Amazing chicken balls and egg fried rice. Stevo and Susan loved the food One downside is the children answering the phone but they do a good job and the food distracts me from the downsides

Okay we have used these for 6 years and until this year they were ok ish. Now for some reason they have 2 small boys serving and on the telephone. Not only should they not be serving customers but they are the nudist children I have ever spoken to. 😡😡😡

Went to order a take away, small child came to take our order, must have been bout 10years or less. Place served alcohol, So should t have been serving. Food came, tasteless, prawn in satay sauce. Was more like onions in stay sauce. There was few prawns but so many thick cut raw onions, Didn’t enjoy at all, There were tables for eating outside, but needs a good clean, wouldn’t have wanted to eat on them.

Delicious, lovely food made to a high standard in minutes. The downside is that you can only take away on that moment. However, when you take a bite of this food in your mouth, you forget about the downsides. The prices are really very low.

Having been a champion of this takeaway since it was opened, I was so disappointed to be refused delivery today( Saturday 7 th August). They said it was busy and they couldn’t fit us in. We have been having takeaways at weekends for many years and this had never happened before. It seems the holiday makers are keeping the one driver they have very busy. It would make sense in peak holiday times to increase your drivers in order to meet demand. That way you would be looking after your regulars, not just the holiday makers. Very disappointed that our custom appears to have no value. Let’s hope they have a long quiet winter. Ps. The food is great! The very loud , argumentative woman answering the phone is appalling. Tonight we went for a takeaway again but it was a big let down. 1/4 duck over done and dry/burnt like it had been left in a deep fat fryer. The prawn toast was burnt, the ribs overdone but chewy, not falling off the bone. It’s like they too had been in a deep fryer till hard. Not enough seafood in the seafood main dish . Very disappointing. That’s it now. We go won’t use them again. I suggest they get a new chef and buck their ideas up. There’s plenty of competition. £46.85 spent poorly.

Disgusted with their service this evening. Food ordered at 17.49 and was told delivery would be 18.45. Gave it a while as I expected they might be busy. Phoned at 19.10 to ask when my order was being delivered. No apology given I was just asked if I could collect! Would I have asked for delivery if I could collect? I have used this Chinese for years, not just for me but also my clients. Food was eventually delivered at 19.43! The delivery guy was lovely and couldn't be more sorry for the delay. I will no longer be using or recommending Tian Tian Xian for myself or my clients. There are other take aways that deliver on time!!

Efficient ordering, apart from they only take cash! Food ready when we collected, fresh and hot. Seaweed and house special fried rice especially good, however the chicken chow mien was tasteless and not enjoyable. Would order again but not the chicken chow mien.

Nice delicious food, although prices have gone up. So has become more expensive. Unfortunately. This Chinese is spoilt by a. Very inquisitive. English lady who takes orders. She. Wants to know where you live. What street. Your life history. All I want to do is go in say Hi and bye. And enjoy. Our food, not get Spanish inquisition. This lady wasn't there in winter months. Chinese. Are very capable. Of taking the orders and their young son. It's getting to stage where we may have to find a alternative. Chinese as don't like questioning. Absolutely disgusting attitude....after the stupid woman obviously made a mistake by telling us the wrong amount over the phone and 4 of us heard her she had the nerve to accuse me of ordering and not paying the full amount after always paying over the amount other times and even thinking I was giving them a tip...and the driver said I drove off before he counted the money but in reality I waited till he got in his car and then drove off before my dinner went cold....never again will I order from them again and I know many others that won't be ordering again....ruined our night with friends

The woman behind the counter really needs to attend a course in customer service. Her tone and attitude was completely unacceptable with no manners whatsoever and for no reason, We hadn't even opened our mouth to speak. So shocked by her rudeness we told her not to worry about ordering and left. Looking at the food hygiene rating of 1 requiring major improvements afterwards she possibly did us a favour. Certainly will not be returning.

Difficult inspection this one as the food received is very good and price acceptable but when spending £80 on an order for collection customers should receive what they ask for order taker polite when accepting 5 sweet sauces changed for curry sauces when opened back at base sweet and sour to all 5 and a missing extra curry which was charged for TianTian food is good but ordering and communication for collation of the order requires work

Went to take away on 17.7.2020. Put a order in at 1045 thinking chinese closed at 11.30 took order said closing at 110, then hung up thought bit rude. Friend went in to collect and pay. Came back said no change. So i went back inside to say short on change. A very rude english woman blonde hair with black roots there. Insistant gave correct change. Went asked friend not true. So went back this woman had a lift waiting outside. Abruptly she said closed. Si i tried door she then followed said to a chinese man give her change. Then started lsughing like im being petit. No customer service why chinese have employed such a rude unfriendly person to serve i do not know. Her body lanuage appaulling attitude. Nit sure if changed management since last season. If woman had of been honest said ran out of change or come back tomorrow and collect or knock of order next time would of understood. But lieing messing customers around not good. Spoke to someone about this and apparently lady has funny attitude with others and nasty to her delivery driver. Think chinese will loose business putting a worker like her on. Please get rid of her and put someone polite friendly on. Food i had was very nice nithing wrong with it. Just hastle and abuse before getting it. So no customer service even if chinese speak no English cant be worse than this english women who served us

Worst customer service we have ever experienced, due to food intolerance have ordered same meal every day this week, tonight given wrong order when I queried this was told it was what I had ordered, girl on counter said I was a liar and to f... off, well I hope her boss reads this and takes action to give appropriate training in manners .

Placed an phone order whilst walking home with the kids, called in and collected it every thing seemed pleasent. Got home order was wrong, This type of thing is usually easily rectified in a takeaway and I was willing to pop back down to the shop to change the order but instead i was accused of lying, i asked to speak to a manager told there was none working and then the phone hung up. Walked down had an slight altication with said member of staff, again asked for the owner with the same response (was not in and couldn't speak English) . Two minutes later strangely the owner appeared from the kitchen and I finally got a refund. I am new to the area and ordered multiple times the same order within this week. Food is usually not bad but the lack of customer service will not see me back again.

The food was excellent along with the customer service. My only reason for dropping a star is that it is cash only. Though by the time I found an outlet open to get the cash out my order was ready. Its just a little inconvenient when a great deal of people no longer carry cash on them

Would rather set the £18 it cost on fire never had anything as bad just tried it as lee on is shut but will never order from here again the chow mein was extreamly dry and rubbery pork balls had never seen any pork and the batter was rubbery the gravey tasted like hot soy sauseand every thing we order was well over cooked

Has a family meal form here during a recent holiday, would highly reccomend, possibly the best chinese take away we have ever tasted.

I am diabetic so have to plan all my meals.I had planned to have a chinese meal from this takeaway we saw the reviews and thought it looked good!! I called them to place my order for delivery as we are staying in a caravan park they asked me for my postcode i said i didnt know but would go on line and try to find it. I called them back after I spent the time to find the postcode to then be told "Sorry we dont deliver to any holiday park!!!! Its a new decision my the new owner/manager I am quite angry and upset and hungry!!

Ordered lemon chicken with egg fried rice, also asked if they did extra lemon sauce but they said no so ordered sweet & sour. When we got the food home the lemon sauce was in a separate container!!!!!! not sure why you can't purchase another one. Will enquire next time. The chicken was tasty and succulent

Always get our takeaways from here when visiting Mablethorpe and have always enjoyed them. The beef curry is particularly good and the set menu for two is great value. I only wish they did proper onion rings, rather than the frozen type and then it would have been a score of 5!

Fancied our first Chinese since moving here 3 months ago. Tried 3 takeaways who said they didn't deliver, so rang Tian Tian Xiang unsure as to whether they did takeaway or not. They did and also delivered at a cost of £6 which we wouldn't usually have paid but as we both had a drink earlier in the afternoon couldn't risk driving to collect. Well what can I say about the food. Absolutely delicious, best Chinese takeaway I've ever had. Can't wait to visit the restaurant itself for the real deal. Both of us were delighted we'd had a drink and couldn't drive or else we'd have travelled elsewhere to collect and missed this golden opportunity!!

Both the takeaways we have had during our stay have been fantastic, lovely food, delivered hot ( which is a moan of mine from other food places ) to the place we are staying, one of the nicest meals I have had, food 5 stars

Always amazes me how a so called "chef" can send out chips that are not fresh! How hard is it to cook fresh chips for God sake. They looked like they had been cooked the day before. Absolutely disgusting. Should be ashamed! "CHEF"!

We've had a number of takeaways from here when on holiday in Mablethorpe and have never had a bad one yet. Curry is lovely and spicy and very tasty. We also had chow mein and the special fried rice and again these were good. Portions are generous. We probably wouldn't dine in the restaurant but as a takeaway it's good.

We visit around 3/4 times a year during our holiday and it never disappoints, gorgeous tasty food and great value for money, large portions very filling, it's dated and not the best inside the restaurant, but carnt fault the food,friendly helpful staff!

Ordered a Chinese here, was told on the phone it would be about 45 minutes. 1 hour and 15 minutes later it still had not arrived so I called and asked how much longer it would be. I was told it would be one minute they’re just sending it out now with their delivery driver. 45 minutes later I saw the delivery driver pull up outside the house across the road from me and take the food to their house. But by this point I’d given up and was already on the phone to cancel my order because 2 hours wait is ridiculous. We understand that it may be busier because of the peak season but as locals who are the ones who keep their business open all year round we don’t expect to wait 2 hours for our food!!!

I chose a chicken curry with fried rice but found the chicken to be not so meaty as if it had been impregnated with water to bulk it up. They offered me 2 sizes of rice. The small was sufficient for me. I've had better Chinese curries.

When we visit Haven, we HAVE to order from here, its the best chinese ever, beats Peterborough everytime. Nothing is too much trouble, we have it delivered to the caravan, always on time, friendly drivers. Any chance of opening a shop in Peterborough??

My family visited Mablethorpe on Bank Holiday Monday and made an inpromptu decision to go into Tian Tian Xian for our tea, after looking at the menu outside.

Have tried all the Chinese takeaways in mablethorpe and Sutton on Sea. We have found this is the best value for money and tasty food. Excellent friendly service. Highly recommended.

dont normally review but visited here and expected a half decent meal. The place needs a good refurbishment and general updating. The drink stock was limited (we asked for 3 different drinks and they did not have) we ordered the food and it took ages and was cold when it arrived, plus we did not all get served at the same time. Price was to high for the meal, on the plus side the one member of staff we saw was pleasant.

Myself and a friend went for a meal , decor was to be desired you have to look past it as food is good quality and lots of it, you will wait 20 minutes to have your order taken though that's what we experienced and we were the only people in the restaurant, the owners were moaning sat in the restaurant about being disqualified from driving and insurance being cancelled - great when you're out for a meal haha

by far the 2nd best takeaway we have ever had in our life. they had crammed the containers full so no air gaps like you get in other places, gave us free crackers and all staff were polite and friendly, if we lived closer would be 30 stone!!!

Had a takeaway from here and sat in restaurant waiting. Food was ok, fried rice was burnt, decor in restaurant is grimy, dust everywhere, filthy carpet, would not go again even for takeaway, better ones in Mablethorpe

My husband loves Chinese (personally I'm not a great lover of it)I often call here to get a take away delivered for him so when friends came in May we called in for a take away and I was shocked at the state of the place.Dirty,smelly I felt embarrassed I had taken people in there to order food.Young children belonging to the family (that should have been in bed)were expected to play in the restaurant whilst their parents worked.Our order was totally mixed up,the food was greasy and my friends were badly disappointed.When I rang to complain the gentleman was not perturbed at all .I'm glad my take away was an Indian.A Birthday treat ruined.

Cannot understand the bad reviews. We use their take away service very regularly (awful,I know haha!) and their staff are lovely on the phone, delivery always arrives on time, even before! Portion sizes are excellent. We always have a laugh with the driver. Reasonably priced, delicious food, great communication. The only Chinese we use now!

Where to start, no atmosphere. Service was very basic, staff more interested in taking phone orders for take away- delivery was 1-1.30 hours unless you were a regular then it was 20-30 minutes!Decor was basic, entire place needed a good clean. Children's push bikes piled up in entrance to toilets. Couldn't use ladies (no lights) Cash payments only, in 2016???

Went here for a family meal was not impressed at all the food was OK service was OK but there. Was no atmosphere at all and the place needs a good deep clean

Far from impressed and the atmosphere, level of service and most of all the quality of service. This was a second visit requested by friends. First time was not happy. The food is not authentic enough and there were more family and friends and staff eating that customers.

Felt slightly peckish so ordered more than usual (9 things off menu + prawn crackers) It is Chinese year of the pig isn't it?Actually it's year of the monkey, my mistake.All dishes were well cooked, hot & tasty as usual. There was really enough for four people & suffice to say there was some left for the next day. I see they've painted over the grubby bits but only on one side of restaurant though, the paint brush never made it to the other side.Think TA should add another circle as rating jumps from 'average' to 'very good'. Should be able to rate 'good' as I am in this case.

we ordered salt and pepper chicken wings,very nice, spare ribs in bbq sauce I don't know what sauce they used it wasn't bbq they were horrible, and the most important one we ordered boiled rice as my wife is very allergic to eggs , and we got egg fried rice, partly our fault we should of checked, but who does? on a positive note the mixed meat curry was very nice, so check what you have ordered before you go.

Restaurant looks in need of some TLC and not particularly inviting. However we were advised that the food was good from here and well worth trying as a take away. Probably not the best idea we have had. Food was bland and tasteless. Also surprising how the bill mounts when u order a selection of dishes for a few people. Not a good experience.

Went to Tian Tian for a take out meal but as I waiting couldn't help noticing the filth in the restaurant area. Started to get quite concerned whether the kitchen was as bad as what I could see? Took my meal home & to be honest it was nice, did cost £28.40 for two but had a fair bit left to eat the following day.I contacted the council's food hygiene agency who informed me that Tian Tian only have two stars for hygiene! Didn't know this as their certificate is not displayed as most other food outlets do by the entrance. But the agency officer did assure me the kitchen is ok & there is nothing to worry about. I'm amazed that hygiene standards are not carried through to the restaurant area which is used as the owners living/dining room! I do like the food here though so will probably continue ordering my take out from here maybe with some caution.

We had a large family (12+) take away that cost £105 . It was quite excellent really and worth the money with plenty of variety and quality. It was speedily ready for pick up.

Food looked like it was reheated from the night before (or even the night before the night before) it tasted like it had been cooked in dirty grease and was hard, dry and tasteless! Will NEVER have a takeaway from here ever again! I would give them no stars if I could!

It seems that they have a poor sence of time here. On multiple visits we have been told that our meals will be a 10 minute wait to collect. We often allow 15 minutes and then on arrival we are told that there is a further 5-10 minute wait! We are often then told that we were the first ticket. Which I don't see as an excuse. Not happy at all!

Decor in restaurant was old and outdated and it had more like the feel of a transport cafe then a Chinese restaurant. 3 of us went and all ordered starters... plus 1/2 crispy aromatic duck with accompaniments plus some main meal dishes. I knew we were in trouble when the waitress brought up the crispy duck with said accompaniments and proudly announced "hot and spicy" soup which surprised us as my wife was supposedly already eating it....and her soup was neither hot or spicy.. when we queried with the waitress she disappeared straight back to the kitchen and then came back 5 mins later to announce it was not hot and spicy soup but plum sauce for the crispy duck!! In her defence she did say it was her first night on the job, but notwithstanding her faux pas the food was absolutely tasteless and dry.... none of us finished our meals, the crispy duck was dry and we left most of it, none of us completed starters or mains.Needless to say if we are ever in the area again we will not be paying this place a visit.I have to say that whilst we were there the phone never stopped ringing and takeaway and delivery orders were taken non stop. Make of that what you can.

Never been before never going back either .Décor dirty and scruffy, went in for sit down meal what a mistake waitress didn't know what day it was had no idea on drinks or food waited ages for meals which were very poor like I say never again .

Order from here for take away on regular basis and as always it was very nice all fresh and promptly delivered nice and hot.

Seriously, this place does the best chow mein I've tasted it's great. The food is authentic also and lots of selection. I used these when they were on the front but the new premises is bigger and clean. I recommend this place if you like Asian cuisine. Love it!

Peking spare ribs were mainly bone & not cooked properly. Noodles fried in old oil you could even taste it, possibly refried. I rang up and they denied there food could possibly be this bad, it was only when I turned up with the food in a rubbish bag did he finally start taking notice. They refused at first to give us a refund on to our card at first for our order until the other customers what we're not from round here started to rethink about dining here. We eventually got our refund however not on the card but cash.DO NOT EAT HERE AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Ordered food to take away. the standar of which was terrible. The food was cooked in old fat and tasted awful. The King prawns were old and slimey. I find it difficult to believe that the people who are raving about this restaurant have ever eaten there. My advice stay away!

Always visit here for a take away every time we come to Mablethorpe, good value and excellent food, would highly recommend.

We are on holiday at Golden Sands ... we had a menu delivered today at the caravan, so we decided to try it for tonights dinner ... delivery was quick, exactly half hour as stated. And my god it was the bomb !!! Even better than my local and thats a hard come by.Will def be back when visiting area again, also recommended you to my friend who`s visiting Golden Sands in August !!!

Went for a sit down meal however my mind changed when I entered the place from the dirty finger marks on the front door to the jumble sale looking interior,one table was set for a meal,by this I mean there were cutlery on the dark dirty looking table but no tablecloth or anything you'd expect in a restaurant,with cables hanging out of the ceiling and the young English boy in his hoodie serving you'd be at a loss as to what you've just walked intoGot a takeaway in the end which was a very tasteless red sweet chicken dish with little sauce,if you like Chinese food then find somewhere where they respect the fact youre paying for their food

The takeaway from here is nice but the restaurant could do with updating. Staff nice and polite. A little out of town.

We visit Mablethorpe every year or so and usually get a Chinese takeaway on the high street. Last week we found this one, which is a little out of town, but the quality of the food is exceptional and the prices no more expensive. We had spare ribs, foo yung and chow mein, and all three dishes were the best we have ever tasted. They do deliver (for a charge) but we just ordered over the counter and only had to wait five minutes. Not the most attractive area or decor, but the food is superb. Won't be going anywhere else in future!

We ordered a take away from here and went and collected. The food was fine but what I'm not sure about is the place as a restaurant. Really wish we'd had delivered. Scruffy looking and feeling, in desperate needs of a coat of paint. Doesn't help that the room was being used as a kids play area with toys and bikes all over. Furniture was dated and not set out for eating. If we'd gone for a meal would of turned straight around and left. Would suggest it sticks to being a take away and forgets the restaurant part.

As we were driving round Mablethorpe we thought we would pop into Tian Tian Xian for our tea. Never again. We decided to eat in which is possibly the worst decision. The room is dirty and unclean, from the very start I knew the experience was not going to go well. When we got asked what drinks we would like from the menu they then told us they didn't even have what any of us requested so settling for second best we continued looking at what we would like to eat. When the drinks arrived I had a white substance down the side of my glass, quite clearly I was not prepared to drink it. Whilst two of us decided we didn't want food one of us ordered two different options from the menu. One of the orders was incorrect and the other had a hair on. Totally unacceptable not to mention the fact the price was high for what we had actually ordered. I cannot comment on the take away options but I would stay away from eating in.

We celebrated the (Chinese) New Year with a fabulous takeaway from Tian Tian Xian. The food was delivered early, beating the estimated 35 minutes by 10 minutes, but we are very local to the premises. It arrived piping hot and in very generous portions. Five people were full to bursting after sharing 3 starters, 4 mains and 2 noodles, with leftovers! Every single dish was delicious but the kung po chicken was outstanding. We'd recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys good takeaway.

Ordered a takeaway on Mon evening, as always ring order through then pickup.As always in my experience anyway, yet another nice meal, didn't have much this time just sweet & sour chicken, chicken chowmein, special fried rice, pancake roll & banana fritter.All very tastey as usual. The only criticism is the state of the place, why anyone would eat there is beyond me. At least three of the tables were covered in stuff, paperwork & the delivery bags they use. Their little boy was running around & ran straight into me. I do wonder what the kitchens like when the so called restaurant is such a mess & in need of decoration? But I will still get my takeaway from here, ignorance is bliss!

Have been using this take-a-way since it opened & all ways found it Ok for what you pay. I suspect that all the pe-cooked food is microwaved to order, I could be wrong but doubt it.What I wouldn't do is eat in as the menu appears to be the same as take out just a bit dearer. The main reason for not eating in is because it is so shabby & tired looking, the restaurant area is used as the owners living area/dining room. Often seen are the owners or staff eating at the table at the back, sometimes table covered in paperwork but worse is their kids eating or playing in the restaurant. They've even got a fridge inbetween the tables. Don't think they are expecting anyone to eat in. Obviously don't know how to present the restaurant to the public.

Ok so we had takeaways and eat out alot while we have been stopping at golden sands so we have visited alot of food establushments in mablethorpe. To but it bluntly it just was not very nice and it wasnt busy so couldnt see any excuses. delivery took 55mins when told 25-30minsFunny thing i noticed on here too is the 4 star review 2 below mine dated 13/10/14 is actualy suppose to be for China Rose as there resturant is upstairs and this one is ground level. Wouldnt come again to this place

OK first I don.t normally complain to the www about bad restaurants - however for this establishment the exception is needed.... firstly only hot tea was available and a limited amount of cold drinks, I admit the starters whilst perhaps not as advertised were OK, then came the main course (four in the party) 2 came out then a wait of about 5mins came the 3rd some 10mins after the first the four came. Was it worth waiting for 'hell no' it was supposed to be beef chow mien - more like noodles with greasy end bits of beef. The duck fried rice on meal 1 was or seemed/tasted micro waved, the lemon chicken in fairness was OK albeit very thin and not over proportioned. The only saving grace however was not ironically Chinese but an English dish that was the 1/2 chicken -that was indeed cooked very nice.....

Fantastic Chinese cuisine with friendly staff. You may miss this place walking past as it is upstairs but please make the effort to go as you will not be dissapointed.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable meal from start to finish.This isn't a posh establishment......but it is somewhere where you will be made to feel welcome, be served with a smile, and most importantly be served very decent food with generous portions at reasonable prices.We will defiantly be returning, and on leaving took a takeaway menu, as felt the food was far better quality than our local one.I can highly recommend the wonton soup and seafood special in oyster sauce which even contained a scallop, and the squid was not rubbery either.....always a sign of a good chef......I have eaten in many so called posh resteraunts in the past that didn't get it this right.......so well done to all *******A special mention too, to the lovely young man whom took our order, served us with a smile, and was both attentive and accommodating, despite it being a Saturday night and he was very busy with takeaway orders......(always a good sign).....we felt he multi tasked well********

What are people complaining for. i come every friday and saturday. occasionlly on a saturday delivery is a bit long but the because of the holiday makers out of season my foods here within 15 mins. and if people are really that hungery and dont want to wait delivery times go pick it up its ready in ten mins. so for me this is the best chinese in mablethorpe.

Utterly Dissapointed. we had a chinese in the other chinese resturant in mablethorpe that was exceptional but this week there waiting time was too long for an order so we thought we would try here. We both said afterwards we eished we waited the 2 hours because this place was discusting and thats being polite. food was salty and overly seasoned and just tasted awfull we had chicken black bean and sweet and sour chicken and we had never had such a bad chinese before. i wouldnt go here again even if it was for free. OVOID

This chinese was recommended to us by a local and it didn't disappoint. It was reasonable priced too. I would recommend the chicken and sweetcorn soup!

We ordered a takeaway to be delivered on the 12th august we put in quite a large order as there was 6 adults. We ordered 2 chicken chow mein, 2 large egg fried rice, 1 chicken balls with sweet and sour sauce, 1 pork balls with sweet and sour sauce, 1 crispy shredded beef, 2 salt and pepper chicken prawn crackers and chips. The chow meins tasted burnt they had been cooked far to long and I would say there was only a few strips of chicken in there. The chicken balls were not nice at all they tasted like they had been warmed up in the microwave and were like rubber. The batter wasnt crispy that was like rubber too. The pork balls were the same and only two of them were pork. These come with one small pot of sweet and sour there should have been two as these are two seperate dishes and the tub was very small not like other chinese takeaways where you get large tubs. The egg fried rices that were sent were small portions and hardly no egg in them. The prawn crackers were the smallest bag I have ever known a chinese to sell. Salt and pepper chicken and shredded beef were only average. When you are paying 46 pound and even give a 5 pound tip for delivery this is not acceptable. Is this even a chinese restaurant that is ran and food cooked authenically? We called the restaurant and said we would bag all the food up as we left this and were dissapointed and would like a refund which they gave us. When we visit mablethorpe again we will not be ordering from this restaurant.

We have had plenty of take aways from here and every single one of them had been utterly gorgeous. Although through busy time the waiting period can be a little too long the food is brilliant. As well as being quite reasonably priced.

We had a rather disappointing time here, but I'd like to balance that by saying we didn't go in till around 9.30 on a Saturday evening, when there was only one member of staff and all the takeaway orders were coming in, so we understood that they were busy.The place obviously does very well as a takeaway as the phone never stopped ringing and the food we ordered was very tasty, but I think they could probably focus on being a restaurant OR a takeaway, as they seemed a little understaffed to do both. Our sit down meal suffered due to the demands of the takeaway orders coming in.We didn't want to complain to the waiter who served us, as he was literally the only one there doing any serving. When we first walked in two of the tables were already occupied by paperwork and delivery bags, and the remaining ones to be seated at were covered with dirty dishes and napkins and hadn't been wiped off. It was a bit of a state, but there was nowhere else near to eat so we sat down and waited, and the staff were very apologetic.Looking at the menu we could see all kinds of confusion. In the one I had the set meals were marked as one price, and in my boyfriend's they had been scribbled out and marked as another (in the final bill, it was even more expensive). There were several things crossed out in mine that were not in his, and little notations all over the drinks menu which we could hardly make out. I would advise asking when you order!We waited rather a long time for our starters, and the table was still a bit sticky with a pushchair shoved up in one corner. The waiter forgot our drinks as he was so busy answering the phone, and then he brought my boyfriend's over and I had to wait another 15 minutes for mine. The food, when it came, was excellent. We had a set meal with soup, duck pancakes and two main meat dishes with special fried rice and it was all very tasty. We had to wait a long time between courses, however, and when we ordered more drinks they were also forgotten until we had finished the meal. There was no music playing, the phone rang constantly, the one lady was yelling into the kitchen constantly, and another sat at the back table doing the accounts loudly and slamming down receipts and clacking on the calculator. The décor was very shabby and outdated. I felt rather bad for the one man who had to take care of everything himself, and was very forthcoming with apologies for the service. All in all, we had a rather lousy time here, even if the food was good, so I would recommend this place as a takeaway only. Or perhaps (as there are also very favourable reviews for this place) we came on a night they were short-staffed.

absolutelty minging interior for a restaurant.thank god i got take away lolfood was absolutely awesome,great flavours and tasted fresh.dont judge a book by its cover because to be honest this place was a real surprise.

Went to china rose initially and having waited an hour and a quarter to have our order taken after booking a table we walked out and came here! Service and food all good no complaints, however I think the outside view and decor probably puts people off as we were only people in the resturant! Whilst there, phone did not stop rining for takeout which must be a good sign!! Definitely in need of decorating but can not fault the food!! Would defo recommend.

Don't let the external view put you off eating here. We had the set meal for two which was delicious and great value for money. The young man serving was friendly, polite and helpful. Highly recommended.

restaurant needs a total makeover,been here 3 years on the run with my hubby and its getting worse every time we visit.but on the other hand the food is outstanding,its so yummy me and hubby had a takeaway twice in one week on our holiday last week we had.pork curry,chips,sweet n sour prawn balls & egg fried rice,large containers and plenty to share.the second time we went we opted for the set meal for 1.we got,2 small spring rolls,6 sweet n sour chicken balls,small egg fried rice and beef with green pepper & black bean sauce.this meal was plenty for 2 people tp share,way to much for 1 person and great value at £8.50.lovely meals good prices,just wish they would spend some of there taking on doing the place up.thumbs up to the food tho and will go again when back that way.

We popped into this small restaurant / takeaway to order take out. The building is very tired and in bad need of decoration however the food was very good. Would use again for take out only.

Can't fault the food at all but the premises are tired and dated. Use for the occasional take away and have always been well satisfied with the quality and service.
