I love this chippy, the food is fresh and tasty. The staff are friendly and it's good value for money

Fish cooked freshly was nice. Battered sausages had been in hot cabinet for a while. Chips although cooked freshly were soggy.

The Tickhill Chippy is spotless, the staff are very helpful and cheerful and the portions are large. We took two portions of Haddock and a portion of Cod plus a huge pile of chips. It was far too much for us but we wanted to compare the Haddock and Cod. We both preferred the Haddock, lovely buttery and firm whereas the Cod, whilst nice, was more flakey and drier. Just my taste but both were cooked to perfection so no fault of the chippy. A great meal, everything fresh, cooked as we waited. 5 stars, well done.

Got an sausage and it was cold, chips where horrible. the owners are nice, but i need more satisfaction. Bread was soggy but yeah

Best fish and chips in Doncaster

Beautiful chips and large fish with mushy peas. Yes there are cheaper 'special' options. Very nice chippy. Staff seem nice enough. I would highly recommend this chip shop. By the way, they look to do a bit of everything, such as Kebabs etc, so great place to go if you're coming out of the pub at night and need a quick bite to eat.

Excellent food. I try to have something different each visit. Food is always piping hot. The salad is alway fresher than fresh.

Called on for lunch had fish chips and curry first class food quality and taste superb lovely staff service was great definitely my new go to Chippy

Very very poor portions large chips £4.50 well over priced for the amount we got wasn't even large was only enough for 1 will not return .staff hadn't any idea on portion sizes as was told by the gentleman telling them what size to give . Very disappointing

Always been a tad expensive but the whole world is like that I guess now, but you cant fault the service, the owners or the cleaniness of it, the best chippy around!!

I had ridden about 75 miles out of a hundred mile round robin circuit from Chesterfield down to Newark then Gainsborough and basically had begun to run out of steam. Seeing the chippy to the side of the road was a godsend and that bag of chips was just enough to top me up for the last quarter of the journey. I will do the route again and I will stop by here again too. The people working there were very warm and friendly. Service with a smile. :)

Very disappointed that on buying three fish meals at 5pm, the fish were clearly warmed up from earlier. Hard batter, dark coloured and smelly fish. Not what I paid for. I live away nowadays but won't be going back.

Just love to visit here. As I walk with a local group. It’s always nice to call for tea. I can recommend the chicken wrap. It is very delicious and filling. Very reasonable price too. I normally have just chips. But this was a lovely change. 👍😋

i came here with 3 other pupils and 4 staff from Purbeck View School whilst on a mini holiday in the area as part of Hesley Challenge 2003 even though it was half past nine at night, we had a munch on a very late tea of fish and chips the fish and chips are very good quality and they do small portion sizes-perfect for people's kiddywinks (children)

Visited the chippy in Tickhill for the first time in over a decade. The chips were nice enough, but the mushy peas were little more than marrowfat peas in green water. Nothing like proper mushy peas at all. Room for improvement there.

Every other Saturday we get four fish and a large chips. The staff are very helpful and polite and the Fish and chips are fantastic. Also try the chicken Kabab

Been back to my home town for a few weeks and really happy to report the chip chop is on fantastic form.. 3 visits , firstly the whole family small cod and chips , crispy , flakey fish a great chips .. been back twice more , southern fried chicken late night treat then finally chicken kebab ... All were great value for money but better than that really tasty and the friendly service all spot on

My partners lives in village so have used this place for years, probably twice per month at least. Have enjoyed all the food I've had and mainly have kebab meat and salad. Good portions of nice chips. Gets very busy at expected times which shows how popular it is.

Got 2 mini fish specials chips were great but fish was thick with soggy batter and fish itself was mushy and not flaky- almost like it had been frozen- really disappointing as we regularly walk by and it smells lovely- won’t be wasting money here again

the people who own this lovely place are very friendly always ask how we are and happy to see us ,the food cooked to your liking and really enjoyable thank you

That is the worst I can say but it also indicates the popularity of this chippy on the A60. I happily pop into this one confident of the product quality and quantity - the same I cant say for others in the area.

Visit here at least once a week.The fish and chips and fish cakes consistently excellent.There are other choices from a large menu Doner,Pies,,sausages.Always fast and friendly service.

I've been a regular customer of this chip shop over many years be under various ownerships. I have to say recently since the refurbishment I'm. Not happy with the food. I've had half a fish (charged at full price). I've had a full length fish but cut length ways to make it look like a proper cod (also charged at full price). They have changed the batter for a poorer quality batter than usual and less than a cm of fish inside. I took photos. Price has gone up and the portions of chips were "interesting". I've been a staunch supporter over the years but since the last take over this chip shop has recently gone right down in my ratings. There are many chip shops within 5 miles of tickhill and I've compared them all. Standards Of quality and quantity are definitely slipping... and all because of a refurb. Such a shame. I'm now getting my weekly treat from up the road now. And I get a full fish with lovely chips and at 30p less

Couldn't resist letting others know how good the fish and chips are from this establishment. The 2 large cod, 1 regular cod,chips and peas were absolutely sensational. Straight out of the frier, crisp batter and brilliant white fish. Doesn't get any better and is right on my doorstep- fantastic!Keep it up Mike and Vassos your attention to detail is shining through in the quality of your food

I had just had a rather expensive starter at a nearby Italian place and was still hungry. I passed by and the smell drew me in. Curry and chips hit the spot and I sat outside with my pooches . Loved it !!

Fish had crispy batter with flakes white fish inside, chip portion 1 large sufficient for two generous helpings.

The newly refurbished chippy looks amazing, more floor space for the customers and such a variety of food, all lovely as I'm working my way through the menu!

This is a chipped that offers a wider range of food. However, I stuck to the basics and the chips were well cooked and a generous portion. Very busy when I visited but still good service.

We popped in for chips, or should I say we were dragged in by the fabulous smell, and weren't disappointed. Cute little chippy, mind your head on the way in! Good customer service, hot and fresh cooked food, well worth a visit.

Tried this takeaway for the firth time I had Fish and Chips my husband had the kebab both was good and generous portions the only disappointing thing was my husband salad on the kebab it only consisyed of lettuce and cucumber. But we will definitely try again.

I live in Bawtry, but try and make a point of driving over to Tickhill, as they have the slight edge in quality over the fish and chip shop in Bawtry.

It's forever changing management but seems to be all the same family, just never gets any better. One portion of chips would feed a family of 4 so most of them finish up in the bin, the batter is soggy and god know what kind of fish it's supposed to be, it might say haddock but I'm not convinced. Would rather travel elsewhere for my fish and chips

The best chippy :) Lovely service and fab food,not greasy at all and super tasty. They have a couple of little tables inside for those rainy days aswell.

Fish portion fairly good size. The chip portion was generous and very good quality. It may have been the fish the second time had been left too long in the warming cabinet.

Love this place wonderful fish and chips for me whilst my partner always raves about their kebabs. Staff see us going in and turn the kebab machine on ! Staff really lovely. Live at harworth and always still hot when get home unlike the ones in own village

I have been here several times and always found it to be good. The chips are very good and I can recommend the fish scallops that appear on their menu as fish fritters as these are very tasty.

Service was good and chips, like others have said, were plenty hot enough. Unfortunately however, the fish, albeit huge, was very greasy - hence the average rating.

This business is under new management who are Cypriot and the quality of food has improved since the last owners.The portions of chips are plentiful and are nice and dry not fatty like some chippies and on my last 5 visits most importantly hot.

We have avoided Tickhill Chippy for a long time but having re-visited in recent weeks the whole experience is so much better. Previously if we called after about 20.30 chips were past their best and extras such as peas, gravy, curry sauce etc. we're served from plastic jugs kept warm under lights.

We were very impressed with the quality of the food and cooking. Prices are also very reasonable. We had "small" portions which were freshly cooked and amply sized. Staff were friendly too.

Mick and Vasso took over a few months ago.I have been here several times.Excellent Fish and Chips and they also do Kebabs,Sausages,Fish Cakes,Southern Fried Chicken,Pies and Burgers.Mini meals at lunchtimes.There are a couple of seats inside.
