Looks nice, there's food and drinks... But it's a pimped up setting that lives off tourists from the airport hotels... nothing real

I am Italian and had my first Beef and Ale Pie yesterday…THE BEST EVER! And very good price!! Me and my fiancé will be back :)

Dingy, dirty pub that needs some definite attention to the outside patio area. Dead plants aplenty. Not the cheery pub we were looking for in London. Mixed drink options were minimal and they were out of some of the limited options. Would certainly not recommend.

Lovely old pub. The food was very good. The Fish and Chips were a great standard...although the chips weren't exactly plentiful (!) Wife had the lamb shank with mash potatoes. She also enjoyed - her only complaint was the veggies - lots of peas & the carrots collapsed (obviously frozen). Very convenient, clean and well managed.

We stayed over the road at the Ibis before our flight. The meal was great and the waiter that served us was friendly and attentive. The drinks were a little slow arriving as it was busy however being busy we took as a good sign.

Always the go to place when flying out of Heathrow. We always stay the night before a flight so we can go to the 3 Magpies… it is now a tradition. The food is great, although some of the wait staff in the dining area has a lot to be desired… they are slow to react to people coming in and the service is not quick either… other than that a great place with a great atmosphere

This is a real gem - located very close to Heathrow. It is a step back in time property and the character of the building serves to support the atmosphere and ambience. In this environment gourmet food would not be appropriate - the food was excellent - portions fine and delivered by excellent staff ! Although very busy - and clearly a ‘go to’ location now for many visitors from both UK and overseas the whole experience of the visit was positive! Thanks for an excellent evening!!

Services was terrible. We waited over 15 minutes to get our drinks before I had to go and request it from the bar. Food was ok. No one came to clear our plates and ask to see if we wanted dessert, which we did. I had to go to the bar to request to pay, at which point the bartender did apologize and give us a 10% discount.

Unprofessional, took 1 hour just for a portion of chips, and the pint of beer tasted funny. Being a frequent customer, disheartening to see the standards going low.

We went to the bar to order drinks and waited 10 min than the bartender just walked off,we went to the table and managed to find some to take our order but that person went back to the bar started serving other people,half of the things on the menu were not available I wish we went somewhere else so disappointing

You won’t find your traditional Pub landlord here. Though the interior is “authentic “ British pub.🇬🇧 Most of the staff are 20 year old Asians. Thats not a bad thing though !! It all works very well. I admire the way they run this busy pub. Surloin Steak, (beautifully cooked ) couple of pints of tasty GK Abbot, Coffee and mini Eton Mess .. £31. Super tasty. Good service. Not anything to complain about ! (If it was up to me, I’d move the smoking area away from the outside diners. But I hate smokers ! )

Always take a long time to get served. Generally only 1 person on the bar these days. The old manager used to be present all the time on Thursday and Friday afternoons to support the service but not seen him in ages. Green king need to invest in more staff as lots of LHR hotel passengers use this pub

Nice place close to Heathrow. Very traditional place which is nice. For a Greene King pub the food was good and very well priced for the area. Drinks not cheap but standard London prices, so you can't complain. Would recommend a visit if staying in the area as far more reasonable than the hotel restaurants and the service is friendly.

Good food but portions were small for the price. Service was terrible though. Waited 15 minutes just to get drinks and another 20 waiting for the check.

I am an American rube. I know UK food is not renowned but this was a quaint place we could walk to from our hotel. I got the fish and chips and the wife got the Hunter's chicken. I have to invite all of my British kin to Alabama where we can show you a proper fish fry.

First time here. Was great. Get the beef and ale pie.

First time in London, and I've never had British food, so I didn't really know what to expect. I had the British beef and ale pie- it was so delicious! The crust was really flaky and cooked to perfection. The gravy with buttered mash was a great compliment! My daughter wasn't too fond of her burger, but she's typically a very very picky eater. I am definitely coming back here before I leave London!

My family and I unfortunately missed a connection at Heathrow and weren't able to catch a flight until a later date. That entailed us staying across the street as we waited to get back to the US. It was a difficult and stressful experience but we happened upon the Three Magpies and had what was probably the best night of our trip albeit unintentionally. Excellent food, atmosphere and service - just a real treat. Sadly we did not have British currency so if the restaurant reads this please take care of the waiter who worked the Sunday evening shift on 7/7. I'll be back in the future and will make it up for our failure to leave him something for his hospitality.

Friendly staff that really hustle for your food and drinks. Best pot pies and fish and chips in the land!

If you're in a hotel surrounding Heathrow Airport and your flying out the next day, walk on down to the Three Magpies for some great food and drink. Prices are half of what they are in the hotels and the food is wholesome and plentiful. It's a great little place, walking distance from the Leonardo Hotel and the Holiday Inn next door.

Very busy but quite a good alternative to the local hotels. Allow more time to get served...

The service was good even though when I went it appeared that 1 guy had to service all the tables. I enjoyed the food and the beer. The cocktails were a little lackluster though. I love the old English style and appearance.

Went to the three magpie’s tonight 24th June 2025. One poor waitress trying her hardest to keep customers happy.She has a job on her hands .We ordered our food to be told later that two of them weren’t available 15 minutes after ordering then reluctantly choose fish cakes with salad to then be told they had no salad.Finally a hour after ordering the food arrived. Have never seen fish and chip’s before with no fish in the butter and I’m not joking I had lamb shanks that looked very nice until I found out it was nearly cold. Avoid this place if you want to eat . Can’t understand how people have given it 5 stars can only think it’s family members

A cute location to bond over a steaming bowl of linguine. Staff were delightful. Conveniently close to terminals 2, 3 and 5 if you need to get home late at night.

Went with a few friends and was pleasantly surprised with the "Two classics for £13" offer. Decided on the scampi and was excited to order. We entered the queue. There were 3 people in front of us. After waiting for 10 minutes for the waiter to process the orders of the people in front of us they closed the register and instructed us to order from the bar. After waiting another 5 minutes we ordered. The scampi finally came and check out the photo how it looked like. Not only were they fairly disgusting, but the portion was laughably small. My friend ordered a vegan dish with peas on the side. I am sad I don't have a photo of his dish, but he literally got 10 peas as a side. He called in the waiter and asked whether they are seriously expecting that 10 peas as a side dish makes sense. They said yes. He said the actual main was quite good though. So, from my experience, terrible service and disappointing food. The Strongbow dark fruit cider was very tasty though. EDIT: was dragged to the pub again by the same friend from the review. I ordered a cheeseburger with sweet potato fries. The burger came lukewarm. That being said, it was tasty and the sweet potato fries were great. On the other hand, we waited more than 30 minutes for our meals even though they told us there was no wait for the food. Reheating a pie and preparing a burger shouldn't take more than 15 minutes. Also, my friend's french fries came cold and hard as a rock. The staff was nice to give him fresh ones after he complained. To conclude my edit, yesterday's experience was better than my previous one so I'm increasing my review from 2 to 3 stars because there is still a lot of room for improvement.

Friendly staff and service was good. I had a burger with fries and side of chicken strips. I would definitely comeback to try more of the menu. The strips and fries were PERFECT!🤩 Burger was kind of dry peti.

Only opportunity to have an English roast during London stay but it was appalling. The roast was so dry. Nothing like a roast should be. The potatoes and Yorkshire pudding were like rocks. Service was great and good vibes and drinks but the food was not good. Disappointing.

This place was everything I wanted in a UK dining experience and more! We had Gabriel as our server and he was ON POINT. He was promt, articulate, competent, and proactive. The building was old (by American standards) with beautiful exposed wood beams and plaster ceiling. The food was culinary artwork. We had the beef pub pie which had an amazing dark brown wine sauce that was so yummy, but did not overwhelm all of the other individual flavors. I understand how they won first prize in the pub pie competition Also fish and chips which were moist inside and crispy outside. Seriously, a home run for food, atmosphere and service. We were so lucky we could walk from the Reconnaissance. We had no car. The other customers sounded local (British).

We have used this pub for a meal before dropping my son off at Heathrow Airport twice in as many weeks. Great food and a good beer selection, with very friendly staff. We had a relaxing meal, and were at Terminal 2 about five minutes later.

A must go place when staying close to LHR.

Had a lovely meal there very well looked after by Steve and Gaynor. The pie I had was superb only criticism is was that the veg wasn't piping hot but everything else brilliant.

Gabriel was working hard to fill orders, doing a great job. Good old fashioned pub, enjoyed the food and beer.

One of the worst British pubs I've ever been to. Not enough staff is the root cause of the issue. Waited 15 mins for 1 pint because there was only one member of staff taking food orders and securing drinks. He was also brand new and therefore clueless. Great view from the "beer garden" though.....

Our car broke down near the pub. We managed to hire a car but couldn't find anywhere to leave our vehicle as all the nearby car parks are £35+ a day! I went into the pub, explained the situation to the manager (Aaron). He allowed us to leave the car there for a couple of days. His ever so kind gesture allowed our family to carry on with our holiday trip. I collected my car 2 days later. Aaron wasn't working but staff told me that he had made them aware of what had happened. I couldn't thank the staff enough for what they did. If you're looking for a place full of nice people, I would definitely recommend this pub.

Considering it's location to Heathrow I was surprised by the price and quality of the food and drinks. I stay in a Hotel nearby for work and defo prefer to eat and drink here than in the hotel.

London glory cask ale here was ok of the best, fresh beers I’ve ever had. The nachos are homemade and unlike anything else. Great environment and close to Heathrow hotels. Made our short layover great. Greta prices on drinks.

The 3 Magpies is a great little pub just a 20 min walk from the Holiday Inn where we like to stay before heading back to the US. The food is always delicious. This time around I had the lamb shank with mint sauce and my husband had the beef and ale pie. I highly recommend both, but the real star of the show is dessert. The sticky toffee pudding and my husband’s crumble were stellar

Fabulous food Very friendly staff.

Had a very nice meal here. The atmosphere was lovely, although there was a wall with blinking lights that in our opinion was annoying. The service times were too long, and they forgot our order twice, but they where very nice on the other hand.

As a manager sitting at side of bar on break whilst 20 people walked in and queuing to order - manager or member of staff did nothing

Went to get a meal, as I was staying nearby, there was only one person behind the bar and kept waiting for ages only to find only one beer on offer, out of the four pumps, absolutely no interest by the staff member. Luckily I was only staying one night, so won't have to think about returning.

Slow service so allow plenty of time if using as a pre flight food option. Quality was good. Disappointed to see a table positionef right outside the accessible toilet making entry tricky and not helped by the position of the fire extinguisher. - No chance with a wheelchair The loo it's self was clean and up to regulations.

Arron (Manager) was very attentive and ensured we had an excellent time in this pub! All the staff were great! Food was great!

Minor change from my previous 3 stars review. There is potential for a 4 star review in my next visit. To start with Aaron the new manager is very friendly and approachable and we had an issue with our order that he solved amicably and quicky. The roast turkey plates looked really good and slices of turkey were on the large side and cooked really good. Other good bits were the Yorkshire puds and extra gravy. Unfortunately the roasted potatoes were a let down and seemed they were sitting for a while with multiple reheats. The signature burger looks ok, don't let this fool you. It was full of flavour and really tasty. It came with skinny fries although my preference would have been chunky chips. What my son got with his kids burger. The fondant was ok, not so warm from the inside but tasted ok. Although they had an influx of dinner in one go, service was still relatively good and staff very friendly. Looking forward to my next visit when the chef rather assistant is running the kitchen.

An unexpected gem in this area: Authentic Pub Food at reasonable prices. Great choice of beers - a very good place if staying overnight at one of the various hotels in the Heathrow / Bath Road area.

Staff were not welcoming. I asked for a specific drink, and they did not have it, but on the menu it had it. Food was ok was hot.

Visited this pub as a family of 6 adults and 4 children. The food was lovely, very reasonably priced and the service was excellent.

Excellent experience. Good menu with many healthy, vegan and vegetarian options. You can swap sides and chips for salads. Kids menu is great. Reasonable prices, friendly service, nice atmosphere. Highly recommended!

A great way to start our holiday. Couldn't fault it in any shape or form.

Went in for a simple roast beef dinner on a Sunday! Barman was over worked but absolutely brilliant! Food was slapped down & no horseradish with beef.? Food was covered in peas and totally inedible. Very disappointing in a beef roast. One thick slice & just horrible. Even Yorkshire pudding was hard & burnt Not at all happy.

Exactly what we needed after a long flight! Good was good, service was great and very reasonably priced.

Mediocre at best. Out of several beers and out of some menu items. This is no longer what an English pin was about. Maybe it's who owns or runs this place. That's probably the new normal. Better than nothing, but that's all.

Amazing food, great location if staying over before your flight from Heathrow. Atmosphere was spot on, even for a Monday night! Honestly cannot remember the name of the guy who served me, however if I quote "meerkat" he will know exactly 🤣. Thanks for a superb meal, visit and stay to our 1st vacation of the year! Let’s start with the good….the food! The burger and the pie were both fantastic. That’s what matters the most. The bad….a new manager has decided that staff is to be cut. Having waited for over 10 minutes to be seated, we were handed a couple menus and told to come back to the bar to order as they had no one on staff anymore waiting tables. Once you order, they then treat you like a criminal and demand a credit card up front telling you that it’s to stop people leaving without paying. Again, this is because they don’t have staff to bring a bill to the table and collect payment. It’s such a shame as the prior management knew how to manage this place. It has gone down hill steeply in about a week!

Sheltered amongst the big corporate hotels. The Three Magpies offer an alternative to standard hotel food/atmosphere. Really friendly, welcoming place with great food you want to eat. Will look forward to coming back.

Really liked this pub! A wonderful surprise after a long trip! Staff was one of the friendliest and well mannered I've seen, and the food was delicious! Had a nice fish and chips and some delicious crumble, and both were really good!
