Brilliant meal on Friday night. I had the special pork with savoy cabbage & Potato gratin . Which was amazingly present and was unbelievable delicious. My husband had a thin crust pizza which was really tasty and a good amount of toppings. The pub was busy and had great atmosphere. Highly recommend

This place is only interested in taking care of their regulars. *SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE FOR A PLEASANT EVENING* We are local and made to feel so uncomfortable because we were not regulars. Despite having table booked, made to wait squeezed in at the bar for 20 minutes as they wouldn't ask the locals who had finished eating to leave the table we booked. No apologies, and like others have said - the owner is rude, dismissive and very arrogant. Overcrowded with regulars who are prioritised - you are all on top of each other. Then took an additional 30 minutes to take our order. I have type 1 diabetes, so ordered a diet soft drink, and a sugar drink was given to me. This happens - people make mistakes, that's fine. But when I asked for it to be swapped, the owner explained how he highly doubted there was any error made on their part. Then later when I ordered dessert, actually questioned me and demanded to know how I could eat said dessert if I was really diabetic!! Never, in all my thirty years of having diabetes, have I been met with such a condescending attitude where a pub owner feels he is entitled to question what I eat!! Utterly disgusting. Found myself explaining that I have an insulin pump which I can adjust for food, but unknowingly consuming a sugar drink I wouldn't have accounted for would make me very ill. Furious I was put in this position. When I raised my concerns, he didn't even bother to apologise. The food was only average too, so even if you avoid the dire attitude of this man, I wouldn't bother and would seek another place where your money will provide you with decent food, service and atmosphere. Additionally dogs were running round the dinner tables - again, allowed by regulars - and a ball was actually thrown and hit my friend's side of her face. Just avoid.

We hired the function room at The Three Horseshoes for a lunchtime family birthday celebration for over 30 people. Everything about our experience was excellent. Communications and pre-event organising was first class. On the day we received very many positive comments from our guests about the food and the venue overall. A lot of very good value, tasty food was supplied from their buffet menu, plus our vegan and gluten intolerant guests were well catered for. Overall we have nothing but praise for Mike and his staff. Special thanks to Dan for looking after us on the day. We have no hesitation in recommending The Three Horseshoes. They really contributed to making it a memorable day.

Was staying in a near by hotel and visited for dinner, then lunch... then Sunday dinner! It is a traditional pub in a rural setting on the outskirts if Letchworth, with a lot of history. It has taken excellent Covid precautions. It has a selection of real ales that change frequently and are kept very well. The food on all three occasions was very good - the tempura veg were excellent. The Sunday Roast was superb and is all good value. It is definitely worth a visit if you are in that part of the world.

We popped in just before 1 on Sunday aware it was likely to be busy but there were 2 empty tables of 4 (booked for 1.30 and 2) and one free barstool. We ordered drinks and asked to order just starters from the Sunday roast menu. “Oh I don’t know, we’re fully booked and there’s no table “. I assured them we’d be fine with goujons at the bar but they needed to check with the kitchen. There were a couple of main courses being sent out so they went to ask in the kitchen. No - sorry! Now if I’d seen they were indeed busy I would have had sympathy but only one table had any food sent out in the time we were there. We left at 1.30 and only 2 if the expected ‘rush’ had arrived. Will I be back? No

If ever a caption was fitting this pubs roasts are it. Took my parents here yesterday for a sunday roast. Cosy little pub with no heirs or graces nor a hint of "gastro". A traditional pub which serves a traditional roast which we all enjoyed. The only bit of constructive criticism would be the meagre portion of vegetables. A small bowl for 3 of us. Would return in the future though.

My husband and I, along with our daughter and son inlaw visiting from New Zealand went for Sunday lunch. 3 had the mixed roast with all the trimmings which were delicious and piping hot. I do not eat red meat and as there was only 1 vege option of a Shepherd's pie and 2 seafood- fish and chip main or tempura prawns starter- I asked to have a main size prawns with added chips and garden salad. This was no trouble at all for the lady who took our order. All of the mains were served on time. My prawns were lovely and the salad fresh with the chips crunchy on the outside and soft inside. Pudding consisted of sticky toffee pudding x2 and 1x belgium waffle. Both were delicious. The cider on tap and house Savignon Blanc were of a high quality. The service was great. Thanks 3 Horseshoes for a lovely Sunday lunch. My hubby and I will definitely be back.

Reserved a table for two and a dog. Pleasant village pub with some nice walks around the village of Willian. Staff were friendly, pub a little worn and rough around the edges. Ordered Roast beef for two, Roast potatoes, parsnips, gravy and beef were good, although a little scant. The accompanying vegetables were also scant and very unimaginatively boiled and presented. When presented with the bill, it went something like this, "Is this right? £6.80 for two soda waters?", ..... "Erh, yeah?", ...... "But its tap water?"..... "Erh, yeah, well we have to put the gas in it!".

Tracey and Karl have recently taken over here and after a few weeks closure to clean throughout and refit the kitchen it is now up and running and with a warm welcome to all (even if you have four legs and don't drink a lot!). The bar offers a good range of draught ales and lagers and some pleasant yet reasonably priced wines. Food is available lunch and evening Monday to Saturday and also Sunday lunch. The menu offers snacks, paninies, sharing cheese plates, together with the traditional pub fayre of fish or scampi and chips, pie, curry, lasagne etc - these 'main course' dishes typically priced £7 - £9. Traditional desserts are a modest £3.95. There is also a 'Kids menu' at £3.95. Our party had chicken curry, fish and chips, and scampi and chips, and we were impressed with both quality and portion size - with particular mention for the chips which were so crisp on the outside and soft within.

We took our elderly neighbours and daughter out for dinner yesterday evening. One of the neighbours is registered blind & the other a vegetation. We choose the venue because the menu boasted some good vegetarian dishes. When we arrived the pub was far from full but there was a wedding reception going on in the function room. We were told straight away that there were no burgers left. It transpired lots of other things had run out as well from ice cream wafers to sirloin steak. We decided to have a main and sweet so having ordered we settled down to chat whilst the food was prepared. Unfortunately we waited and waited and waited and eventually our meals did arrive but one at a time with quite a gap in between making it embarrassing for everyone. The food was fine. We decided to still risk a sweet despite being in the pub twice as long as we had intended already. We waited & waited for our sweets to the point where I had to say something only to be told that they were sorting out the wedding reception and ours would follow. Whilst we were waiting for the sweets I got another drink for one of my guests, by this time I had had 2 and was driving. I then went to the washroom and on return found a pint of beer in my place which apparently arrived without notice and which I had to return. Eventually the sweets arrived however the ice creams, which the menu stated would have wafers and a sauce didn't, so I asked for them to be told they had run out of wafers but they did bring three plastic bottles of sauces from which they proceeded to serve us. I asked to settle the bill to be told that the card machine had been dropped by a member of staff and couldn't give me a receipt. I asked for an itemised bill again to be told I couldn't have one but they would hand write me one, stamp it and sign it. A table of 4 which arrived after us complained about theirs meal and service and didn't get charged for their food and were given a bottle of wine as an apology.

Our attention was drawn to sign saying sun drenched rear beer garden at the pub and this was backed up again by another sign on the outside of the pub. Use our beautiful rear sun trap garden.(words to that effect) Not sure if this pub garden is Narnia and you have to get to it through a magic wardrobe. But could we hell as find it. There is a small area to the side of the pub that had a couple of tables but was in the shade. Anyway went inside and it is an oldy worldy pub that looks quite quaint. Tried the Baldock cider that was very pleasant. Asked the barmaid were Narnia was as it wasn't apparent once being inside the pub. Apparently it was closed due to a private party. Still not entirely sure how you get to Narnia but I'm bringing Bear Grylls with me next time as far as I can see. You go through a doorway, up some steps into a first floor room and then through a door on the opposite side. This is unconfirmed. Can't see how we would be able to take our bikes to this garden so will take a lock next time. Anyway. Didn't sample food. Drinks seemed OK. Will update on return visit.

My husband and I look for character in a pub and the three horseshoes does not disappoint. It was quiet enough for a good conversation but noisy enough to have a community atmosphere. The impression is that it is a solid local pub. We have been several times since moving to the area, and look forward to many more visits. We love that it is dog friendly- perfect for stopping in while walking the dog, and that the atmosphere is so cheerful. The landlady could not do enough for us when we were there, the food was great and the range of real ales kept my husband going back for more.

We received a warm welcome on arrival, the landlady was very cheery and polite and let us sample the real ales before we made our choice. Typical local village pub with a nice atmosphere. Not much of a beer garden, very small!

Exactly what we were looking for. Over 55 menu - £7.99 for two courses. Ham egg and chips all round followed by bread and butter pudding with custard, treacle sponge and custard, rhubarb crumble with ice cream. Yummy. Quite ordinary but that's what we were looking for. £40 for four with drink each. What's not to like?

Lovely pub, friendly staff, infinitely better than its pretentious gastropub neighbour down the road

We are raising money to renovate our village sign here in Willian. Yesterday we held a village fun quiz night with a fish and chip supper in The Forge function room at The Three Horseshoes Willian. Carole's team saw to everything so that we could concentrate on the quiz and on enjoying ourselves. 42 tasty meals were served and 42 people enjoyed good service, a wide range of drinks and a great village pub atmosphere.I thoroughly recommend The Forge function room for a party or fund raising event.

We popped in here on the way back from a trip out. 2 diners had the roast which was perfect. The liver and bacon went down well and I enjoyed the homemade lasagne. There is a good selection of ale with a regular turn around. Carole and the team offer a warm welcome. All in all lovely traditional Village pub.

We are just a 20 minute walk from this traditional village pub but only just started to wander across from time to time. Staff, service and beer have always been excellent. This visit we also had some food and it couldn't be faulted. Told us they were busy so we may have a wait but actually the meals came out faster than many other places when less busy. We will definitely make this a more regular destination, especially with the warmer and lighter evenings due any time now.

A nice old-fashioned and welcoming local tucked away in the centre of the village of Willian. We were staying at the Letchworth Hall hotel but decided to walk down to the village for dinner. We tried the Horseshoes on the first night, having booked earlier in the day. A decent choice of beer is on offer, and it's a reasonable pub grub menu. The food was very good, although my wife's salmon was a tad overcooked and a little dry (not enough to make a fuss over though). Food (two courses) and drinks came to around £40 for the two of us.If you're looking for decent pub fare, and a warm welcome, definitely try the Horseshoes.

First visit to The Jester... Friendly welcome. Quick & efficient service. Food: Superb roast, a well presented hearty plate. Chicken stuffed with spinach, roasties, Yorkshire pudding with vegetables on the side. My partner had the Roast Pork which was equally tasty. Honey comb cheesecake didn’t touch the sides! A delight not to have to cook Sunday lunch, thank you all. We will be back 🙂

Earlier today I dropped my dog at the Groomer in Vanstone Parks Garden Centre, my car to the car wash guys then went into the cafe after a look around the garden centre. It was just after noon. I ordered an omelette with salad and crisps with a pot of tea. Paid for my order and sat outside with my plant pot which had my order number on. The waitress came out with a pot of tea, going well so far! When the waitress brought my order it was an omelette on a rather large plate! I asked where the salad was and was advised this it the breakfast menu, you don’t get anything with it then walked away. I thought I’d read the menu incorrectly until the lady who also sat outside was served an omelette with enough salad you could say it had its own garden! What a pity the service wasn’t a patch on it as when the previous owners/ managers ran the Orchard Cafe. The Groomer did a lovely job on my dog and the car valets made my car sparkle. Just been let down by the cafe’ won’t be going there again

Having been to different pubs in different places for many years, this might be my favourite pub ever. Absolutely packed at 5pm on a Sunday afternoon. Everyone smiling. Great staff and great food. I couldn't be happier.
