Had a wonderful takeaway with the family this week cannot fault reasonable prices everything cooked to perfection all fresh

Rate, we work t'other side of Rotherham. N t'be fair Ar Lass ain't been too well, off her food etc. So, I gerra "can we go to Conisbrough chippy? " "I like their peas." So, that's a 680mile jaunt! ( I may have exaggerated a little) Across country to Thurcroft, then side of M18 to Hellaby onto Micklebring,past Crookhill Park down the Hill to to get there, and another 782miles home.(ditto) reverse. direction Stainton n down South Wongs. Sorry I digress. But bhye their Pea Mix's ar lurverly. Good to see Ar Lass happy 😊 Funny how sometimes it's the simple things. So, if you are in the area, do ya sen a favour. Visit t'chippy we'll Worth the 45 gallon a diesel.

Probably one of my most favourite chip 'oles. Portions are perfect foods not greasy. Staff are lovely Superb indeed

Food is always good and the staff is friendly, never had any complaints in that regard. But sadly the food there has become so exorbitantly expensive lately that we will hardly consider this place as a food option anymore. The special used to be 4+ quid, meanwhile it's almost 6.50. Sad.

Quantity of a large portion isn't accurate as we only got no more than 20 chips definitely won't return food only just average.

They do a £5 meal deal which comes with a sauce of choice. Asked for the sauce in a small pot for dipping instead of being poured all over my food and was told no and id have to pay extra… Ridiculous and petty. Food was nasty too fish was over cooked and mostly batter.

£9.55 for fish and chips for 1 person!!! WOW! Absolutely ridiculous and the worst fish & chips I’ve ever had. Went straight in the bin. Not sure why I was charged £9.55 when fish and chips are shown as £4 on the menu??? Not to mention I gave £10.50 and was told I was still short??? Avoid

Treated myself to a chippy dinner & it was the best decision. Had lunchtime special and it was absolutely gorgeous. Everything was tasty. Been a few times now and each time has been very good. I would highly recommend this chip shop to any other within a 5 mile radius

#1 in Doncaster I've tried all the top reviewed in Donny and this has the best fish + chips. I travel around Doncaster a lot for work and it amuses me how Whitby's is ranked higher than this place...must be lack of reviews the Castle has.

Usually call once a week, never disappoints. Everything is fresh and tasty. The fish is always cooked perfectly and reasonably priced. The pic attached is just half a portion, fish chips battered sausage peas and curry sauce all for £9.20. Easily feeds two.

We get fiah and cjps every so often from here and decided to do so tonight. For the first time ever I regret that decision. The fish was OK, but the batter was soggy indicating it had been in the warmer for some time. In fairness this is the first time it has happened to me in the last 5 years The chips were also below the standard we have become accustomed to. My partner had pie and chips and was also disappointed with it. I will not let this stop me from going here as this was below the usually high standard.

The fish portions seem to be getting smaller each visit, which is a real shame as we all should be trying to shop locally. The Fish seemed like it came from a frozen box unidentifiable, non-specific type of random fish, very thin (almost paper thin), and really not good quality.

Great for a nice quiet drink, great atmosphere. Sam Smiths public house. Good location because you can finish off over the road at the indian restaurant Induz.

We ordered 3 x £4 fish specials. The fish was a good size with an adequate portion of chips and peas. All the food was well cooked and good value for money. 3 satisfied customers. we'll use this place again.

Best fish and chips I’ve had In a long time!

I’ve been so busy with moving house that one day I thought I’d tryout the local chippy. I was well pleased with my meal deal xx

Ordered the fish special for £4 which comes with small fish, chips and gravy. I expected the fish to be small but wow there was about 15 chips on my tray. The food was nice but far too small. If they are doing this to combat obesity in conisborough then it makes sense. If not then it's crazy, never had a fish meal anywhere with so few chips.

Castle Fish Bar are the best in Conisbrough village, been using them for five years now and never had an issue with quality, nice staff and good quality food. Happy Days 😀😀

Great staff/owner, but sometimes my friends and I can be left a bit shocked at the food quality. However the real shame is when its good I could eat the whole place out.

"Takeaway Friday" means a regular visit to Castle Fish Bar, always extremely busy speaks volumes for the Menu and Service on offer. What is really really nice is the very rare announcement of "Sorry waiting on Chips" all credit to Mr Fryer, don't know his name but very aimeable. Tonight my usual order for my very special wife of Chips, Fish Cake and Large Chip Shop Curry, less than £4 and keeps me in the good books !, the Young Lady who was not serving me had the "Order from Hell" £26 of Indecision with his "Wonderful Kids" interrupting at every opportunity, the other charming young Lady wrapped the Chips and Fish Cake and about to pour the Curry when her Colleague despite her "Customer from Hell" said "Got you that" and gave the curry to her "Teamate" to be wrapped, I commented "That's what you call Teamwork" to which they both replied "We are a Good Team " I could not agree more, especially impressive given a Full Shop and the usual moans and frustrations you get as People en route from work want to be fed !.Never had a poor meal, always Large Portions and a pleasant atmosphere and very reasonably priced. Conisbrough has a "Chippy" to be proud of......Well Done !

Friday afternoon and needed Fish and Chips, this was the first place I came to. Nice Chips, good fish cake, friendly staff.

There's something about the fish and chips that tells you this guy knows how to cook.

We ordered the fish specials and the fish was so dry, it's like it had been in the hot plate for hours!

Tasty and good value for money, light crispy batter fish, friendly staff , will definitely go again xxx

Visited the castle at Conisbrough and stopped at this Fish & Chip shop for lunch in the town. Great value we had small Fish Chips & Peas to take away and there was plenty. Good service and we didn't have to wait long.
