tout à fait corrects (sans pour autant extraordinaires) et il y a ne nombreuses possibilités de faire de petits (ou pas) cadeaux sympatriques autour du chocolat...

This shop and cafe doesn't look particularly interesting or inviting from the outside but if you do decide to enter, you will have made the right decision. I went to the cafe and had a white chocolate hot chocolate and a Malteser Slice. Both were yummy, yummy. The shop sells hand crafted, artisan-type expensive chocolates and the display is mouth-watering.

Stopped here for a morning coffee and cake and some handmade chocolates. Very clean, lovely coffee and cakes and friendly staff. Would have stopped again but we had our dogs with us and the very limited dog friendly area was occupied by someone without a dog so had to give it a miss. Not the fault of the cafe, just an inconsiderate customer as lots of room in the main cafe area.

The good stuff, first: the tea came in a generously sized pot and was of a good colour, service was friendly and the place was clean at first glance (more of that later). We were a party of four, and each person was drinking tea, but with two different cakes. These were the 'Aero Mint' cake and the Rocky Road. I had the Aero Mint' and was intrigued by the overall flavour, but was dismayed at just how hard it was; so hard that it had a 'biscuitty' texture. I don't know if it was just the batch from which it came, or a result of having stood for a while, but it was an effort to eat.

The smell when you come in the door is just divine, but be prepared to dig deep for the privelige. Even the little packets of chocolate are expensive.

Quiet when we visited, but the chocolates on display are amazing. The cafe is very cosy also, with stunning views out over the bay. Bought some lovely chocolates to take home. Other interesting nick-nacks available.

Nice chocolate, tasty and not overpowering like some I have had but on the very pricey side. £1.99 for a couple of small pieces was a bit on the high side, if I had not been on holiday I would not have considered it.

Situated on the sea front overlooking the harbour a great place to have coffee. The coffee was excellent as was the home made traybake we had. The young ladies serving were pleasant and helpful

Just over from the harbour it is a lovely place for a seat and a cup of refreshment (coffee, chocolate or tea). There are numerous chocolate sweets to buy and take away as presents. The chocolate is white, milk or dark whatever your choice.

We just picked up some chocolate for the drive back to Kintra so I can't speak to the coffee or sit-down service but the chocolate was amazing and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely go again if I am ever in Tobermory.

I bought a box with individual selected chocolates each for my elderly mother and Aunt and both say they are the best chocolates they have ever had. Not cheap but each chocolate was eaten which in itself is praise indeed.

Dog was allowed into one of three tables inside. A welcome change! Had hot chocolate and some truffles. Really excellent.

Popped in for a coffee and a cake. The cake was very nice but the coffee was dissapointing. Whilst I could have made things better by asking for an additional shot, I have never been to a coffee shop that makes a flat white with just one shot of espresso. I tried it on the basis that they must know what they were doing but was disappointed as it had as a result very little coffee taste. Other items were fine such as the tea for my partner, but as I went in specifically for coffee I left wanting.

We sampled a few chocolates including the orange slices, which had a little too much chocolate on them for my taste.The orange strips were a little dry and the others were just okay.Nothing really exceptional but good chocolates relatively speaking.

Stopped for coffee as they allowed dog to sit at table at door very reasonable prices and had toasted tea cakes as scones were finished beautiful shop attached with amazing home made chocolates

I found the chocolate to be just ok nothing special. I've had way better else where. The girl behind the counter could of smiled a little. Would not return.

I know its a chocolate shop but we stopped for a coffee and the smell is so strong it makes your teeth hurt. And NO WIFI! We would have picked another place had we known that.
