Tiny Cafe in West Berkshire

Just lovely. Great coffee, great food, and really looked after us on our visit. Lovely people and atmosphere. Thanks so much!

The breakfast, full English and Salmon were very good as was the coffee. We waited a little while for the food, but we’re not disappointed by the freshly cooked meal which was piping hot. Member of staff welcoming and attentive. We will go back.

The breakfast was fantastic! Avocado toast with poached egg and the best coffee in Newbury! Cozy and cute place to stop for a morning or afternoon break. I sat in the window table and you have a picture of my lovely view.

The " Appropriator" a small disagreable article who claimed to be the propriotor took my order of a cup of tea and a bacon sandwhich ,he was curt and showed no ability as a "server" or as an entrepeneur ,the tea was cold as was the sandwhich which he for some reason"refused" to handle while a nervous young Englishman brought the order to my table was genial if a little afraid of his "dictator" , the price for tea (one cup) and a soggy cold bacon bap = 9 pounds fifty !! 9.50 , 2.50 for the tea and Seven pounds for the dissapointing food ,when I questioned the price the "Article " showed no interest and when I demanded a proper reciept all he could muster was a primary school standard scribble on a piece of scrap paper , he became verbally aggressive at my request for a vat reciept and told me to "get out of his house" , he is without a doubt a thief ,he was unable to show me a printed menu card with prices and claimed I was " breaking his head " with my simple quite normal request , he even managed to insight two local social missfits to aid the hiding of his crime of overcharging and customer abuse , it saddens me to see historical buildings in a historical town allowed to be turned into dens of ineqeity , In hindsight I should have refused to pay and summoned the Police or compellled Mr Ciontheclient to do likewise , he appropriated my money like a skilfull secondhand car salesman , Newbury has as a town lost any charm it may have had in previous years , more so because Newbury and its Shop fronts are now nothing more than a facade ,a false impression of what lies within .

The cakes are to die for. The Custard pastry (real name karpatka) is about 4" of solid custard cream between two pieces of puff pastry. The swiss roll is a layer of cream and strawberry preserve with some sponge wrapped around it. The English breakfast is great. The sausages tast of herby meat, the mushrooms are sometimes cooked with garlic. The quality of food is special Don't tell everyone as there are only about 20 seats inside and there will then be no room for us.

I love this little cafe. It's a small place and the food is delicious. The greeting is always friendly. It's not fast service but there are tons of fast food places in Newbury - this cafe is a place to pause and take an hour out to enjoy the time passing, enjoy some delicious food and have a chat. Not everything has to be in a rush. I had a really lovely early breakfast of porridge and fruit today - could not fault the service, the cooking or the surroundings. Brilliant start to the day and I hope to visit again soon.

Small place with 1 person working there. Took ages for a breakfast and then got pretty cramped. Will not be rushing back!

Lovely staff and delicious food. We had English breakfast and Avocado toast and both dishes are really tasty. Nice and cozy place to have your breakfast.

Made a second visit after a few months. Poor reception from staff. Waited quite a while for coffee as did another customer. Takeaway customers came in and got their coffees and left. We were told they served takeaway customers first!!!! Unsmiling service. 2 visits is enough. Won’t return. The coffee was actually nice.

Quaint cafe, friendly service, croissant and pain au choc tastey! Coffee spot-on. Outside table in the sun. What more can you ask for..

Passing by and glanced into the cafe to see what was in the food counters and was welcomed with a 'hello'. Sounds so obvious yet normally missed by so many independent businesses. With a warm greeting I didn't hesitate to go completely into the shop and view the offerings. Being later in the day the sandwich offering was reduced but I totally understand this in order to keep everything fresh each day. Lovely toasted halloumi and red pepper focaccia. I'll be back 👌🏻

This is a lovely little cafe, the staff are very friendly and the food is tasty, freshly cooked and excellent value. They gladly accommodated a largish group of us for breakfast, which was appreciated. Well worth a visit.

What can I say, on a highstreet saturated with generic ten a penny cafes that are happy to serve dirt water at a ridiculous going rate, it is ALWAYS refreshing to find somewhere that acts with genuine heart! To keek my review short, I shall leave a list of bullet points to help YOU to understand EXACTLY why this is the sort of cafe that you need in your life! - EXCELLENT coffee I would very much disagree with other reviews, the coffee here is FAN-TAS-TIC! Expect no fancy squigles on the surface of your drink, although as for taste, corr! This is coffee made by somebody who cares! - STUNNING food For the cost, what you're getting is truly amazing! Beautifully presented homemade cake lighter than a cloud, great dishes that scream flavor. - AMAZING value For what is offered, you will NOT break the bank by settling down here for a meal! for under 10 pounds, a coffee, cake, and home-cooked meal feels MORE than generous in this day and age! - INCREDIBLY friendly staff. I stumbled my way into the cafe on a particularly bad day for myself, and I have to say, I felt INCREDIBLY welcomed by the members of staff.. attentive, kind, genuinely down to earth. I feel that a cafe should not JUST offer a service, but an experience!

Quite a nice little place with quite nice food and coffee. 3 rating as they charged 20p more for for decaffeinated coffee as opposed to regular coffee. Not really acceptable.

I have been here twice in the last month but not again. The staff are friendly but the coffee is very poor, very weak and no crema on the black coffee. A combination of poor coffee beans and poor barista. The cakes on offer were all sickly looking cream cakes and nothing suitable to go with a mid morning coffee.

I decided to explore this new café for a change, and was delighted. The owner is very welcoming and smiling, and the atmosphere is really friendly.

Lovely selection of fresh cakes, pastries, Russian open sandwiches, salads, cooked breakfasts and nice drinks on offer. We would always prefer to support small business who pour their heart and souls into their food and service, great prices too. A real gem of a cafe, great for breakfast and is becoming a real staple in our weekends. We look forward to carry on returning, thank you.

I went into the Tiny Cafe not long after it opened a few weeks ago, greeted with a big cheery smile by the lovely owner and I've been back a couple of times a week every week since! The cakes and sandwiches they have on offer are always lovely and freshly made each day, great for grabbing on the fly if you're going past. My bacon sandwich on a Saturday is crispy but soft with a good lot of bacon in it - nice and warm as well. I can't fault this place, and it's always got a good number of punters in it which is amazing to see - I'll be going back as often as I can!
