A lovely spot by the river Thames in Richmond. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options are available. There is a wonderful range of hot or cold food and desserts. You can sit inside or out on the terrace. And there is free wifi! It’s a place that you could easily while away the hours in. And the staff are lovely. It can get busy at times, not surprisingly as it’s a popular location.

Great vegetarian cafe in fantastic location by the bridge over the Thames So many places have only limited choice for non meat eaters - here the whole menu is dedicated to them. Lovely salads to go with the heated options. Good range of cakes etc and excellent coffee with such friendly staff

Location was excellent but overall experience was somewhat underwhelming. Range of food was good, but disappointed with quality. I ordered a pistachio topped cake which was extremely dried (poorly presented crumbly chunk on a small plate). I ordered a flat-white and an americano, but had to return as coffee was too bitter (Staff did immediately replace though). If more attention is given to presentation and quality, there is great potential for improved reviews.

I came here with a mum who was on a diet and there were v limited options. She ended up with basically a bowl of cucumber and tomato. I had a frittata that was fine. It has big crowds because of the location, but was slow to serve inside. There are much better places for lunch in Richmond.

Great service, great food & a great view to enjoy it with. Once they were closed in the evening when we went to grab some snacks. Although their tills were closed, Mihai managed to gave us some nibbles saying that this was a part of their service towards the customer & we can pay later. This was such a great gesture from Mihai & such gestures go far. Well done Mihai & team at tide table cafe.

My daughter and I walked along the riverbank from Twickenham to try this cafe - well worth the walk! As vegans, it was great to find a choice of several tasty, filling and unusual tarts (£5.95 each). The Sweet Potato and Apricot, in particular, was delicious and has inspired me to attempt to recreate it when I get home!! There were also a number of delicious vegan cakes (about £3.75 - £3.95 per slice). Staff were friendly and helpful. They are currently only serving food to take out but there are lots of tables on their terrace which you can sit at. Would definitely recommend.

Walked in, cafe was empty. Two staff members behind the counter concentrating hard on their mobile phones. Waited for a few minutes & then asked them if they could help us. 20 seconds later after finishing on the phone, they spoke. Was then told that all the food was labelled, so we needn't ask what each pastry type was. Then the other staff member apologised & said that actually they were not labelled correctly. The pastries were reheated but were very average. The cauliflower pie actually had no cauliflower. I asked if it was the correct pie & they looked up from their phone again & said yes. Would have been better calling it a mixed veg pie. With plenty of options in this area, would not return. Would also recommend some staff etiquette when it comes to use of phones.

This is a quirky vegetarian cafe set in one of the tunnels under the Richmond Bridge. I had a satisfactory spinach and cheese quiche and nice salads. The coffee was just okay. It’s quick-serve food from Bain Marie’s which is either eaten outside on plastic furniture overlooking the Thames or inside at clunky little plastic-covered tables. Good for a quick, healthy lunch.

Usually chaotic in the ordering and serving of food / drinks. Good selection of vegetarian / vegan (?) food though and friendly staff. Sadly it is hugely overpriced - even for Richmond. I've known this cafe for a long time and eat here occasionally. It's a veggie place and is always busy. A group of us stopped by for lunch after a 5 mile walk. It was busy being an unexpectedly nice day. We managed to put a few tables together outside so that we could sit together. We had a variety of the food on offer and it was all OK. Our samosa's were flavourless however and needed a good dash of chilli sauce to brighten things up. People don't have to buy food to use the garden are but many sat facing the river, sipping tea and shooing birds!

After two minutes a young man entered from outside and walked behind the counter, ignored us whilst adjusting his hair and eventually came to take our order. Without smiling or welcome he merely said “yes”? We asked for two teas which he originally priced at £4.50 then decided he was going to charge £5. No explanation or apology. I've been a regular customer of Tide Tables for years now, and have always enjoyed sitting out by the river having a latte and snack after a riverside walk, as well as appreciating the friendly staff. It has recently gone vegan, with a somewhat pompous notice telling us about the moral shortcomings of the milk industry to explain why I'm now denied the simple pleasure of a decent latte. I don't want oat milk, or the other unspeakable options. They've taken away the range of biscotti, homemade cookies and nata pastries and only offer a vegan gluten free bar which I couldn't finish. OK, I can go up into the centre of Richmond and choose from a range of cafes, but I'd rather watch the river than the traffic. It's fine to promote the non dairy options but to make them compulsory is to ignore this cafe's role as a community facility.

This place is a 3.5 - not a 3 nor a 4. We had a reasonable lunch here; the Vegan menu was ok for a change, the food was quite tasty. It’s a bit expensive for what it is, tbh - &10.95 for a very small vegan quiche and a bowl of salad is rather OTT. Tbh though the salads are quite big - you could get away with one between 2, though that’s still then £8 or sth for a not-extravagant lunch.

I like dropping into Tide Tables since it's on my dog walk from Richmond to the Hammerton's Ferry. Pastries and coffee are usually nice by the bridge. But unfortunately the service is unpredictable. The chap who served me today was completely out of his depth and unsupervised. The coffee he made was little better than instant and he forgot to stir the Mocha (even on his second attempt!). The result was undissolved cocoa sludge in the bottom. I complained but got no apology or refund. When you're paying the high prices TT charge you expect better than greasy spoon service. I hope they sort themselves out for my next visit otherwise I'm upscaling to Bill's or Gauchos.

Have walked by this place daily and today we decided to visit for lunch. Great for outdoor eating by the river, fast and friendly service, impressive selection of food...veggie, gf & vegan. We ordered the veg lasagne with side salad and the falafel plate. Both dishes were served in generous amounts - the side salad was like a main sized salad (for me) but good selection of three types (classic, chick pea and greek) so you're not overloaded with lettuce. Lasagne was huge but moorish and the falafels were quite large and came with a salad, humous and a bread roll. TASTY!Will definitely eat and get take away from here. If anything just a little on the expensive side (£25 for two lunches with two fizzy drinks) but then with a view like this one, the fresh quality, generous portions, great selection and friendly service...forgiven :-)

Stopped here for lunch didn't realise it was vegetarian/vegan but that was no problem as there was enough choice. I chose the quiche which looked lovely and kind of 'homemade' and it came with a nice salad. On returning to get cake the illusion was somewhat shattered by the staff removing the quiches from plastic packaging. Had I not seen this I would have gone away quite happy with my choice but I just felt a little let down. Not that it said anywhere it was homemade but that was the kind of look they appeared to want to portray. Suggest unpacking food out of sight of customers in the future, As others have said it wasn't cheap but reasonably tasty and a lovely view.

It has a perfect location with plenty of space for outdoor seating in what was a dry and sunny afternoon. The food sadly doesn't quite hit the mark. The microwave is used liberally - we witnessed a scone going in at one point. Carrot cake was too dry, and other cakes were not labelled. Staff not really communicative - we ordered our drinks and cakes twice; didn't know what the cakes were - and didn't spot where someone had clearly spilled drink under the chairs inside when clearing tables. Afternoon wander around Richmond and we were in desperate need of sustenance. Ambled in expecting a traditional coffee shop/cream teas etc., but was glad to see more substantial food. Then, there was the "where is the ham/chicken sandwiches?" moment followed by the hastily tracking through the menu trying to find something that I thought I'd like moment (whilst the girl serving impatiently waited for an order). We finally decided on spinach and ricotta filo rolls and tea followed by an almond pastry and a black cherry bakewell. Got to say they were all very nice. Surroundings were a little quirky, being an arch under the Thames bridge approach. I'm sure it could get a little cramped at busier times, but all in all a good find. Only improvement would be a nicer attitude from the young girl who served us as she seemed more interested in talking to the bloke who appeared to be the boss.

Disappointed with everything. The toilets were shockingly dirty, the sofa's were absolutely filthy and the tables and chairs were crammed into the seating areas inside. We first visited this place 18 months ago and was very impressed but this visit was utterly disappointing. The food looked great on display but all of its food was just microwaved. We ate the samosa with salad which we thought would be baked crisp but was just microwaved so soggy as anything - not worth it for the rip off price of £8!!! I doubt anything was freshly prepared, just seems everything is bought in and then reheated for high markups. Staff were rude, no greeting even though place was really quiet on a wet day, not even a thank you when paying for food. I would avoid this place at all cost and head up to the high street for better cafes or sandwich.

We sat inside on a very wet day and were basically disappointed with everything. The food looked great on display but the spinach and filo roll, plus veg quiche were just heated in the microwave and didn't taste great. The greek salad was ok. Our coffee didn't arrive till we chased it and the cups were really not clean. Staff only seemed interested in the local customers and not faces they hadn't seen before. Definitely wouldn't go back as there are so many lovely places in the area.

Mycket trevligt och annorlunda café under Richmond bridge. Gott och prisvärt fika och lugn och ro. Väl värt ett besök.

As. 30 year vegetarian the one thing I am used to is having to carefully select eating options so as to avoid places that offer a single Veggie option, or those that rely on Vegetarian Lasagne! What I am still not used to is finding places that provide only vegetarian and when I find one I'm spoilt for choice. The Tide Tables is no exception to that rule. A huge variety o yummy veg options, including two 'meal' staples and pies/pastries galore. This is a cafe not a restaurant so don't expect haute cuisine! But you get friendly, helpful service, the cafe is busy (always a good sign) and there were plenty of non-veggie customers being amazed that us non meat eater have such a huge variety of food (sigh!)I had a tasty and filling mushroom and spinach pie with salad, which I ate on their veranda area....a lovely oasis of calm amongst the busy promenade of Richmond Riverside, watching the sun through trees and feeling mighty relaxed (perfect after a busy work day).Recommended for meat and non-meat eaters alike!

This picturesque cafe nestles under the arches of Richmond Bridge and has outside space overlooking the river. It's great to sit there and watch people along the river, the ducks and rowers as well as cyclists and dog walkers. Their coffee and cakes are really good, and the other food (salads, pies etc) is always fresh and tasty. Indoors it's cosy and a good winter venue with mainly tables and chairs but a couple of casual sofas too.

Good coffee, shame about the staff who seem to spend their time loafing about, whilst one of them struggles to cope. Too long a list of negatives to go into, the owner realy needs to sort the place out.

At last - a vast meat free menu with vegan & gluten options - so much to choose from! Great riverside location under the arches at Richmond Bridge where you can sit & watch the world (& river) go by.

I had a terrible experience - I told one of the staff, I fancied humus, falafel and salad and the naan bread my friend had ordered with her chickpea curry. The waitress said oh you can have the Falafel Plate. As that meal was listed on the vegan menu I assumed it would be vegan, but half way through eating the meal I saw the salad had feta cheese in it. When I pointed this out, instead of apologising, several staff were very defensive and said I should have asked for the vegan option!! That doesn’t make sense to me as it was on the vegan menu, not listed as a vegan OPTION. They made me feel like I had done something wrong, they were very accusing and cold and it was a very upsetting experience. Twice I emailed the owner but didn't get a reply let alone an apology. Food allergies should be taken seriously.

Went there last year for muffin and tea. It was average. Went again in August for afternoon tea. Nothing to rave about. The location sitting outside looking over River Thames and people watching.

With the family we met for lunch at the Tide Tbles Cafe along the river Thames. This is an all vegetarian cafe with a lot of choice. The terrace with tbles and chairs is very basic with mesh table tops and rather grubby. We had vegetarian ciches which were diappointently bland, however some other had sweet choices which were much tastier. On a hot day it is nice sitting under the trees and watching the river.

The staff here are lovely and very helpful. They are happy to do things slightly "off menu". You can see how popular it is with locals as the same people go there time and again!

Visted yesterday and found the cafe very overpriced - £5.95 for a sausage roll that literally dripped fat all over the table - you can get half a dozen much nicer ones at Greggs for that 😂 Chocolate cake looked good but at £5.25 a slice we gave it a miss, likewise £11.50 for a baked potato with sausage and onions. My latte didn't appear to have much milk in it (clue should be in the name) and the service wasn't particularly friendly either. Dirty crockery was piling up and not being cleared - I'm guessing they were short of staff. Hampton Court Palace is one of my absolute favourite places but this little cafe really needs some TLC.

We've just come back from a walk in the Park and a halfway break at this little cafe. What a gem! The owner of the cafe, Mario, was so friendly and welcoming. We had a nice coffee and yummy pastries. Highly recommend. Plan to return to try their homemade pizzas.
