We found this place a few years ago and always treat ourselves here for lunch which is always very tasty. It's the same lady who still serves up delicious dishes from chicken satay to chow meins and Singapore noodles which again satisfied our bellies. We also like the mix and match she offers so you can try 2 of the dishes instead of just one. Very nice.

Used to be ok ish , very expensive for portions of microwaved warmed Oriental style food. Friendly staff, expensive grub. As the council are very picky and some say are a bit dodgy , there are no similar eateries in the dead market square.

Fresh food, reasonably priced. Just wished they delivered and were open evenings. A hidden gem in Newton abbot. Food amazing and the ladies who make these dishes so lovely.

Not very good, used to be ok but has now gone down hill. My wife had chicken Chow mein and I had Thai curry, with 2 canned drinks the bill was £18 ish. The food portions were very small for £6.99 each and were warmed for 30 seconds in a microwave, no sauces were available and the selection wasn't very fresh. I asked for Banana sauce on my rice and my wife asked for sweet chilli sauce, neither of which happened. The bin was overflowing and the hand sanitiser was out.

I brought the Pad Thai and Pork Bun for lunch coming to £7.25 in total. The noodle bar is located in a hotsopt shopping location making it convenient for local shoppers to grab a bite. There's outdoor seating surrounding the hut and customers can get a first class tickets for people watching. For some it's good to be in an open space, but I know many enjoy eating in a more private dining space or around the comfort of other customers. The food is hit and miss. If you're coming for the luxurious taste of Thai, go somewhere else, there's plenty food venues that provide Thai meals around Newton abbot. When noodles are recently cooked, satisfying. When not, they're sat on the dish and heated when brought. Mine tasted nice and spicy but chewy and dry. I can tell these noodles have been sat for an extended period of time. Pork Bun, nice and sweet, sticky sweet meat. The paper stuck on the bottom when heated is a pain but hay ho. This is definitely the worst pad Thai I've eaten but nit unbearable and the price with the location convenience can't really complain too much. I would eat here again to try the other noodle varieties, but I will definitely not be eating this one again.

Really good Noodle Bar in the centre of town. Really tasty. Just the right size for a lunchtime snack. Always greeted with a friendly smile.

I used to love the noodle bar but by lunchtime the noodles were so dry, as they were cooked early! I thought I would get some early today. Since I was last here, a portion of Singapore noodles has gone up by £1. Now £4.75! I wouldn’t mind but when I got home there was only 3-4 spoonfuls!!!

I had the sweet chili pork here for only 3.85 and a Diet Coke for 59p and it was a very generous and lovely meal. Filled me up and was a quick service with nice outside seating. Overall nice experience

Most meals are between £3.50 and £5.00 served in cardboard takeaway boxes. You can either sit outside in the sunshine watching the busy market square, or takeaway. The food is beautifully cooked, and the lovely ladies who run the places are friendly and knowledgeable about the food. You can see them cooking it. We go there often when we visit the town.

As usual, a warm welcome from The Nobody Inn on a snowy night. Fought our way through literally 4 cms of snow to go to the Beaujolais Nouveau event. This new wine was matched with a classic Boeuf Bourguignon. Both perfect. The temperature from the cosy fire and the welcome were both warm. Some locals in the pub rescued us and pushed us out of the snow drifts - very pleased to join the other guests. Always been a great pub.

Nice place - had breakfast here a few months ago and it was great. Back in the area today looking to do 30 minutes work with a coffee (quiet inside with lots of seats available) and was told when my coffee was delivered that no laptops were allowed. This is not signposted anywhere and I did not feel welcome, even with my laptop closed. Left without drinking the coffee and went to Cafe Latino where I was much more welcome, they offered the Wi-Fi password and the coffee was great. Probably won't come back to The Old Library, which is a shame!
