Good food nice service very nice atmosphere

The food I was served today did not match the price bracket charged. I had the chicken bites starter which were very hard and chewy, not very nice at all. The steak was tasteless and bland. My husband had soup and then cheese pie which he said was ok. The bill with drinks came to £50 per person (we did have quite a few drinks!), but the food offer is not up to the standard you would expect for the money. We eat out regularly in the area and won’t be returning here.

Food wasn't great, been before and had always had a lovely meal. So was dissapointed on this occasion. 2 of us had seabass and 2 had the fish, chips and peas. The fish batter wasn't great birthday we're the peas.

I visited for lunch with mum today. We’ve been lots of times but had heard about the recent poor reviews….however we decided to try it again and we weren’t disappointed. Prompt service, pleasant staff and the usual high standard of food. Glad we ignored the reviews ☺️

Visited Monday lunchtime.. cafe was a third full. Ordered Chicken Caesar wrap at £11.95 accompanied by skin on fries & a few brown salad leaves. Chicken was no more than scraps of dark meat , tiny bits of bacon & watery dressing. Waited 25 minutes for it,service poor. Sorry won’t be returning

After five years away from the UK we eagerly anticipated a fair well family lunch. The meal took an hour to come after we asked where it was. Cue cold food. The staff were less than interested although the eye roll was not charged as an extra. Left having paid for the drinks and the manager told us the food had taken a long time and had been sat in the pass for quite a while. We went to Boothes who were far more professional and far more pleasant. Oh. And the food was actually cooked. Well done steak shouldn’t come looking as though it’s cold wildebeest biltong jerky. Thanks for the memory.

Loving afternoon in a relaxed environment. Great food, service and live act playing music was added bonus.

Had a Sunday roast. I thought the broccoli stems were too hard but otherwise it was great. Update June 2024. Another beef roast, really good. Broccoli was edible this time ha. Good Sunday lunch. Cocktails are too small for the money so I'll stick to soft drinks in future.

Nice place for breakie or lunch

Fantastic atmosphere great food and service, the Vegan breakfast is priced according to the items on it and not just priced the same as the others which is rare, unfortunately if you don't like a particular item they are unwilling to swap it for anything else (specifically I wanted to swap the Tomato for some Extra Mushrooms). The manager/owner was lovely and so was the rest of the serving team the food was slightly different on the 2 occasions we went one day having potatoes and the next we had mini hash browns(best option imo) but they were both very well cooked 😋 This is definitely the place we will eat when visiting Poulton👍

The pizza was awful, they need to take that off their menu.

Visited on a Saturday lunchtime. Service was slow, the waitress was unfriendly and the food was disappointing. I ordered the hummus, caramelised onion & roasted pepper open sandwich. This was two slices of bread, semi toasted but cold (unsure why) 2 lettuce leaves, hummus, a small dollop of caramelised onion & one tiny sliver of pepper. It came with a cup of soup but at £10 it wasn’t value for money, the sandwich was poor & the waitress looked that put out to be serving us that I didn’t feel able to give feedback. It may be an ok place for coffee & cake but I wouldn’t recommend eating there & won’t be going back. It’s a shame as it’s a decent sized place, clean & with nice decor. It just needs the food to improve!

Was treated to lunch here, I had heard a few friends say they enjoyed a breakfast here, so was looking forward to this. But I was so disappointed, I ordered an Americano coffee, stated I wanted milk, came black no milk, had to ask for it when I next saw a waitress by which time it was nearly cold. I ordered a Hawaiian pizza, it was awful, if I had heated this up at home I would have put it in the bin. It was mainly just doughy base, little topping and basically tasteless. What ham was on it was so dry it was untrue, the only real decent part was the pineapple. As I was being treated, I didn't like to upset the person paying by complaining, but will avoid this place in future. At least you can park for free for up to 3 hours.

Had a nice Sunday lunch but the wine was poor. Nice restaurant but I like a nice wine with my meal and the two I tried were far from nice. Unfortunately this is typical of a lot of restaurants in visit in the UK. Water next time.

I'd definitely come back for their pizza and Sunday roast.

Service poor even for drinks . Waited over 3/4 for food and when it came only 6 chips with the cheese and onion pie! We complained and were given more without asking which was appreciated. The moules and frites however were delicious

Good food and service but unfortunately they allow dogs in the restaurant. There were two large dogs at the table next to us. One was sat at the table and licked the table so we will not be going again.

We eat at Thyme with friends for my birthday… each and every meal was perfect. The food was really tasty presented well and the cost was surprisingly cheap for that standard of food. I had the lamb rump and it was faultless. The staff couldn’t have been any more helpful or friendly. I was surprised when I logged on to Tripadvisor this morning to see some bad reviews. I don’t get it. It was honestly one of the nicest meals we’ve had in a while without paying through the nose. I will definitely return thank you

I have been to Thyme on a number of occasions and it has never disappointed. However this evening unfortunately it was not the best dining out experience. The lamb had to be sent back as it was just chunks of fat with very little meat, the portion sizes were very poor, served with one potato and a small palm size portion of vegetables. The second meal that arrived in it's place was served with half a dozen chips and even less vegetables! Overall not good value for money. Children's portions at adult prices! Just to add also that the manageress in charge that evening didn't seem atall bothered about our 'not so good' dining experience! There wasn't even an apology from her whilst paying. Won't be visiting again anytime soon!

My boyfriend and I have been to Thyme a couple of times and we are never disappointed. The staff are always super lovely, and friendly! The interior in this place is also lovely, so clean and the atmosphere is relaxing. We’ve only ever had pizza from Thyme and each time we’ve had it, we’ve always finished our meal saying how we’d come again, and we’d be back for another one of their pizza’s! I’d recommend the cheesy garlic bread, it’s to die for! and their pizza portions are great value for money but so filling! On our last visit, one of the staff graciously discounted some drinks from our bill, due to their pizzas not being of their usual standard, however we thought they were just as delicious as normal! but nevertheless we were grateful for the kind gesture of one of the staff, i assume she was the manager of Thyme! We will definitely be back for another visit! A lovely place to eat!

First time visit, service was excellent , food was first class and very tasty, great to find that we could bring our small dog next time we visit. Looking forward to that already 👍🏼

Went with friends last night and it was superb!!! The menu was fantastic! And we were very impressed with the choices on the 2 for £19 offer. The food was delicious and there wasn’t a morsel left on our plates. Staff were very attentive and Lisa who was in charge couldn’t do enough. Disappointed it wasn’t busier, people are definitely missing out not going here in the evening. Every credit to the Chef and the staff. We will definitely be back. Thank you for making our night!

My partner and I arrived here for a spontaneous lunch. It looked fairly busy but we were able to get a table in the outside area which is quite a clever use of space where the doors can be slid open or closed to bring the outside in depending on the elements. The greeting was friendly ish and service was pleasant and timely, if a little chaotic. We were asked by different servers about drinks after ordering them already and there were several different servers throughout our meal. Food came out within fifteen minutes of ordering. The salad was lacking in how much chicken was in it, probably less than half a small chicken breast. It was also a little too wet. The salad came with garlic bread which was overpowering with garlic but otherwise superbly cooked. The burger was dripping in so much oil that my plate was covered in it. It tasted okay but nothing amazing and something about it felt a little off though I couldn't quite put my finger on it. The best part of the meal was the truffle mayo fries. I don't think I'll return to this restaurant, especially given that the pricing is, in my view, too high for the quality of food.

If I could give a zero I would. Good points- nice surroundings Negatives- 1. Customer service was awful. Stern woman who showed me to the table with a foreign accent was very rude and closed off 2. Waited ages to be served and then ages for food to arrive when all I ordered was a what turned out to be a minuscule salad and tiny amount of very greasy fries. 3. I ordered a warm chicken salad which came with garlic bread and a separate order of fries. Nowhere on the menu did it anywhere say that it came with sauce or dressing which was great as I can’t eat anything which has dressing on it for medical reasons. So I had no reason to ask for it to be plain without dressing. The salad arrived about 20 minutes later and of course it had dressing all over it :((( I asked the lady who took my order was there supposed to be dressing on here? I thought it came with no dressing and she just said “ yes it says it in the menu” I thought to myself I must be in the wrong so I won’t complain. I tried to use my serviette to take some of the dressing off but I couldn’t. I couldn’t eat it in the end and the fries were greasy. The garlic bread didn’t arrive. 4. When I got to the till to pay out of interest i picked up one of the menus and as I read before nowhere does it state any dressing was on the salad. I was explaining to the waitress about the problem and said I didn’t even know it came with garlic bread but that didn’t arrive anyway :/ so I’d of been paying for it without having any. 5. The waitress then passed me over to the original waitress who basically implied I was in the wrong and said she did bring the garlic bread out and that it was in the salad and that the menu says it doesn’t come with dressing. I pointed it out in the menu basically word for word that it doesn’t say this anywhere and she then had to admit she was in the wrong and she will get the chef to add it to the menu. She then still didnt believe me about the garlic bread so fortunately I had taken a photo of my food before eating it just incase she was wrong about the dressing and as you can see in my photo - no garlic bread. 6. No apologies given. When I said I don’t think I should pay for the salad due to the fact that I was unable to eat it due to mistakes made and blamed on myself the waitress w

A love place and great food. Friday night after work, a DJ playing great tunes in the background , creating a lovely ambience , attentive staff, so nice , lamb and steak was lovely, lively merlot and pinot , a lively Friday night , highly recommended x

We came here for an event (Brush and Tipple) which was amazing, however! We decided to eat here and to be honest the food was really bad, My partner started with the mackerel pate which was bland and tasteless and the crackers were stale! She followed this with the salmon and noodles which was a plate of mess overcooked, over seasoned, I had the chicken bites which had way too much seasoning on them, the chicken was thigh meat diced up and had not been trimmed properly and was overcooked which made it tough and chewy! Then I had the pan-fried sirloin which I ordered medium rare Unfortunately it didn't come as ordered, served on a bed on very lumpy, cold spring onion mash with overcooked veg and a tasteless peppercorn sauce. I will put our terrible food and experience down to to fact they are looking for a new chef but still, it wasn't acceptable and based on this I will not return or recommend it. There are a lot of great places to eat locally I just wish I'd chosen one of these establishments, I have attached pictures so you will see what I mean.

Service very good and the brecky was fantastic.

Very disappointing, staff put minimal effort in, the place was unclean for the price. I have coeliac disease and have to follow a strict gluten free diet and the staff knowledge was awful and I don’t think the food was gluten free as I have had a bad reaction this morning. The waitress said when she served the food oh I presume this is the gluten free one, which automatically makes you conscious about eating the food. I wouldn’t bother wasting your money.

Poulton was quiet for a Saturday afternoon, but the restaurant was busy. It was clean and well ventilated. A couple of our party had the special, carrot and coriander soup, two had the prawn salad, and I had the goat's cheese salad. The whole group enjoyed the food. Service was good, with friendly banter with the staff. It is not the cheapest in the town, but certainly not the most expensive. I felt it was value for money, and worth another visit.

We decided to give thyme an other go as we live in the area, unfortunately it was just another let down. The menu had changed since we last came but there wasn’t a lot of appeal. The steak and frites was at a poor standard for the price you pay ( especially in comparison to the likes of miller and Carter which is a lot cheaper for a decent piece of quality steak). The staff didn’t seem to know what was happening with the menu as it changes so much. There was also other tables in the restaurant who decided to send their food back which didn’t fill us with too much hope. Such a shame for a promising place.

This place stinks of a good Thyme. Service was top of the pops, my father is vegan and enjoys eating. According to him their vegan Fish & Chips was one of the best vegan meals he has experienced. I too did try this as it looked spectacular and must say that it is a very nicely balanced dish. First class I had the smoked salmon salad which hit the spot. Coffee was served quickly and overall just a good time!! See you next time ✌️

Went for breakfast, Waited 20 mins to order. Brought out luke warm coffee waited another 20 minutes ordered another coffee to go with the breakfast but the breakfast still didn't arrive after an hour the staff realised they hadn't put the order through we had to leave as we didn't have time they were "sorry" but still charged us £15 for coffee.

Grand spot for a bit of lunch or brunch if you ever find yourself in Poulton. Good selection, all very well made with fresh ingredients. Plenty of spacce and large tables if you need them for a biig gang.

We got a voucher for a gift of £30 .We popped in this morning to have 2 tea cakes and a drink £10.45.I produst my voucher only to be told I cannot use it. I can only use it if I spend over £30.I can not find eny rules on the voucher are eny were eles. So I would say very bad service by not thinking of the costumer. And to my experience it is not cheap to eat there you really would off though something to make the customer happy but I did not get it that day . I did ask it I could exchange it for 3 £10 voucher I was told it is not policy to do that so the answer was no. It is very important to look after your customer not hear. Please think before getting a voucher from here

Booked an afternoon tea for my partners birthday on arrival a sulky member of staff told me I had not booked for vegetarian I said I had when I called and spoke to her male colleagues she again told me I couldn't have done as a note would have been left I then asked what is available for my partner which she replied cheese, I have eaten on many occasions and am solely disappointed by the lack of friendliness by your member of staff. On my way out I said we are leaving to which she raised her hands in the air shame on you to the lady that works there. My surprise afternoon tea for my partner was completely ruined . I am so sorry to having to leave this review but I had a bad experience today. Went in with my husband for a brew,we both had hot chocolates. When I was drinking mine,I felt something in the mug,pulled it out and it was an empty sugar wrapper. Thought it just dropped in it when the hot chocolate was made,but after I drank from it and the rest of the wrapper ended in my mouth.Left 3/4 of it in the mug,paid for it and left. I was disappointed as it looked a fancy place,the hot chocolates tasted great , but it got ruined with the wrapper in it.Makes me think the mug wasn't washed after being used by previous customers.Such a shame for this bad experience.
