Three Joes Sourdough Pizza in Fareham

It's been 6 years since I moved from Fareham, and I still could not find a better milkshake than what I tried from Three Joes and the pizza also insanely good! (6 years since I moved and still remember Three Joes, let that sink in!)

Great pizza and very friendly staff. We visited as a family group on a rainy Thursday evening, and this meal was a great way to end the day. The children were made very welcome with crayons for colouring on their menus. All of the food was very tasty, top quality pizzas with smaller versions on the well-priced childrens' menu and some good loaded potatoes. Highly recommended if you are in the area.

Usually one of our FAVOURITE places to dine. Perhaps the lack of staff turned a celebration to a long, painful experience for 3 children and 4 adults. Tip for making pizza using :buffalo mozzarella to avoid the melting pot middle. Cause face it, that's not pizza that's fondue. Put a pizza stone in the oven, and heat your oven to heat for 20–30 mins. Kiln can differ in temperature. Roll out a pizza circle. Add quality crushed tomatoes to your pizza base. Rip apart the buffalo mozzarella by hand into chunks. Sprinkle somewhat sparingly over the pizza Place on the hot pizza stone, bake for 12 mins - oven / kiln temperature may vary About a min before it’s done, add a few basil leaves. Serve and enjoy. Or if you desire first bake the pizza and as soon as you remove it from the heat sprinkle your ripped buffalo mozzarella over-the - top and a few basil leaves🍃 Personally my favourite as the flavour is there and the lovely texture is naturally heated with that fresh oven heat... yummy !! Enjoy. Waiting was the devil of the evening. Speak to your patrons let them know. Waiters/waitresses take the order, repeat to confirm the order, communicate about the menue. This is respect for their support. Serve the children first.. Happy children happy family. 😊 You lost a father and son by ignoring them. Pity that was future business.. maybe a birthday party.. income 💰 🤑 Serve "all" the drink order, focus one table at a time. Getting the drinks buy s you time for the chef.. and a breather for yourself. Don't get rid of your order ticket until it is fulfilled.. ie 2 drinks forgotten because there was no product... darn. Then remember to go back to follow-up. Prep your pizzas/ mac n cheese should have been easy to decant to your lovely cast iron dish it holds the heat and the table should have been served together. 😀 you managed to do this at the table of 6 adults who granted were there before we were seated. Their pizza orders looked amazing by the way 😋 Lucky we are used to patience with Autism and ADHD.. the kids were distracted and turned the evening around. You made the children's evening with their desert, so they were really forgiving. Lovely atmosphere. The reduced bill was appreciated 👏 I hope you can turn this around. My expectations were high for 'Three Joe's' after reading all the countless positive reviews praising their "delicious" sourdough pizzas. However.. Disappointed is an understatement..!! Visited three Joe's with the family for a nice meal out and was absolutely APPAULED by the service and food they had to offer...? Staff were incredibly RUDE to both me and my family, especially my son who has ANXIETY... She apparently could not hear what he was saying..?! Rude AND deaf..! 🙄 Nice atmos surprisingly, very retro decor with the projector screen but sadly everything else was lacking..! The food took AN AGE to come out, I felt like my stomach was eating itself away I was so starving.. and when the wretched things were served, they were absolutely REVOLTING..! soggy, undercooked, thin, bitter tasting, just foul and not worth the wait... The best things on the menu were the milkshakes, they were scummy! 😋 Shouldn't be the case for a PIZZA place however... Oh, not forgetting the fact that they fluffed up our order and gave my vegetarian daughter a pepperoni pizza and forgot one of our milkshakes..!!? Expensive for what it is, poxy staff that put a damper on the whole experience, never checking if our food was OK? inattentive, lazy, and plain RUDE scoundrels... save your money and go to PIZZA EXPRESS..! dont let these conniving SCAMPS scam you out of your hard earned cash. 🤬🤬🤬👎🏻

Very nice food, pizzas weren't the easiest to cut but tasty. They do GF pizza base. We over stayed our welcome as we were having a catch up. Luckily it was busy

Very poor service. Waited 45 minutes for food. Pizza had been waiting on counter for 10 minutes before being brought to table.

Gemma was very poor as a server. Was all over the place and didn't take time to ask questions properly. Didn't get blue light or student beans discount despite they should honour it. Disappointed.

Visited today, very friendly staff and great food, definitely will be returning, thank you ☺️

After my recent experiences at Three Joes Pizza, I've made the decision that I won't be returning. The repeated instances of being turned away with what appeared to be inadequate and untruthful explanations left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. The inconsistency in service ultimately deterred me from considering future visits. I'll be exploring other dining options in the area moving forward. It’s a shame about the staff who clearly don’t care, as the pizza (if they can be bothered to serve it to you) is very good.

Great service and food, could have a little more flavour but that’s my only complaint. Have been a few times now and always had a good experience and would keep coming back.

Pizza and the milkshakes are brilliant. The staff are great especially Lou. Shall be definitely coming back here again.

The food was amazing. Sourdough pizza and loaded potatoes were perfect. Desert did not disappoint as well. Service was great too and the atmosfer was very relaxing. We had fun playing the Trivia game found on the table. We’ll definitely come back when visiting the area.

Great pizza, reasonable price. Very kind friendly, they had colouring and were happy with their meals. Milkshakes are huge and tasty. Nice setting and good service. Recommended 😊

Ordered 2 kids pizzas and a main menu pizza. They delivered the kids food and forgot to put our pizza through so it never got made. Didn’t want to eat on our own so my wife and I ended up giving up and eating nothing. No real apology or offer of good will. What a fantastic Christmas family lunch out. Cheers 3 Joes. 👎🏻

My kids love this place, food is always good. And great kids menu.

The food, especially the pizzas, are amazing. But it's a rather empty, soulless place really. Bizarrely, considering we were almost the only ones there, we had to wait while they cleared and set a table even though the place was full of set tables. And we had booked.

Pizza was very mediocre and not worth the money. I ordered extra mozzarella and despite that there was still hardly any cheese on the pizza. The fact it was empty at 1730 on a Friday should have rang alarm bells but I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. They need to do a lot better! The only consolation was a small Blue light card discount.

Very mediocre pizzas. Definitely not worth the money and not a patch on Pizza Express. Sorry but you guys need to do a lot better.

We had a party of ten for dinner so not a straightforward order but overall not a good experience. We had drinks orders forgotten repeatedly, the mains took over an hour, even puddings took 25 minutes for just ice cream, some of the food wasn’t as described or missing ingredients like sprinkles on ice cream and for some reason the service charge was included in the bill but hidden in the middle of it. Plus side was the pizzas were ok for the main part and the servers were pleasant but this restaurant feels like it needs to raise its game to be worth visiting again.

Good food at a reasonable price

Just had our second recent visit, both times the service has been very friendly & welcoming. We’ve also had space for little ones buggy and to feed him at the table. Plus, the pizza & desserts are amazing! Our visits have been at lunch on a Friday, while it’s fairly quiet.

Horrible horrible service .first of all they did the challenge 25 on me and when I showed my photographed ID she rejected it saying I needed a physical copy.A major red flag when you walk into a restaurant at 5 pm on a Friday and it’s empty .pizza was ok no wow factor whatsoever..I would never recommend

Tasty sourdough pizzas and other dishes plus a good selection of both soft and alcoholic drinks. Vegetarian and vegan options available. One point removed because despite correcting this at one point they're back to describing the cheese on many of their vegetarian dishes as "parmesan"

Absolutely brilliant staff who are incredibly friendly and welcoming, the food tasted great and is amazing value, would go again

the food was absolutely tasteless, youd think things such as pizza and mac and cheese, both of which are loaded with sauces and cheese would have flavour yet there was not an ounce of flavour on either. simply ate due to the fact that i was starving and knew i wouldnt have food for some time after. service was ok. inexperienced young chefs managed to make eating the dough similar to eating wet concrete, gluing our mouths shut. wouldn’t recommend

We've eaten here before but sadly this is the last time we visit. The service could only be described as poor, I hope it was the young ladies first night but fear it wasn't. No knowledge of the menu and saying things like "yeah, I'd order two as they're really small portions..." doesn't warm you to a venue. The pizzas were atrocious, sorry guys, I've eaten better frozen pizzas... The shift manager was very understanding and slashed the bill in half so quickly I guess I wasn't the first to comment...

Banger deal with the bottomless brunch!! Staff friendly, food yummy, the only issue i had is that there were customers on the other table who were rude and arrogant 😂😂😂 bless up you guys handled them well and with kindness 😊

Chewy, overcooked pizza with little flavour. Staff were lovely. Might try again but was disappointed after hearing some good reviews.

Wow pizzas great and they do craft beer staff really friendly recommend to anyone who is a pizza 🍕 lover 👆 this was my review I left a couple years ago I took my son here yesterday telling him it's the best pizza place around but unfortunately not this time the food was really bad the garlic bread was burnt couldn't eat it the pizzas we burnt left most of it and the house coleslaw was nothing but raw vegetables terrible could of done better myself ! The two young guys who were making the pizza's spent the whole time while we were there laughing and joking and mucking about instead of making sure the food came out eatable? There's a stark warning if you look across the road what happens to businesses if you carry on the way you are I'm afraid 😪 it would of been 1 star but the actual waiting staff were really nice

Today was the first time I have had a headache from chewing a pizza.. My guess is that the dough used to create the pizza's is frozen and didnt have enough time to defrost? had a "Meat up" the meat was very dry.. the pizza base was on a new level of dry!! honestly my jaw is aching!! took my wife out as she had worked today and wanted to treat her.. I was very disappointed by my pizza.. won't be going to the fareham branch again.. been to the Chichester branch twice and was really impressed.. hopefully just a freak occurrence..

The first warning sign was the place was empty at 5pm on a Wednesday - the staff were friendly enough but the food was nothing to shout about. Ordered the CBLT with Parmentier potatoes - the pizza base itself was pleasant enough but I felt the pizza wasn't hot enough on top as the tomatoes were barely warm and the whole thing was a bit of a disappointment. Potatoes were served in a skillet with some paprika on top and again, were ok but to charge £4.75 really shows how the cost of living is starting to take the piss. Three Joe's may be a good addition to Fareham's dying and culturally-starved high street but honestly, there's better pizza (and cheaper too) to be had elsewhere.

Amazing pizza and great service today

I can't explain how bad the service is here, but will try... Waited 15 minutes for someone to come and ask if we wanted drinks. This was because our server (young girl) was just chatting to her friend who popped in to say hi. Then took another 15 minutes to get our water and milkshakes. When ordering our food, I explained that I wanted the pepperoni, which says "comes with or without green peppers", and that I wanted it with peppers. The girl looked at me like I was stupid. She said it comes with peppers anyway. I tried explaining that it's a choice on the menu and I was giving her my choice... That didn't sink in so I left it. The food then comes out.. . No peppers! It's actually laughable. They then just brought out raw peppers in a bowl. Definitely didn't get what I was paying for. My girlfriend asked for the dip that should come with the pizza as they didn't bring that either. I hadn't been before so I wouldn't have even known that all pizzas should come with a dip. We then proceeded to wait another 20 minutes after we finished, just to try to get the bill. I had to go up to the bar to ask if we could pay. No one asked how it was... Guess they already knew as I'd have told them if they did ask. The pizza was 3/5... But the order was weong and wasn't rectified, so it became a 2/5. The rest of the experience was awful and I feel like it was a waste of money and ruined our evening.

Love this place, best tasting pizza ever. Trivial pursuit cards could do with updating but fun to play whilst waiting for food nonetheless. Please bring back Peroni! 😁

Worst place out to eat! Awful staff - very rude and inattentive eg Grace. Pizza was soggy, took over an hour for it to come out. Went in with the intention of having a few drinks and never got asked once how our food was or if we wanted anything else. Ruined a family night out and it is a real shame as we won’t be coming back and not recommend to anyone

Seems to have gone down hill since last time I had gone. Staff was friendly but seemed under-manned for amount of people coming in Food was slow to be served, but most of the pizzas were good (one was a mess of molten cheese soup) Overall it was OK but could be better.

Service was really bad, food was tasty! Service was slow and the staff were not friendly and not smiling, you waited ages for them to come over so had to call them over and they didn’t do any check ups on the table. They would actively avoid looking over as to not to have to help you

The pizzas are really nice and so filling. We shouldn't have bothered with a side and a milkshake but they sounded too good not to, and they didn't disappoint. Very friendly staff and the games on the table are a nice touch.

Could have cooked the pizza quicker myself, and it would have had more topping. Chairs were hard, and we felt very exposed. Sorry, but not for me. I hate giving bad reviews, so I will say no more.

It is not functioning here at all. We could well have been the only ones seated and then forgotten about. After 15 minutes, we ordered drinks. After another 15 minutes something turns up that was not what was ordered. I gave up trying to explain the difference between Pompey Royal and a tin of pale ale. The pizzas were nice once they arrived. That eased the irritation of gloomy looks among the staff.

Food was ok.... Kids macaroni cheese was extremely bland and just looked like a white sauce....

Pizza was ok but nothing special. I thought it was a bit bland and certainly lacked toppings and cheese. Not sure if there is anything better in the area but I will certainly be trying somewhere else before coming back. Certainly wouldn't recommend it based on my experience. Maybe an off night.

Pre booked for a party of 12 of us, good atmosphere, welcomed by friendly staff. Pizzas freshly cooked and delicious. Recommended.

Ordered starters, mains &drinks at 1800 1945 I ask where is our food. Told but the waitress the kitchen had lost our ticket. 2000 soggy over buttered garlic bread comes out. 2020 asked where our mains are due to everything as been cleaned. Told be out shortly. 2030 mains turn up tomato base delivered when requested barbecue as the special board states. Told “ the barbecue is mixed with tomato. Therefore it’s not barbecue solely” this did not taste of barbecue at all. Very unpleasant loud experience. Sadly ruined a night out with the wife

Good offer of 2 for 1 on pizza during the week in January. Hot drinks machine was broken and they had a shortage of some food, but what we ordered was enjoyable. Room was cold, which was probably made worse with large windows and metal tables. Plates probably could have done with being preheated.

The pizza was delicious, but the toppings were a bit on the scarce side. Service was very good. My only complaint was it was rather chilly in a restaurant, especially by the windows

Three Joes. An absolute favorite. Such a pleaser. First time we had it for takeout and it survived its trip home unscathed. Meat up pizza got us going before we had our dinner. It had barbecued pork shoulder shreds, salami, pepperoni and serrano ham. What a good combo. It was supported by a crunchy then chewy dough. They have a very lovely chili oil that gives you the perfect amount of heat to spice your pizza.

Great pizza, done in a wood fired oven, shame that the staff aren’t very attentive at times. The prices for certain things are spot on, just don’t order soda water £1.50 for 1/2. Vegan options are ok but not the best, the pizzas need more toppings on them and the chilli oil needs more chilli!!!!

Thanks for coming to Fareham and bringing vegan options! I've visited you many times but yesterday after being let down on service by the few others in Fareham you have me a warm welcome, fast friendly service and delicious food! I've moved away from the area but I'll always pop in when visiting family. Thank you.

Hands down the best pizza in Fareham if not this part of Hampshire. The prices are reasonable, the milkshakes are superb, the pizza is perfect, the staff are lovely and the serve baked camembert cooked in bread. What's not to love??

We visited just after lunch time...pretty much empty. However, the service, whilst friendly and polite, was VERY slow! The pizza was great, pasta not so much. If it didn't have the caramelised leeks it would have been a very bland cheese sauce. Reasonably priced though but not if you want a quick cheap bite to eat.

The restaurant has a great atmosphere, card games are available on each table which provides entertainment during the short wait for food. Have been multiple times over the years and the food is tasty and comes out hot (especially the potato sides). The price is very reasonable for an evening out and makes for a really nice date night, dinner out with friends or family.

Place could do with a bit of variance in their menu. Swear it's not changed since they opened. Milkshakes are the best around.

Went a couple of times at the beginning of the year and my partner and I really rated it. Great food complimented by really great service. 9/10 it was a young chap who served us who was attentive & really pleasant. Went a couple of weeks ago to celebrate a birthday with family on a weeknight and was really disappointed. Despite restaurant being quiet the three waiting staff were not attentive at all. When taking a drink order they walked off before everyone could make their order. Despite empty visible glasses nobody came over to ask if we wanted anymore drinks. I actually had to get up and ask them to come over. Once plates were taken there was a delay with the cake we provided being brought out and if we wanted any element of surprise this was ruined by a staff member coming over and saying “the cake will be just a moment…”. Not sure we’ll be heading back which is a shame as I love their gluten free pizzas.

Our favourite place to eat in Fareham! Always great service and food. Vegan pizzas and options available, just shame they do not offer dairy-free milkshakes, but other great drinks on offer.

Looks 8/10 Tastes 5/10 Just something missing, compared to Urban Slice pizza.

Really friendly atmoshphere, staff were extremely approachable and the whole experience was just lovely. Food was so tasty, nothing beats fresh pizza!

This is our regular place to eat as a family! Amazing Pizza, excellent choices at a good price. Kids menu includes carrot & cucumber sticks, hummus, a drink, pizza or pasta and icecream, for under £5. Our children love it! Highly recommend a visit!

Pizza tasted great, staff very attentive nothing too much trouble, only nocked them down 1 star as booth seating uncomfortable and table top reminds me of institutional canteen with stainless steel tops -very cold

Delicious pizzas, though they are "portion pizzas", and I finished mine, I could have done with a half. The pizzas are a lot of bread, but I liked that they all came with a garlic sauce for dipping! Mmm. The milkshakes are also fabulous!

Customer service was good the waiters were attentive especially the man he was very polite, but the food….wasn't great old toppings on pizza old potatoes, couldn’t even put it in mouth just smelt and tasted bad

We ordered to collect and the service was amazing. Pizza was ready within 22 minutes. This was hands down the best pizza we’ve had from anywhere around. No horrible dripping grease like dominos etc and really authentic. The base was so delicious, right amount of sauce and mozzarella. No cheddar in sight, really great choice of toppings. My husband and I had a different pizza each and both of us loved it! Didn’t feel horrible afterwards either but like we’d eaten something really fresh instead of junk food. Will definitely be coming back. The restaurant is really chilled and staff are really friendly. Amazing !

I enjoyed the thin sourdough base however the toppings were sparse. I don't know if they they ran out of chicken and spicy nduja. Not worth the £12.95 ! Wish I had taken the pic .... Kids menus was fair and decent portions.

Friendly staff, good range of pizzas and some nice local beers.

We went out for a family meal and had a lovely experience. I especially appreciated that there were pizza cutters on every table as not all Italian restaurants let you cut your own pizza. Good food and quirky entertainment while you wait. The only little remark I can make is that the table booths as well as most chairs were designed for skinny people, whom we, regrettably, are not.

First visit great. Second a week later, bad. It was later in the day, not many staff so service was chaotic. Hair in dessert which l declined to eat beyond two mouthfuls. One coffee which was made was left on bar for over ten minutes before receiving, so it was cold and the other was lukewarm at best. Won't return. Couldn't wait to leave.

First visit enjoyed a lovely meal, unusual choice of pizzas which made a nice change!
