Tibo in Glasgow City

Rude member of staff - lost out on a sale because of attitude. Would love to come again but I'm put off by that behaviour.

Surprisingly lovely place. Staff friendly, professional & don't attempt to hurry you out the door. Food plentiful, good value & good quality. Be eating here again. Thank you guys

Lovely little spot for brunch. The food was presented nicely and was exactly what it said on the menu. I dropped a star simply cause it never really delivered anything WOW, but was still very present and good. The service was very friendly, polite and professional, everything you want and need to enjoy your time at a cafe. The atmosphere was nice, it was pleasant being able to hear my conversation and not have to shout about a noise, however some background music maybe have added to the ambiance. Overall a fantastic little spot in the heart of Glasgow's East end.

We decided to pop in for dinner and we got the cheeseburger and the sea bass. Both were amazing. The cheeseburger was one of the best I’ve have for a long while.

Had an absolutely spectacular Valentine’s evening at Tibo. Food and drinks were unreal, service from Phoebe and the team was 11/10. Easily our favourite local spot will definitely be back soon!

Have come for food and drinks on multiple occasions always a 5 star experience would give more if possible. Had the Valentines set menu and although there was a limited selection due to being a set menu - it seemed to be meticulously planned in order to cater to most people. The food was incredible one of my favourite places in Glasgow and definitely my favourite in the east end. Chef really knows what they’re doing and the service is top tier. Shout out to Pheobe who always delivers top quality service with a great knowledge of the menu and great drink recommendations. Thank you for a great experience!

En la primera instancia habíamos tratado de ir a este lugar para almorzar con algunos amigos y nunca había encontrado tanta grosería de un miembro del personal antes, hablando tan francamente y sin pensar. Después de patrocinarnos por no tener una reserva se quejó y fue a comprobar su horario para ver si había espacio para cuatro. En lugar de volver a nosotros como un SER HUMANO NORMAL y decir “tengo una mesa aquí para usted, pero lo necesitaría de vuelta para una reserva al final de la hora” nos dijeron “te necesito fuera en una hora”. Honestamente, me congelé al ver que alguien era tan grosero, solo respondí que nos iríamos a otro lugar. Y hoy mi compañera entró a tomar un sándwich (a regañadientes, podría añadir) para recibir un montón de gestos condescendientes con las manos y le dijo que se cerraron de nuevo en el mismo tono clientelar. Todo esto viene como una vergüenza masiva ya que habíamos estado allí para almorzar antes y lo pasamos muy bien. El servicio estaba inmaculado y eso es realmente todo porque este miembro del personal no estaba presente ahahah. Nunca volveré a un lugar así de nuevo, y el establishment podría deshacerse de este tipo porque es un arma absoluta. Que lo atrapen.

I have been coming to this this bistro since 2017 and it is still hands down my first choice, the quality of food never changes, always the best fresh ingredients and great taste, and the best full Scottish breakfast I've ever had. Fast, friendly service always with a smile and a joke. I will recommend this place until the day I die, if you haven't been already, definitely check it out.

Had friends staying and went out for meal after Xmas time . Bit disappointing with the food. No peas with fish and chips and the chips had black bits on them. Steak pie was dry and asked for gravy to which they had none but eventually they made some which was far too salty. Awful. The staff male was lovely and took something off bill which was decent. The girl waitress was none the wiser as to why we were mentioning these things. Don’t know if it was a culture thing or not.

Beautiful food with unique flavour combinations and a great friendly service and atmosphere! We had the pulled duck toastie (delicious), vegan stack (delicious), and the black pudding & duck burger (very delicious)...couldn't get pictures before half of it was gone! A gem in the east end - will definitely be back x

¡Por dónde empiezo! Nunca han sido tan decepcionados / desilusionados por la gestión en Tibo. Al entrar en Tibo nos preguntaron si teníamos una reserva, mi marido dijo que sí y dio nuestro nombre. La chica dijo que no había reserva bajo ese nombre para 4 . 30 pm. Nos dijeron que la única mesa disponible para 4 personas estaba en la puerta principal. Al minuto siguiente (creo que fue el gerente) apareció queriendo saber cuál era el problema. Le dijimos de la cuestión anterior. Fue muy grosero y arrogante con nosotros, exigiendo que tuviéramos un número de confirmación. Pasamos a explicar que habíamos llamado la semana pasada y la chica sacó detalles. Se puso muy furioso con nosotros. Mi esposo le mostró su registro telefónico de cuando llamamos a la fecha y hora solo para que me dijeran que eso no significa nada para mí. Luego declaró que se negaba a servirnos y a salir. Nunca estuvimos tan avergonzados como sus otros comensales escuchando lo que estaba pasando. Mi marido había reservado Tibo para mi 71 cumpleaños. Es la primera vez que a mí, a mi marido y a mis amigos nos han dicho que abandonemos un restaurante. Todos somos O.A. P. Hemos frecuentado Tibo en varias ocasiones a lo largo de los años y nunca hemos tenido ningún problema. Me temo que este llamado gerente requiere ir a un curso sobre modales / hospitalidad.

I came here full of enthusiasm for the soups I had tasted here and i w goid nreakfast. My plan with friend was to book a christmassy lunch. However, I was so disappointed to taste the most horrendous grissly steak/sausage pie with veg. I shared with owner that the (root) veg were undercooked and rubbery, and the meat/gravy had an unidentifiable awful flavour (as if balsamic vinegar or somethi g had been added. The owner offered me a complimentary coffee (what?) and I paid £12 for this horrible dish. Very disappointed in this treatment and dining experience 🥲. I agree with other reviewers that the young staff are a huge asset, really lovely, but the owner? Not good! He didnt seem to care about me as a customer.

Nice atmosphere, very clean and well cared for establishment. Lovely staff, the gentleman who served us was first class, but £12.50 for a toastie is just too much, especially when a generously sized main course is just a pound or two dearer. The chicken in the toastie was delicious, tender and flavoursome, and the bread was tasty, but steer clear of the 'american cheese' if you are actually expecting real cheese, it reminded me of kraft cheese slices only three times as thick and twice as fatty. A nice edam or gouda would have been preferable. All in all, nice food but go for a main course if you like value for money.

Actitud muy grosera de lo que supongo que era el gerente / propietario. Asumo que esto ya que cualquier otra persona con un servicio al cliente tan terrible no duraría un día. Fui a trabajar y obviamente esperaba pagar individualmente. El tipo nos dijo que no podemos pagar individualmente, ya que es demasiado “complicado”. Cuando se le informó que debería habernos informado de esto antes de ordenar, dijo que nos había informado - solo nos dijo cuando estábamos listos para pagar y no cuando habíamos llegado. Así que no sólo grosero, un encendedor de gas también. Cuando estábamos tratando de calcular el costo para cada uno de nosotros para evitar que ninguno de nosotros se quedara corto o tuviera dinero, le pregunté cuánto eran los cafés y me dijo que tendría que encontrar un menú y comprobarlo yo mismo. Nunca volveré aquí de nuevo.

Been a couple of times now and the food is nice but the customer service is strange, walked in to a lot of empty tables and was shoved into a cramped space next to a vending machine, next to 4 other people, asked to sit somewhere else and was told “no” ??

Tibo serve one of my all time favourite all day breakfasts in Glasgow. Their vegan all day breakfast is amazing. Great coffee & staff too. Love this place.

Been here a few times mainly for lunch as l love having the storno stack. Never had an issue with service and find the staff always friendly.

Best macaroni cheese in Glasgow

Really tasty food. The courgette, mint and pea soup was super tasty, balanced and thick. The b.r.a.t. toastie was very nice. The fish and chips super crispy with a nice sauce on the side. My favourite thing was the chai latte which was marvellous. The staff is super friendly. Would definitely recommend going here if you’re around.

Good food, great staff, friendly. Have eaten here several times and never been disappointed. The menu is varied and food is freshly prepared and well presented. Served by friendly staff. I would recommend Tibo to all. PS it’s now open in the evenings Thursday to Saturday with an evening menu.

The Best cheeseburger in Glasgow . It is funny that all these places that advertise Burgers, dont even come close to the quality of the Cheeseburger served here. Well done

My Daughter, daughter in law and myself just had breakfast here , what a fantastic little find ! The food tasted so good, the atmosphere and staff are super friendly and the service was brilliant nothing was too much for them , highly recommend tibo, although I'm sure you need to book first.. can't rate it highly enough, definitely be back

Friendly staff with lovely atmosphere and good food. The french toast was so fluffy and warm, delicious with plenty of bacon. The interior was lively and nicely decorated, with very attentive and nice staff.

Came to Tibo with my mum and our dogs. Loved my bloody Mary, wish I had another but had initially came for food which was missed as the kitchen closed at 4pm. Staff are super chill.

My son has a flat nearby so been here a few times. The food is always lovely and great coffee. Staff are very pleasant. It s always busy so has a good atmosphere.

Terrible. What a waste of money - dreadful. The staff need some training in customer service. Waited ages for everything and it was not even busy. Absolutely appalling attitudes. Everything seemed one big effort to them. Coffee was dire, food was average to say the least. Altogether not a pleasant experience. Dire.

We were Introduced to Tibo Bistro by two great Local Friends and as they'd suggested - it didn't disappoint. Great location, chilled vibe, lovely staff, welcoming atmosphere and of course - great food. Although We aren't from the area, we'll be back 👌🏼

Went a few times when visiting my mum - brilliant place and highly recommended. I just had the few toast with maple and bacon and it was top notch. Would recommend and will go again. 👍🏼

We visited this morning for Sunday brunch. We waited to be seen, as the sign at the entrance clearly requests. Although there was a ‘miscommunication’ with my husband and the timing of our booking (we arrived 30 minutes later than they expected us) we were met with a gracious host and good humour. We apologised for the confusion and were reassured with a very friendly manner and accommodated straight away. Service was great and each member of staff we encountered were fun, playful and a little tongue-in-cheek about our punctuality 😁 The food was amazing, we all had the Full Scottish Breakfast, each element was very tasty, nothing to fault, as our empty plates reflected. We would definitely return and will recommend to friends and family. My hurly burly husband particularly liked drinking tea from the dainty tea cup 😉 Thank you for a very enjoyable and entertaining dining experience!

Stay clear! What a rude outfit. I was meeting a friend and went in and sat at a table. A guy appeared and I was expecting him to show me a lunch menu or take an order. Only to be brusquely told - "you do NOT just walk in here and SIT DOWN! You have to see someone at the desk when you come in." I was flabbergasted and thought - he cant be serious - this is a cafe! I said I am meeting someone here and he then rudely said, "Well, DO you have a booking!" (The place was empty - it was lunchtime). I then said, " I don't know that and I also don't know you cannot just come in and sit down. Also that I find your manner tone and manner very rude". I got up and said you have just lost business. Take your custom and money elsewhere - this rude lot do not deserve a penny. Outrageous treatment of a customer.

The Vegan Breakfast was the best I’ve had to date, the sourdough bread was a nice surprise. My wife had the fish and chips and complimented them highly. The service was impeccable and the background music was enjoyable. We will definitely be visiting again !!

4 friends went on a busy Sunday afternoon so expected a wait but it felt very disorganised. Staff appeared stressed and after sitting us we were told there’d be a wait to take our order however a table of 5 were then sat and had their orders taken straight away. Overall we waited an hour and 15 minutes from being sat to getting our food. Not quite what we expected as had heard good things.

We've gone here for lunch several times and it's always been great.

One of our favourite spots in the East End. The brunch menu is amazing but we’ve also been in for dinner and drinks and the food is always delicious. The staff are all really friendly too, they always try to accommodate you even if you don’t have a booking. Highly recommend.

Friendly staff. Coffee tastes great. My current favourite on duke street. Food was yummy, not a huge fan of the toastie we got as the bread significantly out proportioned the filling, but will try again!! The eggs were delicious. 🤩 Definitely recommend.

We found Tibo and will definitely be back, service with humour (brilliantly cheeky) and excellent food. I can really recommend the filthy fries.

Lovely lunch, great relaxed vibe. Great range of food for vegans and non-vegans. Dog friendly but also considerate of those who may not like dogs. Can’t fault it at all. Fab, well done!

Came to Tibo for some Sunday lunch and we were so impressed and can't wait to come back. We were greeted by the loveliest member of staff (I didn't get his name but tall and blonde!) Who got us seated even though they were very busy. The service was so welcoming and there was alot of choice for food, brunch and coffee and drinks. The food was top quality and tasted lovingly homemade. The east end is the place to be for cute lunch spots. 😍

First time visiting this place…Travelled over an hour just to try it out and we were definitely not disappointed. Lovely place with delicious food and great service. Such lovely and friendly staff. Defo check this place out.

Popped in here yesterday morning for a breakfast. Brilliant service, food blew me away. Chef looked like a younger Tom kitchen, but fantastic food came out from his kitchen. Be back the next time we're visiting.

Fabulous butter chicken special and amazing service!!

I have recently moved to Dennistoun and happened to stumble upon this cafe a couple of weeks ago. I’ve been a couple of times now and not only is the service great but the coffee is outstanding, and today I tried a special butter chicken curry that they had on and I can honestly say it’s some of the nicest food I’ve had in Glasgow. Definitely would recommend to anyone in the area.

Food was great, but the delivery driver never buzzed my flat. He rang me and asked me to come down to the building entrance.. I did but he wasn’t there. He rang me again and said he was waiting on the road. I went back down and he had left the order outside my building. Food was still warm tho!

I had ordered delivery from here a few times and it was always really good quality. Decided to go in to the place and wish I had earlier. The staff are so nice and great chat and it’s a really nice venue. Would be great to see more places like this open in Dennistoun.

The best vegetarian/vegan breakfast around. Always get my breakfast here when I decide to treat myself in the mornings and never disappoints. There’s more food items in the vegan full breakfast than most other places in east end.

Nice coffee and good customer service

First time in Tibo I have been with some friends and I can say I was a bit disappointed first it was one guy that he was a bit rude and we told him we waiting 2 more people to join us and he seems not happy about that .. then another guy came that he was more polite but a bit cheeky.. the food came out quite fast but the best was overtoasted I couldn’t cut it even with my knife it was average, the prosciutto it was also solid then I ask for Tabasco and at the end I saw on my bill 0.40£ for Tabasco that I use 2 drops what a joke .. and the answer I got it was we need to pay for everything as the prices increased two streets down Mesa has Tabasco on a table and the quality of the food it’s much better without any extra hidden costs . I would not be back. Disappointing

Breakfast here is always a hit! The service is brilliant and the owner is always really nice and chatty. Love the loaded friends and the burgers are delicious. Cant wait to be back!
