To be honest it was a lot better than I was expected. Poor chief was on his own so slightly on the slow side but food was good. They did seem to be running out of everything by 8pm but then it was a Sunday night.

On arrival the restruant was open with nobody serving, the cooked breakfast on the first morning was very cold because the heating lamps were not working and the food was still left there for the guest to eat even though the chef was aware of this. On the second day breakfast was still cold even though the lamps were working. Overall the atmosphere wasn't great but there was one member of staff on the second day who did apologise for the day before but unfortunately the breakfast was still cold, I would not return here again.

Very tasty food. They took the time to prepare it really nicely. Good prices too. We all loved it. Even the fussy kids loved it. Will definitely visit again next time we're in Coniston. Highly recommended.

1 Stock LaneWe stopped in here for drinks this past weekend. Pub with a great atmosphere, but the beer was average at best. Good service. We did enjoy the visit (just not the beer—-maybe because we are from Prague and have great beer). Seating inside and outside. Cozy place.

Red Bank RoadStaff not very helpful and appeared to almost discourage the potential booking for dinner. Entered after a walk for a beer (4pm ish) and enquired about availability for a table at 8pm, told that all tables fully booked. When passing at 8pm noticed that most tables were free and then became aware that last food orders were 7:30pm, why couldn’t staff just state this earlier🤷♂️. Get the impression that this bar trades on continued tourist turnover with little concern for repeat custom.
