For us the fish is the best around, and we are regulars. Really good, every time. Good portions of chips too.

I used to go here regularly, but after today I won't be going again. The fish was the worst I have ever had! 95% batter and a couple of mouthfuls of dried up fish!

We called into Tingley Bar fish shop and ordered fish and chips and potato scallops. All of the food had been warmed up again in and was so hard that it was impossible to eat. Unfortunately we were unable to return to the shop to make our complaint but will do so when we pass next week

Just bought fish and chips for five and they were all overcooked and dry as if they had been cooked hours before so won’t even go again.I like fish and chips and it might have been an off day but they won’t get my trade again

Just got home after ordering fish and chips to see this is the size of a portion of chips! Went in at half 8 and they were closing at 9 so don't know if the staff were saving the chips for their dinner. But having spent £15 on dinner very disappointed.

Last night called in for fish and chips for tea it was worst fish and chips ive ever had batter was dark brown hard when i managed to break inside fish was almost non existent what was there was grey really inedible chips were like slices of potato not like chips at all all curled up and whole lot was obviously left over from lunch highly disgusted never going back again . Really gone down hill used to be such a nice chippy .

First visit since they closed the restaurant - time constraints prevented going elsewhere. Staff look totally disinterested in working there, chips were a bit on the soggy side, fish quality average at best - and not cheap. This was once a great fish and chip takeaway but every time we visit it goes downhill a bit more - we never learn!

Got back after a long flight and you know what you need! Staff are so friendly and fish is cooked to perfection! Portions are great and they taste amazing! Would not go anywhere else

Not a good experience ordered two specials n chips it was dark old n smelly will never go again. I think you get better looked after if you are a regular customer

Been plenty off times and the standard always stays the same ,Mostly cook to order so food alway fresh and piping hot Fare priced not much difference from other shops , if you like a little of everything try the all day special, chips fish bits and sausage covered with , gravy , peas or curry and it's at a great priceVery clean , great staff always happy and polite 5*****

I was very disappointed with the quality of the fish instead of being white it was dark grey the chips were cold.

We were passing and wer hungry, top fish and chips at a good price. Have been a few times now rather that the friday night takeaway pizza

Yo y mis facultades especiales siempre tendrás el día que todos son geniales por sólo 3.30, nos gusta el hecho de que está lleno por la tarde, lamentablemente no fue personal diferente en la actualidad y las porciones que sirven todos eran simplemente diminuta. Podríamos haber comido la misma caja de nuevo. Había una cosa nueva de poner papel en el primer cuadro que no necesita. La comida siempre era absolutamente encantador, pero si el tamaño de las porciones no volver a lo que normalmente se le han perdido unos clientes habituales!

The fish and chips are delicious. The fish is cooked fresh every time. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Really nice staff , quick service it's really lovely here. My only complaint was the a really bad fishy smell out side not sure if it was the bins and I know that can't be helped but it's smelt horrible.

Decent quality fish and chips at ok price but the place feels a bit rundown nowadays and looks shabby from the outside with a tatty entrance, the interior of the takeaway feels a bit shabby/tired as well and needs a really good clean and tidying up

Fish butties and chips with bits. Perfect white fish, good crispy batter and well cooked chips. Good quality and not to be faulted. Great northern fish and chips, the best in the area. Keep up the good work.

My husband and I visited last night for the second time. The first was years ago and unfortunately when we looked for this restaurant on our last visit we found instead The Mermaid Fish Restaurant which is nearby. Whilst The Mermaid, looks newer; brighter and more "refined" the food was overpriced and poor! Thank heavens we found the right one this time. On first passing you may think the restaurant is closed, I did, but a warm welcome awaits inside. Its clean and basic but what it lacks in comforts are soon forgotten when the fish and chips are served piping hot. Good sized portion of fish, delightful seasoned mushy peas (some of the best we've had) and all cooked in dripping. Proper stuff. Price includes bread and butter and a drink, we chose tea. You can't have fish n chips with anything else. My one gripe - the price of mushy peas, don't be greedy, they were good but not sure they're worth the price being charged. We will be back!

I have been twice for fish and chips from hear and both times was not pleasant left a horrible taste in my mouth the chips tasted like warm cardboard i only went a second time because i thought everywhere can have bad days but wish I hadn't of bothered

have bern eating here for at least 40 years and have never been disappointed. it may be in need of a make over but this does not distract from the quality and taste, very reasonably priced with nice desserts..

Popped in for fish and chips and was told that fresh fish was in the pan frying and wouldn't be long. Then the fryer made this fish appear from the back of the heating display and it was subsequently wrapped and given to me. On eating it seemed it had been there for quite some time as it was dry and half of it was inedible. No batter to speak of and was charged £1.65 more than the price written up on the board. Would not recommend and I certainly won't be going back.

So the food is good with good portion sizes but the place looks in need of a complete redecoration inside and out - looks decidedly tatty from outside. Prices are a bit cheaper than the Mermaid up the road (couldn't be more expensive I'm sure) so if you are hungry and don't want plush surroundings it's worth a visit.

Have had fish from here many times at least once a week don't know who made the batter last time it was awful much too thick ,will try again but if it is the same will then go somewhere else.

We live in Suffolk now and its so hard to find good Fish & Chips, so we really look forward to calling here every time we visit Yorkshire.We visit Tingley Bar Fisheries at least once a year when we visit family.I would recommend the Fish & Chips here to anyone, but especially if you live down south. Come and see what Fish & Chips should be like ;-)

A huge plate of freshly fried haddock and chips, with plenty of tea, bread and butter at £5.75 per person. What's not to like?

We took our Grandaughter here last night because she kept saying it was the best fish & Chips in Morley. They were really great and I am very fussy with fish & Chips.
