Bar 91 in Glasgow City

Asked for vodka was given doubles when not asked iif this what we wanted. £8 difference in price.

Amazing place to stay. I would love to be there whenever I want to find time to spend.

Lovely atmosphere especially when there's a game on. Well spaced tables and attentive service for those offering food service. Very good prices for gin and lovely food - we had the four-cheese and chicken pizza after seeing the meals the last time we visited and they tasted as good as they smelled. The bar staff are very good at their job, every drink ordered was created with a lot of care, from cocktails to a basic G&T.

An absolutely fantastic pub, not only was the atmosphere fantastic, the drinks were reasonable and the food smelled amazing. In particular, the server, Megan, made our outing. Not only was she warm, welcoming and helpful, she made us feel at home and was truly a highlight on a miserable day. I would recommend this pub to anyone who enjoys good chat and perfect pints. Will be back!

We went in for lunch to find that it is now a brunch menu until 3pm which in our opinion seemed limited. Our server Aran was very helpful and attentive and helped in our overall rating for the experience not to be 3*. We ordered burgers and we were disappointed. The burger bun was soggy due to the excessive burger sauce and towards the end of eating my burger noticed it was very undercooked... for us the food has gone downhill we used to be regulars we won't be back to eat with other better options in the City.. such a shame.

A fantastic place to visit for breakfast or brunch. Friendly staff and tasty food. Tables outside or in depending on the weather. Food served quickly - had the pancake stack with bacon - so good.

Best Fish and Chips in Glasgow!

Decent food at decent prices in Merchant City sector of Glasgow. Was once overpriced but seems now to have adapted to accommodate those seeking value for money.

Really nice food and decent prices too. The drink is a little expensive though. Staff are friendly.

I had brunch. Food and cocktails were brilliant. I had the baked eggs and Bloody Mary. The tv was on and as I was sitting below the speaker it was very loud. Slightly annoying that smokers stood just outside the front door. There must have been a back door open somewhere as the smoke came straight in.

While passing through Glasgow, I tried the address for brunch, and... It works very well! The breakfast menu is rather substantial and complete at a reasonable price. The pancakes are good! Waitress is very helpful!

The pizza was fantastic, I hadn't been in for years. The service was good too. The drinks were delightful.

Quieter than I expected but the food was too die for.

Place has went right downhill. Food is so bland and the price increase on drinks is astronomical. Overnight the price of a pint jumped £1 which is just ridiculous. Used to love this place but won’t be going as regularly. On a busy night the male toilets are like a swimming pool. They don’t get mopped regularly and toilet roll isn’t replenished. Such a shame is this was once a great place under the old owners.

Terrible. we tried to book online biy had an issue so ended up calling to reserve a table for dinner. We turned up at bar 91 to be informed the table had been reserved for drinks only and that the kitchen was closed. Very disappointed.

The bar where serving staff ignore you. Went to bar person was pouring pint but looked straight at me. Then turned their gaze back to the pint. FAILED bartending 101. Acknowledging a customer. Not much needed a wee nod, “with you in a minute.” Left bar, lost sales because of a bad bartender.

Went last night with friends, first time there. Staff were amazing, atmosphere was good and the food was decent. I got Nachos which were a decent portion size however friends got Halloumi fries and the portion looked very small, although I recognise that these are more of a side dish than a main. Over all, it was a good night. Nice location too. Music was a wee bit loud and at times but generally ok. Recommended.

It was Christmas fare....Nice staff/ food/ ambience Around the corner from my flat/ been around for years and always buzzing... A wee cool bar and restaurant in Candleriggs/ Merchant City, Glasgow.

Came in for a quiet drink but glad to leave. A bunch of annoying middle aged men who couldn’t sit still and an Edinburgh gin ruined by tonic water from a dispenser were the main reasons for not wanting to stay for a second drink and to catch the earlier train home instead.

Had a bite to eat a week ago with my wife & daughter. Food was great value for money & a nice atmosphere. All the staff were really friendly, hard working & I’m sure with it being the busy festive period you wouldn’t have blamed them for being tired! The bill was sadly wrong & my wife only realised after we had settled the bill & left, so I nipped back in & the bar member & manager very quickly sorted it out without fuss & discretion. Thank you & will definitely be back 👍🏽

Great pub. But don't go here for a Guinness. It's definitely not their strong point

We had a great evening at Bar 91 for our work Christmas night out! Jac took great care of us and the food was delicious! The bar was perfect for us (group of around 15), just the right atmosphere!

This place must be under new ownership… used to be a reliable go to for good food, varied menu and warm atmosphere. No longer Food underwhelming supermarket style pre frozen fish and chips, a few lettuce leaves covered in balsamic, burger also not up to previous standard, quality definitely deteriorated. Freezing cold, had to eat meal with coat on! Even parts of the upholstered bench seating has huge rips/slashes clearly visible and desperately needs urgent repair . No fault with staff, friendly and hard working!

We stumbled across this place and were happy to get out of the rain to take advantage of their soup and sandwich deal for a late lunch. Great atmosphere, cruisy music, friendly staff and we loved the soup and sandwich. We also enjoyed gin n tonic and beers. Highly recommend👍

Looks good from the outside, but ultimately pretty poor. Beer choice average. Toilets an absolute disgrace.

We pitched up for drinks before and after our restaurant meal and had an enjoyable experience. The bar offers food (which we didn't try), a good range of beers/whiskys and great customer service. There's a small area outside which is great if the weather permits.

We booked a table for 18:30. First issue was our table wasn’t ready for us, second issue was there was lots of people standing around us allowing us not to enjoy our meal and the final issue was the food itself, the haggis and steak burger was horrendous not one of my friends finished it, there was a massive hair in my own and they were all dry, I asked specifically for my burger to be plain with cheese haggis and steak I received none of that. The man who served us wasn’t interested at all, and the food came very fast showing us that it was reheats.

Terrible attitude, said they weren't serving food past 7:30pm they missed out on around 400 gbp which we spend down the road.

Didn't find the one member of staff we met friendly at all

Even though it was a Sunday and the bar was almost empty, we had a great time. The beer was cheap and well poured and the staff was extremely friendly - they even ordered deep fried mars bars for us to try out because I brought it up in conversation. An evening to remember 5/5

Great service, good selection of beers and good atmosphere. Good outdoor area as well and dog friendly. Works night out and kept the tables clean all night. Couldn’t have been more accommodating. Didn’t eat there but the food looked good.

This is an established Merchant City bar which has just been taken over by new owners. On the plus side, the kitchen hours are much more regular than they were, but at the expense of a more limited menu. This makes perfect sense in the current climate. The food is still good and they have an excellent selection of drinks.

Five of us had a full Scottish breakfast. It was well cooked and presented well. There was plenty of it. The staff was very nice even putting up a couple of umbrellas as it started to rain as we where eating outside.

Watched the Scotland game with a wonderful crowd and lovely bar staff that could not be more welcoming. A brilliant evening 😀

The vibe is great, bartender was super helpful and friendly, and the cocktails are well done. We had the espresso martini and guastato spritz.

Decent bar in Merchant city. Good prices (compared to Edinburgh). Nice when large front windows are opened with a busy street outside. Also have outdoor seating. Friendly service.

Had a great time here, we came as part of a party for my girlfriends birthday, drinks selection was amazing, service was great and staff were all super friendly! Thanks to Jac especially for being so lovely to all of us!

Great place to grab a few pints

Bar 91 is located in the city centre and is around half a mile on foot from Glasgow Central station. We had booked a table on a Saturday evening and on entering the establishment, it was so busy and noisy we could hardly make conversation with each other. However, the food was pretty good. My fish and chips with mushy peas was very nice indeed for £11.95.

Went for lunch yesterday. It was freezing as all the doors fully opened but then closed the side door but still cold. Ordered a chicken burger which I had to send back. Unable to bite it as it was overcooked. Changed order to a beef burger to which I was asked did I want a fresh bun?? Considering the waiter picked the chicken burger out with his gingers to return to the kitchen of course I wanted a fresh bun! This was nice though had to eat after my partner had already finished his fish and chips by time it came. We got 2 drinks to compensate which was fair enough though left half as too cold to drink it! Staff were pleasant and helpful and apologetic but I won't b back.

Brilliant service: friendly and chilled staff. Came here for lunch at approx 11:30 on a Saturday morning and had a full breakfast which was fresh, tasty and well-prepared. We were the only one there at that time with my friend so we did not have to wait long for our food and drinks. It's also located in a convenient and nice area. The interior is cool and the atmosphere is cozy. There are some tables available outside as well (covered terrace.) Their prices are moderate so personally I consider both the drinks and food as good value for money. I can recommend the Bar91.

Went with a party of 14, bar was a bit cold, bit of a mix up with the pre ordered food but manager soon sorted it and gave a free drink. All had a good time.

Fabulous red wine before our train. Wonderful service, just need a wee cushioning on bar seats near the door. Authentic but...

The place was fine. Staff were a bit run off their feet with the sheer number of people which made ordering a drink a bit difficult but other than that things were fine. The kitchen had closed early, but the guys were cool enough to let us order a Domino's pizza and easy it as we were sitting outside 👍

Great location. Food lovely. Unfortunately we all had to eat out food with jackets and hats on (not the Xmas kind). They had the air conditioning on with the temp outside of 0 degrees. Would have been ok during the summer, but not mid December. Staff were apologetic but didn't turn it off.

First visit here. Great cocktails at fairly standard prices, a good selection of beer, whisky etc. I didn't have chance to try the Flea craft beers, so I'll need to make another trip.

I love this little bar in town, has all the atmosphere and feel of a local, without compromising on quality. Great value drinks & perfectly enjoyable fois menu. I make a point of visiting whenever I'm out for a drink in town now.

My favourite bar in Glasgow. Every time I visit we head for Bar 91, order a pint of St Mungo and sit drinking it happy to be in one of the friendliest bars and cities in the world! Great food too and really well priced.

If you're wanting soft drinks, stick to bottles or cans because their draft mix is less than half the concentration it is supposed to be. Tasteless coloured water

Always will be one of fav city centre pubs, you need to try their Italian beers, go for the Belgian style one!

Poor service waited 1 hour for food, bacon sandwich come with no butter on bread and was provided with sachet butter which was melted. Also they don’t have any brown sauce

Been past bar 91 few times went for food at effes great food and great atmosphere when outside but only issue is with the bar 91. Music too loud and the boom boom music very inconsiderate of them and owners like this bring area down feel sorry for Indian restaurant upstairs

Yeah decent place for a drink, could do with a few more things on tap but staff were great and its a good place to grab a beer and chill out with friends in the city centre. The background noise is the right level so you can actually have a conversation which always works!

Nice wee bar, the layout and atmosphere is great. Prices are quite high though mostly in line with bars in this area.
