I previously left a review about how our visit was ruined by an incredibly rude hostess. We visited yesterday on the 18th for dinner. Rude hostess was still present and still looked miserable. However we were sat and served by a tall, young waiter who was fantastic. Drinks were great and while they were very busy the waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable even tho he looked rushed off his feet. Food was fantastic. We will definitely be coming regularly when visiting Brighton.

Came in on the 10th for birthday meal with my boyfriend. Couldn't fault the drinks or food as both were excellent. However, as has been echoed in other recent reviews the hostess comes across as dismissive, almost verging on aggressive. She snapped at us the moment we walked in the door, she walked past our table ignoring us on numerous occasions. We almost walked out because of this. Food is great! Drinks are Great! Host is not.. We will probably think twice about returning.

This lovely, atmospheric restaurant not only has great staff and a brilliant seafront location, but by far the best Mexican food I’ve had in the UK during the 13 years I’ve lived here. The menu is sophisticated and authentic, and the owners and chefs make as many ingredients - tortillas, queso fresco, refried beans - as possible from scratch. Each dish is flavourful and well presented, making for a wonderful dining experience. Staff are charming, dedicated and knowledgeable. If you want to get a sense of what an elegant (yet affordable) meal in Mexico City would be like, you can do so by the Brighton seaside.

I was a bit dubious when I saw that it was a small plate menu, but nearly all of the food we ordered was very tasty and looked great. The Nacho starter was the only disapointment for me. Everything else was delicious. We had a lemonade each and enough food to fill us up for £55. Probably not great for kids as it's spicy and a bit different.

Our expectations were way too high for this place. The whole concept is interesting but the plates are too expensive for being tapas-size and the sauce/gravy was so strong we could not taste any other flavours. Also the plates come out in random order, I received mine and had to wait good 6 minutes before my partner got his. Don’t recommend and will not come back.

Brilliant food, service, table and overall experience. The hostess was fantastic, team attentive and the flavours of food and drinks were unlike anything I’ve had before, in a really good way too! An excellent treat if you want to go all in on the wonderful varied menu, but also more than possible to have a reasonably priced nice meal out at a reasonable price, but with wonderful food and a great team. Recommend a visit to everyone!

I ate at Tlaloc a few months ago and everything was perfect, but this time it was a huge disappointment. The waiting staff were friendly and professional, but didn’t have the wow factor that we got on our first visit. The food itself was mostly really bland. The chicken dish had a really dense gravy-type sauce and I couldn’t eat my half. The cauliflower dish was again bland. The scallops were pretty good and the beef in the beef tacos was tasty but chewy. On the plus side, the cake pudding was outstanding, and my husband enjoyed his margarita. As others have mentioned, portions are small and pricy - I really don’t think the quality makes up for it.

Lovely meal sharing lots of different dishes ,amazing flavours and cocktails. It's not cheap but you get what you pay for. Excellent attentive service, with 2 waiters serving a full restaurant. Came recommend and will be back.

Went to this restaurant for a birthday and tbh, the food, whilst looking impressive, is very average and not much flavour. It's also VERY expensive for what you get (£11 ish per TINY tapas dish). We ordered sea bream tacos (literally the size of your palm), Tiger prawns, octopus tacoSLs and chicken that we ended up leaving as the 'chocolate sauce' was incredibly bitter. The portions were ridiculously small and we all left here feeling hungry. Decor is nice and great cocktails, but won't be going back. There are much better Mexican places to eat in Brighton.

Booked a table today for my dads birthday, we were late but we called to let them know we are running late. despite calling the resturant the waitress wanted to take payment for no show. Had the worst experience with their staff. The waitress was rude and unprofessional.

We popped here on the off chance we could get a dinner place as I got excited as it stated Mexican food!! When we walked in the lady said there really wasn't any space but we could have half an hour before the table would be needed which was fine as just wanted a quick bite before we were off to concert. We ordered our drinks and some lamb tacos as the lady would only let us have the tapas menu. Mid way into drinking our drinks we got moved to the bar which we found a bit strange as don't give a table if you are going to move people!! The food arrived and seriously the portion was tiny. Two tiny tacos and some meat which was apparently lamb inside it. The taste was bland and mushy, to charge £11 per meal was insane for this foul tasting, tiny portion. To really round it off a couple of hours later I was then sick and bringing up the regurgitated cat food!! Do not eat here!!

Wow, what can I say? This place is amazing! Great authentic food, stellar cocktails and wonderful, friendly staff. This is a pop up restaurant which we hope will be a permanent fixture in Brighton. We had several of the fish dishes on the menu, which I would be happy to eat everyday!! This is a small cosy place so booking is essential.

Having very recently spent 6 months in Mexico it was a delight to find authentic Mexican food in Brighton. The chef of this pop-up, evenings only, restaurant is the real deal!

We were bowled over by the dishes we had here. The flavours of the food were incredible. We had starters of grilled prawns with squid ink aioli and the ceviche, and mains of the pulled goat tacos and sea bass tacos. The seafood was fresh and delicious, and perfectly presented. The tacos were bursting with flavour and the goat was melt in the mouth. Similarly, the drinks looked and tasted fantastic. Service was attentive and informative with top recommendations. Highly recommended.

But I'm pretty sure that as and when I do the food will be just like this, probably not as good though. One of the best meals I've had in Brighton. Beata looked after us so well. We asked her to choose the food for us, SENSATIONAL! The drinks were super tasty and the mezcal and tequila went down a treat. The pork belly with the mole sauce was a firm favourite as was the octopus tacos, I've never eaten such tender and juicy octopus. This place is a real gem and I thoroughly hope they find a more permanent residence. I'll be going back next weekend!

Friendly, super tasty, good value.

A pop-up restaurant inside Oseta Cafe on North Road, this wasn’t the easiest place to find but we were so glad we did. It felt like we had discovered a hidden secret. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and made us feel incredibly welcome. The Mezcal Mules were superb, the ceviche style tuna aguachile starter was incredible. Authentic, melt in the mouth slow cooked goat tacos were delicious, as was the pork belly mole poblano.

Had a total fiesta in my mouth last night at Brighton’s newest Mexican pop up kitchen! I’m from Texas and have spent time travelling in Mexico and am obsessed with Mexican cuisine and usually Mexican food on this side of the Atlantic is pretty mediocre compared to what I’m used to in the Southwest. It’s a taste of home that I always miss and last night these guys totally blew my mind with beautiful vegan & gluten free tacos and mezcal cocktails and the BEST DAMN MARGARITAS this side of the pond! Muchas Gracias and we will be back soon! Hit them for seriously authentic Mexican! It’s is a pop up so it’s a cafe during the day and is the Mexican in the eve. The place is small so defo recommend booking a table. Really recommend the hibiscus tacos!

Would 100% recommend Tlaloc to anyone looking for an authentic taste of Mexican cuisine, The pork mole belly is one of my favourite dishes ever and the tacos are just as great, especially the hibiscus flower tacos.

This pop up Mexican restaurant was by the far the best experience I have had eating out in a long time! The food was beautiful, unusual, authentic and so delicious! It was sensational. There were 3 staff working when we went and it added to the joy of it all to see them making everything fresh for you, the chef in the kitchen, someone rolling out the tortillas and someone making amazing cocktails- it is rare to have a meal out that is so fresh and properly handmade! The vegan tacos were sublime and I had a mezcal old fashioned which is definitely the best cocktail I have ever drank and strong and reasonably priced at £6.00. We went in a large group for a birthday celebration and the staff were so wonderful and accomodating! It is a new business and you can tell the genuine passion the staff have for it- it really left we smiling, sure it will soon become a real favourite, I will definitely be back. It's always nice to know that you are paying for food that has really been made with passion - you can tell that the chef who set it up is so full of love for this and for me that really added to the experience. A wonderful night,relaxed atmosphere, great staff and sensational food and drink. Everything looked gorgeous and the textures and tastes were truly delicious.Can't to take my partner there.

If you want to taste what Mexican food actually is, go to Tlaloc. The rich and complex mole sauce, with some of the best pork belly I've eaten - a must try! Then there's the tacos... Whether it's the pork pastor or the Birria (goat) tacos, served on hand made to order corn tortillas, these are the only tacos you should eat! They also have a great selection of vegi and vegan options. The cocktails follow suit - fresh delicious and very reasonable, as well as great mezcals and tequilas. The atmosphere is great, with friendly and passionate staff this place is a gem! Will be back again... and again

The best place to eat tacos al pastor in Brighton, there are just so artesanal and delicious, the handmade corn tortilla with the soft pork and amazing salsa make a great combination for your mouth. This place is an authentic Mexican restaurant. Plus the margaritas are so amazing, I had the Aperol margarita and was so good I had many more. I would say this place is a must to go for Mexican food in Brighton.

If you want to taste honest, authentic and deliscous Mexican food Tlaloc is the place to be. The staff are passionate and friendly, cocktails are very reasonably priced and they have a good selection of mezcal and tequilas. Whether it’s fresh homemade tortillas enfused with poblano chilli, sweet and spicy tacos pastor or the rich complexity of Tlaloc’s mole sauce, you will be hard pressed to find these flavours anywhere else in England.

Super interesting flavors, fresh and delicious, went there with a group of friend and we all loved it! well served and not expensive, the pork taco is the absolute best 🐽

Best Mexican food we've had outside Mexico!
