Chilli Red in South Lakeland

Ordered food from Chilli Red tonight. Meals were great, tasty, good size portions. 5 stars to the young man taking orders behind the counter. He was really polite, helpful and had a great telephone manner. Thanks.

Never disappointed, always lovely and the portions are superb

Normally chilli red ticks all the boxes however this time the food was not up to scratch. Paid for ribs to recieve 6 of the tiniest ribs iv ever seen. The soup was gloupy. And the noodles tasted reheated. Don't get me wrong il try again but this once it was not nice food.

Great tasty food at a reasonable price. Good service and food was cooked quickly and was piping hot. Would recommend for anyone in Grange or nearby to give them a try

One of the best takeaways I’ve had. Singapore chow mein good and spicy hot with fresh chilli, beef and king prawn curry very nice with tender beef, fried rice was very good. Others in my party also had very high opinion of their meals. Have not rated atmosphere as it’s a takeaway.

Best chinese in the lakes hands down. And the spare ribs are the best I have ever had. Beef Curry, Singapore noodles, and salt n pepper chips it beautiful

This is probably some of the best Chinese I have had in this area. So good. The salt and pepper chicken and the salt and pepper selection were. Outstanding

We are here on holiday. There wasn't much open on our first night so we thought we would have a Chinese takeaway. We were very pleased. The meals were very tasty, and piping hot. It was so nice we went the following night and tried something different. Again, very tasty and piping hot. Throughly enjoyed our meals. Thank you.

Worst Chinese takeaway we have ever had. The ribs were burned, the beef in okay sauce was not sliced beef but miniscule strips of something in a thick hard batter with sauce ladled on top. Chicken sweet and sour, dreadful Illuminous sauce and ‘chicken’ tasted odd. Will never go back.

ordered prawn crackers salt and pepper ribs and soft fried noodles all awfull 2 of the ribs had no meat on them the noodles tasted old and over cooked as did everthing in them so I phone the place that night but they had allready closed so I then phone the nexst day to give them a chance to be told no such order was made that night and was I sure I placed the order in other words called me a liar

Only been the once but very nice. Had a chilli chicken and fried rice. Loads of meat and chunky veg, and a nice tasting sauce. Good portion size.

Was really nice had a sharing box and the red crispy chilli beef girl was lovely who served us and very helpful.

Staying in the area on holiday and we are only a 3 minute walk away, we couldn’t be bothered to get dressed and go sit and dine in a restaurant or pub so opted for a takeaway, one of the best Chinese takeaways we’ve even had! Partner even said it was better then our local back home! Chicken fried rice was amazing! The chicken has a nice flame/charcoal taste from being cooked on a grill which was lovely! My partner is particularly fussy when eating meat he had the salt and pepper chicken and said there was no “hard or chewy bits at all” Great portion sizes Fresh food taste great 100 % recommend

We ordered a take away from chilli red whilst on holiday in Grange. I suppose it being ready ten minutes after we ordered it should have been the red flag we didn't see. Each dish was virtually indistinguishable from each other...full of this vile brown gravy like sauce. The only thing we could accurately identify was the rice. I'm serious. We have never seen such strange `Chinese` food. Very disappointed with the outcome for our meals. Staff require customer service training immediately. To avoid disappointment, go somewhere else.

Please avoid! I would rather not write this review, I would expect management to sort out any issues but they failed to so. The staff are rude and arrogant, they miss parts of your order off and tell you to come back and they’ll reheat it for you. No thanks. Avoid.

For a small town this is quite a decent Chinese takeaway. Food good and well cooked. Loses a star because not everything is available on menu. Never had a bad takeaway so must be alright

1st time here I wish it was in barrow not Grange it was absolutely gorgeous 10/10 I had chicken mushroom n chips loads of sliced chicken breast in there and sauce was lovely friend had pork chow mein and she ate the lot it looked really tasty again lots of sliced pork would definately recommend this chinese to anyone, and I am fussy lol :-)

Unpredictable opening times ruin an otherwise good Chinese

Made a large order to feed a lot of guests at our house and it was ready in 15 minutes as promised.the quality of the food was excellent and the price very reasonable

Everything was perfect. Best Chicken Ginger & Spring Onion ever. Good service, food piping hot after 10 minute journey, large portions, amazing prawn crackers. Wish I lived nearby.

After reading the answer of the owner to a bad review you can see that this place is joke. Blaming it on the customers 100% and revealing things that happened OUTSIDE the restaurant that are personal on a feedback response. That just points out how bad the place is. Along with Verena Philips comment we did write everything down on the phone before ordering it, maybe if the woman on the phone was nicer the whole process would have been easier, and when you order something on the phone before hanging up she should confirm what the person has ordered Maybe she needs customer service training! And this is coming from someone who had it so you do no need to argue with me on this. And I chose not to have the item that was missing cooked because we did take longer to pick up the order and I apologised as I was walked in. Also you do not accept cards otherwise would be much easier to pay everything by card. That’s why it took longer to get cash out. We were on the phone using the calculator since your employee did not manager to do it herself and it was making such a big deal when I asked on the phone BEFORE if we could have paid separate. And funny how you apologise for YOUR mistakes but still blaming it on us, I’m curious to see what you’ll reply to me here what you’ll chose to post here as your final part of verena’s answer was disclosing something personal What will you pick to disclose here? The food wasn’t cold it was horrible, doesn’t match with the ratings, the sauce was terrible do not recommend, specially to someone who’s expecting someone nice to be on the counter.

Terrible experience. Woman on the phone was extremely rude. Very sassy, and talked down to me and my friend. Got to the take away to get our food, found items were missing from the order. The girl again huffed because she had to do her job, so disrespectful. So we decided not to add something we did ask for, the service was disgusting and I would not recommend them. When we walked the manager stopped us loudly saying wait payment missing, in front of other, he realised he was mistaken and let us go. When we tried the food, all the food was soggy, the chicken was raw and the prawns were not what we ordered. Overall terrible experience. All the food is in the bin now, such a waste.

Really lovely food. Not typical takeaway cuisine... much better quality than most places I've been before. The lovely chap in charge was very helpful and even catered for our gluten free needs and amended dishes to suit which were delicious. Brilliant value for money too. Very highly recommended. Thanks.

Best Chinese I've been to, staff are smiley and food is a high standard compared to many Chinese takeaways, along with a modest price.

One of my fave Chinese takeaway's. Decent menu selection, food always served piping hot and I'm yet to find something that's not cooked well or unpalatable. Well worth paying a visit!

Me and my family have gone to this takeaway for years. Not once have we been dissapointed in the hundreds of times we've gone. I worked there for a long time and got to see how nice of an establishment it is from the inside and how much the manager cares about his customers satisfaction no matter what. I've moved 5+ hours away and miss the food from chilli red every time I get a Chinese, it's just never as good. Friendly, polite staff who always care about their customers is something you don't seem to find in Chinese takeaways down here either. I always make sure to get a Chinese when I'm up north to satisfy that voice begging for my usual. I highly recommend to anyone because it honestly is the most amazing food!! 💖
