We really enjoyed our meal at the shoulder of mutton. Excellent food. We are fairly regular here. Quite surprised to see someone openly vaping at the bar. I know it's not illegal, but very antisocial.

My wife and I both had the Beef Sunday Lunch the food was first class and is highly recommended. The staff were welcoming and friendly we will definitely be making a return visit.

Lynne and Nick put on a gorgeous spread for my mum's funeral. They were very warm and welcoming and couldn't do enough for us.

Spent a night here whilst on a walking trip. Great stay, no issues at all. Cooked breakfast in the morning was excellent! Would return.

Didn't have time to eat and nearly all tables were reserved. Beers, coffee and Rum all excellent as we're the staff. Will return ASAP.

Lovely place to stay - we stayed for just a night before a wedding elsewhere and the staff and breakfast were lovely! The room was roomy and the bathroom nice and clean! Would recommend :)

Lovely place to stay and staff were really nice. Some. Rooms have balconies which were so nice to set on during the evening/morning and look into the hills Food wasn't avaliable when we stayed so can't comment on that. Managed to get some breakfast just down the road though.

What a wonderful place. There were 8 of us plus a high chair, and they couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. All the staff are friendly, especially the land lady. The food is proper nice home cooked food, top quality and very reasonably priced. I can't recommend this place enough. Wish we lived nearer so could come more often.

Bradwell. Shoulder of mutton excellent

The location is stunning. I had an early start and as breakfast doesn't start until 8.30 - I can't comment on food. I arrived to a closed pub at 4.30pm. Doesn't open until 5 so I didn't have long to wait but was desperate for the loo after a 4 hour drive!! Rooms were exceptionally clean, spacious and well kitted out. Can get noisy but they provide ear plugs

Stayed at Eden Vale Campsite and had a pint or more most nights of my week long stay. The pub opened when it said it would and didn't close earlier than advertised, so it was worth the walk, unlike so many other pubs now! The beer was kept really well , to me, the most important selling point! Staff were really friendly and knowledgeable about local things to do which was great. The locals were a great bunch too! Dog friendly as well! A top British pub! I will be back! Thank you!

The landlord and landlady were very accommodating for two humans and a dog who despite being usually well behaved started barking at every other dog that came into the pub. Allowed us to enjoy our meals (which were excellent) in peace round the back and still gave us great service despite us being a bit of a handful. Much appreciated hospitality. Thank you again.

Great village pub. Had 3 guest ales on . We sat outside after a stunning morning walk around bradwell and surrounding area.

Nice pub, lovely welcoming bar staff. We arrived as a hungry party of six and although they were full in the resteraunt the staff kindly arranged another table to be set for us. The food was lovely, we had to send the steak back because it was well done rather than rare, but it was sorted out straight away so no problems there 😊

Retired female Travelling alone for first time and made welcome and safe by lovely owners. Highland room with balcony, comfortable bed and all needed for an overnight stay. Ate in their restaurant. Great food at very reasonable prices. Dogs welcome with owners, staying in their room.

Great pub a hidden gem in Bradwell

We stayed here for my birthday and the staff were all wonderful. Genuinely cared about and always greeted with smiles. The food was excellent, the room was really nice, the wait staff all looked like they thoroughly enjoyed working here. We will definitely be back when the buses are on their summer timetable!!

Lovely pub and room for an overnight stay. However. Unfortunately I had zero sleep due to the paper thin walls and the room next door having the world snoring championships. In what should be the perfect location for a quiet getaway further soundproofing or at least some complimentary ear plugs are desperately needed. I heard every movement, conversation and toilet trip, and of course the thunderous snoring all through the night. Also, from the early hours the local church bells chime every 15 minutes! As nice as the room was, the pub, the food and the hosts and a lovely location, I can’t recommend it and would not return.

This hotel is situated among some lovely scenery, as we could see from our bedroom window. That is not what makes it special however, the hosts and staff were exceptional throughout and lovely to talk to as well. We asked for somewhere to chill the milk for our baby and by the time we arrived Lynne had bought a small fridge for the room. I hope we will return one day soon. Thanks again.

Avoid like the plague. Owner is a miserable bloke, pub was empty. Better options elsewhere. Tip if you don’t have a choice and end up here: Don’t call the owner lad, he doesn’t like that.

Cosy country pub, with great decor. Especially the themed rooms done out very nice. Ours was The stag room- which I fell in love with & trying to replicate at home.! Room/bathroom very clean. Staff friendly, helpful & welcoming. Nice relaxing atmosphere. Food was great - Gutted couldn’t stay for breakfast. Lovely sleepy village, good location for exploring the many Peak District attractions. Downside : Needs more solid soundproofing- the walls were paper thin. We couldn’t hear anything from the busy pub downstairs, but could hear everything in the room next door - crystal clear. The people may as well have been in the same room with us. That’s without the Toilet flush, kettle, hairdryer ect……and then at 6am woken by extreme snoring. Absolutely disappointed as I fell in love with this place & hate to have leave a bad comment. Will return one day for food/drinks, but wouldn’t stay again.

Ive always wanted to have a meal here, unfortunately on the day, they were holding the carnival, so will definitely have to call again

Nice place, great service and really nice food. I had the lasagne and it was like a home made one, I really enjoyed it. My party and I hadn’t booked and they accommodated us and found a table no problems. I’d recommend The Shoulder of Mutton if your in the area.

Nice pub just around the corner the corner from where we wereb staying. Nothing exceptional about the food, but they were really good about checking allergies etc.

Absolutely enjoyed my stay. My room was perfect with opening doors onto the balcony. The hosts were very accommodating with my needs and very helpful. I met locals in the bar, and they were so polite and enjoyed the banter. Will definitely rebook any time I am wanting accommodation in the Peak District.

Everything about my stay was wonderful, the room was so clean and spacious, the service was exceptional and the food was lovely. I was going to a wedding and had a transport problem on the morning so the owners offered me a lift so that I made it on time! It was so kind and helpful, so appreciated and I was supremely grateful! I can't rate them highly enough for being such lovely people.

Massive bed, and very pleasant decor with modern bathroom facilities, very welcoming people, enjoyed the food and wine. Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc to be recommended. Good array of beers and lagers too. Good WiFi. Excellent location for walking in the Peak District. I stayed for 3 nights, perhaps I should have stayed for 5 nights!
