Thundercat Pub & Diner in Glasgow City

Very cool place with great food and a fantastic atmosphere. Ordered the chilli loaded Tater tots and the thunderdog. Both huge portions and really delicious.

Place was so loud that i left with a headache. Couldnt have a conversation while having dinner it was that loud. Mac + cheese and deep fried pickles were good. However the salt and pepper tater tots were lukewarm when they were served to us and the chicken in the nashville chicken sub was also cold on arrival. Couldnt say this to a server as wasnt anyone near us after the food was served, no servers came by until after we had ate so we made do with the lukewarm tots We hadnt reserved a table so we got seated quick to then be told we only had an hour to eat which is fine for 2 people but obvs wouldnt be for bigger groups.

It's our 5th time here & I can honestly say if you like this, sort of food it's superb not too pricey, also the staff are great very attentive but not over bearing will defo be back again 😊

Opening night last night was amazing the unique welcoming warm comfortable chilled out vibe that just feels inclusive and fun for all is what I have come to expect from this independent Scottish restaurant group. The front of house team were quick, engaging and informative. The kitchen team knocked it out of the park the dishes coming out of the kitchen looked as good as they tasted something for everyone!. Casual dining but quality what’s not to love . Can’t wait to book in again with friends and family, and if the good weather comes back I will be in the outside seating area on the sunny side of Byres Road. Great addition to Glasgow’s West End 😍

Great atmosphere and friendly staff - I first asked if they were dog-friendly, our dog is a big boy and we were welcomed and served by Callum K who was super friendly and allowed us to sit in a corner so our dog wasnt in the way. He even gave our dog a bowl of water. We were visiting Glasgow for the afternoon while on our way back home to south England and Callum gave us some great recommendations in the city. Onto the food... we opted for the lunch menu (main, side and drink for 13.95) which was incredible value. I went for the pulled pork sandwich and deep fried pickles. My partner the Thunderdog hot dog and sweetcorn ribs. We also added bbq brisket burnt ends to the order. The portions are insane and everything was cooked and seasoned spot on. We were totally impressed, absolutely stuffed and even had to ask for the leftovers to be bagged up to take home. Overall highly recommend and will be heading here on our next trip in the area!

Food is good here. Had chicken burgers and tater tots. With side of mac and cheese.friendly staff and good atmosphere. Would recommend. The New York hotdog Not worth the money

Oh my! Your food was just delicious! We ordered a pizza to share and a ton of sides! Deep pizza outstanding! Never had anything like it! The burnt ends side dish to die for! Infact all of it was delicious, washed down with some very nice cocktails! A great meal thank you!

We come here quite frequently and the food is usually great, but we visited on Saturday afternoon and the food really didn’t hit the mark. Loaded tatertots were quite cold and toppings congealed, ate one fried pickle as they just tasted like oil. Service is always good and cocktails were nice, but for what we paid, the food was pretty poor.

Chicken tenders are great, i went during the day after lunch so was quite fast service and quiet. Good was banging and was at a reasonable price too.

Food is great tasting and value. I would avoid the cocktails as they tend to be quite crap/weak. Vib is cool but just a bit too loud with the current setup, consistent rabble echos

went here on saturday night for the first time before the hydro & it’ll be the last time, chicken was drenched in sauce that you can’t enjoy it, pizza was basically filled with tomato sauce that the only thing you could taste was that 🙄 my partner got macaroni & again drenched in sauce so really if you want something to eat that you can taste other than their sauce then avoid this place, i’d have been happier spending £70 in KFC than this place, avoid if you want to have a nice meal where you can have a conversation without having to shout across the table 🥴

Food was great service was also really friendly. Small issue of forgetting a drink in the order and having to wait for one pizza coming out 15 mins later than the rest of the groups food. Always book ahead as it's really busy and there was a few walk ins disappointed they would need to wait

Our friends choice for lunch. Was a great sized portion. They were busy, When we finished our meal and paid we were asked to leave quite quickly. But possibly due to other reservations. I'd recommend it.

Great food and great cocktails. Our waitress Amanda was a wee pocket rocket, looking after everyone and giving great service. She was kind and considerate whilst serving would definitely come again to be served by her, she didn't skimp on service at all even when it looked like she was everywhere at once.

Been here so many times the food is unreal just delicious every bite great selection of starters, sharing food and amazing mains and puddings it is my fave place to go never had a bad experience here, always leave content and full of great food.

If You love a good American Chicago style Pizza Pie, this is the place! All food was exceptional. Sometimes it can be a little loud in there, but otherwise a great place.

Been here before, but not for a few years as I don't visit Glasgow often but was down for a concert. As always the food was fab, we had the mac n cheese with beef and a portion of the garlic and pecorino tater tots on the side - so garlicy and cheesy they were to die for. A special shout out to Callum K who was looking after us and really went the extra mile - from searching the bar for alternative - off menu drinks when the one we wanted was out of stock, to making sure the small changes to our meal were accommodated, nothing was too much bother. Great service can make such a difference to a meal, he's a real credit to the place. Not sure when we will be back in Glasgow but we will defo be booking to come back here.

5 of us came here for dinner and cocktails last night, we had a couple of issues with our order but the staff were amazing, fixed the issue straight away and were extremely apologetic. Considering how busy it was we did not wait long for our food or drinks and they tasted amazing will defo be back 😁

After going to Bucks Bar (the other franchise they own) for years, I finally made it to Thundercat! Can't fault the good, drinks, or atmosphere at all. Everything was super fresh and piping hot when it came. My first time trying a deep dish pizza plus tater tots and I definitely came to the right place! Really delicious. My fave things from both places are the hardshakes (hugeeee). Staff were friendly and helpful. Only slight critique would be we did wait about 30 minutes (possibly a bit longer) for our food. Other than that, can't fault the food or the price. Will definitely be back!

My whole family love it here. The people working here are always positive and looking to help. Food is big potions, adequately priced and really tasty. They have a fab gluten free menu for us celiacs too. It’s became one of my favourite places in Glasgow.

came here for my friends’ 20th birthday, all was well until we realised we were massively overcharged on the bill (around £80). since there was so many of us, we didn’t notice on the night, having decided to sort money the next day. when we realised there were quite a few extra items on the bill that none of us had ordered, the restaurant was not willing to hear us out and be cooperative in trying to get us our money back.

food was very good. specifically we very much enjoyed the garlic butter fries and the hard shakes. we also noted that they had vegan options for the hard shakes - we didn’t try them, but we liked that they’d put the effort in. service was great - waiters were lovely, and food came in good time. the atmosphere really sold it for us - it wasn’t too loud or awkwardly quiet, and it felt very retro and modern at the same time. overall - highly recommend.

The Thindercat is the embodiment of the American pizza factory: steps leading down to this underground place, black and red walls, neon lights, and a map straight out of Chicago. I found what I expected: reasonable prices, gargantuan portions, but against all expectations: tasty and artisanal dishes. Delicious and spicy!! . A real piece of American territory in Scotland! Fun

Awesome place. Loved the pulled pork sandwich, ice cream was lovely, milkshakes are huuuuge. Was a little disappointed by the chicken tenders, but the rest more than made up for it. Menu prices are about typical for Glasgow, but they have some great deals that knock it down a bit.

Always enjoy here. It’s somewhere a bit different and the deep pan pizzas are just immense. Cooked perfectly and so full of flavour. Cocktails during the week are very reasonable too

Fantastic place for a bite to eat in the town. Have been twice now and the food really doesn't disappoint. I've tried the Macaroni cheese, Pepperoni pizza, Corn ribs (favourite), wings, fried chicken sandwich, chilli dog, loaded fries and fried pickles. This is the place to go if you're craving not so healthy good old comfort food, it really hits different. Not had any cocktails or drinks but there's a great selection to choose from! The best part? It's really reasonable price wise for the quality and volume of food you receive. They ask immediately when you sit down if you have any allergies & have clear veg and vegan choices on their menu. 10/10. If you're passing I'd highly recommend trying it. Suitable for couples, friend groups, families , the lot!

Absolutely loved this place. Was nice to see it so bustling with people. Even on a Monday afternoon! We were a group of six and whilst we grabbed a drink by the bar the hostess managed to fit us in. Drinks are amazing, get the twister one! Yum! Food was delicious and so generous with the portions. Will be back!

The milkshakes were amazing. The chicken and tater tots were also very good. Okay - Pizza Pie; dough was very chewy and filling just tasted like spag bol. Poor - coleslaw - wet onions and cabbage. Very watery. Poor - burnt ends were deep fried tough bits of beef. I've been to America multiple times and these are not burnt ends; traditionally they are very tender and juicy. Not tough, chewy, dry and deep fried. Totally bizarre, they should call them a different name. Poor - crinkle cut fries - just frozen crinkle cut chips? Poor - Mac and cheese. Pasta and cheese. Microwave quality. Poor - no plates??? For some reason we had all this food in little plastic baskets. It was a real struggle to eat stuff when presented this way. The worst thing of all though was not the food it was the attitude of the waitress - who was very rude and didn't apologise. Even when asked about an apology, she just said she did apologise and walked off. I'd never go back and I do not recommend. EDIT : The manager Simone is a liar and don't worry hen I'll never be back to your badly run unprofessional establishment. Also wasn't offered refunds or apologies... Or even proper cutlery and utensils.

After booking a table for 10 pm Saturday 15th Feb was really looking forward to getting our Thundercat fix always make a point of spending one night on this bar. Food never disappoints drinks shakes always fab. However got there at 10 not that busy Dj playing some cool tunes ordered a hard shake to start us off then cracked on waiting for the food . Finished our meal my wife went out for a cigerette while she was out thought I’d order more drinks they are open till 12 am. At which point our server appeared at the table bill and card machine in hand to be informed you need to pay as they need to clean the . This was 10.50 pm did the same to all tables wether they liked it or not. Paid and left all I’d say is don’t bother avoid we come to Glasgow often and Thundercat is alway top of the places to eat. Not now.

Went to thundercat after having looked at the menu a few times and liking what I seen. Ordered chicken loaded chips which came without the chicken. Server tried to rectify this but the chef just threw the chips into a skillet and topped with chicken which in turn burnt the chips to a cinder. The server took the price of the chips off the bill which helped the matter. Pizza was good but maybe a little too much pineapple, coleslaw was good. Server tried her best to help a bad experience

Great vegan options and lovely staff

Callum and Jennifer were the ultimate hosts. They went above and beyond to make our visit special. Food slapped incredibly hard also.

The waiter was lovely. However, the food was absolute abismal. The rating system for chillies (how hot each food item was) was completely delusional. We ordered specific the macaroni and cheese loaded fries which were in-edible. Nothing wrong with service but the menu was mis-leading. Drinks were lovely but not desperate to return.

Been coming for years and a five star review is more than justified. Have always been made to feel welcome by the staff and the food/drinks are incredibly well priced for the city centre location.

Amazing food, great drinks, but being sat right near the DJ made it a tad hard to hear my girlfriend.

I liked that there was a good vegetarian selection and the staff were nice. However, the food was just okay and our bill was incorrectly calculated, although thankfully staff realised the error as we were leaving. The worst part was the plates. They were these metal trays that have no grip, so they just slide around the table as you're eating; especially if you're trying to cut something. Overall, we wouldn't return.

Went here for a Christmas Dinner/Secret Santa exchange. I had never been in before and had no expectations. Loved the pulled pork sandwich and the caesar salad was just the right balance of ingredients. Didn’t order from the Christmas menu as was a bit uncertain about it but that’s more on me. Staff were super attentive and service was fast considering we were a table of 15. Will definitely return in the future!

Had a great dinner here! The vibes are fun and vibrant and the food itself was cheesy and fatty and absolutely something I’m still dreaming about. We messed up our reservation on a busy Friday night and although we had to wait a bit, the staff were so good at finding us a table at the last minute and it was absolutely worth the wait!!

The waiter was friendly and accommodating, thank you. However, the pizza was awful. It's left me and my partner feeling sick that we couldn't finish our other food. It was undercooked, raw at the bottom, full of cold bolognese water with inedible cheese on top. On social media, photos of their pizzas are going to look the part, but in reality it just seems like cutting corners advertising it as an expensive deep dish pizza that's actually just filled with cheap watery pasta sauce that's made us feel unwell from a few bites

Excellent food and attentive staff

I wouldn’t believe all the hype about this place. The table was in the middle of the bar with lots of people crowded around us. It was terrible and the food was awful. The New Yorker hot dog meal wasn’t a meal. Just a hot dog. If you want a roll over hotdog that you get from the petrol station go here. I asked for a dessert menu and let’s just say lm still waiting and my partners meal well lm still trying to figure out what that was meant to be. Never again.

I was in Glasgow for work and wanted to try the deep dish pizza. I was sat at the bar (my choice seeing as I was on my own) and ordered my pie. It was good - if extremely ‘wet’. A puddle developed on the bar that nearly ran off the edges. I wonder whether the sauce had managed to cook through properly given the extreme amount of liquid that came out. The pizza tasted great, it looked phenomenal and I had a half of Tenants with it which was beautiful. I’d absolutely come again, I do wonder whether the deep dish would be less wet next time?

Been here a few times now and I love the food, and the milkshakes are amazing.

Came in at 1:45pm on the 23rd of December. Lady at the bar (heavy build), remarked about “children at the bar” right in front of our faces despite there being no restriction at this time and not asking for an alcoholic drink. Wonderfully unpleasant and rude, hope to return without being remarked as children for no reason, considering we are both adults as well.

I love this establishment and the wonderful staff who are a joy and the decor is amazing I love the 70s retro music and the cocktails are fabulous just 10/10

Genuinely some of the best food I've eaten, definitely the best in Glasgow I've ever had. Under £13 for the lunch felt criminally underpriced. We were asked about dietary issues and allergies before we were even seated to make sure everyone was safe upfront too.

Just been for the third time this Sunday past, we really are going to make it a tradition each time we go to Glasgow. Great atmosphere, the cocktails are excellent (even better with the 40% off offer) and the quality of food is absolutely outstanding. The pizza pies, the BBQ meats mac n cheese, the chicken burgers, 10 out of 10 They also do a milkshake with Jack Daniels in it. The best.

Love this place. If you like Bucks Bar but want a slightly quieter version, then this is the place! The food is amazing. The portions are huge! Staff are really friendly. Great value for money!

They kindly fitted me in as a walk in and service was friendly and prompt. Food was good, one of the better deep pan pizzas I've had outside of the states. Perhaps a touch too saucy but that's more of a preference. Hot wings were excellent!

Out for a day in Glasgow..started here, for lunch..was the best decision we could have made!! The tater tots with macaroni was deelish, and the burger my son had was the best he'd ever had, and he's a burger fan. Fantastic service, and the bill was very modest for such a lovely lunch..would, and have, highly recommend

I love thundercat, decided to try the deep dish pizza this time but it’s not my thing, it was nice but I prefer thin base pizza. Starters were amazing and staff were really nice.

Visited on the Sunday We ordered the cheesus crust pizza, thank god we ordered one, didn’t realise how big or filling it was. The pizza was 10/10, the sauce was amazing tasted super fresh. All the food was amazing and couldn’t find a fault. To add, the pricing was extremely reasonable considering your in glasgow! Service was 10/10 Food 10/10 Atmosphere 10/10 Highly recommend! Lastly, they have great 0% alcohol options! Edit* new review Second time here, staff were great, service was prompt. However the food was really subpar, pizza was undercooked, mac and cheese was an odd texture and flavour. Front of house staff knocked off the pizza from the bill. Visited on 13.11.24 Salt and chilli chicken loaded fries were burned and the pizza was nice but hard to eat due to the top being slightly undercooked . BBQ tender chicken was really good service was good .Was quite busy with a good amount of staff working to deal with it .

Honestamente, este lugar tiene algunos de los mejores alimentos en Glasgow! Si aún no has estado en Thundercat, ¿qué estás haciendo? Las pizzas son increíbles, y los bocados de lasaña son algo en lo que sigo pensando... El personal es genial, pero el servicio puede ser un poco lento cuando está ocupado. Perfecto si estás buscando un lugar para cargar en esos carbohidratos cursis después del trabajo en la ciudad.
