Three Stags Heads Darley Bridge in Derbyshire Dales

I took visiting family here on Sun & Mon 2nd and 3rd November 24. The large Sunday is oast was incredibly good. Lovely gravy and high quality perfectly done beef. The ve vegetables were done just how I like them. The Mon was a light sandwich lunch equally delicious. Clean and pleasant surroundings and friendly staff.

A lovely village pub. Great food, atmosphere and customer service. Totally dog-friendly too, we could sit with our boy anywhere in the pub! Loved that

Popped in for lunch. They have a reasonable range of vegetarian options. I had the veggie lasagne, my other half had an Indian spiced vegetable pie, both of which were very nice. Staff were friendly and helpful.

We had a very pleasant meal at the Three Stags Heads. The fish and chips was absolutely delicious. Our dog was made very welcome too and thought the chips were excellent (as well as some dog biscuits that were available). We sat indoors but outside seating looked great too. Very much recommended.

Stopped for a meal on way home to our caravan i had the steak pie wife had the crab both were very tasty and enough on your plate sat in the beer garden the food was brought to us the service was friendly and efficient

We had a warm welcome at this beautiful pub. A lovely beer garden and lots of indoor seating. A nice selection of local ales, all well kept. The staff are friendly, efficient and knowledgeable, the food seriously moorish. Our poor dog has no leftovers. We will definitely come again.

Stayed in an Airbnb cottage behind the pub and went for tea there. Have to say, they served the nicest meal, with the best chips I have ever tasted. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, allowing me to use their car park overnight.

Homely atmosphere, recently been made over & it's a proper welcoming homely local pub. Dog friendly, walkers friendly, great home cooked food. 5 🌟 stars. would highly recommend!!! a little local gem!

Cosy pub, good atmosphere, friendly staff and was very impressed with the steak I had.

Varied food reviews from the five of us, fairly large portions. Pies were of decent quality and very crusty. Crab seemed like imitation crab, chicken breast is highly recommended.

Great pub, food was tasty & some nice choices on the menu. We were there early Saturday evening & most of the tables were full. Very friendly & welcoming.

First time back since it has been refurbished. It's lovely. The steak pie was awesome. I'm local and will be back.

Second time here and the same friendly reception and service. The steak pie never fails to impress with Owen as chef delivering up honest wholesome fayre behind the scenes. First time visiting the Three Stags since Owen and Andy have taken it on and the refurbishments is fantastic and the food was excellent. Will be visiting again very soon.

A beautiful pub is a wonderful setting, and importantly, dog friendly. We were welcomed warmly upon our arrival and ordered food which was excellent value for money. We will certainly be coming back

Been to the stags for an evening meal and also Sunday lunch with my wife. Both times the food was excellent, really nice place to call for a drink as well. Will definitely be going back.

We went with a lady who now lives in France and she was very impressed.

This welcoming pub/restaurant has been renovated tastefully but still retains a country pub atmosphere. The food is delicious and of good quality. Both meat and wines are sourced locally. Recommend to book at peak times.

Great quiz night with great people and hosts

I visited for the first time for the pub quiz on Friday. I didn't eat, but the 'half-time' food was hot, substantial, nicely presented in recyclable packaging and thoroughly enjoyed by my friends. The pub has lovely decor and the atmosphere is warm, welcoming and relaxed. The sort of place I'd happily spend many a chilly evening in the winter. Ok. And summer. My friends and I had fun and will definitely return. Many thanks to the friendly and attentive staff!

We went to the three stags after we weren't able to cross the bridge to Matlock due to flooding, but what a blessing that was! The food and service here was incredible. All four of our meals were delicious with both our children really enjoying their food (which rarely happens) and very friendly staff. Really pleased we ended up here!

Yeah well yeah this place is seriously one of my favourite places to visit the staff are friendly and helpful despite being very busy, little jewel of Matlock and even have a local Peacock nesting in the trees at night, as you walk in there's a beautifully renovated fire place around 6ft tall with a low ceiling make it feel huge, being completely renovated I was one of the lucky ones to make the opening a few weeks ago, food is spot on don't forget to clock in the old clocking in machine stands in the corner behind you as you face the bar but don't forget to clock out hahhaahaha

Came very late on for food and they didnt have a problem at all, served us desserts way past last orders and all the food was great. Lovely atmosphere and such friendly staff. Looks amazing with the new refurbishment. Even a little bar cat came down just before closing. Will definitely be back

Newly refurbished, with a new team, The Three Stags is now very good. 4 real ales. Good selection of food. The steak and ale pie is superb. Proper chips! Other pubs nearby please note. Highly recommended

We are locals and has been visiting this pub since we moved in the area more than a decade ago. We were disappointed that it has shut several months ago but were excited to hear that it has reopened with new tenants. Didn’t had the chance to pop round until today. It has been extensively face lifted which admittedly just what it needed but at the same time something has been lost. It feels like it’s just another one of gastropubs that you find anywhere, the uniqueness of olde worlde pub and it’s warmth has gone. In my opinion, the pub now canters for the tourists also one of most expensive pub for the drinks in the area when it used to be very reasonable. No carling? And Pool table has also gone 😞. It’s not criticism, just my opinion but perhaps the times have changed. It’s not to say we won’t be returning. Good luck with the business.

My son and I had a lovely meal at the three stags yesterday evening . I had veg lasagne ..it came with garlic bread .salad and coleslaw My son had fish and chips . .enjoyed very much .Staff very friendly .The refurbishment is fantastic.. it looks so different. Will go again 👍

The renovations are beautiful - feels bright and clean but still has a cosy pub feel. Had the veggie lasagne and eton mess and both were delicious! Big shoutout to the garlic bread too. The staff were were all lovely. Look forward to coming back!

Newly reopend after renovation, the new landlords have done an absolutely amazing job on our local and it looks fantastic! Clean, warm, cosy, serving food, predictable opening and kitchen hours - brilliant, just what was needed for the village!

This pub unfortunately is closed, looks like for good. A shame as we walked to it having heard good things about it from friends.

Lovely quaint place. Beautiful beer garden. Friendly staff. A free house so, reasonably priced. Good real ale. We really need to pull together and support small businesses. This is 100% a business that needs our support.

I MUST recommend the Steak and Stilton Pie here! Succulent, well braised steak (no gristle) in a gravy which incorporates Stilton (no lumps and not overpowering). Truly delicious and worth a trip just for the pie but lovely staff as well! I hope to return next time we are holidaying in the area!

Was looking for food and sadly when we visited they wasn't serving on a Tuesday but happy to provide directions to another pub doing food. Very impressed with the friendliness of the staff and the cosy look of the pub we returned after our meal and enjoyed a few drinks in their lovely beer garden. Nice selection of local beer

We had walked from Matlock, it was a hot day and we were quite thirsty. The Three Stags was very welcoming and served up some fine pints of ale. A place to be recommended

Great location ..just dont order a £13.95 Ribeye steak.... was given my money back without hesitation.

We wanted to use the outdoor area but it was closed at the time of year we went. So sat with the smokers on the road. The pub didn't seam tgo mine our muddy boots and trousers from the walk we had been on. I would visit again, we only had a drink last time.
